A true activist in Electronic music of all kinds for well over 15 years, Belgian Airwave’s discography counts more than 250 records and dozens of remixes, many of them being supported by the biggest names of the industry. Genius Composer and Performer, the man’s imprint on the scene is remarkable. Hit by surprise by a virus called Electronic Dance music, Laurent developed his knowledge of music and technology in Parallel until his first demos saw the light of day in may of 1995. 1996 saw him release his first tracks on the infamous Bonzai imprint, but that is 1998 that saw him grow up and become the progressive trance artist we know today, with the release of his first Airwave record, I want to Believe, immediately picked up by UK’s own Sasha and Oakenfold, and later on by up and coming youngster Tiësto, gaining popularity as much as he was playing Laurent’s records. The same can be said about the whole dutch trance scene, in which Laurent’s records were and still are omnipresent. That is how Laurent developed his DJ and performer’s career from back then, having several gigs worldwide, from Tokyo to San Francisco, from Auckland, NZ to Toronto, and from Manchester to Athens. Hundreds of gigs saw him perform at the world’s biggest clubs of those times, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, The Gallery, 1015, Dopler in Bratislava, and many others, all of them had the chance to welcome Laurent Airwave one day, if not several times, which proves that you don’t need to overcommercialize your music to get rewarded all around the world. «Everyday is full of new challenges, and limits only exist into the human brain» are Airwave’s words of wisdom for every single day. Don’t limit the man to a single genre, as his 15 years in the business gave him the ability to execute any style of music with a true sense of perfection and achievement.

[item value="10"]Airwave - Extronic[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Airwave is one of the most iconic artists from Belgium responsible for some of the most forward thinking tracks of all time. His productions embrace wide variety of genres and his tracks will be played again and again as their melodies and productions techniques and tricks are simply out of this world. When I received his first record on his own label Airwave Music I was really surprised and extremely excited about what the future holds for Airwave. Extronic is a blissful melodic progressive beauty that can easily get plays on deep melodic house & techno sets and on deep trance raw sets. Tribal chunky grooves, techy basslines, thumping percussions, vocal snippets, ethereal themes, warm strings and most important the cinematic sound design that is immersive and absorb the listener's imagination straight away as you will be hooked and hypnotized straight away. This is such an amazing time for Laurent with a label focused on what he is really about! Extronic will not disappoint not even for a moment. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

[item value="10"]Cape Town - Tears of Jupiter (Fables 100th Release) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Cape Town project is back aka Ferry Tayle & Airwave for the Fables 100th Release called Tears of Jupiter. You guess it right that these two talented artists have cooked very carefully for us, their very satisfying menu. The track starts with excellent melancholic long intro with sad strings melodies. The dominating  tough 135 BPM beat comes in with thumping drums, pounding techy kicks and driving basslines. On top various melodic layers added with main characteristic the anthemic dark synthy riff. The breakdown is long and teasing with the sad synthy orchestral strings getting the central stage and creating the perfect soundscape. The climax is melancholic and anthemic at the same time delivering the perfect trance trip that recalls the late 90's days when trance was all about progression of melodies and building slowly and gradually a long and satisfying journey. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Pattern is the top progressive label by Dylhen that manage in short to period to become one of the coolest progressive outlets. It's time for a real legend to come on the label and that is the beloved Airwave. His track  The Flow as the track suggests is a magnificent travelling track with beautiful arrangement and sound design that you simply can not stop listening on repeat. The tribal percussion, his thumping driving basslines, the guitar riffs and the magnificent electronic synthy hooks minimal but still very infectious creates a sense of mystery and sets the atmosphere for the hypnotic flowing and floating journey. It's the type of track that in its 125 BPM manage to get you involved and become slowly immersed in its credible tapestry of sounds and effects. #PureAudioDelight Love iT[/content]

On #MyTrance section I will select for you my most adored trance tracks each time that exemplify and illustrate the greatness of trance music. My monumental moments in trance. Press Play and enjoy!

Two Full Moons & A Trout (Caspar Pound Remix - Remastered)

Deep driving basslines, ethnic vocals that I love and epic effects that sound perfect in a big loud sound system. Nearly 13 minutes of audio pleasure.

Dreams · Quench

One of the very eternal trance classics is Dreams with excellent breakbeat driving percussive groove like foundation, weird wonky synths and of course the bells, the vocal and the most memorable synthy line ever to make you Dream the night away. Perfection in trance for sure.

Pablo Gargano - Everyone's Future

Super energic hi-nrg trance with quite upfront techno beat, energetic basslines, trancy voices on top and excellent application of the stunning Akira movie vocals. It's one of these tracks that always make me cry in the breakdown followed by an euphoric climax and plenty of acid overtones with larger than life synthy hook to keep your spirit really high!

Paragliders - Oasis

When the legend Oliver Lieb combines his forces with Torsten Stenzel then the result is a melody that is already part of our trance DNA. It is so powerful and uplifting that is hard to resist its incredible energy. The track itself is pure genius in music composition and sound design. Full of variations and small details adding to the funky edge far and away from formulaic trance styles.

Jam and Spoon - Odyssey to Anyoona

Jam and Spoon are responsible for the most beloved remix of the eternal classic Age of Love. Their Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 album included tracks that stand out for their instant artistry and excellent sound composition. Odyseey to Anyoona is a tripping out nearly 10 minutes journey with tribal grooves, warm melancholic synths and the wah wah exotic vocals along with that airy piano melody. Inspiring music from outer space produced in Germany.

Sean Dexter -  Synthetica (Extended Mix)

Sean Dexter has produced some of the finest tracks in the golden age of Frankfurt trance with pounding drums, driving basslines and most importantly the strongest synthy hook that you will experience ever in a long and teasing breakdown with robotic vocals. So powerful that will make you jump instantly from your chair.

Matt Darey presents  Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (Signum's 1999 Remix)

One of the most magnificent trance tracks with the incredible spoken vocal sample Gamemaster by Lost Tribe received the finest remix by the Dutch powerhouse Signum. His remix applies all the elements of the original within his own Dutch club trance sound that is impossible to resist. Floating and flowing this remix has passed the test of time into eternity.
Everlast · The Ambush

The always stand out Oliver Lieb as The Ambush creates the very magical airy groovy progressive track Everlast with exotic vocals and mysterious inspiring melody that crawl under your skin and make you instantly to start dancing with some Michael Jackson influences.

Airwave - Above The Sky

Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave in the gold age of trance under various names and collaborators has produced some of the most infectious trance classics. Above the Sky employs the tough pounding tech infused metallic bassline and raw grooves to reach the glorious breakdown with the spoken vocal sample and one of the biggest synthy hooks of all time.

Visions of Shiva - How Much Can You Take?

Excellent driving progressive trance track with atmospheric long intro leading to the release of the very large synthy hook that injects you energy instantly. Travelling and tripping out track that wins your heart and make you wanna float on the dancefloor.

LNG - Inter City

LNG is the excellent project by Lange who is considered as one of the most imaginative producers and super dj behind the decks as well. Inter City is a huge 10 minutes epic that drives along with airy trance melodies that make you feel like travelling in a huge intercity train. If you close your eyes you can see this journey in your imagination passing by places and wonderful smiling human beings waving you goodbye. Absolutely out of this world for sure.

It was Airwave who fired the starting shot for Bonzai’s now three-years-and-running ‘In The Mix – Progressive Sessions’ series back in the summer of 2015. Maintaining a clockwork-regular two-per-year release-tempo, it most recently dropped Gai Barone’s Feb-released ‘006’ edition. (“9/10 - the ethos of progressive captured” said MIXMAG upon its arrival). ‘ITM007’ - out this autumn, sees its mix-baton passed back into the hands of the Belgian. In the pursuit of conquering even ‘ITM 001’s dizzying heights, Laurent has gone the extra mile brilliantly networking 28 tracks into 150 mind-expanding minutes of progressive eminence.

Along its path you’ll make contact with freshly sourced studioware from Gai Barone, Jerome Isma-Ae & Alastor, John 00 Fleming, Eelke Kleijn, Oovation & Yoachim, The Stupid Experts, Stan Kolev and a progressively star-filled sky of others. It also includes material from Airwave’s own most recent release (the DJ Mag 8/10 scoring ‘Bliss EP’), as well as hot-from-the-studio production ‘Attraction’ and two purpose built intro pieces, which establish the feel for each of its discs.

With mixing skills almost otherworldly in their ability to blend without margin and a blackbelt understanding the composition of its assembled music, Laurent serves the album a cultured, layered and textually intense experience unlike any other.

In the most classic of senses, Airwave overtures with his bespoke ‘ITM007: Intro Part 1’ creation. It places the anticipatory sounds of an orchestral string section tuning up against atmospheric pads and intruding drum march. Scene luminously set, it cedes to allow the air-spun melodics of Eelke Kleijn’s ‘The Calling’, Slam Duck’s drumatic retake of Narel’s ‘Circle Sky’ and Airwave’s own swirling prog-noir ‘Gravy Train’ in. Around its midpoint, Rauschhaus’ rebuild of Oovation & Yoachim’s ‘Open It Wide’ finds common ground with the bassy prowl of ‘Night And Day’ from The Stupid Experts. As Mix1 thunders hypnotically towards its terminus, Laurent feeds ‘Bliss’ - the lead track from his latest EP – into its system, before reaching its atmospheric apex through brilliantly vivid ‘Eclipticum’ from Cortex Thrill.

Storm’s-coming drums & scudding bass notes herald mix 2’s arrival. Giving tone, tempo and sonic tenacity a nudge, Laurent also allows a shot-glass’-worth of trancier liquor into his mix. Basil O’Glue’s netherworldian ‘Shrine’ flashes the steel; Stan Kolev’s ‘Utopia’ (in its Audio Noir Trip version) adds darker, even more sonorous notes, while ‘Voyage’ from Andromedha ups its celestial ante. Midway through, Airwave slips his newie ‘Attraction’ in, which makes a lightning connection to Gai Barone’s ‘Flash’. As the ether turns darker again, Jerome Isma-Ae & Alastor’s ‘Timelapse’ bring the moodily rolling bass and crunchier percussive elements in. That sets up John 00 Fleming & EEEmus’ (per DJ Mag “chunky, warpy and not without its funkier moments”) ‘Drop From The Vile’ up to deliver the release’s final coup de grace.

If a journey into the very heart of the music is what you’re after, call off the search – Airwave’s ‘In The Mix 007 - Progressive Sessions’ is available to order here (https://bit.ly/2yRtzfs

More about Airwave:
Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave aka many many other guises was born in Brussels in 1977, he is a naturally gifted artist and this manifested in him at the age of just 7. Influenced by the 80′s and 90′s sounds and by greats such as Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Orbital, Oliver Lieb and BT, he honed his skills in music knowledge and technology. Laurent would then see demos picked up by the infamous Bonzai imprint in 1996 and the stunning Airwave – “I want To Believe” was released. In 1998 this was picked up by many top DJ’s including Sasha and Oakenfold and later on by an up and coming DJ, Tiesto. Airwave’s sound was and still is prominent in the UK and Dutch trance scene and this has helped a host of today’s top DJ’s be where they are now. His infectious music spread further in 1999 to Germany, Italy and the world and now Airwave is a very popular name on the EDM scene with a huge, loyal fan-base.

Versatility and great skill in the studio led to many collaborations including with his friend Jurgen Leyers forming together Fire & Ice and E.N.E.R.G.Y., with Georges Petkidis on some Planisphere tracks and with Marnik Braeckevelt as Antidote. The list continues with many other greats including Yves Deruyter, M.I.K.E., Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Tale, Marcus Schulz and John 00 Fleming, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Breaking boundaries and turning his hand to many genres of music Laurent has as many as 500+ productions and remixes under his belt. Laurent then started to develop his DJing and live performances and has played in some big venues, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, The Gallery, 1015, Dopler in Bratislava, and many others back in the day.

In 2000 he embarked on a new wave of performance with gigs all over the world in England, Scotland, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Canada, Netherlands, Spain, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, South Africa, with totally improvised keyboards while DJing and the Triloset was born and continues to this day. Fast approaching 20 years in the business, Laurent can never be pigeon-holed to one genre as his impressive list of albums will attest. His first album “Believe” in 2002 performed very well and this was to do well again in the 2004 album “I Want To Believe”. “Trilogique” soon followed and it is now that Laurent’s passion starts to come through in a big way. Released first in 2006 this album contains three parts, bringing the audience three different tastes of electronic music into one single package, “Trilogique” would go on to be a huge success reaffirming Laurent’s position in EDM. Many more albums followed and each have made their mark on the world.

Time saw him finally running Banshee Worx with his long time partners and friends Marnik and Fly, and also expanding his knowledge of acoustics in order to develop his career as a producer and as a sound designer among others. Laurent runs a monthly radio show called Progrez where he showcases a wide range of music, this is followed religiously by his army of fans the world over. Music that is full of emotion, special and unique with expressed feelings, many have claimed it has changed their lives for the better. When there are discussions on greats of EDM the name Airwave-Laurent always crops up.

He has a deep respect among his peers for his beliefs on the industry and he speaks honestly about how he feels and where he sees his musical vision take him. One of the most gifted artists of our time and with a passion still very strong we are sure to see a lot more from this man. Laurent’s works under many of his guises can be found at all good download stores and a comprehensive list of his various aliases can be found at Bonzai Music artist pages or Discogs.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Airwave is one of the most gifted producers of his generation and his music making is always at the top of the ladder. His latest EP is just brilliant with two tracks that move to quite different directions. Firstly Time Is A Healer is  a brilliant dark progressive trance anthem with psy influences. Dark thumping basslines, pounding drums, superb percussion, haunting atmosphere, moody synthy lines and cinematic vocal samples turns this track into a powerful hypnotic dream affair that will please those who search for quality sounds. Forget the Past is a more melodic affair with nice drive, pulsating basslines, pumping drums and cool positive feel good synthy themes that add colour and atmosphere and will inspire us all to forget the past and move forward aspiring for a better bright future. #PureGold Love IT  [/content]

PlugInGuru & Bonzai Progressive are proud to announce the release of Airwave - Volume 2. This is the 2nd patch library of Trance - Psy Trance - Progressive House/Trance patches by Airwave.

Airwave - Volume 1 was one of the biggest selling 3rd party patch libraries ever created for Omnisphere. 18 months later, this new library has arrived and comes with a slew of new patches that perfectly compliment Volume 1 without duplicating the sounds found in the original. Volume 2 has a more aggressive - harsh - distorted tone to many patches that have a modular synthesizer vibe to them. The arpeggiator patterns are a bit more complex and melodic, the drums are now sample-based. There are over 30 inspiring new texture samples that are derived from past Airwave productions! By using advanced sound design techniques to create these textures and then looping them, owners of this library gain a large number of new samples (not just patches) to use for their own music compositions and productions.

The library is packed with 273 patches, over 80 multis and over 90 new samples (Kicks, Snares, HiHats and the Texture samples mentioned previously). The Multis cover lots of ground giving you drone and texture Multis that cross-fade between 4 samples by simply moving the modulation wheel. There are drum grooves where 8 notes play 8 different drum - arpeggiator grooves. There are drum menus where each of the 8 notes are different Kicks, Snares or HiHats. And then there are a bunch of Multis that showcase how well the patches and club shaking drum patches work together by layering drum grooves and Bass - Synth BPM patches to create complete music productions which are easily modified by the for your own productions.

Airwave - Volume 2 retails for $45 but is on sale until January 5th 2017 for just $39.
Furthermore, a purchase of Airwave - Volume 2 also includes a bonus library called the "10/20 Collection" which has 200 patches from the other diverse and equally incredible libraries for Omnisphere 2 that PlugInGuru currently sells.

Tomorrowland 2014 will be documented as one of the brightest and most important years of the world's leading electronic dance music festival, which every year attracts visitors from all over the world to Belgium. The ten year celebration was the most exquisite that you could ever imagine. Tomorrowland's key to success is the festival goers. The most up-for-it crowd who have travelled miles across the globe, just to experience a once-in-a-lifetime mad atmosphere which the festival offers, non stop for three days.

Tomorrowland's 2014 two-weekend edition was beyond anyone’s expectations and surpassed all expectations, giving revellers memories which will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Many visitors hit the social networks when they returned home, telling everyone how Tomorrowland 2014 changed their lives!

There were so many reasons to be amazed while you walk or dance around the Tomorrowland grounds. The mindblowing state of the art Mainstage packed with lazer effects and pyrotechnics, the new magnificent stages such as the beautiful and truly theatrical Opera stage, the magical Garden of Madness decorated with natural flowers and even swimming pool, the smallest underground stage Rave Cave and of course the boat stage that Bonzai Music had its fantastic line up of top class djs.

Many people consider Bonzai Music to be one of the cornerstones in Belgium's contribution to the global electronic dance music culture. The legendary imprint from Antwerp is responsible for many well-known classics that are either remixed, reworked or recreated thousands of times. Both weekends the line-up was absolutely incredible, and included, Airwave, Bonzai All Stars, CP, DJ Fire, Eric Powa B, Franky Kloeck, Ghost, Nico Parisi. M.I.K.E Push, Yves Deruyter, Zolex, Bountyhunter and Phi Phi. Proof of the popularity and influence of the beloved label today is that the stage was packed all day long. Many fans came specifically to visit this stage and to re-live memories from the past, and enjoy the classics. After our interview at the Luminosity Festival in Amsterdam, I met up with Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave, right after his set at the Bonzai stage, and I sought an interview. He is a very polite and warm-hearted person, and he agreed to record an interview and I hope you will enjoy the result.

First of all Airwave talks about his DJ set over the second weekend and says if he is satisfied with the result and the crowds response to it.  Next he tells us his opinion of the Tomorrowland festival, and he congratulates the organisers of the festival on its tenth year anniversary. Next he reveals his personal key to happiness, and offers some interesting spiritual advice. I asked if the DJ set he delivered over the second weekend was exactly the same the first, and he chooses some of the stand-out tracks from his second weekend DJ set. Also, we discuss about the contribution Bonzai music has made to the global electronic dance music culture, and if the new direction of the label towards deeper progressive house sounds has paid off. He speaks about his record label LCD, and its current and forthcoming releases. Then he mentions his personal releases on Bonzai Progressive & JOOF, and he tells us about his forthcoming DJ gigs all over the world. This includes Argentina, thanks to his signing with Jam DJ Agency in the UK. The Green martian, now there's a name from the past that's made a welcome return. Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave returns under his Green martian guise and that means things will get seriously banging while in Green martin mode... we mean 140 BPM banging! The beast is unleashed supported by yet more hard hitting remixes from: Splattered Implant, Alan Ruddick and Gary Delaney.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Airwave is back and he has amazing music to release for us. On Joof V2 brings his The Green Martian alter ego after many years and of course things are changing and music is progressing. As a result the new The Green Martian remains on that aggressive tech trance style but Laurent now injects his psy trance elements as well in order to deliver the powerful and ready to blow A Last One For The Road. Focus element in the breakdown is the ethnic style flute melody in the breakdown that adds this tripping out taste to it. The climax is full on powerful and to the point razor sharp psy meets tech trance hands in the air anthem. Splattered Implant remix transforms the original into straight forward psy trancer with the well known psy trance kick and bassline that is energetic and driving with extensive use of the flute melody along with new vocal samples. Gary Delaney remix is melodic progressive trance version that is minimal, chunky with housey groove and deep basslines. Really blissful and dreamy this remix has balearic trance tendencies. Lastly Alan Ruddick remix represents the new psy trance sound that includes uplifting trance elements with constant drive and energy rush that will explode all over the place! Love iT

Solar Fields is without a doubt one of the most talented electronic producers we’ve seen on this planet. Under moniker Solar Fields, he composed 12 albums and appeared on over 60 various compilations. The first solo release, Reflective Frequencies, signed on Ultimae in 2001 presented an ambient music patchwork with a constant yet ever-changing structure, at times cold and mechanic, at others warm and soothing. A very promising debut which set the pace for Blue Moon Station two years later, where the artist explored the high tech downtempo and trance energies and focused on the notion of a long fluid story in a futuristic environment. The last couple of years we’ve seen Solar Fields focusing on the more chill ambient side of his career, so a little nudge and encouragement from label boss John 00 fleming made Solar Fields rediscover this dance side of himself to produce this outstanding master piece that we’re super proud to release hear at JOOF Recordings. Pulse was born.To add icing to this very special cake, a producer that also shares the title of being one of the most talented producers on the planet, firmly put his hand up to do remix duties after hearing the news of our signing. Airwave brings his outstanding breaks goodness making one of the highest quality releases that we’ve seen on JOOF recordings.

Dimitri Kechagias review: JOOF recordings presents the return of the well known trance producer Solar Fields who always presents tracks that standout and there is difficulty to categorize them under certain genre. For instance his latest track on JOOF is a magnificent neo psy-progressive trancer with excellent hypnotic atmosphere, Jean Michel Jarre influenced old school analogue like synths, pulsating deep basslines, psy trance kick that pushes the track forward and amazing atmosphere that mesmerise the listener ad absorb him deep in the mysterious microworld that opens thousands of possibilities for sonic experiences. The beloved Airwave, who will perform both weekends on the Bonzai stage at Tomorrowland festival is on remixing duties and his version is absolutely essential for any psy breaks fan. His production techniques and great sense for soundscapes and magical sounddesign are well known and once again he gives us an example of high class flowing breaks that build intensity and keep the dancefloor energised from start to finish. Melodramatic melodic themes, spacey sound effects, detailed synthy work and rich cinematic sound to transcend you to a higher level! Airwave is back and never fail to satisfy our underground aesthetics.  #PureGold Love iT

Friday 14th of September was that very special day that trancers from all over the world gathered for the amazing event Luminosity Trance Gathering. Once again the Luminosity Foundation organised a very special night with excellent sound system, stunning decoration, brilliant lasers and most important fantastic dj sets by the likes of Adam Ellis (NL debut), Airwave, Angry Man, Arctic Moon, Eddie Bitar (NL debut), Giussepe Ottaviani, Lange, Rex Mundi, Simon O’Shine and Will Atkinson.

On the main room the legend and pioneer of trance music Laurent Veronezz aka Airwave from Belgium delivered one of his finest dj sets that included great classics from Bonzai Music but also many of his forthcoming tracks on his own label LCD recordings, on JOOF and Bonzai Progressive labels too. It's always big pleasure to watch Laurent performing behind the decks and is of course biggest pleasure to listen, dance and trip out with his exquisite blend of  awesome cherished trance classics with future favourites. I'm glad he accepted to do this video interview that you can watch right now as it was a dream come true for me.

Airwave after some years of silence tell us that he is back in full effect and full force. We asked him about his dj set at Luminosity and his opinion for the Luminosity Events. He tell us about the tracks that will be released soon on various labels and he explains the various styles he produces at the moment including breaks, progressive house, psy trance and his more classic trance sound from the past. He reveals that his alter egos Lolo and Green Martian that we adored in the past with some eternal classics are coming back with new tracks alongside his  Airwave productions. He tell us his opinion for Tomorrowland festival and how the success of it had an effect in the club and festival scene in Belgium. We ask him if believes in the strength and growth of the underground trance scene. Laurent has always honest and very strong views and he loves  to share them in his social media with his fans and in this must watch interview too. Enjoy.
