Clocking in at 142 BPM, this track masterfully blends euphoric trance elements with mainstage and techno rave influences, ensuring its place as a standout club hit. The track showcases a meticulously crafted structure that begins with a powerful intro characterized by heavy, punchy kicks and tight, bouncy drums. The rhythmic foundation is enhanced by dynamic percussive layers, adding depth and drive to the beat. The basslines are robust, featuring a punchy, rolling design that complements the higher-frequency leads, creating an energetic groove that keeps the momentum alive. One of the standout features is the main synth hook in the breakdown. Designed using a combination of saw-tooth waveforms and lush reverb effects, the melody evokes nostalgia, reminiscent of early 2000s trance classics. The use of sidechain compression gives the synths a pulsing effect, syncing perfectly with the kick drum to maintain rhythmic cohesion. The breakdown is crafted with atmospheric pads and arpeggiated synth layers that build anticipation. The aliens return for another trip around the galaxy. AA Meeting doing what they do best with a high voltage, driving trance riffer that draws influence from the Vandit glory days but with a fresh, modern approach to the production. This is the one to play when you need to take the roof off...
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]AA Meeting, the dynamic collaboration between trance legends John Askew and Activa, showcases an exceptional blend of technical prowess and creative flair in their track "Flashback." Operating at a vigorous 142 BPM, this uplifting instrumental trance masterpiece exemplifies meticulous production techniques and a masterful grasp of sonic architecture. From a technical perspective, "Flashback" is anchored by its robust arrangement and immersive sound design. The foundation is laid with energetic, pulsating basslines crafted through precise sidechain compression, ensuring they maintain a rhythmic synergy with the track's thumping kicks. These kicks, likely enhanced with layered samples and subtle transient shaping, provide a driving force that underscores the track's relentless energy. The percussion elements, including the pounding drums, are meticulously processed with high-pass filtering and reverb automation to create spatial depth and dynamic movement. The melancholic piano melody that leads the track introduces an emotional nuance, its reverb-drenched timbre intertwining seamlessly with the underlying acid overtones. These acid lines, likely generated using classic analog synths with resonant filter tweaks and modulation envelopes, inject a raw, hypnotic edge that contrasts beautifully with the melodic components. As the track progresses, big swirling synths come into play, constructed through layered oscillator stacks and complex modulation matrices. These synths build tension and anticipation, employing techniques like filter sweeps, LFO-driven panning, and gradual reverb decay reduction to heighten intensity. The breakdown stands out for its extended, atmospheric quality, featuring a rich tapestry of synthy plucks and airy harps. The plucks, possibly achieved with subtractive synthesis and careful envelope shaping, provide a crisp, ethereal texture. The harps add a delicate, whimsical touch, enhanced by lush reverb tails and stereo widening effects. This section masterfully builds towards the climax, utilizing crescendoing white noise sweeps, pitch risers, and strategic silence to amplify the eventual drop. The climax itself is a payoff of epic proportions, designed for that quintessential "hands in the air" moment. The elements converge in a powerful synthesis of melody, rhythm, and texture, showcasing AA Meeting's deep understanding of trance music's emotional and technical dimensions. #PureGold indeed—"Flashback" is a testament to the intricate art of trance production, where every sonic detail is crafted with precision and passion. #LoveIT [/content]

We are changing to an exciting new format which will allow us to release music from anyone and not just the seven focus artists on the label.
While the existing format of the label does give a focused spotlight on a hugely talented group of core artists, we also feel it excludes so much good music that we get sent, music that fits our mantra and vibe perfectly.
Also with this evolution we want to evolve our booking policy for VII events - meaning we will now book artists from the list of producers that have previously released on the label. These changes will avoid repetition and predictability, two things we don’t want on our path forwards.
With this exciting change we feel our brand will become more diverse and above all will be able to present a much wider range of music - but all aligned with the core sound and style.
And so with that change we’re now proud to present our first VII release that falls under the new format - this is Drop It from the utterly brilliant Zach Zlov who we’re thrilled to now bring under our wing with his futuristic tech sound that that been blowing our minds for years.
A new chapter begins with Drop It, by @zachzlov - out on VII this Friday!
John Askew commented about the track: “I can’t tell you how excited I am about this release. It’s well documented that Zach is my favourite tech producer and I love everything he makes but this one takes the fucking biscuit. It is IN-SANE. I played this out for the first time on my Asia tour last year, including at Transmission during our AA Meeting set and it just takes the dance floor apart. The quality of the production is amazing, so full, powerful. Zach is a master and it’s an honour to have him release on VII”.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] VII is an underground collective of boundary-pushing artists, renowned for their refusal to conform to musical norms. Their latest offering, "Drop It" by Zach Zlov, exemplifies this ethos with a sophisticated blend of dark tech-inspired elements and meticulous sound design. From a technical standpoint, "Drop It" is 142 BPM masterclass in production. The track opens with wild, driving dark techy basslines, crafted through precise layering of distorted sub-bass frequencies and mid-range growls, creating a rich, textured low-end. The pounding moody percussion is built using a combination of synthesized drum hits and processed live drum samples, giving the rhythm section both punch and organic flair. The kicks are tightly compressed, offering a driving force that anchors the track, while the live-like drums add dynamic nuances, achieved through subtle velocity changes and reverb automation. Zach Zlov’s use of dark, swirling synths adds another layer of complexity. These synths are likely created with analog gear or analog emulation plugins, enriched with modulation effects such as phasers and flangers to achieve a swirling, evolving texture. This contributes to the track’s rough, raw atmosphere and intense drive, effectively immersing the listener. One of the standout features is the AI-produced spoken vocal samples. These samples are not mere placeholders but integral components designed to hypnotize the crowd. The AI algorithms probably involved text-to-speech synthesis with pitch and formant modulation to achieve a unique, robotic yet human-like timbre. The vocal processing includes delay and reverb effects, adding spatial depth and enhancing the hypnotic quality. The breakdown section is a testament to Zlov’s prowess in tension building. It’s mysterious and dystopic, featuring siren-like sounds that are crafted using pitch-bent synth layers combined with filtered white noise sweeps. The background ambiance is enriched with subtle granular synthesis effects, creating an otherworldly soundscape that maintains listener anticipation. As the track builds towards its climax, automation plays a critical role. Filter cutoffs, resonance boosts, and gradual increases in reverb size and decay times create a sense of rising energy. The climax is characterized by an unstoppable surge of sound, with head-down, aggressive energy that is both uplifting and cathartic—hallmarks of a perfect tech trance experience. "Drop It" is more than just a track; it’s a meticulously #PureBassPower #LoveIT[/content]

This innovative approach involves extensive vocal processing, where Cari's voice undergoes heavy chopping, gating, and compressing. These techniques transform her vocals into integral components of the track's melodic structure, blending seamlessly with the sharp psy tech basslines that drive the track forward. In terms of rhythmic elements, "Road Ahead" impresses with its edgy kicks and thumping percussion, forming a robust backbone that propels the track. The percussive elements are complemented by a plethora of sound effects and samples, all skillfully woven into the fabric of the track. This creates an experimental and playful arrangement that is a hallmark of tech trance, pushing the envelope of traditional genre conventions. The production values are undeniably high, with each element meticulously crafted to contribute to the track's overall dark and roasted sonic palette. The psy tech basslines are razor-sharp, cutting through the mix with precision and power, ensuring that "Road Ahead" maintains its energy on the dancefloor. For DJs and producers entrenched in the tech or psy trance genres, this track offers a distinctive flair that is both captivating and enduring, capable of keeping audiences entranced for hours on end. Truly a #PureGold piece of music that fans of the genre will cherish. Love IT[/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Ferry Tayle and his good friend TonKs have once again displayed their mastery in trance music with their Mirage project, releasing the track "Take Your Flight" on the renowned label, Dreamstate. This track is a testament to their technical prowess and innovative production techniques, offering a journey into the heart of trance music. The track opens with energetic, pulsating basslines that immediately set the scene for what’s to come. These basslines are meticulously layered with thumping, pounding kicks that form a solid rhythmic foundation, creating an irresistible drive that propels the listener forward. The percussive elements are sharp and precise, meticulously engineered to enhance the track's dynamic energy without overshadowing other elements. A standout feature of "Take Your Flight" is its use of intense acid overtones. These acid sounds are skillfully woven into the composition, adding a layer of complexity and excitement that keeps listeners engaged. Complementing these are ravey, synthy stabs, which are strategically placed to increase tension and anticipation, leading up to a monumental breakdown. The breakdown itself is a masterclass in sci-fi thematic elements, incorporating a cool and futuristic robotic spoken vocal sample. This element is not merely decorative; it’s carefully integrated to invite listeners—the trancers—to metaphorically spread their wings and embark on a sonic adventure. The breakdown teases with its length and depth, offering a moment of introspective calm before the storm. As the track builds, a melodic synthy layer elevates the experience, creating an ethereal atmosphere that transcends the ordinary. This melodic element seamlessly transitions into a powerful and energetic climax, characterized by a massive synth hook that dominates the foreground while maintaining harmony with the track's foundational elements. The production on "Take Your Flight" is nothing short of exceptional. Every sound is meticulously crafted and placed, resulting in a cohesive sonic experience that resonates with both the heart and mind. Ferry Tayle and TonKs have created not just a track, but a journey that keeps clubbers moving from start to finish. Their attention to detail and innovative approach ensure that "Take Your Flight" will be a staple in trance sets, captivating audiences worldwide and earning its place as #PureGold in the hearts of trance lovers. In conclusion, "Take Your Flight" showcases Ferry Tayle and TonKs' ability to blend technical precision with emotional depth, a combination that makes this track a standout release on Dreamstate. #PureGold #LoveiT[/content]

Already played by the likes of Will Atkinson and Bryan Kearney, ‘Holding The Light’ ties Paul Webster’s immaculate production with the haunting vocals of acclaimed vocalist Bo Bruce. Radiating love, warmth and the hope for brighter days across incandescent melodies and harmonies of the highest order, this track tugs on the heartstrings like few tracks can.
Hoping you'll come while they burn through the night
Didn't you see the fire
All that we lost
Didn't you hear me cry
Hands in the dust
I drew a map, to bring you to me
You shut your eyes and now you can't see
I walked away, but you didn't call
What if you don't love me anymore?
Didn't I lose my way
Holding the lights
Hoping you'll come while they burn through the night
Didn't you see the fire
All that we lost
Didn't you hear me cry
Hands in the dust
I know that I tried everything
But we hurled the dust, ash on the wind
Didn't I lose my way
Holding the lights
Hoping you'll come while they burn through the night
Didn't you see the fire
All that we lost
Didn't you hear me cry
Hands in the dust
Watching the walls cave in
And you're standing still
And everyone's turning in
Hands on the wheel
You had my what?
You had, my heart
And I don't wanna love you. oh ohh
... if you can't

Maximizing the dance floor mayhem, BK adds to his series of hard dance stompers with another auditory homerun. Decked out with crude kick drums, hypnotic offbeat bass and a synth melody that sticks, ‘Encore’ is what fans will be begging for at every BK show this year.
Dimitris Kechagias Review: [review top="1"] [item value="10"]BK - Encore [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]BK, a prominent figure in the hard house and trance genres of the United Kingdom, has a rich history and discography. Many consider him a legendary artist who has significantly influenced the production of other artists. Encore is a captivating 142 BPM hard house track with influences from tribal trance. It possesses all the essential elements to serve as a compelling bridge between uplifting trance sets and harder sounds. The track features stomping techno drums, bouncy basslines, and metallic kicks, complemented by superb choir-like vocals. Notably, the extended and atmospheric breakdown reveals BK’s signature anthemic synthy riff, reminiscent of classic trance tracks from the late 1990s. The production is solid and cohesive, maintaining the listener’s engagement and ensuring an immersive experience. BK’s anthemic, euphoric, and powerful sound perfectly encapsulates the resurgence of hard house music. It is unfortunate that Tony De Vit is no longer with us, but his contributions to the genre continue to inspire. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
