Music For Dreams returns to prominence with the eponymously titled album from Nordsø and Theill on Friday 29th September 2017 available on digital and vinyl.

The Music For Dreams label continues to be the flag bearer of Balearic, chill, space disco and the ambient revival with its output consisting of a slew of releases from artists such as Jan Schulte, Ruf Dug, Copenema, Apiento, Jose Manuel, The Swan & The Lake, Ambala, Oscar Bandersen, DJ Pippi, Visti & Meyland, and label boss Kenneth Bager’s own vinyl output.
Patrick from Piccadilly Records, Manchester, said ‘The pick of this week’s bunch. Nordsø and Theill is frankly sublime. A gorgeous fusion of jazz musicianship, Asiatic melodies and esoteric instrumentation, this LP rightly has Moonboots in a spin. A Balearic masterpiece and certain future classic!’
This album is a classic in the making - and is already getting strong support by Chris Coco, Phil Mison, One Million Sunsets, Pete Gooding, Balearic Mike and Manchester’s Moonboots - the former calling it ‘The Best record I have heard in the last 10 Years.’

Mikkel Nordsø and Ole Theill are no newcomers. They have both been influential key players in Copenhagen’s jazz scene as well as in international circuits, recording and performing with such greats as Santana, L. Subramaniam, Jan Akkerman and George Duke to name a few.

They have also played together on many different local projects through the years, including the much-revered Bombay Hotel trio featuring Kenneth Knudsen. On their first record in 1989, they bridged the gaps between jazz fusion, new age and traditional Asian folk music, crafting the sounds into ethereal expressions that still stand out.

On their new album for Music For Dreams, the duo delves further into that soundscape with an even deeper knowledge of their instruments. With Nordsø on the flute and guitar and Theill on various percussion instruments, they form a musical language together that reaches almost spiritual levels. While carefully blending electronic instrumentation to complete the experience, this album is both an update to their formula as well as a showcase for their talent & songwriting experience.

Guest vocalist Caroline Francesca steps in on the opener ‘Good Morning’ and the closer ‘Sun Fo Ni’ - the first being a sun-drowsy Brazilian-inspired jam, while ‘Sun Fo Ni’ leans further towards crisp English folk roots. The inclusion of Francesca comes so naturally, as she is the daughter of percussionist and long-time collaborator Jacob Andersen  - who also releases on Music For Dreams as Bongo Entp. - making this quite a family affair.

Named after a harbour town in Morocco, the track ‘Essaouira’ weaves field recordings of children playing in the sun together with brooding oriental folk and a discrete drum machine beat.

For ‘Japtal’ the flute takes centre stage, leading us on a serene journey that unfolds into improvised passages along a chugging heavy groove, escalating and releasing in tempo much like the breathing techniques of yoga.

‘Velvet Sky sees the duo at their most relaxed, letting it ride on feather light ambient chords and noodling out into a wigged out prog rock ballad. ‘B Phrygian’ takes us into ancient Anatolian territory, again showcasing the duos vibrant live instrumentation with Theill hurling an army's worth of percussion layers onto the dust beaten path laid out by Nordsø's stone-faced psychedelic assaults.

Music For Dreams is releasing Nordsø & Theill on Friday 29th September 2017 on digital and stream. A vinyl album release is also available.

The album is influenced by jazz, electronica, funk, MPB (post-bossa nova urban Brazilian music), flamenco and the new Nordic soul sound, with all the ingredients thrown into a melting pot to create a flow that sounds fresh and offers something new and familiar at the same time. The general feel is intentionally timeless.”

Music For Dreams is releasing ‘Clouds Over Østerbro’, the mesmerising new single from The Swan And The Lake on Friday 26th May, ahead of his forthcoming album release ‘Clouds’.

Following the success of his seasonal epic ‘Moments’ album, released last December, The Swan And The Lake aka Emil Svane Breum continues his journey through the beautifully hypnotic world of ambient music and chilled electronica with a little help from his sequencer and keyboards.

Already established within the chill scene, The Swan And The Lake produces timeless music that goes way beyond soundtracking a poolside session or beach bar. This is because Emil is a revered classical pianist and composer from Denmark, whose works capture the same spirit as the new age-minded artists of the Berlin School such as Klaus Schulze, Manuel Göttsching, and Vangelis, as well as new contemporary classical composers Michael Nyman, Constance Demby, Craig Armstrong, Arvo Pärt, Thomas Newman, Philip Glass, and Nils Frahm.

“Apart from being a spiritual movement, new age also spawned a musical ideology that lives on past the clutches of cults and communes: purity in sound, and a longing for music to reflect the sounds of nature. The music of appears to suspend time and prolong a sense of clarity, like staring out over a beautiful landscape at sunset.” Emil Svane Breum.

Copenhagen based Music For Dreams is proud to unleash ‘Arbete/Fritid’, the debut album of Sweden’s Prins Emanuel, on Friday 2nd September 2016.

The first full-length solo album from Prins Emanuel is a concept album revolving around the medium of the vinyl record itself. With a functionalist’s attitude, its two sides can serve two different purposes. Translated from Swedish, the album title reads ‘Work/Leisure Time’: which are the moods the two discs/sides reflect. As Prins explains, ‘so early on a Friday evening, you might tell your girl or boy to put on the A/B -side, as you're getting ready to throw some shapes that night. And on Sunday evening, you tell him/her to put on the C/D-side as you're tapping up a bath’.

Although this is a multi-instrumentalist’s vision, the fact that the Prins is mainly a drummer is evident in the masterfully hypnotic grooves that form the foundations on which the whole album stands on. And while elements of dub, boogie, afro, house and new age flicker by as we ride along on these driving rhythms, the balance between warmth and repetition is always a tickling tension. For fans of the young Swede’s former output with the Fasaan/Chalice label (especially his collaborations with label mate Golden Ivy), this will surely not disappoint.

Prins Emanuel
When Malmö resident Prins Emanuel is not DJing or helping run the online record store Wildlife Records, he’s in the studio making music or co-running the labels Fasaan Recordings and Chalice. As an offshoot of Wildlife Records he started Wildlife Radio, an online platform for mixes that are categorized under two headers, Globetrotters for guest mixes by an eclectic range of international music aficionado’s and Locals Only which showcases the creativity of local record collectors and DJs.

Album tracklist:
1. Prins Emanuel - Globen
2. Prins Emanuel - Wirklicheit
3. Prins Emanuel - Exkursion
4. Prins Emanuel - Bike Chase
5. Prins Emanuel - Lands Of Joy
6. Prins Emanuel - Su Su
7. Prins Emanuel - Oran
8. Prins Emanuel - Aquarius
9. Prins Emanuel - Lejonkulan
10. Prins Emanuel - Seaside View

Prins Emanuel ‘Arbete/Fritid’ is released by Music For Dreams on vinyl, digital and stream on Friday 2nd September 2016.

Popular Balearic label Music For Dreams has announced a series of parties at Las Dalias hippy market in Ibiza this summer. The first event, on Thursday 28th July, features a live concert by The Brand New Heavies, pioneers of the acid jazz scene in London in the eighties and nineties.

The Brand New Heavies translated their love for 70s funk into a sophisticated sound and became the global torchbearers of classic soul in an era dominated by hip-hop and house. Originally an instrumental group playing rare groove, they acquired a great reputation on the London club scene and signed with Cooltempo at the time when the acid house began to replace the rare groove sound in the city’s dancehalls.

Group members Jan Kincaid, N'Dea Davenport, Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Levy chose the name Brand New Heavies after signing their first record contract, drawing on the cover of a single of James Brown, where it was written: Minister of New Super Heavy Funk’. They will be performing a full live set including their hits, ‘Dream On Dreamer’, ‘Never Stop’, ‘Stay This Way’ and ‘Midnight At The Oasis’, all of which were hugely popular in Ibiza at the time.

Music for Dreams, the Balearic music label based in Copenhagen has joined forces with Vaughan from Pacha’s Funky Room and Babylon Beach to create a trio of parties where the original Balearic spirit of Ibiza returns to the island with a club event and a musical policy where anything goes as long as it’s quality, funky and hips move. A place without big electronic music breakdowns; a place for people to dance, laugh, and enjoy the true spirit of Ibiza and have a fabulous time, rather than staring into their phones.

Original Ibiza DJ, Pippi who just released his beautiful debut album on Music for Dreams called ‘Bocadillos Variados’ will create an exciting journey full of funky and Balearic grooves.

Promoter and DJ Kenneth Bager has also released a new album ‘Premiere Classe’ featuring singles ‘Sunshine’ with Damon C. Scott (Storm Queen) and ‘What’s My Name’ featuring Danish actor Sophe Gråbøl, star of cult television series "The Killing". Kenneth is also known for his nine years as a DJ on Ibiza Sonica Radio.

The line up of DJs is completed by Willie Graff (Pacha/Funky Room), Scott Gray (Melon Bomb), George Solar (Babylon Beach) and Jack Anderson (Babylon Beach).

Home of Ibiza’s legendary hippy market, Las Dalias has been on the scene since 1954. The iconic venue is located on the main road between Santa Eulalia and San Carlos and is one of the main congregating points for Bohemian Ibiza.

Entrance is €20 euros in advance or 25 euros on the door.

AOwA is the new emerging Danish duo that was born out of the  musical companionship between the two long time friends – Nicolai Kornerup and Hannah Schneider.Their incredible track Sommer is relaxing, smooth, captivating but very mesmerising as well so you will feel carried away from it. The interesting thing is that despite being in Danish the track sounds incredible and the artistic music video reflect the zest of the band to make its mark in the world of electronic music and the incredible depth of the production adds to the truly cinematic anti-summer hit. #PureGold

Music For Dreams is releasing a mesmerising new album from Bongo Entp. entitled ‘Debut’ on Friday 27th May 2016. Featuring the label’s Balearic and eclectic vision, Bongo Entp. deliver a chilled summer release to inspire picnics in the park and poolside chilling.

Written and recorded in artist Jacob Andersen’s house in Granada, Andalucía, the fundamental idea behind Bongo Entp. is for Jacob to compose new music, where the rhythmic and percussive elements are the dominating forces. A lot of the tracks feature the creative juxtaposition of machine tight elements and free percussive grooves.

Jacob began playing congas aged 16 with Cristian Sivert and played on the burgeoning latin scene in Denmark in the mid 70s. He then stared the group Sneakers, which became one of the greatest Danish bands in the 80s. In 1984 Jacob, Rasmus Kærså and Jørgen Klubien started the group Danseorkesteret, writing some of the greatest dance hits in Danish history. Today he plays in The Antonelli Orchestra and produces artists and is one of the most popular session musicians in Denmark.

”The first single from the album ‘Foto Feita Do Avia~O’, is like the title implies, a sort of aerial view of Rio De Janeiro, which I have visited a lot in the last year. Where poverty and wealth live next door to each other and where the city and jungle melt into each other. I've played most of the instruments myself and then given the tracks to Steen Rasmussen who recorded additional keyboards and has become a major and indispensable part of the whole project. It is Steen and I singing the main theme, it's supposed to sound like when you sit and sing and compose, or when one gets a turn” says Jacob.

‘The freedom to record at home in Andalucía allows me to experience new corners of myself, which I haven’t had the chance to experience with the other bands and projects I’ve worked on. It’s great to record in a place, where it feels natural to think differently and where you’ve got time for contemplation'.

Copenhagen’ s Music For Dreams label continues the flow of great releases with another tasteful 12-inch release from label boss Kenneth Bager. The anthemic single, ‘Sunshine Stereo’, is currently on heavy rotation on Denmark’s national radio station, P3.

The Kenneth Bager Experience ‘Sunshine Stereo’ EP is available as a 4 track remix EP and 7 track digital release on Friday 22nd April 2016. The song ‘Sunshine Stereo’ is taken from the forthcoming album ‘premiere Classé’.

Denmark’s Jazzbox delivers an up-tempo beach boogie anthem full of soul and groove and lots of vocal loops - featuring the unmistakable voice of Damon Scott - known for his work with Storm Queen. The Greek duo Bonnie & Klein are on a roll at the moment and their remix is a special percussive jazzy dub mix with marimba vibes bringing the sound of the Mediterranean with love. A real winner here is the Dub mix of ‘Sunshine Stereo’ by Kenneth Bager on remix duties with Napoli born producer extraordinaire Tuccinelli. Together they have made a future classic for both the Balearic brigade and for all people loving funky, down-tempo, dubbed out weirdness. The Dub mix is full of tricks. Teasing and pleasing the dancefloor with nice build ups, the Dub has accents of the fabulous Frankie Knuckles "Hallucinogenic mix" of "Ain't Nobody" by Chaka Kahn and the mix has all ready been getting support from Manchester’s Moonboots, Leo Mas and Danish DJ Peter Visti. The 12-inch also features the extended Vocal mix by Kenneth Bager and Tuccinelli completing the selection full of sparkling sunshine versions. A real spring warmer that feels like a knitted sweater on cold evenings.

Vinyl is limited to a pressing of 300 copies.

The Kenneth Bager Experience’s ‘Sunshine Stereo’ is released by Music For Dreams on vinyl, digital and stream on Friday 22nd April 2015.

Featuring tracks by Gianni Bella, Moana Pozzi, Ivano Fossati & Oscar Prudente, La Bellini, Aktuala, and more.

Leo Mas, the original Balearic DJ from Amnesia Ibiza, has compiled an album for Music For Dreams, the label spearheading the new movement of Balearic music and electronica.

‘Leo Mas Presents Meditteraneo – Rare Balearica Volume 1’ features rare Balearic beats from the 70s and 80s and is released on Friday 25th March 2016 on digital download and 3 vinyl EPs.

Leo Mas was a protagonist of the club scene phenomenon that was born in Ibiza. The legendary Italian-born Ibiza DJ and sublime record collector earned his reputation spinning alongside Alfredo in the mid-to-late 80s in seminal club Amnesia. They created a sound which influenced clubland worldwide with the advent of house, acid house and Balearic music, and their contribution still resonates massively today on the island and beyond.

The album brings together some of Leo’s favourite obscurities and rare beauties from the 70s and 80s - tracks that shaped him as a DJ and also still feature in his sets. Leo is renowned for his excellent musical taste in all things special and unique.

Highlighted tracks include an elegant disco symphony called ‘Dolce Luna (Parte 1a)’ made in 1978 by Gianni Bella - the brother of singer Marcella Bella – and is a modern classic and secret weapon of Manchester’s DJ Moonboots. Also included is ‘L'Ultima Notte’ by writer, model, porn actress and politician Moana Pozzi. The rare, quality funk track from 1989 pays homage to the class and intelligence of Moana Pozzi, who died aged just 33 in mysterious circumstances. ‘Gil (Voglia Di Terra)’ by Ivano Fossati & Oscar Prudente is an exquisitely beautiful spacey track that the very young teenager Leo Mas used to listen to in 1978.

‘Satan In Love’ by La Bellini, was only released on 7" single in 1978. It is a very rare record and a piece of slamming italo disco funk and included here are both the original and an updated version by Leo Mas and musical partner Fabrice. Another beauty is the Loredana Bertè track called "Number One", from her American 1981 album called ‘Made In Italy’. The album was recorded for Platinum Hook, a gorgeous album, especially the second side, but unfortunately didn't have the success it deserved. Also featured is ‘Dejanira’ from the 1973 debut album by Aktuala, a band from Milan, on the cult label Bla Bla. Leo says "I listened to this track when I was a teenager because I followed the alternative scene in Italy." ‘Dejanira’ is a beautiful piece of tribal music with African and eastern influences from a time when the term ‘world music’ was non- existent, making Aktuala true pioneers.

Also featured on the album is ‘U (I Dig You)’ by Chrisma, a cover of ‘Who’ by Odyssey, a project from 1974 that saw Vangelis collaborate with Richelle Dassin and Robert Fitoussi and which only ever came out on 7". It was covered twice in 1977, once by Chrisma and also by Demis Roussous. Chrisma's cover was produced by Niko Papathanassiou, Vangelis' brother, and Leo Mas says “I’ve chosen the Extended version, found on the A side of the original 12", a sexy and nocturnal funk disco gem that I love. Next is ‘Clouds Over Thin Paper’ by Faust'O from his album ‘Love Story’ that came out in 1985. “Faust'O is a great borderline artist, original and innovative, a true rebel. His first productions from the late Seventies have a sound between Berlin Bowie, Joy Division and the first dark new wave.” Another highlight is ‘Blue Light’ by Giorgio Li Calzi ft. Marconi Union. Calzi collaborated with artists like Wolfgang Flür from Kraftwerk, Alexandre Balanescu and for this track he worked with Marconi Union from Manchester. A true of the minimal English ambient sound, Marconi also worked with Jah Wobble. ‘Blue Light’ is an emotional track with a dreamy atmosphere that I loved on first listen, simply beautiful. With my partner Fabrice we did a version of ‘Blue Light’, the Androids Dream Remix. We chose this title because while working on it memories of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner came into our minds!”

The vinyl versions are limited to 250 pressings each.

The album is released on Music For Dreams on CD and digital on Friday 25th March.

Music For Dreams rounds off an exciting year for the label, with the reissue of the classic Balearic album with bonus tracks from the legendary Cafe Del Mar DJ, Phil Mison PKA Cantoma on Friday 18th December.

Following the release of the vinyl version in November, Music For Dreams is rereleasing the ‘Cantoma’ (Deluxe Edition)’ album on CD and digital download. The album is produced by Phil Mison, one of the UK’s most notorious cratediggers and music collectors. Phil has been one of the key players in the chill out scene and is in more demand than ever, playing festivals all over Europe as well as smaller intimate clubs with standout gigs this year including DJ Harvey’s birthday bash at Pikes in Ibiza and playing alongside NYC legend Justin Strauss.

The album was originally released in 2003 and quickly become a modern chill out classic selling 15.000 albums with support from Ross Allen, Idjut Boys, Moonboots, and DJ Harvey. Tracks from the album have also been featured on more than 150 compilations. The album includes all the original material that has become modern balearic, chill and lounge classics including the dubbed flamenco track ‘Pandajero‘, the Indian vibes of ‘The Call’, ‘Rain’ showcasing Phil’s fantastic guitar playing over timeless electronic beats, the beautiful “Essarai”, the dubby Compass Point like “Overtime” and the Mediterranean moods of “Etolie.

This release also contains bonus tracks that were recorded during the original sessions of the album and were only used on special limited edition Japanese releases and compilations. These include the summery ‘Bill Morgan On The Organ’, the atmospheric ‘Trussevich’ and the accordion based “Katja”. Whilst digging in the archives at Music For Dreams headquarters, the label discovered another great find, the unreleased gem “Mondo Christy” - an uptempo rhythm strong Joe Claussell like stomper featuring a beautiful violin blended with acoustic guitars. The album also features the sought after Banzai Republic Remix of ‘The Call’, a track DJ Harvey included on his legendary San Diego Mixes from 2004. A special bonus is the brand new and excellent Ruf Dug remix of “Pandajero” the most popular and compiled track of the album. Manchester’s Ruf Dug, whose recent album release ‘Island’ made substantial waves on the electronica scene, slows down the original and adds his magnificent Compass Point style production - turning it into a sunset tune with added Wally Badarou style keys. The vinyl version is limited to 300 copies. No repress.

Cantoma ‘Cantoma’ (Deluxe Edition) is released on Friday 18th of December on Music For Dreams.

Copenhagen’s Music For Dreams, the label run by esteemed techno and electronica DJ, Kenneth Bager, is releasing an infectious new artist album from Emil Germ entitled ‘Adult Party’ on Tuesday 26th May 2015 on download and stream.

A sensitive artist overflowing with creativity and personality, 25-year old Emil Germod is a sound designer, producer and musician from Denmark. His style has been described as a mix between Arthur Russell (Dinosaur L) and Royksopp meets Vini Reilly (The Durutti Coumn) but stands firmly on his own two feet, combining falsetto vocals, beautiful guitar playing and powerful keyboards with slow disco grooves: "I just play and do what feels natural" says Emil Germ.

This album ‘Adult Party’ features 10 tracks including the first single ‘Tease and Burn’ which has already gained international recognition, featuring on the playlist of 33 international radio stations and getting support from the likes of Yam Who, Ame, French Riviera, DJ Nori and more.

A characteristic of Emil Germ’s music is his eclectic mix of his very own deep and high-pitched falsetto voice, guest singers, and space disco grooves. He insists ‘I can take the quirkiest ingredients and make them sound inclusive, even a midi slap bass or the use of guitar hero solos’.

Emil first committed his production sensibilities to minimal techno and then later on punk/rock, but with the Emil Germ project he has found his place in a more pop and disco-orientated expression, where the key goal is to make catchy music with substance. The Adult Party 12" sampler has been well received including the track ‘Give’, which is another quality slice of slow disco with pop sensibilities - a very catchy groove and an irresistible melody line that will creep under your skin and stay there for months.

The Music For Dreams label specialises in chilled electronica, Balearic beats, space disco and house grooves and is set to release a diverse range of artist albums Ruf Dug, Troels Hammer, Jacob Gurevitsch and more.
