anamē & Lydmor return to highlight ‘Astronauts’, featured originally on the recent anamē album, ‘Hopes & Fears’.

Debuted live on stage at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City, ‘Astronauts’ showcased Lydmor’s stage prowess and presence, placing her captivating performance of the track as the highlight of the set.

An emotive, highly-charged record, statement driven, album that ultimately leans to the lighter side of life, ‘Hopes & Fears’ was released towards the end of February, 2025. The album takes its inspiration from an honest reflection of how Marcus and Thomas feel about the world around them and the connections they’ve made worldwide.

Long-standing collaborator with anamē, Jenny Rossander, better known as Lydmor, is a well renowned Danish pop artist, whose cultural heritage spans five albums, sold-out headline shows across Scandinavia, co-producing albums with Who Made Who’s Thomas Holding and being author of a best-selling book, charting her journey through the electric arts world over the last 10 years.

‘A live wire - show stealer - natural performer, Jenny’s at the heart of our writing process. The ambiguity and poetry of everything she does ultimately leads to songs people want to scream at the top of their lungs. She’s also always at the end of the phone - the songs on this album are born out of being together, investing in each other's emotional state, and letting it play out in the music we’re writing’ Thomas says.

[item value="10"]anamē & Lydmor - Astronauts [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]anamē & Lydmor’s edit of "Astronauts" from their latest album is a masterclass in contemporary electronic music production. The track opens with warm, pulsating basslines that create an immersive, atmospheric foundation. These basslines are meticulously layered with chunky, organic percussion, crafted using a blend of live-recorded elements and intricate sample manipulation, adding a tactile, earthy feel to the groove. The energetic kicks are precisely side-chained to the bass, ensuring a tight, punchy low end that drives the track forward with rhythmic precision. The production shines through its exceptional use of anthemic synths, characterized by expansive, evolving pads and arpeggiated sequences that cascade like cosmic waves. These synths are expertly modulated with automation techniques, giving them dynamic movement and emotional depth. Complementing the synths are cinematic string arrangements, subtly layered to enhance the track's soaring quality. The strings are processed with lush reverb and delay effects, creating a vast, ethereal soundscape that evokes the sensation of floating through the stratosphere. At the heart of "Astronauts" is Lydmor’s captivating vocal performance. Her voice effortlessly glides over the 115 BPM downtempo rhythm, with its smooth and beautiful foundation providing the perfect canvas. The vocals are treated with a combination of reverb, delay, and slight pitch modulation, adding a dreamlike quality that aligns with the track's space-travel theme. Lydmor’s stunning lyrics are poetic and evocative, inviting listeners on an introspective journey through space and time. Great lyrics that showcase her lyrical prowess, painting vivid images that resonate deeply. Overall, "Astronauts" is not just a song; it’s an auditory expedition. The meticulous attention to technical details in production, combined with Lydmor’s mesmerizing vocals and thought-provoking lyrics, make this track a standout piece. It’s trippy, emotionally engaging, and simply outstanding. #PureGold, Love IT[/content]

Injecting a surge of energy into the already electrifying collaboration

The pulsating beats of 'One By One' take on a thrilling new form with the latest remix by Andromedik, injecting a surge of energy into the already electrifying collaboration between Robin Schulz, Topic, and Oaks. Renowned for his dynamic drum & bass sounds that have landed him on the main stages of festivals like Tomorrowland, Andromedik's remix takes listeners into a realm of sonic euphoria and proves why he's a force to be reckoned with.

From the onset, it's clear that Andromedik's rendition isn't for the faint-hearted. With a tempo that refuses to relent, the remix transforms Winona Oak's vocals, infusing them with an even more captivating allure. Building up with technoid precision, the production crescendos to an exhilarating drop, unleashing a drum & bass frenzy that's bound to ignite dancefloors worldwide.

In 'One By One', Schulz, Topic and Oaks paint a vivid picture of young love against the neon backdrop of a bustling city night. As the lyrics evoke images of carefree moments and heart-pounding excitement, Andromedik's remix adds a fresh layer of intensity to the narrative. With each beat, memories are forged, creating a soundtrack for the ages.

About Andromedik

At the age of 25, rising drum 'n' bass artist Andromedik has already made quite an imprint on the scene. The Belgian artist distinguished himself from many of his peers with an almost festival-like sound design, taking 2023 by storm with two spectacular debut performances on Tomorrowland’s iconic Mainstage as the first drum 'n' bass artist in five years.

With a string of dancefloor hits like 'Forever’, 'First to Go’, and 'Take Me’, and collabs with several talented musicians such as globally chart-topping artist Lost Frequencies on the Deluxe Mix of his recent hit single 'The Feeling’, Andromedik has achieved over 75 million streams and counting on Spotify alone.

With his rising popularity, it is no surprise you will hear Andromedik’s songs playing on international radios such as BBC Radio 1, Studio Brussel, and George FM. All this talent has led to a Drum & Bass Arena Awards nomination for ‘World’s Best Newcomer’ in 2019. Andromedik is a versatile DJ and producer who is not afraid to shake up crowds with wild edits, remixes, and an overall wide musical take on his genre. With all the energy he puts in his music, as well as in his performance on stage, we can easily say Andromedik is destined to be a future headliner.

Marking another milestone, Andromedik recently celebrated a remarkable achievement when his first-ever Andromedik Invites show at Trix Antwerp sold out in less than 15 hours. Due to overwhelming demand, an extra date was added. Both highly anticipated hard ticket shows are scheduled for April 2024. Expect a pulsating atmosphere with front-left energy all the way to the back. Andromedik continues his meteoric rise, ensuring an exhilarating journey for fans and enthusiasts alike.

Darren Tate, Solarstone and Julie Scott collaborate on ‘A Long Way From Home’, out now on Anjunabeats.

Trance titans Darren Tate and Solarstone have been pivotal artists in dance music for over twenty years. Darren is a UK Top 10 charting producer who, in 2022, joined forces with Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant to form JODA. Released on Anjunabeats, JODA’s self-titled debut album shot to #1 on the iTunes US Dance chart and has since seen over 10 million combined streams.

Irish producer Solarstone is set for an international tour this year with stops in Poland, the Netherlands, Ibiza and Malta. His balearic trance anthem ‘Seven Cities’ has been re-released 3 times and sold in excess of 500,000 copies, earning support from Armin van Buuren, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk and more.

Scottish-born musician and vocalist Julie Scott is a former member of the accomplished Dutch band Mizpaha and renowned jazz ensemble Dash!. She’s also worked with members of the Residentie Orchestra and, in 2008, co-wrote and recorded several tracks on Solarstone’s album ‘Rain Stars Eternal’.

‘A Long Way From Home’ has been doing the rounds as a secret ID since being shared with DJs and tastemakers last October, with support from Nicole Moudaber, ANNA, Joris Voorn, Hernán Cattáneo, Maceo Plex, Joseph Capriati, Carl Craig, Nora En Pure and more. The record is a distant reach from the artists’ usual styles, but is executed with the skill and finesse of producers at the top of their game.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Darren Tate is well known for making incredible collaborations and he works beautifully with Solarstone and  Julie Scott for the fantastic A Long Way From Home. The Timeless remix is pure trance bliss with 130 BPM pulsating basslines, pumping drums, punchy kicks and superb guitar riffs, cinematic strings, warm atmosphere and excellent vocal that simply resonates with you and crawl under your skin to touch your heart and soul. Sounds and melodies recalling Seven Cities style and superb breakbeat section to calm the senses down and then the beat comes along to carry the track to its magnificent timeless climax full of magical sounds and electrifying little details. The title Timeless says it all for me and will remain Timeless. For those afterhour parties and Ibiza early mornings the Straight From Dat mix is the perfect breaks/breakbeat chilling moment with Orbital/Way Out West kind of influences. British/Dutch trio Cubicolor share their highly-anticipated album ‘Sometime Not Now’, alongside latest single ‘The Outsider’. The record is available on all digital platforms via Anjunadeep on 28 October.

The three-piece electronic band - AKA Tim Digby-Bell, Peter Kriek and Ariaan Olieroock - are armed with their most accomplished record to date, ‘Sometime Not Now’. Created during the pandemic as a response to a body of work that was previously scrapped, the band rediscovered their desire to bring those tracks back to life. The band add: “It wasn't the right time in 2019 for these songs, but we really feel it is now.” With enough time and reflection, they were able to come back to the tracks with fresh minds envisioning new opportunities in technological advancements taking place in the world. “When we decided to drop a whole album, it felt like a relief on the one hand but also like admitting defeat on the other hand. We just couldn't push that train up that hill at that point in time, and that was very frustrating. A lot of doubt and confusion crept in as well because of this. But sometimes you just need to give something time. When we picked the tracks up again in 2020, the doubt and confusion had evaporated. Instead of road blocks we saw opportunities.”

The 12-track record is filled with introspection, self-reflection and critical thinking, whilst being bold and expansive on a musical level. They create warm dreamy soundscapes that take the listener on a beguiling odyssey through the spectrum of the electronic sphere, at once emotive and downbeat, the next uplifting and euphoric. An album containing gems that the band have sat on for a long time, they have also unveiled their focus track for the record in ‘The Outsider’, a song that perfectly encompasses the entire energy that Cubicolor generate throughout the album. Talking about the single, the band explained: “We wanted to write a bigger tune that encompassed the energy of change, of seeking more and running with it.”

Throughout the record, the band explore their sound, style and pace in a poignant manner, whilst creating a unique and unconventional sonic space. Previously known as 16BL, a hugely accomplished act in the house and techno world throughout the 2000s, Ariaan and Peter had been performing and writing together since their early 20s. Meanwhile, Tim comes from an equally intriguing background as a poet and a playwright. Taking inspiration from philosophy, astronomy, history, the arts and culture, the artists continue to develop their sound, as Peter comments: “As an artist you have to try to create a really big swimming pool of inspiration to swim around in.”

Boasting over 70m streams across their first two albums ‘Brainsugar’ and ‘Hardly A Day, Hardly A Night’, the band have received praise from a multitude of music outlets - including The Independent, Clash Magazine and Line of Best Fit - as well as support from fellow music makers RÜFÜS DU SOL, Tale Of Us, Dixon and Diplo to name a few. With collaborations from artists such as Diplo and Keinemusik, and subtle references from the likes of Debussy, Aphex Twin and Philip Larkin, Cubicolor have created an album that breaks the mould and sets the tone for the future of electronic music. Having produced countless tracks over the years with no sign of slowing down, the trio’s brand new album ‘Sometime Not Now’ is a real landmark moment in the group’s career.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Cubicolor with Sometime Not Now deliver an excellent album that while it has its roots within the club realm it manages to acquire its own very unique sonic language with electronic floating grooves, 80's electro pop atmosphere and of course the moody melancholic indie dance flavoured vocals. Excellent cinematic breaks tracks with electro touches, experimentation with even Western filmic sounds and magnificent classical music outro piece to let those end credits slowly run. It's the type of album that you should enjoy from start to finish to let the talented group to explore and experience the whole palette of emotions, grooves, melodies and definitely it is a great journey worth taking for sure. #PureGold Love It  [/content]

Sensational British/Dutch trio Cubicolor announce their forthcoming album ‘Sometime Not Now’.

Cubicolor are a British/Dutch three piece that lie somewhere in between the electronic and indie genre, consisting of Ariaan, Peter and Tim hailing from notably different backgrounds, all with very successful previous musical experiences behind them. A powerful sense of cohesion is at the very core of Cubicolor, with each member of the group bringing equal measures of musical knowledge. Together, their collective expertise provides an extra sense of perspective, talent and inspiration to Cubicolor’s unique, electronic fusion, with a real intuitive flair.

The latest release from the trio titled ‘Summer & Smoke’ was co-produced by &ME, part of the acclaimed Keinemusik collective who produced a number of tracks on Drake’s #1 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’, and has proved to be a vibrant electronic taste of what’s to come. ‘Summer & Smoke’ has an evocative underground feel to it, reflecting the groups’ musical abilities and knack for creating dancefloor moments. Alongside ‘Summer & Smoke’, Cubicolor have also shared the title of their upcoming album ‘Sometime Not Now’ that was inspired by the concept of taking your chances when life presents them to you, along with the thoughts of hope and regret, and the constant battles of risk and reward.

Cubicolor member, Peter [Kriek] explained: “To get the right answers, you first need to ask the right questions.”

In a statement that summarises the album. ‘Sometime Not Now’ as a construct is an album filled with introspection, self-reflection and critical thinking, whilst on a musical level is bold, expansive and a big statement from the British/Dutch trio in claiming their place among the musical elite. Cubicolor boast over 70m streams across their first two albums ‘Brainsugar’ and ‘Hardly A Day, Hardly A Night’, receiving huge praise from The Independent, Clash Magazine and Line of Best Fit, and major support from fellow artists in RÜFÜS DU SOL, Tale Of Us, Dixon, Diplo, Jordan Rakei and Keinemusik, with a guarantee that the upcoming album will follow suit.

Anjunabeats is pleased to release the self-titled debut album from JODA, aka Jono Grant and Darren Tate.

JODA are a fresh musical pairing with shared DNA. Both together and apart, Jono Grant and Darren Tate have been there, done that, and bought the vintage synth gear to celebrate.

Grant is one-third of Above & Beyond who, over the course of a two-decade career, have established themselves as one of the biggest electronic groups in the world. Eight studio albums (including one as vocal trance group OceanLab and two acoustic reworks), 17 compilation albums, a film score, and nearing 100 singles speak to output as varied as it is prodigious. Their label Anjunabeats is home to a bustling community of artists with over twenty years of catalog.

As a classically trained musician, songwriter, producer, and hitmaker, Tate is an OG Top of the Pops-botherer. In the early noughties, at the outset of his career, he appeared on the show three times, once with Angelic, his collaboration with Judge Jules and the latter’s wife, performing classic trance banger It’s My Turn, then twice under the name Jurgen Vries. The following years saw more musical adventures, more Top 40 UK hits (12 in total), and more pseudonyms, including the trance-facing DT8 Project.

In 2003, the pair managed to sync their schedules to work on a couple of tracks, 'Let The Light Shine In' and 'Nocturnal Creatures'. Clearly, there was chemistry here. But as the pair’s respective careers subsequently took them off around the world in opposite directions, reconnecting other than fleetingly was never easy. Then in 2019 Tate returned to his trance roots and signed to Anjunabeats for his DT8 Project releases. Around the same time, Above & Beyond received an offer to score an environmental documentary, 'The Last Glaciers'.
“I'm musical, but I've never done a score before, which would be quite an undertaking. And I knew Darren was massively experienced at doing that, and I've always admired what he does in his film work. So my first thought was: why don't we do it with Darren?”
Jono and Darren got stuck into composing together, and it became a dream project all around – not least because it sparked further ideas. So, JODA was born. Working in Tate’s studio in suburban north London, and A&B’s south London HQ, the pair were in a creative bubble during the early days of the pandemic. And the partnership proved fruitful.

For now, Jono Grant and Darren Tate are simply happy that a project that began almost when neither of them was looking, in the midst of lockdowns, has turned out exactly and as fully as they imagined. Unforced, unhurried, and only done for love: this is a passion project of the best kind.
“It's one of the great things about doing this job: that we get to do this job!” concludes Darren Tate, beaming. “Jono and I love making music, we get on really well together, so we have fun doing it. We naturally have perfectionist instincts, but the vibe is the most important thing. So this is also rough around the edges in all the right ways."
“It absolutely is a passion project,” affirms Jono Grant. “The other thing was, of course, we've done this over the pandemic. So it was cathartic. We were lucky enough to be able to work. And this was therapy of the best kind.”
JODA’s self-titled debut album is out now on Anjunabeats. Vinyl copies of ‘JODA’, plus logo tee bundles are available to pre-order via the Anjuna Music Store.

Great electro pop style melodies and warm welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel at home surrounded by cinematic strings, organic melodies and indie rock style vocals with lyrics that they have something nice to communicate and definitely go under the surface. Optimistic and colorful sounds demand for attention and endorsement away from  music genre categories. French-Canadian producer and live act Christophe Dubé, aka CRi, is a dance music star in the making. Following in the footsteps of fellow Montréalers Jacques Greene and Kaytranada, CRi has risen through the city’s bubbling scene in recent years and now reveals his debut album ‘Juvenile’. In tandem with the news, he has shared a brand new single and album taster track ‘Runaway’, which is available across all streaming platforms now.

A self-taught college dropout, CRi caught the attention of tastemaker press with early singles ‘Rush’ and ‘Don’t’, which were accompanied by award-winning music videos, and picked up a nomination for Electronic Release of The Year at the 2018 Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to The Grammy’s).

“I’m just a pizza delivery guy that said fuck it…”

CRi’s sound blurs light, dream-like melodies with textured production - capturing the energy of the dancefloor, and the nostalgia of the morning after. Christophe draws inspiration from his musical heroes Moby, St Germain and Daniel Bélanger (who appears on the album), along with more contemporary influences ranging from Caribou and Dark Sky to Jacques Greene and Actress.

Having debuted on Anjunadeep in 2019 he quickly caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Annie Mac with his ‘Initial EP’, which was also championed on KCRW by Jason Bentley.

The 11-track debut LP ‘Juvenile’ now marks a coming of age for the young artist…
“Juvenile is an ode to youth, innocence and dreams. The melancholy of the past and the hope of the future shape the mood of this album. The project revisits what resonated with me when I was young, and blends it with what drives me today. It’s a way for me to take stock of an era, and turn the page on something new.”
Throughout the album CRi collaborates with a number of his French-Canadian contemporaries, including Sophia Bel and Bernache (one third of indie pop band Men I Trust), and Québécois legend Daniel Bélanger. A star of the French-Canadian music scene and three-time Juno award winner, Daniel Bélanger lends his distinctive Francophone vocals to ‘Signal’, the album’s third single.
“All the collaborators come from Montréal (or at least from Québéc); it was very important that my first album was a product of my environment.”
A talented live performer, CRi plays solo and as a three-piece band with collaborators Jesse Mac Cormack and Sophia Bel. A hot ticket in his hometown, he has already headlined Piknic Electronik and played to thousands at Osheaga. With touring plans on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic, CRi will present a series of livestreams throughout the summer.

The album marks another milestone for UK label Anjunadeep. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the label is now approaching 500 releases, and is known for unearthing the likes of Dusky, Lane 8, Yotto and Cubicolor. With hundreds of millions of streams in recent years, and sold-out label festivals around the world, Anjunadeep continues to cement its place as one of electronic music’s leading labels, with CRi at the forefront.

‘Juvenile’ is set for release on October 16 via Anjunadeep.

Indulging in modern rhythms and fluted vocals, Thomas Gold shows a different side of himself. By blending both pop and electronic music in a tandem of flavor, the German hotshot forged something so ridiculously infectious it's bound to soar in all parts of the world. The trap chilling out style track is focusing on the cool female soulful vocal that is slightly stretched and is applied quite playfully like another instrument upon the broken beats, spanking grooves and witty basslines along with guitar riffs, piano chords and orchestral strings. Overall the vintage style sound manage to be old fashion but very futuristic as well. Super strong pop friendly production that will be played on repeat mode on spotify or radio playlists. Legendary composer Vangelis blasts back into view on 23 September with his new album, Rosetta. One of a number of works in which Vangelis has looked to the stars for inspiration, Rosetta is a 13-track album inspired by the Rosetta Mission – a pioneering space project in which the European Space Agency sought to orbit a comet before landing a probe on its surface – a first in the history of mankind.

Launched in 2004, it took 10 years for the Rosetta to reach Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. In the two years that followed, the spacecraft flew in tandem with the comet, tracing its orbit toward the inner solar system and back out again. Such an ambitious undertaking seemed tailor-made for a suitably epic musical accompaniment – which is where Vangelis came in.

“Mythology, science and space exploration are subjects that have fascinated me since my early childhood,” the composer says today, adding, “and they were always connected somehow with the music I write.”

That’s a vast body of work that not only includes the iconic soundtracks to Blade Runner and Chariots Of Fire, but also studio albums such as Albedo 0.39 and Mythodea: Music For NASA Mission: 2001 Mars Odyssey – both inspired by space travel. So when ESA astronaut André Kuipers, a life-long Vangelis fan, contacted his hero – from aboard the International Space Station, no less – Vangelis was suitably inspired to begin work on a collection of music dedicated to the ESA team behind the Rosetta Mission. When ESA received the music, they combined it with images they’d captured during the Rosetta’s flight.
As ESA representative Carl Walker notes, the results encapsulated “how people would feel if they were to see the comet for real in close-up”. “With music, you can enhance emotions and create memories,” he continues. “I believe that what Vangelis wanted was to share a lasting memory of our Rosetta mission through his music.”
It’s fair to say: mission accomplished.

Rosetta is out on 23 September. The full tracklisting is:
‘Origins (Arrival)’

About Vangelis
Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou is a Greek composer of electronic, progressive, ambient, jazz, pop rock and orchestral music, under the artist name Vangelis. He is best known for his Academy Award-winning score for the film Chariots of Fire, composing scores for the films Blade Runner, 1492: Conquest of Paradise and Alexander, and the use of his music in the PBS documentary Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by Carl Sagan.

The Legend is back: Vangelis
Vangelis began his professional musical career working with several popular bands of the 1960s such as The Forminx and Aphrodite's Child, with the latter's album 666 going on to be recognized as a psychedelic "classic". Throughout the 1970s, Vangelis composed music scores for several animal documentaries, including L'Apocalypse Des Animaux, La Fête sauvage and Opéra sauvage; the success of these scores brought him into the film scoring mainstream. In the early 1980s, Vangelis formed a musical partnership with Jon Anderson, the lead singer of progressive rock band Yes, and the duo went on to release several albums together as Jon & Vangelis. In 1981, he composed the score for the Oscar-winning film Chariots of Fire. The soundtrack's single, "Titles", won Vangelis the Academy Award for Best Original Music Score and also reached the top of the American Billboard.

In a career spanning over 50 years, writing and composing more than 52 albums, Vangelis is regarded as one of the greatest composers of electronic music of all time.

A true dance music pioneer, Tom Middleton has built up an impressive back catalogue over the past two decades including collaborations with the likes of Aphex Twin, Josh Wink, Adam Freehand, and notably with Mark Pritchard as Global Communication. That along with his solo prowess and memorable remixes for Kerri Chandler, Orbital, Ennio Morricone, Jon Hopkins and more have marked him out as one of the scene’s most respected artists.

2016 sees the return of Tom Middleton to Anjunadeep with a 4 track re-imagining of his 2015 club hit “HEVA”. The package features reworks from two diverse talents, Vincenzo and Geode, plus additional mixes from Tom himself including a stunning ambient production and 2-Step remix.

Both of Tom’s own EP contributions are trademark examples of his deft skill and ingenuity when reworking his own productions. Two diverse takes on an Anjuna anthem.

Next up, we welcome upcoming UK producer and Middleton’s own tipped talent, Geode, with his garage infused club roller, awash with wavering synths and quirky percussive licks.

Anjunadeep legend Vincenzo returns the favour following Tom’s much-loved 2012 remix of ’Sometimes Saturday', offering up a signature melodic rework, complimenting the spacey atmospherics of the original with a hallmark deep rolling bassline. Debuted by James Grant during his live set at Anjunadeep Miami, Vincenzo's deep house cut has already begun the rounds, a peak summer gem.

Enjoy the original version of Heva

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The beloved Tom Middleton has brought the stunning track HEVA last years and now it's time this exceptional beauty to get some appropriate remix  treatments.  Vincenzo provides an excellent melodic deep balearic  house version with chunky grooves, fantastic drums and percussion, xylophone melodies, cinematic strings, heavenly voices and superb tripping out atmosphere that you feel that carry you away to far away planets and galaxies but you don't say no to it. You rather get immersed even more into the sound. Vincenzo sonic soundscapes are mouthwatering so let this happen to you and don't search for consequences. Geode Remix is definitely a pleasant surprise. Classic speed garage sounds soaked and sprinkled with old school elements and superb melodies and heavenly voices for a truly relaxing and very subliminal sonic experience. The Ambient remix is the perfect after clubbing sounds that you will press play in your car and let the worries disappear into the past as you look for a better future. 2-Step remix is equally Ibiza infused with classic house organ riffs and playful smooth arrangement perfect to start tapping your feet and make your way into the heart of the dancefloor!  Anjunadeep at its very best! #PureGold Love it [/content]

Paul McCartney is one of the most important personalities of the rock. With a string of hits he showed the way in the 70s, as the front man of the legendary The Beatles and to his own project Paul McCartney and Wings.

Originally a B-side, the brilliant'Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five 'was published for the first time 1973. However, it took until 2009 when Timo Maas discovered this track again. Amazed how recent the song still sounded to Maas teamed up with James Teej to visualize this classic sound and give it a more modern character.

The official release date is May 13 via Virgin Records Germany.

The original of' Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five 'was the last song of the album "Band On The Run" and includes both references to George Orwell's "1984" as well as an unusual love story.

The heavyweights of the music industry Timo Maas & James Teej build the track on to say provide it with electronic energy and thus create a perfect synergy of past and present.

Timo Maas' career had a major impact on the electronic music scene for 30 years, he travels the world and put it toward a presentable career. He worked for Madonna, Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim, Placebo and received a Grammy nomination for his remix  on Tori Amos. He is also well known for his label / band My Favourite Robot.

The Canadian James Teej can also look back on 20 years of DJ and producer existence. In Timo's Landhaus in Germany the two tinkered on a vision and created together this special remix of the classic Paul McCartney and set new standards for contemporary electronic music.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]I must confess that I was not aware of the original track so the first thing that I did was to search on YouTube and find the original in order to understand what is really going on. From the fans of the original who have left comments on YouTube I understood that the track even back then sounded futuristic and weird enough to get the fans addicted without understanding the reason. The truth is that the original Paul track is absolutely stunning and the track radiates so much energy plus I found that the track is very optimistic and ready for party. Timo Maas is well known for his darker underground tones so his original remix  is darker moody dystopian and futuristic with electronic pulsating basslines, dark strings, guitar riffs and original piano chords.  The vocal shines on the top of course. The Club version applies a tougher more tribal tech beat with dark drums, punchy basslines and that rolling rhythm that is addictive and hypnotic to the maximum. It is destined to be all over the summer holidays destinations this summer without doubts and deserves it. What is most important is that these two remixes are not mainstream watered down pop minded versions. The remixers attempted successfully to bring to the track the futuristic appeal at the forefront in order to pay a tribute on the track's longevity and eternal appeal of a creation of a true music genius. #PureGold Love It[/content]

The Bearded Man has the unique ability to travel through time, more or less at will, or at the very least, when it's convenient for him to escape a boring dinner party. In 1851, he broke bread with Captain Ahab, calling himself Ishmael for some unknown reason. He went on that fateful quest to find Moby Dick, which coincidentally made for a *hilarious* story decades later when The Bearded Man and Richard Melville Hall (better known by his stage name "Moby") had drinks on the rooftop of his NYC apartment. The artist Moby asked a lot of questions about Moby Dick, and in turn, The Bearded Man asked a lot of questions about Vera Hall. Both were fascinated by these legendary figures from the past. Moby had never met Vera Hall, but he felt they shared an unspoken bond. For his part, The Bearded Man recalled Alabama in the early 1900s. He had heard of Ms. Hall, but had never met her. Androma was actually alive at the time, so the pair telephoned him to find out more about the famous songwriter. Androma knew some things about her, but not as much as Boy Kiss Girl. So they all had a massive tele-conference to get to the bottom of "the real story". In the end, they troubled hard indeed to come up with this song. The Bearded Man frequently travels to 2016 just to hear it whenever he needs a reminder of what soulful music is supposed to sound like!
