This summer, Glitterbox heads to Boom in Belgium to be part of one of Europe’s biggest larger-than-life festival experiences. 

On Saturday July 21st the Glitterbox phenomenon will take over Tomorrowland’s Cage arena, bringing the usual crew of flamboyant performers along with house music heavyweights Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Purple Disco Machine, The Shapeshifters, Simon Dunmore, FCL & Lady Linn and Tomorrowland resident Sheridan. 

Making its debut at the festival, Glitterbox’s Tomorrowland line-up represents the international party’s distinctive musical ethos, combining classic, soulful and vocal house with contemporary disco and uplifting club rarities for a soundtrack that builds pure dancefloor hedonism. 

House music don Roger Sanchez has long been a Glitterbox favourite, matching his unstoppable energy behind the decks with consistently flawless tune selection. Joining him is another Glitterbox favourite, American DJ/producer Todd Terry, whose masterful mixing and high-energy curveball tunes never disappoint. One of the finest nu-disco producers of the moment Purple Disco Machine will be lending his soul and funk-infused sound to the stage while The Shapeshifters follow up incredible releases on Glitterbox Recordings with an appearance, alongside Glitterbox founder Simon Dunmore. Best known for their collaboration on Defected release ‘It’s You’, Belgian natives FCL and singer Lady Linn complete the stellar line-up with local DJ Sheridan warming things up at the Cage. 

Glitterbox generates an inclusive, uplifting party atmosphere designed to unite all on the dancefloor. Glitterbox events are immersive and full of unforgettable moments, using the most spectacular production, dancers and soundtrack to create a truly 21st century disco. 

Over the last twelve months the Glitterbox phenomenon has grown exponentially, touring the world, and becoming one of London’s most in-demand events, selling out shows months in advance. Meanwhile, the weekly Glitterbox Radio Show continuously occupies iTunes #1 spot for music podcasts and Glitterbox Recordings has released the hottest new music from the likes of Debbie Jacobs, Folamour, Aeroplane, Dr Packer, Ralphi Rosario, Mousse T. and The Shapeshifters. Glitterbox have announced a Roller Disco and two outstanding culinary additions to their special day and night party at Ministry of Sound on August Bank Holiday (with the daytime part in Ministry’s famous Courtyard space). 

Opening at 4pm on 28th August in the Courtyard, the party features Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, Simon Dunmore, Severino, Purple Disco Machine, Eli Escobar, Dr Packer, Get Down Edits, and For The Love Of House, plus performances from dance crew, Hot Heels. The Roller Disco will take place in the club’s legendary Box from 5pm to 8pm.

Outside in the club’s Courtyard space, Sushi Surprise and Burger Bear will be serving food from 4pm to 9pm, providing ample fuel to ensure the Glitterbox faithful can arrive early and carry on through from dusk until dawn. Sushi Surprise, a favourite of the Glitterbox and Defected crew, is one of the hottest sushi outfits in London, for more info please see www.sushisurprise.co.uk. Burger Bear are one the capital’s carnivorous success stories, with several outlets in London and a well-known addition to festivals including We Are FSTVL (www.burgerbearuk.com).

Glitterbox’s event at Ministry of Sound in May, where Basement Jaxx and The Shapeshifters capped an incredibly memorable night in the legendary Box, was a defining moment in the party’s history and the perfect start for their 2016 summer season.

Glitterbox began their 2016 season at Space, Ibiza in spectacular style on Friday 3 June. Since then, every Friday night has broken previous records with tens of thousands dancing to the likes of Basement Jaxx, Roger Sanchez, Dimitri From Paris, and many more, so far this season. There are now only 10 parties left to experience the best Friday night on the island, and the final chances ever to enjoy an event which captures the original spirit of Space Ibiza before the venues closes for good in October.

On August's second weekend, Glitterbox will then travel to Croatia for the first time, curating a night at the inaugural, 5 day long Defected Croatia Festival in Tisno, Dalmatia. On 23 September, Glitterbox caps its biggest summer to date with the 2016 closing party at Space, Ibiza, featuring Todd Terry, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, and Purple Disco Machine.

Glitterbox has announced a special day and night party at Ministry of Sound on August Bank Holiday (with an outdoor daytime BBQ in Ministry’s courtyard space). Opening at 4pm on 28th August, the party features Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, Simon Dunmore, Severino, Purple Disco Machine, Eli Escobar, Dr Packer, Get Down Edits, and For The Love Of House, plus performances from dance crew, Hot Heels.

Fresh from their May Bank Holiday VIP arena at We Are FSTVL, Glitterbox began their 2016 season at Space, Ibiza in spectacular style on Friday 3 June. The first of 17 parties to grace the legendary venue’s Terrace during its final year saw DJ sets from Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope, Todd Terry, Simon Dunmore, and DJ Pippi, with a live performance from the first lady of house, Barbara Tucker.

At the start of July, Glitterbox holds its second UK club date of the year, this time in Bristol (further details will be announced soon). After two successful season long stints in Ibiza in 2014 and 2015, not to mention some very special appearances at clubs like Ministry of Sound, Glitterbox is about to embark on its most ambitious – and busiest – year to date. 

The summer series of events begins on 7th May at Ministry of Sound with Basement Jaxx, The Shapeshifters, Aeroplane, and John Morales. This party will launch the Glitterbox Ibiza 2016 album, selected and mixed by Defected Records head and Glitterbox resident Simon Dunmore. Simon's depth of knowledge, attained over three decades of collecting soul, disco and house music, helps shapes Glitterbox's soundtrack and is showcased perfectly on the compilation. 

On 28th May, Glitterbox will present its own programmed arena at We Are FSTVL with DJs Todd Terry, Joey Negro, Roger Sanchez, Norman Jay and Simon Dunmore, plus vocalist Barbara Tucker (whose mesmerising performance at Space, Ibiza last summer was one of the season highlights).

At the start of June, Glitterbox begins its third year in Ibiza and is extremely proud to have been chosen by Space to host Friday nights on the legendary Terrace for the club's final season. For 17 weeks regular Glitterbox contributors Basement Jaxx, Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, Roger Sanchez and Simon Dunmore take control of the DJ booth in one of the best clubbing spaces in the world. Glitterbox’s uninhibited, vibe setting dance crews will also be returning to the Terrace every Friday, as will one of Ibiza's most enthusiastic and most diverse club audiences.

Following the news that Ibiza’s favourite new party Glitterbox will return to Space Ibiza this year, we can now reveal full season line-ups for the Friday residency from 03 June to Friday 23 September 2016.

It’s not often a party is as universally loved as Glitterbox, but from Resident Advisor to Marie Claire, Ibiza’s now firmly established house and disco party has acquired a prized status amongst European clubbers.

At its heart, Glitterbox embodies the idea that the dancefloor should be the focus of a truly transformative night: something of a rarity in the DJ-idolising culture of the modern club. Every Friday throughout last season, Space was transformed into a glittering, hedonistic playground, with extravagant live shows and the finest, most eclectic soundtrack found anywhere on the island truly setting the party apart, complimented by regular appearances by stand-out PAs and local DJs. 

The full list of artists now confirmed for the 2016 season is an exhaustive roll call of quality house and disco DJs, comprising Basement Jaxx (DJ set), Kenny Dope, Dimitri From Paris, Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Joey Negro, Simon Dunmore, Purple Disco Machine, The Shapeshifters, John Morales, Nightmares on Wax, Norman Jay, DJ Spen, Horse Meat Disco, Crazy P (DJ set), David Morales and Heller & Farley. 

Line-ups for Space’s El Salon – including island residents DJ Pippi, DJ Antz and Mo’funk – along with further DJs and live PAs will be announced over the coming weeks.

DJs that have real heritage, can read a crowd and know when to drop the right record deserve a platform on the island. The Terrace is a perfect venue for Glitterbox, so the decision to stay there for a second season was an easy one.  To be involved in Space’s final Ibiza season is a privilege, and we intended to make it the go-to night on Fridays throughout the summer.”

After 27 definitive years in Ibiza, Space will be closing its doors for good after the upcoming season. During that time Space has established itself as one of the world’s greatest clubs, and leaves a legacy in dance music that cannot be overstated.

True to form, Glitterbox at Space Ibiza is already one of the most talked about events of the forthcoming Ibiza season. The weekly Friday party opens its doors on 12th June, running for 16 weeks until the closing party on 25th September. Full weekly line-ups for Glitterbox can now be revealed (page 3), featuring some of the world’s finest DJs and live acts.

The international hit list of DJs and performers, playing the most beautiful and best-loved sounds across the full hemisphere of house and disco, include Hercules & Love Affair, Todd Terje, Julio Bashmore and Fatboy Slim who’ll appear together with a host of Glitterbox residents Joey Negro, Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco and Simon Dunmore. An extended cast that includes Louie Vega,Tensnake, Breakbot, Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Aeroplane, Juan MacLean, The Revenge, David Morales, Kings Of Tomorrow, Claudio Coccoluto, Norman Jay, John Morales, FCL, Tim Deluxe, Lovebirds, DJ Pippi, Smokin’ Jo, Heller & Farley, Mousse T, The Shapeshifters, Luke Solomon, Purple Disco Machine, Copyright, DJ Antz, Mr Doris and Mo’ Funk, will all make guest appearances over the season.

As shown by the partnership with Space Ibiza (the island’s most iconic club with an unparalleled musical history), creative collaboration - and fun – is at Glitterbox’s heart. Overseen by Glitterbox Creative Director, Mark Herman, this year brings new creative elements to the event including the artist, TradeMark, who designed the season’s artwork, whilst masterminding the performance side, club collective “Savage” will consist of three different dance crews (Sink The Pink, Hot Heels & Nutbags) who will all bring their own unique energy to the night.

TradeMark, aka UK artist, Mark Wardel, is the renowned painter whose figurative work explores the interface between art, commerce, and desire. After finishing art school, he became known as the “court painter” of the Blitz and other London café society hang outs, producing portraits of Boy George, Steve Strange, and Japan’s David Sylvian. Wardel’s artworks are in the collections of Kanye West and Naomi Campbell, and his work has been featured in GQ Style, Dazed and Confused, iD, and beyond. In 2013, he produced a sell-out edition of 300 Bowie-silver Duke life mask sculptures for the V&A museum, as part of the David Bowie Is exhibition, of which Bowie himself purchased two. 

“Savage” is produced by East Creative Agency, the team behind some of London’s most outrageous club nights and events – including Sink The Pink and XOYO’s Gloria’s. They’ll be bringing their East London performers, choreographers, and costume designers to Glitterbox, bringing the finest dancers, drag queens and club kids together to celebrate fashion, decadence, self-expression and hedonism - all to the best soundtrack on the island. Jono Kitchens of Hot Heels will choreograph performances, with costumes designed by Jay Barry Matthews. 

Glitterbox’s opening party takes place on Friday 12 June, featuring Todd Terry, Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco, The Revenge and Simon Dunmore, joined by unique performers from dance crews hosted by “Savage”. Further details will be announced soon.

Glitterbox’s weekly soundtrack of expertly curated DJ sets of classic and contemporary house, disco and electronic music, drew a loyal following of locals, industry, club freaks, workers and fashion folk. As the buzz reached far beyond the Balearics, visiting international clubbers came in droves. By August, and then throughout September, Glitterbox was selling out on a weekly basis, culminating in a typically hedonistic, riotous closing party that brought back the original spirit of Ibiza. 

Staying true to its intentions, Glitterbox’s musical highlights were many. Hercules & Love Affair played two incredible live shows, India’s PA was mesmerising, while DJ sets from Kenny Dope, Horse Meat Disco, Todd Terry, Dimitri From Paris and Joey Negro all added to the Glitterbox Ibiza legend.

Released on 31 May, Defected presents Glitterbox Ibiza 2015 is a new mix album that represents the nights musical spirit. Compiled and mixed by Defected’s founder Simon Dunmore, the 3 mix set features some the biggest names in disco and house music including Chaka Khan, Ten City, Salsoul Orchestra, Rare Pleasure and Lana Del Rey.

Glitterbox, the most-talked about new Ibiza party in recent years, has announced a move to Space Ibiza to host the Terraza. The weekly Friday party will open on 12th June, and run for 16 weeks until 25th September.

As the island’s most iconic club, and with an unparalleled musical history, Space Ibiza is the perfect home for Glitterbox’s new adventure. This collaboration is a clear statement of intent and marks a fundamental change to Friday nights in Ibiza.

Joining the Glitterbox line-up this summer is an international hit list of DJs and performers, playing the most beautiful and best-loved sounds across the full hemisphere of house and disco.  Very special guests Fatboy Slim,  Hercules & Love Affair, Todd Terje, Groove Armada, and Julio Bashmore will appear together with a host of Glitterbox residents Joey Negro, Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco and Simon Dunmore and an extended cast that includes Tensnake, Breakbot, Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Aeroplane, Juan MacLean, The Revenge, David Morales, Kings Of Tomorrow, Claudio Coccoluto, Norman Jay, John Morales, FCL, Tim Deluxe, Lovebirds, DJ Pippi, Smokin’ Jo, Heller & Farley, Mousse T, The Shapeshifters, Luke Solomon, Purple Disco Machine, Copyright, DJ Antz, Mr Doris, Mo’ Funk and Shovell (Live On Percussion) who will all make guest appearances over the season, with more acts yet to be announced.


Todd Terry, Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco, The Revenge and Simon Dunmore play the Glitterbox Opening Party on Friday 12 June.

In 2014, Glitterbox arrived amid a sense of excitement sparked by on-island word of mouth and an understanding that Defected were setting out to create a different kind of party; one that combined a ‘music first’ policy with a sense of glamour – eschewing the flashy gimmicks and the homogenous thud that had become ubiquitous elsewhere.
