Greggs Tuesday night have hosted an exclusive DJ performance from acclaimed UK dance music artists, Schak and Will Atkinson, to celebrate the release of their new track with Abi Flynn: ‘Yesterday’. The performance was held “after hours” within Greggs’ iconic Northumberland Street shop during a unique “lock-in” style event, open to fans on a first-come-first-served basis. The duo made a splash by delivering a back-to-back DJ set and were joined by artist and vocalist Abi Flynn who delivered a live performance of ‘Yesterday’.

In partnership with events company Lab54, the event kicked off at 10pm and saw the Greggs shop transformed into an intimate club setting. Fans formed queues to experience the unique “lock-in” event that saw fellow British DJ and producer Charlie Boon start the night with a thirty-minute warm-up set before Schak and Will Atkinson delivered an exhilarating euro-trance inspired set led by new track ‘Yesterday’. The track was released on Friday 3rd May on Armada Music where it was selected as the coveted “Hottest Record” by Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1’s Dance Party show.

This isn’t the first time Schak has performed in an unexpected “venue”, as the high-energy performer has made waves across the region in previous years with guerilla style performances on the Shields Ferry, Tyne and Wear Metro and even inside B&Q. Schak, in addition to the other artists, even donned Greggs aprons and caps to mark the occasion!

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Schak & Will Atkinson x Abi Flynn collaborate for the ultimate nostalgic feel good balearic trancer called Yesterday. The track combines sounds from the late 90's with balearic melodies and even feel good pizzicatto riffs. The breakdown unleashes some massive colorful euphoric synthy stabs along with carefree piano chords merged perfectly with the pop touched female vocals with soulful and radio friendly tone. The result is a record that can be played again and again and not getting bored from it even for a second. Already championed by the beloved BBC Radio 1. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

About Schak

Greatly inspired by his Newcastle roots, Schak’s music is influenced by the distinctly Northeast sound of music subculture Makina; an energetic blend of happy hardcore, scouse house, donk, and rapid-fire MC-ing. Schak’s music also provides a cathartic outlet for ravers and invokes a deep sense of community that he continues to project in his artistry. 2023 has already been huge for Schak, with highlights including his legendary Mixmag Lab stream that treated a ballistic crowd to his second single “Inferno” and performing an official halftime set before the historic Newcastle United vs. Southampton game at the Carabao Cup in St James’ Park. Continuing his upward trajectory, the producer enjoyed a busy summer of Ibiza dates, alongside Patrick Topping and Calvin Harris, in addition to performances at festivals like Creamfields, Nass, Hideout, and more.

Genix announces new album & tour 'YOU.ME.NOW' with rave-centric single 'Dance Like Nobody's Watching / On & On'.

Accomplished DJ and producer Damion 'Damo' Houchen, a.k.a. Genix, has kept momentum high since the release of his debut album, '199X', in 2021. Recent years have seen the Anjunabeats linchpin close Above & Beyond's Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheatre, launch his club-oriented 'Warehouse55' EP series and event brand, and sell out two headline Warehouse 55 events in London and Los Angeles.

Genix's last EP on Anjunabeats, 'Warehouse55 (Volume 2)', earned support from Sasha, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Rebūke, Armin van Buuren and more. He followed that up last year with an extensive North American tour, and remixes of Andrew Bayer & Vök's 'No Silence' and OceanLab's 'Beautiful Together'.

'Dance Like Nobody's Watching / On & On' is the latest single from Genix's second studio album 'YOU.ME.NOW', out 14th June on Anjunabeats. The floor-filling double A-side arrives hot on the heels of 'Lights, Sound, Camera, Action', a collaborative single with flowanastasia that featured on BBC Match of the Day and saw multiple spins on Sirius XM BPM and Diplo's Revolution, as well as 'Dependent On You', which earned support from Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 and Ben Malone on Kiss FM.

Building on years of innovation and versatility across the spectrum of electronic music, Genix comes full circle on his upcoming album 'YOU.ME.NOW'. An established DJ and producer who's maintained his status as an innovator for the duration of his career, and following an unbeatable run of releases that's cemented him as one of the leading artists on Anjunabeats, Genix was inspired to look towards his roots on his sophomore album.

At a time when the UK club scene is embracing the euphoric energy of 90s rave, 'YOU.ME.NOW' is an album that is perfectly suited for the here and now. Available to pre-order now on 2xLP splatter vinyl.

Genix embarks on a headline tour this June spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, with stops at Concorde 2 in Brighton, Anjunadeep Explorations in Albania, New York, Outernet in London and many more to be announced. Tickets available at anjunabeats.com/genix.

Strap yourself in and keep your loved ones close, because Will Atkinson’s latest on Armada Music is one hell of a ride. With conspicuous offbeat bass, feisty synths and a rhythm executed at breakneck speed, ‘Seatbelt’ is a full-throttle celebration of life.

Dimitri Kechagias review:

[item value="10"]Will Atkinson feat. La La Fiesta - Seatbelt [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Will Atkinson is one of the most imaginative and successful underground trance DJ who does his big jump to the mainstream. His second offering for the big Ibiza dancefloors and daytime radio playlists is featuring La La Fiesta on vocals called Seatbelt. If you like it fast and furious like a crazy ride then this bomber is for your ears and feet only. Old school infusions merged with rave infused organ riffs and ultra catchy vocals work perfectly to raise the blood pressure to the maximum. Will doesn't take life seriously and his humorous attitude is truly refreshing against all the posers and glamour seekers. Its definitely a big record that will find its way to dancefloors and mainstream audiences. #PureHurricane Love IT[/content]

Fully cemented as one of the finest DJs of the Ibiza generation, B Jones’ success is not only attributed to her musicality, but also her unrelenting work ethic, humble attitude and strong values. As a Spanish figurehead of the global fight for equality in electronic music she has also given talks at the International Women’s Day Congress and the Spanish Congress of Equality.

Gabry Ponte, the GRAMMY©-nominated artist known worldwide for co-producing the globally acclaimed hit single ‘Blue (Da Ba Dee)’ as part of Eurodance act Eiffel 65, has teamed up with world renowned DJ and producer Robbie Rivera for a joint rework of his 2001 classic ‘Funk-A-Tron’. The original, released over twenty years ago, reached #14 in the UK Official Independent Singles Chart in 2002.

Gabry Ponte and Robbie Rivera’s exhilarating update of ‘Funk-A-Tron’ does not mess about. Firing on all cylinders with the heavy kick drums, fiery vocal, pulsating bass and iconic riff, this modern rework is set to do damage on the 2024 festival circuit.

"I've always had a special consideration for Robbie Rivera and his energetic and infectious style,” says Gabry Ponte. “Introducing a new perspective to the incredible sound of ‘Funk-A-Tron’ without losing the charm of the original was made possible by staying close to Robbie in the production process, which was a dream. I hope fans of the original love this version just as much!"

‘Hated On (Funkatron)’ is available now on Armada Music HERE.

Scottish up-and-comers KIMMIC have joined forces with legendary singer-songwriter/DJ Ultra Naté on the much-anticipated release of certified anthem ‘Party Girl (Gonna Do)’. First teased on TikTok and SoundCloud, this fiery rework of Ultra Naté’s Top 10 1995 classic ‘Party Girl (Turn Me Loose)’ has sparked massive buzz with 1M views and counting across both platforms, and is on track to becoming a high-energy set staple.

“I wrote the song 'Party Girl' during the heyday of 90's New York underground clubbing culture for an indie film that went on to become a bonafide cult classic and iconic Parker Posey’s film debut,” says Ultra Naté. "It’s great to see the spirit of the 90’s is alive and well with quality songs from the era still inspiring the kids, and it’s even more exciting when it’s one of my own because we put so much love into the work.”

Originally released on New York City’s prestigious King Street Sounds label, ‘Party Girl (Turn Me Loose)’ went on to peak at #6 on the US Dance Charts. Now, KIMMIC has harnessed Ultra Naté’s scintillating vocals to assemble a dance floor weapon ready to cause damage across clubs globally.
“This has been such a wicked tune to play out, and we’ve loved seeing the crowd reaction,” KIMMIC says. “We’re grateful to have the opportunity to jump on such a classic and can’t wait for this track to be yours.”
Ultra Naté adds: “Now, the track gets to have another fabulous moment in the sun – this time as ‘Party Girl (Gonna Do)’ with KIMMIC and on Armada Music! I really do get to “do it all again” as the song says... Here’s to all the party girls out there!”

[item value="10"]Armin van Buuren - Lose This Feeling (Dimension Remix)  [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Armin van Buuren with Lose This Feeling delivered a very happy and optimistic record that is nostalgic but very futuristic too. Dimension Remix is truly unique as it tries to combine successfully drum n bass influences with hard & rave style elements so while it starts in modern drum n bass territory after the breakdown goes into an insane fast and furius drop that ignite dancefloors instantly and can be the excellent closing track in your set to drive your crowd nuts. When artists come out of their safe and comfortable place to deliver unique music like this remix, it makes you feel hopeful for better days ahead. #PureGold Love IT[/content]
