[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Polar Inc. is one of the most interesting artists within the crossover of melodic techno and melodic progressive house. His The Pledge EP contains 5 strong tracks blessed with warm synths, cinematic strings, organic percussion, deep haunting basslines and in the case of Eyes Off You superb vocals by XIRA. His production skills are self evident and this mini album builds a wonderful puzzle of emotional melancholic epic but still moody and esoteric sounds that fans of the more eclectic complex elegant sounds will appreciate. As background sound for meditation sessions or as perfect club weapons this EP will be a liberating experience for sure. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

Over the last two decades, Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats label has launched the careers of some of the most respected names in electronic music: Andrew Bayer, ARTY, Audien, ilan Bluestone, Seven Lions and Mat Zo, to name just a few. In January 2021, the label launched Anjunabeats Rising: a new EP series highlighting the next generation of producers and championing emerging artists from around the world.

Anjunabeats Rising has introduced over 40 new acts to the label since 2021, including 28mm, Nancie, Adz, Avenue One, Damate, Taygeto, and many more. The series is now back for its 17th volume, with new music from Mr. Sosa, Corderoy, soft centre and Alex Wright.

Bournemouth-based Mr. Sosa debuted on Anjunadeep last year with ‘Euphoria’, which featured on the label’s Explorations 19 compilation. He’s been championed by the likes of Marsh, Simon Doty and Because Of Art, and his tracks have appeared in leading editorial playlists like Spotify’s 4AM Chillout, The Loft and Altar.

Corderoy has racked up over 10 million streams across his entire catalogue. He’s earned spins from Tiesto, Nora En Pure, Sultan + Shepherd, John Gibbons, David Guetta, Judge Jules, and beyond, and has previously released on Hexagon, Armada, Perfecto, Enhanced and more.

soft centre is the brand new vocal project from Jodie Nicholson, who opened the Wilderness Festival main stage for Jamie XX and Bicep in 2021. Her tracks have featured on BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and the 6 Music playlist, as well as the annual 'Best of BBC Introducing' playlists.

Alex Wright has attracted support from icons like Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk, as well as Apollo Nash and Aly & Fia. The Nottingham-based DJ and producer has released on an array of respected labels, including Always Alive, DSR, FSOE Fables, Pure Trance and AVA White, and also runs a bi-weekly show on 1Mix Radio.

“Vora came to life while messing around with a CS-80 and eventually evolved into a heavy breakbeat rave piece. It’s been a secret weapon in my sets for a while now whenever it’s time to turn up the heat. I first teased it in my Anjuna live stream on the Jurassic coast and the requests to release it have been nonstop.” - Mr. Sosa
"I wanted to combine a thunderous, percussive groove with an atmospheric, sun-kissed breakdown to get the best of both worlds." - Alex Wright

Orphyd unleashes 2 exquisite tracks that can stand out easily and become part of any deep progressive trance or house DJ set. Classy deep driving sounds with smooth grooves, bubbly basslines and most importantly magical melodies with certain exotic orient feel. Totem is very smooth and spacious with hypnotic rhythm and very emotional harp melody contemplated with ethnic vocals. Slow Run starts with ambient intro and slowly moves to a much more upfront colorful main section with pulsating basslines, pounding grooves and electro aggressive greedy touches making it perfect for DJ sets from artists like Above & Beyond. Cyprus based music duo Paul Angelo and Don Argento return to Bonzai Progressive with the brilliant Voyager EP which comes fresh off the back of their debut Ipanema EP back in February 2017. They started writing and playing electronic music as a duo back in 2013 and since then they performed at top electronic music venues in Cyprus and managed to reach the Beatport top 100 with their debut EP, Bromelain. Their music blends elements of Progressive House, Trance and Techno. They have seen support from big electronic artists such as Tim Penner, Capa, Robert R. Hardy, Pete K, Dmitry Molosh, Simos Tagias, Chris Zag, Haris C, Paul Anthonee and many more. Great to this talented team back for more.

Paul Angelo & Don Argento
Voyager delivers a beautifully constructed melodic progressive groove right from the off. Muted kicks are joined by hypnotic keys as a deep droning bass rises up. The kicks are beefed up with nice mid level thump taking the track to the next level. Melodies come fleeting through mesmerizing the senses and locking us in for the duration. An array of intricate patterns converge perfectly to create a blissful experience that is not to be missed.

Below Sea Level intros with nice chunky kick drum alongside various percussions that build up a cool rhythmic sequence. Deep basses litter the sound creating anticipation as cosmic synths layer up creating a surreal narrative. The abyss level bass shores up the groove beautifully while the upper sounds take the track galactic. The break is divine as retro styled synths dish out their Jarre-like sound. Top stuff once again from this duo, a must have for sure.

Cypriot DJ and producer debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the stunning Illusionize which comes backed up with a superb remix from Manu Riga. Since 2010 George has been responsible for a string of top quality tracks across many labels and delving into various genres along the way. His music enjoys great support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, EDX, Paul Oakenfold, Moonbeam and more. Delighted to have him on board and we hope to see more in the future.

The Original Mix intros with a subtle kick to the backdrop of a mesmerizing arpeggio that cascades through you mind, lulling you into its warm groove. Swirling pads create a serene atmosphere as the arps are given a dose of modulation before subsiding back to a more mellow flow. The kick drum gets beefed up which tightens up the drums beautifully. As the track progresses we are introduced to an array of sweet melodies as well as a captivating voice that really digs deep into your mind. A fantastic slice that delivers a somewhat euphoric side to progressive house.

Manu Riga continues to go from strength to strength, he remains consistent in the quality department in everything he does. After a string of very popular remixes in 2016 - including his last Lift Off Remix for Karim S featuring Lounasan - Pilots Of The Millennium - he delivers his Melodic Remix and in true Manu Riga style he knocks it outta the park. On the remix here we can tell that Manu is going straight to the floors as he dishes out a solid drum arrangement complete with punchy kick drums, bright hi hats and a building percussion set. Melodic arps start to fade in and we quickly succumb to its hypnotic prowess. On top of the arps we find super sweet harmonious notes that compliment the sound superbly. The arps have a weaving effect as the filters are let loose creating a wonderful tapestry of textures. Driving the groove is a strong and powerful bassline that hangs perfectly on the low end allowing the track to breath while holding us in it grasp. Another sublime effort by Manu Riga that you do not want to miss.

Hot off the trail of their previous release, "Fiction," Jerome Isma-Ae and Alastor are back, this time with the latest incarnation of their newfound sound: 'Reflection'. Reminiscent of quintessential '1980s soundtracks, we are starting to see a common theme here. "Reflection" is definitive of nostalgia, its running bassline a borrow from the analogue synth engines of the voltage-control era, its running lead arp clearly retro-futuro. These two are onto something new, fresh and exciting. With each release, they are actually inviting us to be a part of something new. Perhaps a movement? Mysterious, spell-binding, dark energy.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Anjunadeep is responsible for bringing in the public domain great talents like the duo Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza. Their productions have been widely supported and their  musical and technical skills have been praised extensively. The latest  Rea EP includes 4 magnificent tracks that each one of them could be released on its own as single. Secret Place features the beloved singer Susie Ledge on vocal duties. The track is deep progressive house at its best with smooth deep basslines, rolling tribalish drums, dark haunting atmosphere and cinematic soundscapes. The vocal drive the track forward and awake your soul to get excited to search for that Secret Place. Great lyrics and electro pop infuses makes this track perfect for live performance as it sounds so organic and less digitally processed. Voices has long intro and then moves in the main section that is deep melodic balearic progressive house at its best with piano chords that progresses and adds that summery tone while is sprinkled with bells and xylophone like melodies. I Can't Be Found features the vocals once again by Susie Ledge. It is melodic progressive house with deep house and tropical house influences. The breakdown is the moment that the great vocal is revealed to touch you deeply and then moves to the crescendo moment with that dark industrial synthy along with xylophone melodies and balearic touches. Lastly Rea that gives the tittle on the whole EP is bubbly deep progressive house with dark industrial synths, wobbly percussion, variety of synthy hooks and cool distorted vocals with certain old school house flavour in them. The result is a magnificent mini EP of 4 top ultra infectious summer cuts. #PureGold #PureClass Love It [/content]

One of 2016’s breakout stars, Helsinki’s Yotto (aka Otto Yliperttula) returns to Anjunadeep with the first of three Twin Peaks inspired singles.

Having notched up his third ‘Essential New Tune’ on BBC Radio 1 with ‘Aviate’ back in April, Otto now delivers another epic slice of melodic house music, ‘The Owls’.

Building from a dark brooding groove into an infectious riff, ‘The Owls’ showcases Yotto’s skill for combining nuanced melodies with raw powerful dancefloor moments. Soaring synths cascade alongside deft strings and driving percussion towards a grand crescendo of emotional chords and resonant low-end stabs.

‘The Owls’ encapsulates the trademark sound Yotto has developed over the past 18 months, at once both uplifiting and dark, earning support from Pete Tong, Kölsch, Dusky, Laurent Garnier, Guy Gerber, Gorgon City and Thugfucker along the way.

 [item value="10"]Yotto - The Owls[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Yotto has become one of the most watched out for producer and his latest single on Anjunadeep is another great example of what he is able to achieve when he composes highly original emotional deep progressive house sounds that recall the big progressive house classics by legends like Sasha and John Digweed. The Owls is a late night journey of travelling emotional haunting basslines, rolling tribalish drums, distant little guitar riffs in the background and wide variety of synthy plucks along with heavenly voices and cinematic sensibility.  The main synthy theme that drives the track forward will make the crowd dance as it is extremely infectious and addiction is certain without doubts. If you like to close your eyes, open your ears and follow the music without thinking how to get your next selfie on the dancefloor I believe The Owls is simply just for you. #PureClass #PureGold Love iT[/content]

South Shore, Nova Scotia based producer Don Longton debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic It's Pouring Outside, and this one features a top notch remix from long time friend and Twins In Mind partner Manu Riga. The son of a Jazz pianist, Don was drawn into the synth sound since the early 70's and was fascinated by the sounds of ELP, Rick Wakeman and others. He then caught the bug and started to produce his own sounds during the MIDI boom. Although he was constantly on the move, moving to new homes, he continued to play music. In 2007 he joined Twins In Mind with Manu Riga - aka prolific Belgian artist and Bonzai stalwart Adriaan Baussens - and later he went on to focus more on the progressive house side of things. In his own words Don is inspired by the incredible talent within the music industry and he is on course to unleash his own sound on the world. Much more to come from Don in the future so it's well worth watching this space.

The Original Mix intros with a wonderfully deep and atmospheric vibe as lush tones are met with sporadic percussions and cool FX. Subdued kick drums come into play and we find ourselves being drawn into the infectious progressive groove. The expertly crafted layers build slowly to become a full on pumping groove that will surely have the floors filled. At the midway point a fantastic array of soothing melodies come though, made up of brash synths, soft voices and swirling pads. A top notch sound that is a definite must have track for any prog set.

Manu Riga turns up on remix duty and delivers his superb Sunshine Remix. A long time friend of Don, the guys have collaborated on the Twins In Mind project where they churned out some top quality chillout and downtempo cuts on Bonzai Elemental. Adriaan recently enjoyed the release of his first album - Surrounded - and now we can't wait until the next one. Currently working on new material as well as other remixes, we always look forward to the pure quality in this guy's productions. The remix intros with some very nicely crafted kicks that are joined by a subtle display of hats and percussions. A deep, chugging bassline comes through and dominates the sound, locking us into its hypnotic groove. The track slowly builds and we're treated to some very nice progressive sounds that lead us into the first break where beautifully crafted and very subtle melodies come into play before we are thrust back into the main groove. Yet again we find ourselves completely hooked on the Manu Riga sound, and this one heralds a new era in that sound, one which his army of fans will undoubtedly embrace.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Don Longton presents on Bonzai Progressive a magnificent journey of deep house with strong melodic elements that make it suitable even for deep trance sets. Mysterious, haunting and exciting the original mix manage to encapsulate what is good in deep progressive house music with arrangement and techniques that allow the musical elements to shine. On the other hand Manu Riga fresh from the release of his album presents a magnificent truly stunning deep progressive trance version packed with cinematic strings, warm synths, organic elements and magical atmosphere that will carry you away. The groove is minimal, the bassline is chunky, the sound atmosphere is creepy but so immersive. Following 2 previous superb releases on Perfecto Black we are absolutely delighted to welcome back Andre Sobota with his new track Six Days.

Six Days is arguably one of Andre’s best tracks to date. The dark, driving bass line grabs you instantly, locking you into the groove. Delicate synths are layered gradually, constantly progressing and evolving the track. An intricate, euphoric riff complements the bass line superbly, simply stunning. A truly outstanding track that fits the Perfecto Black ethos perfectly.

Helsinki’s Yotto (aka Otto Yliperttula) returns to Anjunadeep with his third ‘Essential New Tune’ in six months. Debuted by Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 with the prestigious title, it continues a remarkable run that has also seen both Otto’s recent remix of RÜFÜS and dark club hit ‘Personal Space’ awarded the gong.

Packed with trademark brooding atmosphere, subtle harmonics and power-house groove, ‘Aviate’ encapsulates the dark driving sound Yotto has developed over the past 12 months, earning him support from Pete Tong, Kölsch, Tensnake, Dusky, Thugfucker, Kidnap Kid and Gorgon City.

Yotto strips back the energy in ‘Crosswalk’, whilst retaining heaps of tension, masterfully using a single chiming riff to whip up drama in a rousing crescendo. An Ibiza terrace weapon in the making.

Aexfly aka Russian DJ and producer Alex Pronikov debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb two tracker Frozen Heart. Based in Moscow, young producer Aexfly released his first track - Across Universe - on Electronic Tree in September 2015. Focusing in on progressive house and tech house, this guy is fast becoming a much renowned name on the scene. No doubt we will be seeing much more from him in the future.

Frozen Heart gets off to a lively start with spritely percussions forming a solid rhythm as a punchy kick drum leads the way. A cool deep bass tone fades through as the layers continue to build and before you know it we're locked in to the powerful progressive vibes on offer. The track goes deeper and deeper with a growling bassline opening the doors. A big focus remains on the drum elements but on the break a sinister edge comes through with a superb harsh synth at the forefront. Top notch stuff from Aexfly on his debut, one to watch for sure.

Rising Sun opens with cool and crispy shuffling hats and scattered percussions that form effortlessly into a smooth rhythmic flow. A nice and chunky kick drum makes a showing and we soon find our feet stomping the floor. A cool, meandering bassline lurks on the low end as those tight drums keep the track on point. On the higher end we are led into a wonderfully cosmic sounding vibe as swirling pads and high pitched strings do their thing. On the break a fantastic synth takes over taking the track deeper before those pounding kick drums are let loose once more. An excellent display of deep progressive grooves that will satisfy any late night cravings.
