[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]LOVE CODE 101, a masterclass in deep, raw, progressive trance production, is a testament to Alex M.O.R.P.H.’s talent under his MRPHLNDR alias. With a captivating dark melodic drive and a BPM of 132, the track immerses fans of modern underground trance from the very first note. From a technical standpoint, the production demonstrates meticulous layering and arrangement. The opening sequence features wide, cosmic pad work that establishes a vast atmosphere, immediately followed by a clean, punchy kick that anchors the low end. The bassline is both grounding and rolling, built with subtle modulation to keep the energy shifting naturally throughout the track. What stands out is the seamless integration of analog-style synths with polished digital sound design, giving the track both warmth and precision. The track’s midsection showcases soaring leads that rise through the mix with impeccable EQ placement, never clashing with the harmonic richness of the pads. In the breakdown, robotic-style vocals are processed with vocoders and spatial effects that add a haunting, futuristic dimension. These elements are complemented by a melancholic, epic lead synth that swells into the foreground, carrying the emotional heart of the track and guiding it into a euphoric, trippy climax. From a production process perspective, it’s clear that careful attention was paid to dynamic automation, stereo imaging, and reverb tails, giving the entire piece a spacious yet cohesive feel. The final master is tight and powerful, maintaining clarity even as the arrangement becomes densely layered, which is a testament to both expert mixing and mastering. Fans of deep raw progressive trance will adore LOVE CODE 101 for its hypnotic progression, intricate sound design, and emotional storytelling. It strikes the perfect balance between underground credibility and peak-time energy, making it a track that resonates equally on dark club floors and in the headphones of devoted trance listeners. #PureGold #LoveIT

First came ‘shivelight’, then ‘sonata’, and last month Solarstone delivered us his introspective ‘innermost’ with the release of the musician/DJ’s ninth studio album. Into July, and the LP’s singles take on a more vocal nature, as hand in hand with singer-songwriter Clara Yates, he brings us ‘your sacrifice’.

In keeping with the album’s unflinchingly open-book approach, Richard was looking for equally fearless collaborators for it, and in the English-born/Australian-based artist he most certainly found one.

“Clara’s wrote the song about her father, and when I heard the vocal, it struck me immediately. Around the time, I’d been thinking a lot about my own relationship with my kids — periods being away from them, on tour and what that means to everyone involved.“
Clara goes on to elaborate, “I’m a firm believer of songwriting done right. Songs have to mean something and come from the depths of somebody and not just be words for the sake of them.

'As Clara says, ‘your sacrifice' was written about my father Frederick who raised me and my siblings alone back in the late 80s - 90s. With a very ill mother, no struggle or sacrifice was too great to ensure we were fed, had a roof over out head, homework done on time, whilst making sure we all had smiles on our faces. Not enough praise goes to single fathers and just how tough it is for them. They deserve all the recognition and good in the world.”
Talking about ‘your sacrifice’s production, Rich continues ‘I decided to keep Clara’s voice really soft in the mix. I wanted people to lean into it, to really have to listen close to what she was saying.” From there, he musically expanded the album’s original vision into a full-length, 12” voyage, embracing its progressive house core to the nth. Melting melodies, bass pulse and its cinematically-edged strings all combine to move hearts, minds, and dancefloors in equal measure.
‘your sacrifice' is available via all major sales and streaming platforms now here
The ‘innermost’ album is on full release and available ‘here’.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Solarstone and Clara Yates join forces to deliver the mesmerizing track "Your Sacrifice," a masterclass in melodic deep progressive trance set at an evocative 126 BPM. The production intricacies highlight Solarstone’s signature purity in sound design, seamlessly blending traditional trance elements with modern progressive nuances to craft a deeply immersive auditory experience. The track opens with lush, emotive piano chords, setting a serene yet poignant atmosphere. These chords are meticulously processed with subtle reverb and delay effects, creating an expansive soundstage that envelops the listener. The atmospheric breakdown that follows serves as a canvas where ambient textures intertwine with ethereal pads, showcasing advanced layering techniques that add depth and spatial dynamics. As "Your Sacrifice" progresses into the main section, the production unveils deep, pulsating basslines that are both warm and resonant. The bass is carefully EQ'd to maintain clarity, allowing it to drive the track without overpowering the melodic elements. Soft kicks, crafted with precision to provide a gentle yet firm rhythmic foundation, complement warm, organic-sounding drums. These percussion elements are enhanced with delicate high-frequency embellishments, such as shakers and subtle hi-hats, which add movement and intricacy. A standout feature is the orchestral strings arrangement, which injects a cinematic quality into the track. These strings are layered with multi-timbral synth patches, utilizing modulation and dynamic automation to evolve throughout the composition, adding emotional crescendos that resonate deeply. Clara Yates’ vocal performance is undeniably the soul of "Your Sacrifice." Her vocals are captured with pristine clarity, using high-quality condenser microphones to preserve every nuance of her emotive delivery. The vocals are treated with tasteful reverb and delay, creating a sense of space without detracting from their intimacy. Multiband compression and careful de-essing ensure that her voice sits perfectly within the mix, shining through the lush instrumentation. Lyrically, the song delves into themes of personal growth and emotional resilience, with words that are both profound and universally relatable. The synergy between Clara’s heartfelt lyrics and Solarstone’s masterful production results in a track that not only moves the body but also touches the heart and soul. Overall, "Your Sacrifice" is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship of both artists. It’s a track that showcases the perfect balance between technical prowess and emotional expression, making it a standout piece in the realm of progressive trance. #PureGold indeed. Love IT[/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Expanding on the initial review, "Grace" by MRPHLNDER, an alias of the renowned Alex M.O.R.P.H., in collaboration with Waves_On_Waves, emerges as a masterclass in progressive trance production. The track operates within a meticulously crafted 126 BPM framework, ideal for maintaining energetic pacing while allowing emotional elements to flourish. From a technical standpoint, "Grace" shines through its intricate layering, where each sonic element is meticulously placed to create a harmonious yet dynamic soundscape. The foundation is built on a driving kick drum and a solid, punchy bassline that provides both rhythm and warmth. This rhythmic base is complemented by crisp hi-hats and snappy percussion, enhancing the groove without overwhelming the melodic content. The melodic architecture is where "Grace" truly excels. The magical piano chords are not merely decorative; they are structurally integral, offering both harmonic support and emotional depth. These chords are processed with subtle reverb and delay effects, creating a spacious, ethereal quality that resonates throughout the track. I first teased it in my Anjuna live stream on the Jurassic coast and the requests to release it have been nonstop.” - Mr. Sosa
"I wanted to combine a thunderous, percussive groove with an atmospheric, sun-kissed breakdown to get the best of both worlds." - Alex Wright

These days, ‘expect more’ is how Pavel Khvaleev believes audiences should approach electronic music. And he’s spent the last dozen years raising those expectations. Composer, filmmaker, producer and a polymath-like range of other skills have resulted in the uniting of some of electronic music’s most striking sounds & images. Since Moonbeam’s 2016 disbanding, Pavel has thrown himself even deeper into the extraordinary audio/visual and highly conceptual universe he and his brother began. On the surface, a spectacle for eye and ear, underneath it’s a swirling melange of deeper meaning, channelled through the avant-garde, meditative, metaphysical & psychological.

As ever supported by his artistic troupe (Avis Vox, Blackfeel Wite, Jacob A. and many others), in the spring Pavel released his sophomore solo album. Based on the premise that every random person passing us is living a life as vivid and complex as our own, ‘Sonder’s opening track was the once-heard/impossible-to-forget ‘Videos’.

For it, he collaborated with Karl Zine and Nai Jannson of UK twosome RINNGS. Their innovative techniques, using multi-layered male/female vocal tracks was something that Pawel folded into ‘Videos’, bringing his own polyphonic sounds and analogue synths in as support. Adding subtle bass waves and harmonic trance sequences, collectively it conspires the track’s extraordinary dream-like air of cruising tranquillity.

Karl and Nai performance is a classic two-hander, each voice beautifully playing off the other. Line by lyrical line, the song moves between the overt, implied and the veiled. Part-meditation on the sometimes-fleeting nature of love, lyrically its ‘Videos’ are metaphors for memories - blurred, subjective and half-remembered as they often are.

All in all it’s taken six months for the Russian to fully realise the track as a single release and if that sounds like the longer time, one look at its official video will convince you otherwise. A production in every sense of the word, it’s an extraordinary accompanying work, shedding considerable additional light on ‘Videos’ implication.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]First of all Good Luck to this new and very promising label. Orphyd unleashes 2 exquisite tracks that can stand out easily and become part of any deep progressive trance or house DJ set. Classy deep driving sounds with smooth grooves, bubbly basslines and most importantly magical melodies with certain exotic orient feel. Totem is very smooth and spacious with hypnotic rhythm and very emotional harp melody contemplated with ethnic vocals. Slow Run starts with ambient intro and slowly moves to a much more upfront colorful main section with pulsating basslines, pounding grooves and electro aggressive greedy touches making it perfect for DJ sets from artists like Above & Beyond. Very classy package not to be missed. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

We continue our 25th year celebrations with another classic remixed in contemporary style. This time around Matan Caspi gets to grips with Tiesto's 1996 cut The Tube which first appeared on our XTC imprint back in the day. Tiesto aka Tijs Verwest really needs no introduction, he's achieved global success in the last 20 years playing in massive arenas to sold out concerts as well as unleashing a torrent of music in that time. His early days stretch right back to 1990 and he is the man behind a multitude of aliases which littered the early 90's with some memorable moments. He first appeared for us on Bonzai Jumps with Glycerine - 666 in 1995 which also led to contributions on other BJ cuts. His first release as DJ Tiesto was this one which came around the same time as his other Bonzai Jumps releases - Second Game and When I was A Sperm - under his Tom Ace and TB X-Press (with Bjorn Wendelen aka DJ Ghost) monikers respectively. Matan Caspi takes to the helm on the remix and yet again he impresses with his attention to dishing out pure quality progressive house. Based in Tel Aviv he remains undoubtedly one of the most productive electronic music producers under the spotlight. He has been constantly developing his music productions and his work has been internationally exposed and played by many artists and top DJis around the globe. Over the years he has amassed 15 original cuts with us at Bonzai HQ as well as a ton of remixes and appearances on many compilations. He's also a regular visitor to our Bonzai Basik Beats radioshow where he delivers tight mixes at every turn. He runs the label Outta Limits together with his good friend and production partner Stan Kolev and is always busy with touring and concentrating on his future productions, where you will find original, raw and innovative material. Matan captures the essence of the original track beautifully adding a delicate modern twist that will definitely grab a lot of attention. A deep rumbling bassline drives the track alongside a tight drum section filled with chunky beats and rhythmic percussions. You just know something special is on its way as a subtle intensity creeps into the sound. As the intro gets us in the mood a rich pad changes the whole dynamic of the track adding brighter tones and making way for the outstanding Jarre-esque synths. Some very cool artistic flair is added with tumbling orchestral drums that leads us back into full on mode for the duration. An absolute stomper of a track that will not disappoint, a must have for sure.

Next up in our series of remixed classics, celebrating our 25th year, we present a contemporary take on one of our most recognisable anthems from back in the day. Progressive maestro Gai Barone takes the driving seat on this one as he delves deep into the anatomy of Universal Nation, penned in 1998 by a stalwart of Belgian trance - Push. From the very first play out, this one became an instant classic with its soaring synths, chugging bassline, swirling melodies and driving beats. It quickly gained a massive worldwide following as it spearheaded a burgeoning scene creating a multitude of hands in the air moments for the masses. Overwhelmed by the response, Push aka M.I.K.E. soon found himself travelling the world and playing out in front of thousands, both as a DJ and using a live band set-up. The track also spawned a plethora of remixes from a wide range of artists including Ferry Corsten and Oliver Lieb among others. In 2016, Universal Nation was voted number 1 on Studio Brussel's The Greatest Switch Top 100 tracks which, stands as a testament to the high regard this track and its creator is held among music lovers.

Over the last number of years one name has been synonymous with deep, melodic progressive grooves, Gai Barone. He delivers pure quality with everything he touches and is very much revered by his peers as an inspirational figure. He is no stranger to Bonzai Progressive, he's contributed several tracks and remixes that have gained great support and he continues to lead the way with his tight production skills and creativity. The perfect choice for this one we think. On the remix Gai takes us on a sublime journey with his alternative take on this classic. Right from the off we find ourselves drawn in as surreal, swirling pads and FX create a scattered texture. Chunky kick drums soon follow and a super tight drum arrangement keeps the rhythm flowing. Vocals from the original masterpiece are on display as well as extended vocal snippets from the original source. In comes that classic melody that fades into existence to the backdrop of a solid, driving bassline that captivates the mind. The break is simply sublime as Gai takes the tempo down before rising back into full on mode. An absolute stomping remix that will definitely become a firm favourite among many.

2017 marks a milestone year for us at Bonzai, we're 25! To mark this momentous occasion we've got some amazing surprises that are coming your way over the next 12 months. We kick off the celebrations with a tantalising remix of an absolute classic from an absolute legend, Jam El Mar goes to work on one of Bonzai's most famous releases - The House Of House by Cherrymoon Trax. First released in 1994 on Bonzai Records - catalogue number for the trainspotters is BR 94054 - THOH fuelled the beginning of a new wave of harder edged sounds and tracks that build and build with epic climaxes. Cherrymoon Trax were a veritable who's who in the Belgian electronic music scene, borne out of the phenomena that was New Beat, a collection of artists including Bjorn Wendelen, David Brants, Eddy Weyns, Franky Kloeck, Ilya Depuydt, Kris Vanderheyden, Nico Deleu, Pascal Quatretemps, Peter Schiettekatte, Philip Dirix, Youri De Pauw, Yves Deruyter got together and the rest is history. Although the group members have changed over the years the legacy remains. While all this was going on, Jam El Mar aka Rolf Ellmer - alongside his long time friend and studio partner, the late great Mark Spoon aka Markus Lˆffel, were taking electronic music to new heights as Jam & Spoon with the likes of Follow Me and Stella among many others. So we just knew that he was the perfect candidate to get this party started in style. Keep an eye out for more info as each month we will have a new classic remixed by the cream of the electronic music crop.

The remix delivers a solid techno fuelled ride filled with nostalgia and a burning dancefloor agenda. We're taken deep with this one and from the intro we're locked on. A steady pulsing bass note and percussion hit combo trails a fading in "the house of house" vocal. A hypnotic synth pluck comes in before the monster kicks take hold with a powerful bass landing on the beat. The classic synths that we all know join in and, while slowed down still carry the same obsessive, infectious groove that digs deep into your soul. After an intense build up we find ourselves completely spaced out as those synths work their magic. A superb tribute to a much loved classic that will keep the legacy stronger than ever.
