[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Smith & Brown, the dynamic trance duo from Scotland deliver their outstanding tech trance smasher Shard on the prestigious Outburst Records. This 140 BPM thunderous track encapsulates the essence of Smith & Brown’s signature rough and raw sound: an enthralling mix of heavy hard hitting basslines, pounding metallic techno kicks, rough percussion and dark dystopian synthy hooks at the background. Their breakdown is very well sound designed with cinematic orchestral themes merged with euphoric synthy plucks that elevate the listener to the highest floor of the skyscraper instantly. Uplifting harmonies and pulsating rhythms that transport listeners to a realm of pure trance bliss. The climax is dark, moody, demanding and absolutely dominating with dystopian percussive synths and acid riffs. "Shard" showcases the duo's ability to push the boundaries of the genre, delivering a track that is both timeless and cutting-edge. With "Shard," Smith & Brown continue to solidify their position as leading figures in the trance movement, promising more groundbreaking music and unforgettable live experiences for fans around the world. #PureGold Love iT

Renowned Scottish DJ and producer Mark Sherry, celebrated for his exceptional original and remix compositions, his esteemed labels Outburst and Techburst, and his frequent appearances at prominent trance festivals worldwide, has announced through his social media platforms that his latest album, TH3RTY, has been completed and will be released on February 21st via Black Hole Recordings. This monumental project comprises 30 tracks, the culmination of over two years of dedicated work and more than 2000 studio hours. The album has undergone an extensive process of meticulous mixdowns, edits, tweaks, and mastering.

The initial tracks released from TH3RTY have garnered an overwhelming response from the global trance community, intensifying the anticipation for the final tracklist to be unveiled. In anticipation of the release, we present a curated selection of the tracks released thus far from Mark Sherry’s highly anticipated album.

Mark Sherry & Kate Louise Smith - Fractured [Take Me There]

One of Mark’s earliest solo releases was “Fractured,” initially released in 2005 as an instrumental on Ed Real’s London-based Riot Recordings. The label was also home to notable artists such as BK and Nick Sentience at the time. Mark later reworked the track and incorporated vocals by the talented Kate Louise Smith in 2010, subsequently signing it to Reset (Spinnin’ Records).

Mark is set to commemorate the 20th anniversary of “Fractured” next year and has decided to celebrate this milestone by creating a technologically advanced version for his forthcoming album. The track has undergone a comprehensive overhaul and received a significant boost of energy.

Mark unveiled this version at Luminosity Events during the summer, and fans eagerly anticipated its release.

WestBam - Wizards Of The Sonic (Mark Sherry Remix)

Mark’s most cherished trance track is the Matt Darey remix of Westbam’s “Wizards of the Sonic.” As a special exclusive for his forthcoming album, Mark has crafted a highly energetic and pristine-sounding rework of this globally acclaimed trance classic. The quintessential elements of the original have been meticulously recreated and seamlessly blended with contemporary enhancements, infusing this timeless anthem with a novel and exhilarating energy.

This endeavor is a testament to Mark’s artistic prowess and is not to be missed.

Mark Sherry - In Spirit

Mark Sherry’s single “Neon City” is an electrifying fusion of techno-trance, hard-trance, and peak-time techno. With razor-sharp synthesizers, pounding basslines, and hypnotic energy, this track is designed for the grand stage. Sherry skillfully combines high-octane techno rhythms with a futuristic soundscape, creating an immersive experience through a pulsating neon-lit metropolis. This track is a must-hear future anthem for enthusiasts of trance and techno genres.

Mark Sherry, Peetu S & Emma Gillespie - Open Ocean

For his powerful vocal trance track “Open Ocean,” Mark Sherry collaborates with Peetu S and Emma Gillespie, whose exceptional vocal performances provide a captivating showcase. The anticipation surrounding the album continues to escalate.

Mark Sherry & The Space Brothers featuring Talya - Angel

After a nearly decade-long hiatus, Space & Sherry have returned with a highly anticipated follow-up to their 2013 release, “Let It Come.” This time, the trio consists of Mark, Ricky, and Steve, who have crafted a euphoric and emotionally resonant track titled “Angel.”

Mark’s distinctive vocals and the seamless integration of Sherry’s signature drumming, bass, and rhythmic patterns create the foundation of “Angel.” The track builds to a climax with intense trance effects, cavernous reverb, and a powerful 303 amplifier, propelling the listener to a state of heightened excitement.

As the breakdown approaches, Team Space takes over the lead, featuring vocalist Talya, who previously collaborated with the group on their 2001 hit “Everywhere I Go.” Talya’s distinctive vocals infuse “Angel” with a distinctly Brotherly atmosphere, complemented by Steve and Ricky’s ethereal melodies and harmonies. The trio skillfully manipulates the synths, applying compression and gate effects to enhance the track’s intensity. As Talya transitions between verses and choruses, “Angel” reaches its crescendo, culminating in a euphoric and uplifting climax.

Soon to be released Mark Sherry & Adara - Flammable via Black Hole

Mark Sherry has announced that his forthcoming single will feature renowned vocalist Adara, titled “Flammable.” The composition boasts an uplifting melody, accompanied by lush piano arrangements, soaring lead vocals, and a driving rhythm section.

To date, these are the exceptional tracks released, and the trance community eagerly anticipates the release of the final album, which promises to be an amalgamation of harder, edgier beats, uplifting melodies, and luscious vocals. We predict that it will be a resounding success, aptly titled “PureGold.” Until then, try to catch Mark Sherry in his forthcoming shows to listen to the album tracks first and exclusively. Be there!

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]From 2022 onwards techno music manage to move away from the dark corridors of the underground and become mainstage festivals material thanks though to well known trance melodies. In 2023 the trend continues big time and Mark Sherry who knows the best way to merge techno and trance delivers successful singles that crawl at the top of the beatport trance chart. For instance his forthcoming banger Space People is hyped to be one of the biggest techno trance hybrids of the year. With his pounding dark moody basslines, thumping rough and raw kicks and of course the metallic percussion creates that perfect industrial beat that drives the track towards its long cinematic breakdown full of sonic effects that easily create mysterious images in your mind like watching a jawdropping sci-fi movie. The climax combines the techno beat with the ravey synthy so perfectly that you wish this journey to space to continue for ever. It's vibrant and unique from Mark who we all know how perfectionist he is of course.  #PureGold Love IT [/content]

Dimitri Kechagias review: Techburst is the underground techno label headed by Mark Sherry and until now the label has manage to showcase some amazing talents that will please your ears and move your body without second thoughts. The release that closed 2015 for Techburst was from the  hands of the label honcho Mark Sherry and Gene Karz. The track Spacewarp is an excellent dark, haunting and raunchy techo smasher with trance influences. Fat banging drums, sharp moody basslines, wild synthy chords, chopped vocal samples and intense development that builds tension and excites the big crowds. Expect industrial themes, uncompromising old school flavours and music that will rock your body. Global Eclipse is moving on a darker level that targets the big room techno sound that is heavily influenced from German teutonic techno drums, pulsating wobbly basslines, dark industrial synthy hooks excellent build up towards an uncompromising climax that avoids to repeat what has done before and manage to build its techno linguistic codes. Alex Di Stefano has become a real firm favourite with us, as you may have guessed! His ground-breaking techno & tech-trance productions have been a real breath-of-fresh-air to the scene over these last few months, which in turn has put him right in the spotlight with all of the key players and is gaining him support on a global scale. His next single 'No Pain, No Gain' is yet another ridiculously fierce techo bomb that is ready to explode on the cooler, more underground dancefloors! The Greek god of techno himself Axel Karakasis delivers one of his finest ever remixes to complete this monster package, totally unmissable!

Release date: 25/05/15

Dimitri Kechagias review: Techburst records is on the rise with techno releases that easily can crossover to trance sets as well. The brand new release comes from the current favourite in the scene that everybody talks about and that is the one and only Alex Di Stefano. His track No Pain, No Gain is a powerful hard hitting uncompromising slice of dynamic techno with punchy grooves, fat sharp like knives basslines, dark synthy themes and great atmosphere. If you like it rough and underground this track does exactly that without leaving any space for negotiations.  Cracking sound that moves and shakes nicely so better press play! Axel Karakasis is well respected for his brand of techno and his remix on this tune is as good as you expected to be. Axel delivers darker moodier dirtier slower techno version with punchy drum programming, bouncy basslines and superb atmosphere that transfer your mind to many places and spaces. If you like hypnotic industrial techno this track will bring pleasure to you and your followers. Love it

Chicago Loop is the new alias from DJ Ant, an established and long-serving UK techno DJ and producer who has been involved in the scene for over 2 decades now, playing worldwide and releasing hundreds of tracks! It was this new alias that really grabbed our attention at the label because of it's dark, underground and extremely powerful sound. Here we bring you your brain with it's crazy analogue bass-synth patterns, intelligent FX and old school percussion. We combine this with the very edgy Shelley Mix (after the success of her previous 'Talk About Drums' EP release on Techburst) where she really smashes it out the park with alternative 'granular-FX-gone-mad' remix! Another solid from TBR..don't miss out!

Release date: 27/04/15

Massive support from Mario Più, Alex Di Stefano, Jordan Suckley, Pedro Delgardo, Paco Osuna, David Forbes, Solarstone, Indecent Noise, Dualitik, Paul Thomas, Richard Santana, Chicago Loop, Shelly & Mark Sherry!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Techburst records is doing really well to translate techno into music that trance djs can play as well. Techburst presents the fantastic Chicago Loop with Stereo Vice. Both original and Shelley remix are old dark hypnotic thunderous techno tracks that love to bang hard and keep the crowds jumping and bumping around. The dark and sinister melodies in the breakdown will have an effect on trance crowds as well so you can expect both versions appearing in tech trance sets. Energy, dynamism, atmosphere and loud basslines that pound hard is what you need. #TrueTechno Love It

Release date: 23/02/15

Dimitri Kechagias review: Techburst is the techno sister label of Outburst records the label that manage to become synonymous of high quality tech trance releases. On Techburst we are glad to receive the outstanding beats of Mark Sherry & Dr Willis for the techno remixes of the classic 'Here Come The Drums.' The Dualitik and Pedro Delgardo remix is a fantastic pounding energetic techno anthem that can crossover between techno and trance sets easily. The dominating fat drums, the heavy pounding basslines and the euphoric breakdown work perfectly well to raise some eyebrows and drive the trancers insane. The climax is hard hitting but with rays of melodic sunlight to keep the trance fanatics addicted. Gene Katz on the other side goes out of order in his magnificent rough Derick May Detroit pounding techno that smashes the floors and crashes the loudspeakers. The tribal drum, the dark basslines, the industrial melodies and the cold atmosphere is right and exact for tough techno work out that booms and bangs hard for sure. #PureBassPower Love  It
