11 years after the release of the eponymous debut album Gabriel & Dresden, Josh & Dave have returned with their much anticipated follow up full length record, The Only Road. "Much anticipated" is a phrase that's thrown around quite a lot in the music industry, but in the case of The Only Road we happen to know this as fact...it truly is a record the fans have been clamoring for. How do we know? At a crossroads in their career, Gabriel & Dresden decided to set up a Kickstarter Campaign for their fans to help them greenlight a new album. Originally asking for $30,000 dollars to meet their goal, Gabriel & Dresden ended up with nearly three times the pledge amount (over $73,000 dollars) from 700 backers. A much anticipated album indeed and Gabriel & Dresden have not missed a beat, delivering on their classic recipe of emotive dance music through an 12-track journey.

"What makes The Only Road special is that it was fan-supported and fan-inspired. We didn't just make this record for us, we made it for all of the people that had faith in our music. For us, it isn't just an album -- it's our soundtrack of the past 11 years -- the beautiful, the ugly, the melancholy and the hopeful. It's something we're proud to share because it represents who we are and the long road we traveled to get here, or should we say...the only road." - Josh & Dave

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]15th of December 2017 will be always remembered as the date that the legendary duo Gabriel & Dresden released their new album The Only Road that is actually crowdfunded rather than being financed by record companies. The album The Only Road has made already waves thanks to the very successful singles that were released and gave us a taste of the eclectic sonic experience we are going to have soon. Let's take this cold winter Road track by track. 01. Only Road feat. Sub Teal: Driving progressive trance with chunky grooves, tribal basslines and cool vocal line that works perfectly to highlight the message and melancholy of this top notch tune. 02. Free Your Mind: Energetic progressive trancer with powerful thumping grooves, aggressive moody synthy hook and cinematic strings leading to the tripping out psy infused climax. 03. White Walls feat. Sub Teal: Already released and loved track with the classic duo's rock infused electronica and just mesmerizing vocals that cast a spell and remain in your subconscious for long. 04. This Love Kills Me feat. Sub Teal: The first single released with melancholy moodiness and the so unique groove and bassline that sounds breathtaking along with the nice rock guitar riff and well conceived vocals. 05. Underwater feat. Jan Burton: Chilling relaxing atmospheric tripping out experimental vibes ready for the summer with vocals & lyrics that will make you go deep and maybe find your way to the surface or maybe you will remain underwater for ever. 06. Hospital Piano: Great track with just piano and live crowd noises and voices making this nice intro or outro to dj sets. 07. You feat. Jan Burton: Rock guitar riffs, warm basslines, pumping organic drum beats, feel good synthy lines and vocals that you want to sing loud. 08. Sequoia: Upfront instrumental number with dominating grooves, hypnotic rhythm, moody synthy hooks, industrial rock touches and cinematic sound design to travel while you dance without moving. 09. Over Oceans feat. Josh Gabriel: Josh as a singer definitely adds his unique style while the playful grooves, laid back rhythm, guitar riffs to electrify and crawl under your skin. 10. Waiting For Winter feat. Jan Burton: Simply perfect with the word classic written all over it. One of those songs that will characterise this winter with it's great textures and will definitely juxtaposes the Andain classic Summer Calling.  Jupiter: It has energetic pumping grooves, mechanical driving basslines, old school techno infusions and superb cinematic strings with spacey breakdown to sail the nights and days away. You are the captain of your imagination and Jupiter is waiting for you to explore. 12. I'm Not Like Everybody Else: Final song is laidback chilling smooth breakbeats like anthem with synthy hook that vibrates while the vocal is haunting, meaningful and absolutely insightful. It's a challenge to walk The Only Road but its worth it! #PureGold Love It

What are you supposed to do if your loved one is struggling in life and driving you away? Vittoria Fleet create an EP that rubs salt into the wound, and it’s a beautiful pain.

Especially when living in a metropolis like Berlin or London you will know this type of person: someone with a talent, but standing in their own way. Maybe they party too much, continuously mess up in relationships or they just don’t get their shit together. It’s kinda tolerable if this is just an acquaintance, but what if this is actually your loved one?

Singer Giada Zerbo captures the essence of these emotions with her ethereal and sultry voice while producer Allan Shotter creates an organic electronica soundscape to it: title track “Entangled” hits you with its raw energy of slow violence. “Return” is the wish to bring your loved one back onto the right path. “Headradio” is the battle between closeness and dislodgement, between hope and constant longing.

The Berlin-based duo asks you all the questions: how much responsibility do we carry for the other one? Is it ok to parent our struggling lover? Is it egoistic not to? What if you see no sign of upturn? When is it ok to give up? When is it ok to think about yourself?

The four tracks of Vittoria Fleet’s “Entangled EP” don’t have an answer to all this. But they feel your pain.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Vittoria Fleet present their brilliant  Entangled EP that contain 4 exceptional pieces of expressive electronica that beautifully capture emotions and captivate the imagination of the listeners. The sound design and the atmosphere creates certain sonic   scenery that you will inhabit if you allow yourself to get immersed with the superb melodies, broken beats, melancholic emotional performance and sound effects that will surround you and demand from us to let the safe comfort of our little space and rather than just listening for pleasure or escape for a while to become more active and find meaningful answers to esoteric questions that may be there and demand from us to deal with them. All 4 tracks will work as a nice cathartic experience to encourage you to see yourself face to face with difficult situations with no clear or concise answers. Abstract and experimentally impressive Entangled EP has a reason to get some plays and find out if you have the courage or not. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

Croquet Club announces ‘Love Exposure’ mini-album coming this summer on Anjunadeep. First three singles ‘Careless Love’, ‘You Left Me’ and ’Summer' available now as instant grat downloads on iTunes, and to stream on all platforms.

Jeremy Villecourt holding the vinyl format of his EP
Frenchman Jeremy Villecourt aka Croquet Club has become an Anjunadeep fan favourite over the past two years with his unique brand of delicate downtempo electronica. With support from international tastemakers like Zane Lowe, Jason Bentley and Rob Da Bank under his belt, and coverage from The Line Of Best Fit, Mixmag and Indie Shuffle, Croquet Club now returns with his most expansive project to date – ‘Love Exposure’.

Following in the footsteps of legendary French acts like Air, Sebastian Tellier and Etienne De Crecy (who featured Croquet Club’s ‘Jacuzzi’ in his latest BBC Essential Mix), the six track mini-album sees Jeremy showcase his quirky style in true gallic fashion.

The blissful beatlessness of ‘Andante’ ushers us into Villecourt’s musical world, before his own vocals appear in the soulful ‘Careless Love’. ‘Summer’ is a joyous slice of dancefloor fun, melodic basslines bouncing beneath wistful vocals.

‘Go Slow’ will be familiar to Anjunadeep regulars after it’s appearance on the iTunes #1 Dance album ‘Anjunadeep 07’ recently – an intricate fusion of soft piano and rolling groove. Jeremy’s vocals take centre stage in 'Eternité' where his breathy lyrics, sung in French, loop hypnotically above bubbling atmospherics, before ‘You Left Me’ ends things on a beautifully contemplative note.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Croquet Club presents the truly beautiful Love Exposure EP that consists of 6 great tracks that will please your ears and elevate your senses. First of all is the chill out Andante that consists of beautiful synthy layers and cool little piano melody, distorted vocal snippets and sensual female vocals. Its fantastic intro that creates brilliant atmosphere and sets the scenery for the rest of the tracks. Careless Love is a funky electronic number with French disco basslines, mesmerising whispering vocals, cinematic strings and slow lazy calming groove that carry you away to Careless Love moments with soulful Motown music touch. Summer is the upbeat feel good moment of the EP with very eurodance 90's groove while on top percussion melodies and great vocals that cast a spell on you and stay somewhere in your heart for ever. This is the perfect mood changer that can give you that extra adrenaline rush you may need in a bad moody day. Go Slow comes next with very experimental intro that plays around with the Go Slow vocal sample, break beats and abstract melancholic piano chords. The beat is slow and smooth with percussion melodies on top and sound design that adds the 3 dimensional feel as you experience so many different layers of sounds at once. Its an overwhelming refreshing sonic wave for sure. Eternité continues on that romantic nostalgic sound with great piano rhythms and French vocals that add that special unique taste to the package. Lastly You Left Me is based upon a slowing moving little breakbeat groove while on top a very vintage sounding cinematic piano melody travel your mind to black and white photos of your family album while on top are added some pitched vocal samples. This is definitely the soundtrack for the summer. #PureGold Love It[/content]

Fous De La Mer are back with their latest album 'Musiques Pour Films'. And as the title hints the German-French electronic duo captures the full spectrum of their capabilities onto the acoustic canvas. Music that produces images, as the musicians describe their sound that is inspired appropiately by movie titles. Films that caused unforgettable moments and that have accompanied the band over the years.

'Musiques Pour Films' begins with a tribute to David Bowie, who played the leading role in 'The man who fell to earth'. With 'For The Man Who Fell To Earth' there could hardly be found a more beautiful opener, which marks their personal farewell to the exceptional artist after his unexpected death.

But the ones expecting a pure listening album are proven wrong quickly.

Downbeat and breakbeats ('Sur L'Ile Mystérieuse') meet disco and IDM vibes ('On A Ship Of Fools'), Ambient and Chillout moods ('En Plein Soleil' & 'À La Piscine') get connected with electropop ('La Nouvelle Vague').

Fous De La Mer draw on a rich pool of different varieties of electronic music. For their album the two musicians merge the styles of electronica with acoustic elements. A combination that is convincing since the mixture of a keyboardist and a bassist has proven to give exceptional results for a long time as you can see in bands for the likes of 'Air'.

With 'Musiques Pour Films' the Duo goes a further step on their way in breaking musical boundaries. Rarely an album was so diverse and yet so coherent. Listening to the album creates a feeling as one looks back at the many wonderful moments of the collected cinematographic works that Fous De La Mer reminisce for us. Like good old friends they appear as songs and let us immerse in the worlds of their models.

With 'Endless Summer' the two conclude the album while delivering the perfect happy ending for all lost hippie hearts that like us look towards the sunset on the beach.

Tracklist:
1-For The Man Who Fell To Earth
2-Sur L'Ile Mystérieuse
3-On A Ship Of Fools
4-En Plein Soleil
5-La Nouvelle Vague
6-À La Piscine
7-Sous Le Grande Bleu
8-Les Amants
9-The Letter
10-Avec Pierrot Le Fou
11-La Femme Des Sables
12-An Easy Rider
13-Un Homme Et Une Femme
14-The Endless Summer

Dimitri Kechagias on the spot: Fous De La Mer are well known for their incredible talent to create magical relaxing moving soundscapes. Their albums are always an invitation to travel without moving dreaming, hoping, enjoying the small moments that makes this world incredible. The new album definitely could  be the soundtrack of a movie and could enhance the visual content in the most exhilarating way. If you are getting lost in the endless streams of electronic music and you don't know how to navigate it I certainly recommend you to take a listen to this album and get all the benefits that offers to the listener who should be ready to escape in a faraway but so close world. Love IT

This package includes next to the album version outstanding remixes by Niconé, Gunjah & Midas 104 that are ready to fly!

Dimitri Kechagias review: The awesome single Nightfall by Sascha Braemer album featuring HRRSN is released with additional remixes. The original album mix is a modern deep electronic house beauty that is dark moody and perfect to keep the nice music flowing on deep clubs and radio stations. The remixes are the real deal in this fantastic package. Firstly is Nicone remix that is deep driving hypnotic and quite trancy with wonderful cinematic strings, magical themes and superb atmosphere that absorb your mind straight away. You will feel relaxed and totally lost in music without doubts. Gunjah remix is equally mysterious with deeper tech house foundation, great drum programming, cinematic atmospheres and electronic melodies that carry your soul to a nice journey of nearly 9 minutes without the vocal. Lastly Midas104 remix is an abstract electronic mystical journey of minimal basslines, bubbly out of tune grooves and cinematic emotional strings and synthy layers along with robotic vocals that paint this wonderful remix and add the unique character! #PureGold Love It

Dimitri Kechagias review: You can not imagine the happiness you feel when you discover first a brand new artist that in the next months will explode at the top of the charts. Quality electronic music by Adiam in her Dark Lake EP 1.  Dark Lake in its original mix is very soulful and relaxing with leftfield experimental foundation with minimal sounds and the whole focus turned on Adiam voice abilities. Savage Skulls transform the original into a deep house groover with thumping grooves and moody woobly basslines. Tyler Pope goes for the bass trap meets electro style version that has funky experimental edge with great effects and top arrangement. Luka version is smoother slower and leftfield with stretched vocals and minimal atmosphere with cinematic ambiance in the air.  Desert Island is a magical electronic beauty with dark groove, rock guitars, trumpet riffs and superb performance by Adiam who sings the mysterious inspiring lyrics that can make you face your reality from a totally different perspective. That's right you can call it life changing music experience for sure. Highly recommended. #PureGold Love It

When Vegas based musician/producer 3LAU joins forces with iconic songstress Emma Hewitt, expectations are inevitably high. 'Alive Again' breaks the mold entirely; as Emma's haunting tone permeates 3LAU's euphoric soundscape, the listener is surrounded by a uniquely cathartic aura of emotion and melody.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Armada Music presents the stunning new single by 3LAU called Alive Again featuring the magical heartfelt vocals by Emma Hewitt. The new versions package includes the experimental, acoustic and radio edits as well. The experimental mix is a wonderful dreamy relaxing balearic version with colourful layers of synthy beauty along with break beats, liquid like atmosphere and mesmerising smooth soundscapes. Emma's voice shines within the stunning sounds and the dubstep influences are quite apparent as well. The acoustic version is the version that is focusing on the vocal along with dreamy guitar underneath along with the cinematic strings that make the whole sonic experience truly glowing. Whatever version you may choose this track will manage easily to give you hope for a better shinning future! We Are Alive Again. #PureGold Love It

Polographia have the perfect ‘AM’ tune, and this one could easily be the soundtrack for just about anything.

Sunsets, late nights, beaches, clubs, long drives in a convertible — it’s all covered by this exceptionally sweet groove and vibe.

Dimitri Kechagias review: It's about time Chill Out/Lounge Music/Ambient Music to take the place that really deserves. Armada Chill works towards that direction. Polographia presents the track AM that is not exactly you expect to get on Chill Out track. The lazy groove is relaxing, the jazzy undertones and the hypnotic atmosphere merged perfectly with a slighty distorted synthy hook that will make many clubbers wondering what is going on. Its different, unique and out of this world and for that reason deserves a single release rather than be in a chill out compilation along with other tracks. It can shine on its own. Discover IT!

Having scored two Top 10 hits with their recent singles ‘Ready For Your Love’ feat. MNEK and ‘Here For You’ feat. Laura Welsh, plus a third with them in the production seat on Jess Glynne’s ‘Right Here’, Gorgon City are pleased to announce details of their next surefire smash and plans for their eagerly awaited debut album.

Continuing their run of exceptionally hooky and danceable smart pop hits, ‘Unmissable’ featuring rising star Zak Abel will lead the charge into the release of Gorgon City’s debut album ‘Sirens’ on October 6. A co-write between Matt & Kye and a songwriter with a recent hit or two of his own under his belt - Jimmy Napes (Disclosure’s ‘Latch’, Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’, Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’ – to name just a few) – ‘Unmissable’ is the perfect way to see out the summer.

Gorgon City kicked off their summer with their first ever live show performing to 8000 people at Radio 1’s Big Weekend featuring live performances from Kiesza, Maverick Sabre, MNEK. They continued apace by heading to Glastonbury and have shows at Reading & Leeds, Global Gathering and Bestival forthcoming as well as a hectic schedule mapped out in front of them across Europe. Look out for news of an extensive tour this autumn.

‘Sirens’ – the full album from Gorgon City – will include all previous hit singles (NB ‘Ready For Your Love’ has now accumulated over 26 million streams) as well as a remarkable collection of new tracks that unequivocally mark Matt & Kye out as being at the very peak of their writing and production prowess. ‘Sirens’ is a brilliantly cohesive piece of music that perfectly reflects the exciting UK dance pop climate we find ourselves in for 2014 - with Gorgon City firmly at the helm.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The best record label in the alternative house scene at the moment is Black Butter. The label has its own stage at the TomorrowWorld festival in USA and the success is not mater of luck or coincidence. It is rather the belief and support on great talents that deserve a voice and have something interesting to say with their music and lyrics. The hottest artist of the label are Gorgon City. The fantastic duo deliver stunning anthems and music that matters. Soulful revival 90's house music with futuristic cutting edge that pushes boundaries and revitalises what seems to be the next big thing for the mainstream. Unmissable includes the soulful brilliant vocals by Zak Abel who is new in my books and very promising for the future as the track will reach top position at the UK Top 40. Massive wobbly dark UK garage house bassline, sweet synthy melodies and warm 90's piano chords with attitude and confidence makes Unmissable a hit guaranteed for the cold autumn nights. The remix package is extensive with some top eclectic remixes. Dj Anna translates the original into a deep dark underground moody industrial techno odyssey that floats nicely including the top vocals minus the happy piano melodies. Pulsating boiling bassline that stands out so better don't miss it. Drum'n'bass is alive and kicking and on this package is represented by Metrik  who delivers the energetic, danceable and absolutely liquid flowing version that will carry you away for a surprising journey on the dancefloor. Huxley remix goes the UK garage house pathway and the result includes pounding basslines, chunky grooves and rave style influences to keep the ground shaking. Last but not least Everything Everything remix present the more experimental electronic punk version perfect for those lounge chill out times when you want something to keep you going in a relaxed manner but with some intense moments as well to keep you awake.  If you add on the package the imaginative music video is going to be another hit record for Gorgon City. #PureGold Love iT

The brand new release on Subjekt produced by young German producer Luc Angenehm. With this 3 track E.P. Luc is making sure you have the right impression of his work.

Morning Tea

An atmospheric track with a lot of storytelling melody’s combined with interesting percussions. The leading track of this E.P. will give you the best introduction to the following track.

Kaiser

Proceeding in the relaxing vibe that makes the sound of Luc Angenehm, but this track has a fat baseline underneath it to make things move. The big break builds up to an exciting climax, which will excite you while enjoying this masterpiece with your hands in the air

Anabel

This track Guids you to a path of emotional experiences where you will find your way to Anabel, the place you want to be.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Subject recordings explores different forms and shapes of what is termed widely as Electronic Music. Experimental, minimal, progressive, forward thinking tracks that stand out and shine with their unique touch and different approach in composition. The brand new EP by Luc Angenehm is called  Morning Tea and includes three stunning sonic adventures with irresistible sound textures and amazing warmth and tenderness that is perfect to listen while you drink your herbal tea. Morning Tea is a mesmerising blissful deep house production with wide variety of organic instruments, emotional melancholic melodies, classical music influences, xylophones themes, harps and violins that create this irresistible hypnotic atmosphere that  unfold in front of your ears as a sonic book of mysterious tales that is perfect for your Yoga lessons as well. Kaiser is a nearly nine minutes story of deep sonic eclecticism with darker atmosphere that has a trancier tripping out style. Orchestral elements  merged with cinematic strings and the tension is build and kept alive and boiling throughout upon the brooding moody bassline. Last but not least Anabel is equally long and thoughtful piece that doesn't make you feel bored or uninterested even for a second. Upon the minimal grooves he adds an echoed vocal while on first breakdown he introduce his classy classical piano melody that will give you shivers without doubts. The heavenly chorus style vocals enhance even more the exceptional cinematic atmosphere that travel your spirit to another place. What is also interesting is his ability to add natural sounds coming from everyday things rather than instruments and from them to create melodies and the stunning result that you should experience and can become easily part of a film soundtrack! #PureDiamond Love IT

With our previous EP release by Stefan Z, things are going up! That’s why we want to present you to our new artist in the roster, Kris Davis!!

A fresh new talented young man from Portsmouth, bringing you a brand new sound where it’s all about dark and moody grooves with a storytelling melody.

His new EP ‘ Closer ‘ will give you a perfect first impression of his work. A mixture of analog and digital sounds gives his music a warm feel, to make sure you feel engaged to his music!

Closer
A perfect introduction to Kris Davis, a big deep and moody groove made to get the dance floor move in a different way, when the melody is dragging you in to a place far away from the ordinary...

Anti
Broken beats, grooving percussion and the ambient sounds created a stunning second track on Kris his first release. We think that this track tells the compelling story we don’t need to write..

About Subjekt recordings: Amsterdam-based record label dedicated to warm, deep, experimental music that tells a compelling story. We set out to create a platform for talented people who aren’t afraid to bend or break the rules of convention. We’re looking for people who forge their own path — Subjekt to no one...

Dimitri Kechagias review:  There are so many romantic mythologies about the underground that nurtures new talents that some of them come up to the mainstream and others remain there and continue their struggle against codes and conventions. One of the new Armada labels that attempt to tell a different story and connect the experimental dance music scene with more mainstream audiences that will appreciate it is Subjekt recordings. Every single release so far had something truly unique and captivating. Now the latest EP by Kris Davis will continue on the same direction that sounds like driving your car within a dark tunnel where there are some little lights that come and go instantly and you can not see where to go. Kris Davis music attempts to communicate his stories in a very personal style that will magnetise you for sure. If you love to play music that invites the listener to abandon the conventional and experience the unconventional then don't look any further than the two tracks included on Closer EP. Closer is an exceptional minimal deep tech house beauty with deep minimal bassline and drum beat that you can hear in the background while on top there are various sounds from nature. The breakdown reveals the epic synthy lead that adds some colour and character to the proceedings and adds the right rhythm and tone to the track to move forward. A bit esoteric and sceptical track that can keep the dancefloor grooving and hypnotise the crowd that will be mesmerised from the fantastic soundscapes that this track can build in your mind like castles in the sand.  Anti is the 2nd track and will definitely surprise you with its totally relaxing atmosphere that starts with break beats and mysterious cold and distant atmosphere. The 4 to 4 beat makes its appearance nearly the end and makes this track the perfect intro track choice in your deep techno / deep tech house set. Subjekt recordings is an object of desire for many deep house/eclectic ears out there! #PureGold Love iT
