The Perspectives album concept sees Cosmic Gate embracing a phased release strategy, with each EP serving as a building block towards the full album, due later this year. Fusing elements of trance, progressivehouse, and melodic techno, ‘I’m On Fire’ takes listeners on an electrifying ride through swirling synths, ethereal vocals, and crashing drum patterns. As their first release of the year, the track sets the tone for 2025, reuniting Cosmic Gate with James French after the success of their 2024 collaboration ‘Take Me’. When Nic and Bossi debuted ‘Brave’ back in the spring, it quickly went down (due in no small part to Christian Burns’ wistfully ethereal delivery) as their boldest, most boundary-breaking excursion to date.


The ATB remix was born the moment Andre Tanneberger heard the original version of ‘Brave’ and felt an instant connection. Inspired to give the track his own unique touch, Andre reached out to his friend Nic Chagall, who provided him with the stems. With his fresh ‘Anthem Remix’ of ‘Brave’, ATB has reimagined the track, taking it to an entirely new corner of the dancefloor!


With his version, Andre instinctively finds the balance between ‘Brave’s innately deeper meanings and a production that powers the track later into the night. Rolling the drums, up-ticking the tempo and flaring his snares, he draws on plucked strings, airborne synths and pad & chord splendour to make its clubfloor point.

COSMIC GATE RELAUNCH THEIR RADIO SHOW WITH NEW DESIGN AND A WEEKLY YOUTUBE SHOW

It's been ten years since Cosmic Gate launched Wake Your Mind Radio and twelve months since it cruised past its landmark 500th episode. Over that time, it’s documented all aspects of the Grammy nominated group’s progression, one sublimely selected-and-mixed track at a time!

Now, to power Wake Your Mind Radio into its second decade, the show is receiving an audiovisual element, as Nic and Bossi bring the WYMR to YouTube. One of the duo’s favourite platforms, it’s an area in which they’ve amassed a considerable followship through their beloved rooftop livestreams from New York, Miami, Mexico and other locales.

Now, regular listeners starting to feel some separation anxiety, fear not – all WYMR’s much-loved mainstay features remain intact! Cosmic Gate’s Big Bang tune, the Private Playlist pick (Nic & Bossi’s current ‘all-genres’ selection) and the Throwback track all play their part in its 1hr line-up. Oh, and it’s still coming at you weekly, regular as clockwork too, so no stress there! 

Always keen to add an optical element to everything they do, from episode 554 you can also now experience Wake Your Mind Radio on YouTube. Backed by captures of Nic & Bossi doing that thing they do at clubs, arenas and festivals the world over, from this week you can add that extra dimension to your WYM Radio check-in

A first release holds a special place in an artist’s heart, but it’s also one (paradox-alert!) that they return to on rarer occasions. Case in point Cosmic Gate and their 1999 debut, ‘The Drums’ – a track thunderbolt they’ve not touched hands to since its first release.

Notably, it’s also rarely been given remix blessing either, with close to a decade and a half elapsing since Markus Schulz primed one for CG’s ‘Back 2 The Future’ album. So, when Maxim Lany reached out to Nic and Bossi to propose a rework of ‘The Drums’, it turned into a healthy back-and-forth on what direction it’d go in. Maxim’s remix game is of course way tight, with his work already gracing the discogs of Anjunadeep. Zerothree, REALM and others. With discussion concluded, green lights given, and stems received, the Ghent born-and-based DJ/producer began conjuring up some of his studio magic!


What Maxim’s arrived with though probably qualifies less as a remix in the classic sense and more as a ‘translation’ of ‘The Drums’. It retains all the spirit, essence and floor oomph of CG’s original, but pares back its harder, angular edges, recoding them as leaner, sleeker, more progressive sonics. Maxim and Cosmic Gate ‘double debuted’ ‘The Drums’ as part of their Tomorrowland 2024 sets, with its ‘Booming’ reaction giving the invested parties all the ‘mission-accomplished’ news they needed!


“Come With Me To The Cosmic Gate” introduced us both to ‘The Drums’ and CG themselves, and now Maxim Lany’s rewinding us back to where it all began! ‘The Drums’ beat deep today - find them wherever good music is streamed or sold!

Much has changed in the electronic music sphere since Cosmic Gate last minted a ‘Wake Your Mind Sessions’. It's time in which Nic & Bossi jumped wholeheartedly into the livestreaming space, embracing the medium with a succession of visually captivating sundown shows from rooftops around Miami, NYC, Mexico, Bali and most recently Ibiza. So beloved did they become (New York’s currently resting a 15 million views!) that fans began clamouring for both cross-platform streaming and a new instalment of ‘Wake Your Mind Sessions’! A natural solution had of course presented itself! Bringing all the auditory thrills of a Cosmic Gate performance direct to all channels, ‘005’ was a go!


So what’s on board!? Well, the double-disc-er is packed with music from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Joris Voorn, Rivo, Like Mike, MAGNUS, AVIRA, Eelke Kleijn, Klur and many more. Naturally, the mix-comp’s also the foremost platform for studio-hot productions and on ‘005’ Cosmic Gate are all about that! Amongst its thirty-plus tracks are ‘Trifecta’ and ‘Only You’ (with Arnej and Susie Ledge respectively) - new CG anthems just waiting in the wings! You’ll also find box-fresh remix-revisions of recent singles ‘Brave’ and ‘Just The Beginning’, as well as the classic ‘The Drums’. Further in still, you’ll find Wake Your Mind Records premieres aplenty, hot off the desks of Daniel Wanrooy, Noah Shah, Luccio and others.

All this audio coalesces into a dazzlingly-mixed, twin-disc odyssey, that journeys through deep house, tech, tech-trance and melodic techno … and right back out the other side! It’s time for another ‘Sessions’ session, folks and right here’s where you’ll find it!

Disc 1’s opening moments are formed by the stripped back syncopation of Klur’s ‘High Above’, while moody, fused, drum-dramatics from Arnej, Dennis de Laat and Adrian Font, Paige x Jordan Arts latterly keep its temperature gauge equally cool. Vocal numbers are initially sparse, but when deployed, carry all the more punch through their paucity. Case in point Rivo’s heady revision of Armin and Sharon Den Adel’s ‘In And Out Of Love’ and Noah Shah’s equally potent ‘Look For Me’. 

Clean, compelling rhythmics continue to forge the mix and it’s not until the likes of Scorz’s rework of ‘Just The Beginning’ and CG’s their most recent single, ‘Only You’ that melodic influences begin working their way in. Catalysed by Luccio’s ‘Unna’ and ‘JOI Part II’ from MAGNUS & Conor Ross, the 2024 remix of ‘Precious Heart’ from Tall Paul brings a fully pumping conclusion to Mix 1. 

Opening disc 2 of ‘Wake Your Mind Sessions’ with ‘Eyes Open, Mind Free’ from AVIRA was too good an opportunity for CG to miss – so they didn’t! It steels a Teutonically techno-ish march on the Prydz/Angello riffing ‘Wheel Me Out’ from Ginchy, which in turn opens the door to more mainstage material from Like Mike, Estiva, Daniel Wanrooy and the just-unleashed Sean Tyas’ remix of ‘Blame’.

At the midpoint AVIRA’s back, this time alongside Joris Voorn, with the duo’s take on Eye Q’s classic, ‘The Orange Theme’, while Cosmic Gate gets spacier still with ‘Welcome to Orion’, courtesy of Eelke Kleijn. Maxim Lany views ‘The Drums’ through a techno lens, before Nic & Bossi bring the fifth ‘Sessions’ to a mighty head with their current floor-roar, ‘Trifecta’!

If there’s one month that electronic music eyes are most fixed on Ibiza, it’s August … and Cosmic Gate’s are no exception! Sending hot season’s mercury that much higher, Nic & Bossi have teamed up with the island’s Amàre Beach Hotel Ibiza in Cala De Bou. Renowned for some of the most eye-catching backdrops La Isla Blanca has to offer, CG this week performed an emotionally stirring sundown set from the resort’s rooftop.

Music-wise, naturally it’s no ordinary livestream either, rather one that’s an-hour-and-a-half packed with upcoming CG releases, exclusive first-listens, new Wake Your Mind Records material and remix premieres aplenty!


Foremost amongst those is the new single ‘Trifecta’, itself a ‘trifecta’ between Nic, Bossi and distinguished Canadian producer Arnej. Their trio’s first reteaming since ‘Sometimes They Come Back For More’ a dozen years ago, the track’s a brooding, pulsing, propellant slice of tech, that’s all set to roll across late summer floors.
