Dutch electronic music powerhouse KI/KI has been named Spotify’s ‘Women of Electronic’ Global EQUAL Ambassador program for April 2025, cementing her place as a pioneering force in the scene. The EQUAL program spotlights groundbreaking female artists worldwide, amplifying their voices and contributions to music.

This honor comes amid major momentum for KI/KI, who has recently made significant strides with her self-founded label Slash, resulting in multiple successful releases, including the club hit ‘Don’t You Want Me’ and ‘Getting Ready For The Party’ with Storm Mollison, which climbed to #3 on Beatport’s Trance chart. Elsewhere, she landed her debut DJ Mag cover, and maintained a packed touring schedule–including a headline tour in Australia—further solidifying her undeniable impact on the electronic music landscape.

As part of her ambassadorship, KI/KI will be featured on Spotify’s EQUAL playlists and highlighted across additional off-platform support including a dedicated billboard in Times Square, NYC later in the month.

About KI/KI

From Amsterdam’s fertile underground to techno temples around the world, KI/KI is at the forefront of a new rave insurrection.

Shaped by the time-tried fundamentals of trance, acid and techno, she subtly constructs her own signature: a sound realm that’s fast but dreamlike, futuristic but nostalgic, severe but – at all times – euphoric.

Starting out as a resident DJ at queer stronghold Spielraum back in 2018, KI/KI has rapidly evolved into a nightlife bastion of her own. In the past years she’s made a mark with unforgettable all-nighters, curating her own ‘KI/KI invites’ series, upsurging Boiler Room views, and causing dancefloor frenzy from Säule to Bassiani to ∄.

As an artist, collaboration and community are essential to KI/KI’s craft. While festival stages and warehouses have become her second home, her heart still beats the loudest for the dark and intimate fringes of nightlife. Beyond music, this artistry bleeds into all forms of collaboration; resulting in, among others, her ‘not for sleeping’ project with Amsterdam fashion collective The New Originals.

These latest confirmations introduce a hands-on approach to the ADE Pro experience with insightful strategies to empower growth and success.

Essential Insider Knowledge

Following the recent announcement outlining its first major topics and the Strategies, Opportunities and Responsibilities framework at this year’s conference, ADE Pro now introduces the Essential Insider Knowledge series as a core part of its Strategies track.

The series of keynotes and talks will feature the likes of TikTok's Global Head of Music, Ole Obermann, to share valuable insights and strategies on the global platform. Attendees will also gain a comprehensive understanding of music business and growing communities on YouTube with leading figures such as YouTube’s Head of Music Business Development Mathieu Rousselot and STMPD RCRDS’ Coen Calkhoven. Meanwhile, top-level leaders at Spotify are set to demystify the platform's vast opportunities and provide hands-on tools to empower artists and music professionals alike.

In addition, professionals can also delve into the realms of electronic music distribution and production with Beatport's Senior Vice President of Creator Services, Helen Sartory, who will share her insights on the platform’s role in amplifying music for both producers and DJs. Furthermore, Andreea Gleeson, CEO of TuneCore, will discuss the interplay between music creation and AI in the platform’s future. Under Gleeson's leadership, TuneCore has earned accolades such as Fast Company's third most innovative music company, and this keynote delves into the platform’s innovative approach to music creation and distribution

As an artists or music professional, growing your business likely involves optimising your use of often cryptic yet hugely impactful platforms. Making music is just the start — demystifying the algorithms, formulas, and strategies to push careers forward can make a great difference. ADE Pro invites you to master your success and business in the ever-evolving digital music space with the new Essential Insider Knowledge sessions:

  • TikTok: Global Head of Music Keynote
This keynote sheds light on the latest trends, tools, and techniques to help you thrive in the digital space and grow in sustainable ways. TikTok's Global Head of Music, Ole Obermann, joins ADE Pro for a keynote speech. Get to know the ways of the platform everybody wants to use, join, and unravel. TikTok offers artists and tracks the biggest potential to go viral, and pushes songs with their Sounds and Trend Discovery tools. Obermann will be joined by a mystery guest from the artist perspective to explain the app from the inside out, where just as much happens as we see on the user side of the extremely popular video app.
  • Mastering Growth on YouTube & YouTube Music
YouTube remains the biggest streaming platform in the world, where the opportunities to build a community and keep people engaged are endless. Besides uploading content, finding ways to engage audiences can be a challenge to navigate. Leading figures in video streaming team up to share their tricks of the trade: Head of Music Business Development & Partnerships EMEA at YouTube Music Mathieu Rousselot and Marketing & YouTube Manager of STMPD RCRDS Coen Calkhoven join this session. They offer you a comprehensive guide to help you understand the ever-evolving landscape of streaming and content.

  • Building for Success on Spotify

  • Using Beatport to Amplify Your Music
Beatport is one of the most important sources for DJs and producers. On the one hand, artists use the platform as an online crate-digging tool; on the other, they use it to have their music downloaded to other artists' USBs. But how do you come out on top in a situation where a sea of DJs is an understatement? And how do you distinguish yourself and your music for other users? Senior Vice President of Creator Services Helen Sartory stars in the Essential Insider Knowledge: Beatport session. Besides Sartory, another speaker from the user end of Beatport joins this keynote, so stay tuned for more announcements.
  • TuneCore CEO Keynote: Creating Music in the AI Era

TuneCore is one of the leading platforms to give (independent) artists the tools for growth in their careers, following, and distributing. Their development platform for self-releasing artists distributes your music to over 150 digital music stores and streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Andreea Gleeson is the Chief Executive Officer of TuneCore and a leading innovator in the music industry. Under her guidance as CEO, TuneCore was recently named the third most innovative company in the music industry by Fast Company. She takes this knowledge to ADE, where she dives into the question on everybody's mind: how can AI help music professionals? Consent, control, and transparency are at the core of TuneCore, so expect the conversation to be opened.

Many thanks for listening this week's radio show!

13:02:00
World-famous Dutch DJ and producer Armin van Buuren just broke the one million mark for Spotify followers. Armin van Buuren is the first and only Dutch artist to reach this milestone, and this accomplishment makes Armin one of the top 50 most followed Spotify artists in the entire world, in any genre. There are only a small handful of EDM artists in the one-million-plus league, and Armin is one of the top 5 most followed DJs globally.

Armin: "Wow! 1,000,000 followers on Spotify. I would like to thank all my fans for following my personal Spotify playlists and the ASOT playlist. My label Armada Music and I believe streaming is the future and are committed to a long-lasting partnership with the platform."

As the only DJ who currently uploads his weekly radio show (A State of Trance) to Spotify, Van Buuren has always had a special relationship with the platform. Other popular Armin playlists include ‘The Armin van Buuren Top 50’ and ‘Who’s Afraid of 138?!’. He will also be adding special new celebratory Spotify playlists and content in recognition of this landmark.

Will Hope, Director of label relations, EU at Spotify: “Armin and Armada have always embraced Spotify as both a promotional and commercial platform. They have worked hard to find and develop their fan base on Spotify and have used innovative releases to develop the artist-fan relationship. Armin's popular weekly radio show A State Of Trance has been a big part of this. Many congratulations on reaching 1M followers!”

As a thank you to the fans who made it happen, Armin will be giving away a Philips M1X-DJ console, 25 Algoriddim Djay 2 apps, and 25 premium Spotify subscriptions to a lucky few of his followers. To enter the contest, go to www.arminvanbuuren.com or Spotify and follow Armin’s Spotify profile. The winners will be selected at random and the winner of the M1X-DJ will be announced on the A State of Trance radioshow on July 24th. The remaining winners will receive a personal message via Spotify on July 24th, 2014.
