[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Eelke Kleijn & Tube & Berger feat. Leo Wood’s “Beg You” emerges as a captivating masterpiece that seamlessly blends the intricacies of melodic house and techno with the hypnotic pulse of progressive house. From the very first beat, the track establishes a commanding rhythm and groove, driven by thumping kicks and pulsating dark basslines that lay the foundation for a highly danceable and immersive experience. The energy flow and momentum remain unwavering throughout, with carefully crafted transitions, drops, and build-ups that elevate the listener’s emotional journey. Dynamic percussion layers, pounding drums, and subtle syncopations invigorate the senses, creating a driving force that is both intense and elegantly controlled. The melodic hooks and harmonic layers are a standout element of the production, with lush synth textures and warm tonal progressions enveloping the soundscape. The use of effects and spatial design is masterfully implemented, offering depth and dimension that captivate the listener on both headphones and large club systems. Each sonic element is placed with intention, contributing to a cohesive storytelling arc that resonates emotionally. Leo Wood’s ethereal vocal performance, enhanced by tasteful application of reverb, delay, and modulation effects, adds profound emotional resonance while ensuring the vocals integrate harmoniously with the instrumental arrangement. The dynamic range and loudness balance are finely tuned, allowing for impactful drops without compromising clarity, making it ideal for DJs to incorporate into diverse sets with seamless BPM consistency, cue points, and loop potential. The track’s originality of structure and creative artistry shines through in its ability to balance intimacy with peak-time energy. Its hypnotic progression and immersive atmosphere foster not only excitement on the dancefloor but also a meditative quality that engages the mind and body. Scientific studies in music therapy and psychology have demonstrated that rhythmic and melodic electronic music can enhance mood, reduce stress, and even boost cognitive performance (Thoma et al., 2013; Ferguson & Sheldon, 2013). The steady 128 BPM tempo and dark yet uplifting tonal palette make “Beg You” particularly well-suited for fitness and wellness classes, where maintaining rhythmic continuity promotes physical endurance and psychological flow states (Edworthy & Waring, 2006). The emotional resonance of the track, coupled with its hypnotic energy, can stimulate the release of dopamine and endorphins, enhancing feelings of pleasure and motivation while potentially supporting mental health and mindfulness practices. Its catchiness and replay value are undeniable, as is its suitability for both club and festival environments where crowd reaction potential is maximized. The track’s intro and outro structures are intelligently designed for easy mixing, offering DJs opportunities to create dynamic energy arcs in their sets. The cohesion and storytelling embedded within its layers create a holistic experience that transcends typical dancefloor functionality, making it a track that lingers in memory long after the last note fades. “Beg You” exemplifies how high-level sound design and production quality, coupled with artistic identity and creativity, can deliver a piece of music that is both technically excellent and emotionally transformative, providing listeners with a sonic journey that elevates mood, inspires movement, and fosters a sense of communal connection. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

[item value="10"]DALÛ, James Trystan & Lloyd Barwood - Nocturnal 018 [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] The three tracks featured in Nocturnal 018—James Trystan’s “Magnum Opus,” Lloyd Barwood’s “Into the Portal,” and DALÛ’s “Fading Echoes”—collectively deliver an exceptional listening experience that exemplifies technical mastery and artistic depth. “Magnum Opus,” with its 126 BPM melodic techno foundation, captivates through its tight rhythmic drive, highly distinctive basslines, and playful percussive elements that maintain an infectious groove. The track’s synth hook serves as a harmonic anchor, giving structure to its cinematic atmosphere, while warm vocal layers enrich emotional resonance. The transitions between sections are seamless, with drops and build-ups that expertly manipulate energy flow, maintaining momentum and ensuring high replay value. Lloyd Barwood’s “Into the Portal,” a 125 BPM progressive house journey, demonstrates precision in sound design and spatial engineering. The pulsating basslines and airy synths generate forward motion, while hi-energy kicks inject both tension and excitement. Barwood’s arrangement is structurally original, balancing moody harmonics with uplifting climaxes, making it highly effective in club and festival settings. Its dynamic range and loudness balance reflect professional production standards, with each effect carefully placed to enhance immersion and provide DJ-friendly cue points and loop potential. DALÛ’s “Fading Echoes” stands out as a driving melodic techno anthem, featuring bright synth layers, warm string pads, and dark, emotive vocals that add narrative context. Its anthemic climax amplifies both crowd reaction potential and emotional impact, presenting a cohesive storytelling arc. The track’s BPM consistency and well-structured intro and outro make it ideal for seamless set integration, while its creative effects and spatial depth create a fully immersive atmosphere. Scientific studies support the positive effects of music like this on mental health and wellness. Research indicates that rhythmic, melodic, and harmonically rich music can reduce stress, enhance mood, and stimulate dopamine release (Thoma et al., 2013; Chanda & Levitin, 2013). The tracks’ driving beats and energetic flow are also highly suitable for fitness and wellness classes, as uptempo electronic music has been shown to boost physical performance and endurance by synchronizing movement with rhythm (Terry et al., 2020). The cinematic and emotionally resonant characteristics of these productions can foster mindfulness, support mental well-being, and create immersive experiences that enhance social connectedness on the dance floor. In conclusion, Nocturnal 018 exemplifies top-tier melodic techno and progressive house, with every criterion—from groove and harmonic layering to originality, storytelling, and production quality—executed at the highest level. These tracks not only excel in technical performance but also offer measurable benefits to mental and physical wellness, firmly securing their place as memorable and functional pieces for both personal listening and live dance settings. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

[item value="10"]Sonickraft - Tearing Us Apart/Bohemia[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Sonickraft’s latest dual release on Days Like Nights showcases their mastery of melodic house and techno with a touch of indie dance artistry. Tearing Us Apart runs at 123 BPM and features a memorable synth-driven melody layered atop a commanding groove. The track’s production embraces punchy basslines, a tight kick, and robotic spoken vocal samples that create a hypnotic sonic tapestry. Its clean transitions, polished drops, and fluid energy flow contribute to a seamless listening experience and a dancefloor-ready profile. Technically, Tearing Us Apart demonstrates advanced production techniques, including precise sidechain compression to let the kick and bass breathe, stereo imaging for spatial depth, and the judicious use of reverb and delay to craft an immersive atmosphere. The dynamic range is carefully balanced, allowing every element from the driving percussion to the ethereal synths to shine without crowding the mix. The track’s arrangement highlights Sonickraft’s strength in storytelling, with progressive build-ups, tension-and-release drops, and a structure that maintains BPM consistency for DJ-friendly mixing. Bohemia, clocking in at 122 BPM, drifts into an indie dance-meets-melodic techno territory, blending pounding drums, pulsating basslines, and an emotive main melody. The track’s production emphasizes harmonic layering and textural depth, with melancholic electro-pop motifs that evoke a sense of introspection and emotional resonance. Techniques such as filtered risers, subtle use of phasers, and automated panning enhance the track’s movement, making it feel both expansive and intimate. Beyond the technical craftsmanship, these tracks have noteworthy positive effects on mental health, fitness, and wellness. Research indicates that rhythmic, repetitive electronic music can reduce perceived stress, enhance mood, and promote flow states (Thoma et al., 2013; Pelletier, 2004). The hypnotic grooves and entrancing melodies of Sonickraft’s tracks are ideal for wellness classes like yoga or cycling, supporting improved focus and endurance (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). Their carefully engineered energy flow can induce a state of mild euphoria, often linked to increased dopamine release during rhythmic musical engagement (Salimpoor et al., 2011). From a fitness and group exercise perspective, the BPM range of 122–123 is optimal for activities such as spin classes, low-impact aerobics, or dance-based workouts, facilitating synchronization of movement with rhythm. Additionally, the emotional qualities of both tracks—uplifting yet meditative—align with findings that music with positive valence enhances motivation and adherence to physical routines (Terry et al., 2020). #PureGold Loveit [/content]

[item value="10"]Eelke Kleijn, Monkey Safari & Emily Roberts - Watching Over Me[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] “Watching Over Me,” originally featured on Eelke Kleijn’s Connected album, receives a stunning reimagining for the upcoming remix series with Monkey Safari’s signature touch. This 122 BPM deep, dreamy melodic house track blends authentic melodic storytelling with a vibrant, groove-driven production. The remix opens with a smooth yet engaging kick, underpinned by deep, rolling basslines that immediately establish a warm and inviting atmosphere. The layering of synths is deliberate and sophisticated, creating a rich harmonic bed for Emily Roberts’ ethereal vocal lines, which are occasionally transformed into an instrumental element of the track itself through creative modulation and reverb application. From a production standpoint, the remix excels in its attention to rhythmic detail and spatial design. The groove is powered by a combination of tight percussion, subtle shakers, and offbeat hi-hats that maintain forward momentum without overcrowding the mix. Monkey Safari’s touch is evident in the playful vocal chops, which are treated with stereo delay and subtle sidechain compression to enhance dynamic movement. The midrange is carefully sculpted to ensure that the harmonic layers—synth pads, plucks, and atmospheric effects—breathe without clashing. Transitions are seamless, with risers and filtered sweeps guiding the listener through peaks and valleys that maintain the track’s energy flow, making it an ideal candidate for both club and festival settings. Beyond its technical mastery, “Watching Over Me” offers profound emotional resonance. The track’s lush harmonic progressions and hypnotic groove foster a meditative and uplifting listening experience. Scientific research has shown that melodic house and downtempo electronic music can positively affect mood and cognitive function. According to studies published in Frontiers in Psychology (2020) and Journal of Positive Psychology (2019), listening to rhythmically consistent and harmonically rich music can reduce anxiety, elevate dopamine levels, and enhance focus. For fitness and wellness classes, this track’s BPM and consistent energy flow are perfectly suited for yoga, pilates, or cycling sessions, as its dynamic yet soothing nature helps synchronize body movement with rhythm, improving both physical performance and mental well-being. In a live DJ set, the track’s structure and BPM consistency offer excellent cue points and looping potential. The intro and outro are cleanly arranged, allowing for seamless transitions in multi-hour sets. Its dynamic range is well-balanced, providing peaks of energy that can lift a crowd without ever feeling overwhelming. The rework’s catchy melodic hooks and immersive soundscape ensure high replay value and strong crowd reaction potential, while the subtle complexity of its arrangement makes it stand out as a piece of art in its own right.“Watching Over Me” is a masterclass in melodic house production, combining technical precision, emotional depth, and functional versatility. Its ability to both energize and soothe makes it not only a club favorite but also a powerful tool in wellness and fitness environments. Quality from start to finish, this remix is a testament to the collaborative brilliance of Eelke Kleijn, Monkey Safari, and Emily Roberts. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

Genre-defying Dutch DJ and producer Eelke Kleijn’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, 'Connected', is out now via DAYS like NIGHTS/Armada Music. The album marks a new chapter in his creative journey, fusing his progressive house roots with a fresh dive into the indie dance sphere. With 'Connected', Eelke explores new sonic territory, leaning heavily into melodic vocals throughout the album – something he’s never done before, setting this project apart from anything in his discography to date.

Coinciding with the album release is a documentary of the same title, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into Kleijn’s personal and artistic evolution. The film traces his journey from his hometown of Rotterdam to the vibrant scenes of Latin America, where he has risen to international stardom. Featuring reflections from longtime manager Jeroen Fontein and Argentine house icon Hernán Cattáneo, the documentary dives into Eelke’s creative growth and the story behind his long-awaited album 'Connected'.

“I’m really looking forward to sharing a piece of the thought process behind the album,” says Eelke Kleijn. “And to giving a glimpse of what life looks like on the road and during shows.”

Although the all-vocal album concept was born in 2016, the project has undergone several waves of sonic evolution. What began as a more narrow-minded focus on dance and synthesizers has since expanded to embrace a full spectrum of instruments and sounds. This shift was fueled by the creative block Eelke encountered after years of touring during the post-COVID electronic music boom, prompting him to explore new musical territory.

Reflecting on the album, Eelke Kleijn shares: “Something that I want to achieve with all my albums is that they need to stand the test of time- I hope if anybody listens to it 20 years from now, it will still sound fresh and innovative.”

The 12-track album features the 2023 single ‘Transmission’, which gained international success following a remix by Joris Voorn, as well as lead singles ‘The Way I Feel’ featuring Jamie McCool, and ‘Watching Over Me’ featuring the emotive vocals of Emily Roberts. On May 2nd, Eelke Kleijn will take the stage at Paradiso in Amsterdam for an exclusive live performance of his Connected album. This will be the first time he plays the album live, featuring a unique visual experience where cloth and light merge in a stunning projection.

[item value="10"]Eelke Kleijn feat. Josha Daniel - Lost In The Deep[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Eelke Kleijn’s ‘Lost In The Deep’, the seventh single from his forthcoming album ‘Connected’, is a masterclass in blending technical precision with emotive resonance. This indie dance/deep melodic house track operates at a meticulously calibrated 126 BPM, providing a rhythmic foundation that’s both driving and hypnotic. The track’s production process reveals Kleijn’s signature approach to sound design—where organic elements intersect seamlessly with electronic textures, giving the track its distinctive live-like feel. The backbone of ‘Lost In The Deep’ lies in its groovy, well-structured basslines that pulse with warmth and depth. Kleijn employs sidechain compression techniques to allow the bass to breathe dynamically with the kick drum, creating that classic, undulating house groove. The kick itself is deep and moody, crafted using layered samples with subtle saturation to give it a punch without overwhelming the mix, maintaining a playful yet grounded vibe. Guitar riffs weave through the composition, adding an unexpected but refreshing indie touch. These riffs are processed with delay and reverb effects to create spatial depth, enhancing the ethereal quality of the track. Automation of these effects helps in building tension and release throughout the song, keeping the listener engaged from start to finish. Josha Daniel’s vocals are the ethereal thread tying the sonic elements together. Recorded with high-fidelity condenser microphones to capture every nuanced inflection, the vocals are then treated with reverb and slight pitch modulation to achieve a hypnotic, otherworldly quality. The mixing process ensures these vocals sit prominently without clashing with the lush instrumental layers. Additionally, subtle background textures—like atmospheric pads and filtered synth sweeps—are intricately woven into the soundscape. These elements are introduced and modulated through meticulous automation, giving the track a dynamic, evolving feel that mirrors the emotional journey Kleijn aims to convey. ‘Lost In The Deep’ isn’t just a track; it’s an immersive experience, showcasing Eelke Kleijn’s prowess in marrying technical sophistication with heartfelt musical storytelling. The result is a vibrant, danceable track that moves both the body and the soul. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

Extending the journey of Corren Cavini’s ‘Solutions’, DAYS like NIGHTS label boss Eelke Kleijn and Hollt provide alternate versions to prolong the audial magic. Doubling down on the dreamy atmosphere and hypnotic rhythms, these two renditions — one more energetic and trance-inducing, the other more dramatic and suspenseful — will find their way onto playlists, shortlists and dance floors in no time.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Corren Cavini’s “Solutions” returns with two exceptional remixes. Eelke Kleijn, the label’s proprietor, presents a distinct interpretation that effectively incorporates the primary melody, resulting in a captivating and memorable riff. Infused with rave and trance elements, the 132 BPM track maintains a dynamic flow, characterized by the interplay of various melodic layers atop the classic rave groove that retains its progressive house appeal and is suitable for peak-time performances. Hollt’s remix delves into the deep melodic house genre, featuring 125 BPM deep, pulsating basslines, chunky grooves, thumping kicks, dystopian distorted synths, and the robotic vocal in full effect. The remix builds anticipation relentlessly, culminating in the highest point of a progressive house or melodic techno set. Both remixes possess a unique character and resonate with the enthusiasm of club audiences. #PureGold - Love It [/content]

Weaving Leo Wood’s wanting vocal into a sensual and hypnotic production, Eelke Kleijn delivers a somber cry for adoration that pulls at the heartstrings.

Lyrics:
Thought we would last forever
If you come closer
I'll give you something to remember me by
One kiss and you'll be all mine

Oh won’t you set me straight
Don't leave me hanging, say it's just too late
Cos I can wait if you got room to love, to love
If you got room to love, to love

And can you hear me?
I'm gonna beg you
Darling, darling please
Don't leave

If you go I’ll pull you closer
If you can feel my heart beat
Maybe that's what you need
I'm on my knees
Oh darling please

If you've got room to love, to love
I'll give you of mine, and all I got
So darling please
Don't leave

If you've got room to love, to love
I'll give you of mine, and all I got
So darling please
Don't leave

Don't leave, I'm begging for your love.
Oh, oh

Don't leave, I'm begging for your love.
Oh, oh

If you've got room to love, to love
I'll give you of mine, and all I got
So darling please
Don't leave

If you've got room to love, to love
I'll give you of mine, and all I got
So darling please
Don't leave
