[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]LUSU X Signum feat. Scott Mac’s remix of “Coming On Strong” is a masterclass in modern trance production, delivering a thrilling experience that excels across all technical and artistic dimensions. The track immediately engages with its impeccable rhythm, groove, and drive, propelled by a 137 BPM foundation that strikes the perfect balance between kinetic energy and fluid motion. The basslines are raw and commanding, locking in with thumping percussion patterns that create an irresistible forward momentum, while the groove remains organic and highly danceable for both club and festival environments. The melodic structure and harmonic layers elevate the remix into a euphoric journey, with rich synth pads and arpeggiated motifs woven seamlessly around the classic vocal. These hooks are both instantly memorable and harmonically satisfying, giving the track a dynamic emotional palette that resonates deeply with listeners. Transitions, drops, and build-ups are executed with surgical precision, ensuring that every shift in energy feels earned and exhilarating. The breakdown is a particularly striking moment, where the iconic vocal is isolated and treated with spatial effects that enhance its emotional impact before the track surges into a distorted, warped synth hook leading to a cathartic climax. From a production standpoint, the sound design and overall quality are exemplary, showcasing LUSU’s mastery of modern trance aesthetics. The dynamic range is carefully managed, offering clarity and punch without sacrificing warmth, while the stereo field is fully utilized through meticulous spatial design and the intelligent use of effects. This creates an immersive soundscape where each element—from the percussive accents to the atmospheric layers—feels intentional and emotionally resonant. The arrangement retains originality, paying homage to the spirit of the original track while introducing futuristic textures and a distinctive artistic identity that makes it stand out among contemporary reworks. The vocal performance is integrated with finesse, maintaining lyrical impact and enhancing the track’s emotional resonance. Its placement within the mix ensures catchiness and high replay value, while the intro and outro structures are crafted for seamless integration into DJ sets, supporting BPM consistency, sync ease, and versatile cue points. This attention to detail makes the track highly adaptable for live performance, maximizing crowd reaction potential and contributing to dynamic energy flow within any set. Beyond its technical excellence, “Coming On Strong” has notable positive applications for mental health, fitness, and wellness environments. Scientific research suggests that high-energy trance music can elevate mood, increase motivation, and enhance physical performance during exercise or group fitness classes (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). Additionally, euphoric electronic music has been linked to stress reduction and the release of endorphins, contributing to improved emotional well-being and social cohesion in communal settings (Thoma et al., 2013; Koelsch, 2014). The immersive soundscapes and consistent rhythmic drive of LUSU’s remix make it a strong candidate for enhancing both personal and group wellness experiences. In conclusion, LUSU X Signum’s “Coming On Strong” remix exemplifies the best of contemporary trance production—technically flawless, emotionally powerful, and artistically distinctive—while also delivering tangible benefits in fitness, wellness, and mental health contexts. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]RIVER & Signum’s “What Ya Got 4 Me” emerges as a euphoric, high-energy reinterpretation of the classic trance anthem, delivering a modern twist that fuses Dutch hard house inflections with a 148 BPM pulsating drive. The track opens with a propulsive organ bassline that immediately sets the rhythm, groove, and drive into motion, effortlessly pulling the listener into a kinetic flow state. Through carefully crafted melodic hooks and harmonic layers, the production achieves an infectious catchiness that heightens emotional resonance and provides a sense of musical storytelling without ever feeling forced. Each build-up and transition is executed with surgical precision, ensuring that drops land with maximum impact, sustaining energy flow and momentum from start to finish. The sound design and production quality are particularly noteworthy. RIVER’s use of spatial design, reverb, and subtle delay effects creates a three-dimensional sonic environment that immerses the listener fully, aligning perfectly with the track’s festival and club suitability. The dynamic range is well-balanced, maintaining loudness consistency while allowing the kick and bass to punch through the mix without sacrificing clarity in the soaring lead melodies. The vocal integration is seamless—when the timeless vocal refrain enters, it sits perfectly in the mix, carrying both lyrical impact and melodic reinforcement. This contributes to the track’s exceptional replay value, as the brain’s reward system responds positively to such familiar-yet-fresh melodic elements. From a performance and DJing perspective, the track’s BPM consistency and clean intro/outro structure make it extremely mix-friendly, offering numerous cue points and loop potential for live sets. Its arrangement demonstrates both creativity and cohesion, with a strong narrative arc that rises and falls in energy to keep audiences engaged. The carefully timed peaks and troughs allow for dynamic energy flow in a set, while the track’s crowd reaction potential is amplified by its irresistible singalong moments and jump-inducing drops. Beyond its technical and musical merits, “What Ya Got 4 Me” also offers significant benefits for mental health and wellness. Research has shown that high-tempo electronic dance music can stimulate endorphin release, increase heart rate, and enhance mood regulation (Thompson et al., 2001; Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). The euphoric melodies and driving rhythms can induce a state of flow, which has been linked to improved mental well-being and reduced symptoms of stress and anxiety (Csikszentmihalyi, 1990). In fitness and group exercise settings, tracks like this boost motivation, synchronize movement, and enhance perceived effort, making cardio and dance-based workouts feel more engaging (Edworthy & Waring, 2006). Moreover, the communal experience of singing and moving to high-energy music reinforces social bonding and positive emotional states, which are essential for promoting overall wellness. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] I. Jordan’s 2026 re-imagining of the trance classic “Coming On Strong” by Signum feat. Scott Mac is a masterclass in modern production while honoring the original’s iconic character. Operating at a brisk 138 BPM, this release is tailor-made for both peak-hour club sets and high-energy fitness sessions. The track opens with driving basslines and tightly compressed kick drums that immediately establish a sense of forward propulsion, supported by precision-engineered percussive layers that underpin the rhythmic foundation. From a production standpoint, Jordan’s meticulous sound design shines through in the punchy low end, crisp hi-hats, and wide stereo imaging. The synth lead, a reinterpretation of the original hook, is sculpted with layered oscillators and subtle saturation, giving it a nostalgic yet refreshingly modern timbre. Use of spatial effects—notably long-tail reverbs and ping-pong delays—creates an immersive soundstage, while automated filter sweeps and risers enhance the energy flow into each drop. The arrangement balances tension and release expertly, with build-ups featuring syncopated snare rolls and pitched risers that culminate in euphoric drops. The vocal treatment is particularly effective: Scott Mac’s iconic delivery is enhanced with reverb tails and sidechain compression to sit perfectly against the driving instrumental. Throughout, the track maintains dynamic range without succumbing to over-compression, making it both DJ-friendly and sonically engaging for casual listeners. Scientific research has shown that high-tempo electronic music—particularly in the 120–140 BPM range—can have positive effects on mood, energy levels, and even cognitive focus (Thompson et al., 2001; Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). This track’s uplifting harmonic layers and rhythmic consistency make it highly suitable for fitness and wellness classes, including spin sessions, high-intensity interval training, and dance-based workouts. The repetitive melodic motifs contribute to a meditative flow state, which aligns with studies linking trance music to stress reduction and enhanced mental well-being (Labbe et al., 2007). Listeners report that tracks like this can stimulate dopamine release due to anticipation of drops and harmonic resolution, while the summery Balearic tones evoke positive emotional responses associated with vacation-like imagery (Salimpoor et al., 2011). For wellness practitioners, incorporating this track into playlists fosters both physical motivation and emotional uplift. Conclusion: I. Jordan’s rendition of “Coming On Strong” succeeds as both an artistic homage and a cutting-edge production. Its technical sophistication, structural clarity, and emotionally resonant energy make it ideal for DJs, fitness enthusiasts, and listeners seeking mental refreshment alike. The track is #PureGold, reaffirming its potential as a trance anthem for the modern era. #PureGold Love it [/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Signum, a luminary in the trance music realm, showcases his masterful production techniques in the track "Believe," epitomizing the quintessential Balearic epic uplifting trance. This composition is not merely a track but an immersive auditory experience, woven with nostalgic vintage elements that resonate with trance enthusiasts. At the core of "Believe" lies a meticulously crafted arrangement, spearheaded by energetic, pulsating basslines that provide a robust foundation. The thumping kicks are precisely side-chained to achieve that quintessential pump effect, a hallmark in trance productions, ensuring rhythmic coherence and dynamic flow. Complementing these are the pounding basslines, layered using multi-band compression to maintain clarity while adding depth and warmth. The euphoric, hypnotic synth layers are created through advanced sound design techniques, likely employing virtual analog synthesizers with rich, detuned saw waves, giving them that lush, expansive quality. These synths are enveloped in reverb and delay effects, crafted to evoke a sense of vast, open sonic space, typical of Balearic trance aesthetics. Vocally, the track features a dual approach: magnificent whispering vocals intertwined with diva-style performances. The whispering vocals are processed with subtle high-pass filtering and stereo widening to create an ethereal, almost ghostly presence. In contrast, the diva vocals, emblematic of summer sun-kissed melodies, are treated with dynamic EQ and pitch modulation to stand out distinctly against the dense instrumental backdrop. A standout feature is the gated trance voices, achieved through rhythmic gating techniques that chop sustained vocal or synth notes into percussive-like stabs, synchronized precisely with the track’s 138 BPM. This not only adds a dynamic texture but also enhances the track’s hypnotic quality. The breakdown is a masterclass in tension-building, employing big uplifting synths with gradually opening filters, increasing resonance, and layered automation that crescendos with the reintroduction of percussion elements. This section is adorned with cool, atmospheric vocals, processed through granular synthesis for a textured, slightly fragmented feel, adding to the track’s emotive depth. The production of "Believe" is a testament to Signum’s prowess in blending technical precision with emotive musicality, creating a colorful and optimistic trance anthem. Its ability to transport listeners to a vibrant, summer club night under a Mediterranean moon is not just a testament to its melodic content but also to the sophisticated production techniques that breathe life into every beat and note. #PureGold #TranceMastery Love IT[/content]

Renowned trance DJ and producer Signum is best known for his 1999 anthem 'Coming On Strong'; last year, the Dutch artist collaborated with Ben Nicky, Hannah Laing, Korolova and more on reworks of the trance classic, which earned support from Above & Beyond, Yotto, David Guetta, Ferry Corsten, Giuseppe Ottaviani, AFROJACK and W&W to name a few.
Signum first appeared on Anjunabeats in 2003 with his remix of OceanLab's 'Beautiful Together'. He returned to the label in 2006 with his remix of Above & Beyond's 'Can't Sleep', which saw spins from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Darude and Gabriel & Dresden.
2024 was a busy year of touring for Signum, with shows at Ministry Of Sound in London, Trancefest at SWG3 in Glasgow, the Hard Trance Europe Weekender in Weston-super-Mare, and more.
Now, Signum drops his debut solo release on Anjunabeats, 'Homage'. An ethereal trance track with a hypnotic vocal, Above & Beyond first debuted the single last month as a mystery ID on their Group Therapy radio show.
Dimitris Kechagias Review: [review top="1"] [item value="10"] Signum - Homage[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Signum, a stalwart in the trance music scene, makes an impactful debut on Anjunabeats with "Homage," a masterfully crafted track pulsating at 136 BPM. This production is a testament to Signum's technical prowess and intricate sound design, seamlessly blending classic trance elements with modern production techniques. The track opens with a robust foundation of pulsating basslines, meticulously sidechained to create a dynamic interaction with the rolling kicks. The bass is engineered with a layered approach—combining sub-bass frequencies for depth and mid-bass elements for punch and clarity, ensuring it cuts through the mix without overpowering the melodic components. The tribal-esque drums are crafted using a mix of sampled organic percussions and synthesized toms, processed through transient shapers and subtle reverb to enhance their natural, earthy feel. Hypnotic synths are a hallmark of "Homage." Signum employs a combination of analog-modeled virtual synthesizers and digital wavetable synthesis to achieve rich, evolving textures. These synths are modulated with LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators) to create rhythmic sweeps and filter movements, adding to the track's hypnotic quality. The melancholic piano chords, processed with reverb and delay, bring an emotive depth, complemented by careful EQing to sit perfectly within the mix without clashing with the higher frequency synth layers. The ethereal breakdown serves as the emotional core of the track, featuring a superbly integrated female spoken vocal sample. The vocal is processed with a combination of stereo widening effects, reverb, and subtle pitch modulation to create a haunting, otherworldly presence. This section strips back the rhythmic elements, allowing lush pads and orchestral strings—crafted with high-quality sample libraries and layered for texture—to build a serene, floating ambiance. As the track progresses, the reintroduction of beats and basslines is meticulously timed to maintain energy and flow. The travelling piano melodies are enhanced with automation in panning and reverb tails, creating a sense of movement and spatial depth. The orchestral strings add a cinematic layer, dynamically arranged to rise and fall with the track's progression, enhancing the inspirational and immersive sonic experience. Overall, "Homage" is not just a track but an auditory journey—a fine blend of technical precision and emotive storytelling through sound design, arrangement, and meticulous production techniques. #PureGold Love iT [/content]

Having already turned heads with #1 Trance hit ‘Surrender’ on their revamped label, the Garuda pair turn to another timeless architect of dancefloor culture. This time serving up a unique rendition of Signum’s seminal club anthem ‘Coming on Strong’.
Neither Gareth or Ashley are strangers to underground anthems or wall-shattering club bangers. They both stood at the helm of the UK’s club scene with their original Garuda nights. Knowing this history, it’s fitting they chose to rework such a recognized and timeless classic in conjunction with the label’s relaunch.
Originally the brainchild of Gareth Emery, the pair now control Garuda together and are very clear on the label’s direction. One that offers cutting edge Trance and Progressive, with a sharp focus on melodic, uplifting records.
Looking ahead to Garuda’s upcoming 10 year milestone, they’ve already brought in a complete new team, strict music policy, visual makeover and diary of international events. 2018 is very clearly hotting up and following an early run of sold-out UK events, the guys will take their distinctive sound across North America for the first leg of the Garuda tour.
There and everywhere else, this slamming remix will no doubt recreate those explosive dancefloor moments, familiar to all who experienced Garuda club-nights or Gareth’s killer festival sets like Tomorrowland (2017), EDC Vegas (2017), ASOT 850 and more.
Press play, raise the volume and prepare to Come On Strong!
