Fans of whipping electro music have ample reason to get excited: Dave Clarke’s electro club night ‘Whip It’ returns to Melkweg during Amsterdam Dance Event. The Englishman has cooked up yet another line-up that’s bound to make a few heads spin: UMEK as Zeta Reticula, Dopplereffekt (live), Anthony Rother, Dez Williams, Brutuzz and of course Clarke himself are all present on Saturday the 22th of October in the Oude Zaal. Tickets are available for 15 euro’s a piece and can be bought at…

The Baron of Techno can add another honorary title to his name and we’re going to go for ‘Duke of Electro’ or what have you. Hundreds of electro music fans danced their asses off last February in the Melkweg for Clarke’s first edition of ‘Whip It’ with respectable names such as Aux 88, DJ Stingray 313 and electro-sets from Sonic-Boom resident Brutuzz and the Baron himself. Clarke proved once again nobody captures the zeitgeist quite like him and with the tone set; it’s time for yet some new whipping.

And whipping there shall be with UMEK as Zeta Reticula, a live-performance of Dopplereffekt, Anthony Rother and Dez Williams. Take Slovenian dj and producer UMEK for instance who, like Clarke, is famous for being a techno dj - albeit a different kind of techno – and they both share an unequivocal love for electro. UMEK professes his love through alter ego Zeta Reticula, which is a nod to the star system Zeta Reticuli. His powerful electro tracks are indeed stellar thanks to terrific breakbeats and stabbing synths that’ll keep your toes off the floor.

Speaking of alter ego’s: is that Gerald Donald of Drexciya as half of live-act Dopplereffekt? It sure is. Ever since James Stinson past away, Donald has been making a name for himself solo as Arpanet and Der Zyklus, and with To Nhan Le Thi as the enigmatic Dopplereffekt. The duo is seldomly interviewed and prefers to let the music speak for itself. And there’s nothing wrong with that: the German name for the act is no coincidence as they take the sound of Kraftwerk as starting point and give a whole new meaning to it. ‘Scientist’ and ‘Pornoactress’ are bona fide underground hits in their own right. To see the two work those synthesizers live, is a joy to behold.

It was only a matter of time before Clarke would book Anthony Rother for Whip It. The German is rightfully credited as one of the first electro revivalists at the turn of the century. With gems such as ‘Sex With The Machines’, ‘Hacker’ and ‘Simulationszeitalter’, Rother knows exactly what makes electro tick: the ubiquitous Roland 808, vocoder heaven and futuristic lyrics. It’s the sort of style that’s right up the alley of Welshman Dez Williams who impressed many electro aficionados with his debut LP ‘Elektronic Religion’ and continues to do so with recent releases on many respected labels including Bass Agenda. You like your electro with some heavy funk and techno on the side? Williams is your man.

And of course, no Whip It would be complete without electro-sets from Dave Clarke himself and Sonic Boom-resident Brutuzz. Both will impress you with known and lesser known electro tracks from their tremendous catalogs.

Very excited to present 'Ingrid Is a Hybrid’, the first single from our forthcoming artist album 'Outer'.

We’ve been working on ‘Outer’ for a while now and have put a lot of love into it. We can’t wait to share it in full later this year. Through the album process, we’ve explored a lot of our wider tastes and influences, collaborated with artists we respect and also conceived the live show that we’re debuting tomorrow at Village Underground.

‘Ingrid Is a Hybrid’ is a break from the 4/4 templates we’re known for, but represents a lot of what Dusky means to us. Enjoy! Nick and Alife

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Ingrid Is A Hybrid  comes from the forthcoming album of the classy act Dusky and is going to surprise you as they abandon temporarily their straight forward house sound by allowing other influences to come to the surface as well. It starts with emotional dreamy intro and them moves into the electro and break sequences while on top the eurodance style vocals add the 90's atmosphere to it. Spacey sound effects in the breakdown while the dancing comes back again when the electro climax is revealed and is destined to give you goosebumps as you go back in the 90s but in a very clever hybrid way. #PureGold Love it[/content]

Dimitri Kechagias review: The Chemical Brothers are part of the electronic music scene. They are faithful to their own sound that has energy, groove and great vocals too. Their long awaited album includes the stunning Go featuring the fantastic Q-Tip vocals. Now the remix package is finally out and contains surprising versions for sure. The top notch Claude van Stroke goes back to the old school and give us a clean, crispy slice of electro as it was famous back in Detroit with that modern futuristic touch to it. Dark, hypnotic and danceable is a great time-machine version that take us  in wonderful moments back to the old school. The warehouse and basement remixes bring that early rave 90's atmosphere with breaks, dirty grooves, filthy basslines and very danceable sound that you can not resist it easily so let yourself GO. Love It

Mathias Schaffhäuser's fourth collection of remixes will be released in March and April 2015 in an exceptionally lavish way. Two vinyl EPs, each with an additional CD, will be released 4 weeks apart. The vinyls will feature the clubbiest tracks, which also will be on the CDs (some of them in uncut original versions), flanked by a handful of more subtle and experimental tunes, making 17 tracks in all.

Many of the pieces are newly edited and mastered, and were produced over the last three years. Because most of the remixes were done for tracks of (sadly) less known artists and released on small underground labels, the album has an uncommercial, underground character. It doesn't sound like the typical remix compilation, but more like an artistically consistent album. Direct quote by Mr. Schaffhäuser: "To me, my RE-'compilations' have the same significance and status as my 'artist' albums; I don't differentiate at all - they are all my babies.“

Buy the vinyl at deejay.de click here

Dimitri Kechagias review: The return of the legend Mathias Schaffhäuser is definitely big news and his great compilation/album Mathias Schaffhäuser vs Various Artists is absolute awesome and extremely useful for techno djs who search for those shinning quality tunes out there and for the techno fans who like to enjoy the very best in classy forward thinking music in their living rooms while they drink the nice fruit fusion tea and eat their tasty biscuits. Danny Lilwall comes first with Poison Ivy. Mathias version is dark moody pounding techno with hypnotic melodies, cool synths and percussion melodies. Fantastic sound design and incredible flow that attract the ear and easily lock you in its mindblowing grooves. Ziggy Kinder with Meteoroid  is remixed perfectly by Mathias. His version is upfront pounding techno with rolling basslines, fantastic drum programming and epic synthy hook that drive the track forward and add its anthemic feeling.  The breakdown includes the melancholic organ like melody that certainly brings an emotional edge as well. The drop is driving and very danceable. I can imagine Carl Cox or Laurent Garnier playing this for sure. Kaiser Souzai are represented by  Foggy. Mathias remix is an excellent upfront prime time deep tech house version with haunting basslines, techy grooves and variety of synths, natural sounds, percussion melodies and melodramatic parts that combined along with that distorted country vocal that appears in the breakdown and gives you instantly goosebumps for sure. A)Pendics.shuffle and No Reduction is re-imagined as an old school electro groover with spacey vocal samples, playful synths and chopped vocal samples. Be aware that the rhythm on this one is truly addictive. Highest & Joe and  Future Jazz comes next. Mathias re-imagines jazz with strong techno elements, relentless hypnotic grooves, funky rthym and pounding drums. Distorted vocal samples and great late night atmosphere that will transfer you to the underground clubs in Cologne for sure. Moritz Ochsenbauer & Jakob Reiter exceptional Metroland is remixed by Fanatico who add their own magic spirit to it with lazy grooves, dark basslines and fantastic vocals that add to the track its unique transcending quality. Velve with Grace is remixed perfectly by Mathias who builds an exceptional involving attractive deep tech house groove that is dominating and hypnotic supported perfectly by the female vocals that highlights the coldness and loneliness we all feel sometimes even if are surrounded by thousands. Paris Haze with Could You Love Me is translated from Mathias as deep driving techno anthem with trancy edges, hypnotic atmosphere and excellent synthy melodies combined with electro sequences and highly distorted vocal samples that are used more as sound and texture less as something meaningful. Lastly Twila.too - Fossile is re-imagined by Mathias as minimal experimental avant garde electro meets breaks style version with cinematic strings, vintage melodies and cool French vocal samples. This top album can be used in clubs, cars and living rooms with therapeutic effects. Let your mind dive with Mathias as your guide and experience ART in electronic music. Love It

Jump back in time to when electro vibes were gaining ground and starting to sweep the globe. Few songs capture the spirit of the time better than Mason’s ‘Exceeder’, and the iconic riff translates exceptionally well into 2014.

With 5 different styles, ranging from UMEK & Mike Vale’s deeper cut to Kill The Buzz’s big-room flavor and Sonny Wharton’s rolling rework, there’s no denying that this tune works just as well now as it did when it was first released.

2CV bring the funky 80s vibe, while Corderoy hammers home a slamming monster.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most recognisable electro riffs of all times included on Mason's club classic Exceeder receives the 2014 treatment with five exceptional remixes to choose from that are already part on the dj sets of the biggest djs in the planet. First of all is UMEK & Mike Vale who bring  their incredible deep tech house vibe with chunky techy grooves, deep rolling basslines, superb percussion melody and the killer electro riff that comes in the breakdown after the very cool vocal sample and lead the track to its ecstatic climax that will please the ears of the purists. Kill The Buzz are on the mission to deliver the alternative rough and cranking version with pumping booming threatening aggressive basslines, bouncy pulsating grooves, swirling synths and superb application of the magnificent electro hook line to bring shivers and enjoyment to those who will recognise it. Sonny Wharton add to the original the tribal techy grooves, deep funky  basslines while on top the main synthy hook appear to give goosebumps straight away. You can not go wrong when Sonny Wharton is on remix duties you can be left assured. Corderoy is slowly rising in the progressive house scene after his more trance oriented material with a stunning version that will deliver the goods for you. If you search for a powerful driving and highly intensive ride don't go further than this remix. The original maddening riff is here but packaged in a totally new shinning box to bring mayhem on prime time dj sets that needs the Corderoy eclectic touch! 2CV remix is an exceptional back to basics version with artists like Africa Bambaataa coming in our minds with electro funky dirty sleazy atmosphere to keep the bodies moving and shaking! Five versions that will be hammered a lot during ADE festival that's for sure. Love IT

This is such a wonderful opportunity to request an interview from Estiva & Juventa and find out what they got in their heads when they were selecting and mixing the most important compilation for the label that always delivers magnificent anthems and most important forward thinking music that will pass easily the test of time. Here they are for your eyes only the exclusive compilers & mixers of Enhanced Sessions vol.4 out 22nd of September naturally on Enhanced Music...

Interviews were written and conducted by Dimitri Kechagias, Music Journalist /Radio DJ

10 Questions for Estiva about Enhanced Sessions vol.4 compilation

Dimitri: How did you feel when Enhanced Music announced to you that you had been selected to mix one of the two CDs for the legendary compilation?

Estiva: Obviously very honoured! It’s a compilation all the fans are looking forward to as it showcases the most exciting upcoming releases on Enhanced.

Dimitri: Can you please explain to us the process of compiling your CD? Did Enhanced Music choose the tracks for you, or did you have personal input in the choice of the tracks?  How long did it take you to compile the CD, and did you mix it in one take or several?

Estiva: As soon as I loudly said yes to mixing the compilation Enhanced gave me access to an insane amount of unreleased material, and even tracks that were works in progress! Besides that, Enhanced gave me free reign to use tracks from other labels as well. Making a selection was tough as there’s simply not enough space on one disc to include all your favourites.

The whole mixing process took over three months, as I wanted to add new Estiva originals as well. It also took me a while to find out what kind of feeling I wanted to reflect in the mix. The first mix ideas were far from the end result simply because of the access I had to that huge amount of exclusive tracks.

Dimitri: The compilation includes brand new material from you. Can you please give us some details?

Estiva:
a) Estiva & The Spacies – Voices (Estiva Mix)
Enhanced got me in contact with The Spacies and I was overwhelmed by their demo. Dave is an amazingly talented vocalist and his sound is very anthem-ish. This song is all about dynamics and melodies, and I think it is my best work to date.

b) Estiva feat. Sarah Russell – Feels Right
As soon as I was done remixing Daniel Kandi ft Sarah Russell - Change The World I knew I wanted to work with Sarah on an original. It took us a while to puzzle the pieces in the beginning. We actually wrote one song before Feels Right that we weren’t satisfied enough with. The demo for Feels Right hit the spot for me though and the writing process was pretty easy in the end! Such a summer feel!

c) Estiva - Let It Go (Original Mix)
This one is different I must say! I’ve experimented with drums, and the rock influence in this track is pretty high. The drop on the other hand is very modern day EDM. This is another vocal track and as I’ve experimented a lot with this one I can’t wait to hear what people think of it!

d) Tritonal & Paris Blohm feat. Sterling Fox – Colors (Estiva vs. Juventa Remix)
Juventa and I decided to remix this one for fun basically. The result was too good to not put on the CD. If you like our Now Or Never remix you’ll love this one too!

Dimitri: There are some more exclusives from other artists. Can you give us a short comment about them please.

Estiva:
a) Fon.Leman – Cerberus (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
A dark track with an insane bassline. It’s all about the bass in this track! The haunting feel is thrilling.

b) Donati & Amato – Invincible (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
One of my favourites! Such a feel-good melodic vocal track; I’m singing along with this one loudly. Very loudly!

c) Speed Limits & Jaco feat. Joni Fatora – Palm Of Your Hand (Original Mix)
And this must be my #1 favourite. Joni’s vocals are angelic and the seamless production of Speed Limits and Jaco make it sound like sex to my ears.

d) Alex Klingle - Phase Shift (Original Mix)
One of the more driving tracks in my mix. Very dynamic stabs and basslines. This track is 100% Enhanced Music.

e) LTN feat. Christina Novelli - Feeling Like Yeah (Alexander Popov Remix)
LTN has done some amazing work! Christina too. And Alex Popov as well. Do you really want me to explain this!? :)

f) Misha Kitone & K.S.Y. – Champions
This track came in last minute and I’m so happy it did! The hook in this track is ridiculously infectious. I remember when we were doing the Enhanced Australia tour I heard this track in my hotel room for the first time and it gave me so much energy!

Dimitri:  Your current single is called Feels Right with Sarah Russell . How did you work with Sarah on this track? Did you start with the vocal and then build the track around it, or did the vocal come after Sarah listened to your instrumental?

Estiva: She sent me this demo and then I wrote the track around it. It was the easiest writing process I’ve ever done, her voice is perfect.

Dimitri: You will co-host the Enhanced Sessions radio show along with label owners Tritonal. How do you feel about this honour, and how is this going to happen? Are you going to share or host the show in turns?

Estiva: This is a big one for me! It shows the support I’m getting from the label. I’ve had my fair share of takeovers and guest mixes, but to be part of the roster now is amazing. Tritonal, Juventa, Will Holland and myself will be on rotation, so every four weeks it’s my turn, and believe me that I’ll give my absolute best!

Dimitri: Have you done any major upgrades in your studio recently, and can you describe the kind of equipment and software you have at the moment?

Estiva: Actually, I’ve just bought a massive sound and instruments back called Komplete by Native Instruments! It’s like buying 15 pianos, 35 guitars and a hangar full of samples!
I have KRK RP6 studio monitors and I’m using FL Studio 9 and Ableton 7 respectively for production, mixing, edits and mashups.

Dimitri: Are you going to move towards the Progressive House direction or are there  thoughts you might return to your Progressive Trance roots?

Estiva:  I think there’s a very thin line between prog house an prog trance. I’ve always thought Eric Prydz sounds more like prog trance than house, and yet he’s always categorised as prog house. I don’t really know where I’m going, but I will always keep it melodic as that’s where my heart lies.

Dimitri: Is possible to choose for us from the Enhanced back catalogue, the top 3 tracks that you would like to remix in your current Estiva style?

Estiva:
Juventa ft Erica Curran - Move Into Light
Tritonal ft Skyler Stonestreet - Electric Glow
Arty - Twilight Tonight

Dimitri: Are there any plans to commence a club tour around the world to support the release of this compilation? If so, do you have any confirmed dates?

Estiva: Yes, but nothing confirmed as of yet!

10 Questions for Juventa about Enhanced Sessions vol.4 compilation

Dimitri: How did you feel when Enhanced Music announced to you that you are going to mix one of the two CDS on the legendary compilation?

Juventa: Absolutely honoured!  I’ve done two compilations on the label before, but this one is definitely the biggest.

Dimitri: Can you please explain to us the process of compiling your CD? Did Enhanced Music choose the tracks for you, or did you have personal input in the choice of the tracks?  How long did it take you to compile the CD, and did you mix it in one take or several?

Juventa: I got a whole bunch of fresh tracks from the label, and also selected / licensed some of my personal favourites. I then picked the 20-30 best tracks and started working on the mix – I eventually used just 19 of them! I think I’ve work on the mix for about two weeks in short bursts, so that each time I would continue on it I had a fresh mindset and could actually judge whether it was sounding alright or not, haha. I’m really happy with the results and can’t wait for everyone to hear the mix!

Dimitri: The compilation includes brand new material from you. Can you please give some details.

Juventa:
a. Juventa – NTRMZ (Original Mix)
NTRMZ is the 2nd track on my ‘Culture Flow’ EP. I originally started the mix with Mr Fijiwiji’s remix of ‘Start A Fire’, and this piece matched perfectly and ended up being the intro track of the mix.

b. Cole Plante feat. Ruby O’Dell (with Myon & Shane 54) - If I Fall (Juventa Remix)
I did this remix for my good friends Cole and Myon & Shane 54 a couple of months ago. It’s still one of my favourite remixes I’ve done so far, so I just had to put it on the compilation!

c. Juventa feat. Kelly Sweet – Superhuman (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
My most recent release, and probably my biggest single so far – couldn’t leave it out!

d. Juventa – Torque (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
A track that I finished just before starting on the mix, it shows my more electro-oriented side. Really wanted to have this on the compilation to add some diversity!

e. Tritonal feat. Phoebe Ryan - Now Or Never (Estiva vs. Juventa Remix)
Me and Estiva made this remix late 2013; it’s the first track that we did together and it got a massive response, so we’ll definitely be doing some more stuff together!

f. Juventa – Woolloomooloo (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
I made this track after my first Australia tour last year (it’s named after a Sydney suburb). Just like ‘Torque’ this one is heavily influenced by electro. It was so much fun to work on this track!

g. Juventa – SHWDWN (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]

This track is just pure energy. It’s one of my favourite originals and I play it out a lot as it does wonders on the dancefloor.

Dimitri: Of course there are some more exclusives from other artists. Can you give us a short comment about them too?

Juventa:
a. Wrechiski - Vice Chase (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
Wrechiski sent this one to me personally as a submission for my mix, and I instantly fell in love with it. It has a really cool, groovy vibe to it.

b. BT feat. Christian Burns – Paralyzed (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
Massive production from BT and amazing vocal work from Christian – it’s a super catchy song, I just had to claim this one for my mix.

c. Speed Limits – Petrichor (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
One of many new Speed Limits productions, but this was definitely my favourite. Massive lead, steady beat – just a beautiful track!

d. Aerosoul & Yoel ft. Jenny Mayhem - Dreams Come True (Original Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
There’s just something to this track that makes me play it over and over again – can’t get enough of it!

e. Tritonal vs. Mr. FijiWiji - Seraphic (Club Mix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
Gorgeous intro, banging drop… this track has it all! Perfect collaboration between these super talented artists.

f. Tygris – Lyra (T-Mass Remix) [ALBUM EXCLUSIVE]
I love dubstep, especially if it has a melodic touch to it. T-Mass made this amazing remix of Tygris’ song ‘Lyra’ – it’s the perfect closing track in my opinion!

Dimitri:  Your current single is called ‘Superhuman featuring Kelly Sweet’. How did you meet up with Kelly and decide to work with her on this track? Did you start with the vocal and build the track around it, or did the vocal come after Sarah listened to your instrumental?

Juventa: A few months ago I got an email from Chad from Tritonal, with an acapella attached that he received. It was meant to be used for a Tritonal production but he figured I could do something amazing with it, so he was kind enough to give it to me! I wrote the entire track around Kelly’s vocals, which was a bit of a challenge at first as I normally make the demo and get vocals afterwards. But me and Kelly are really happy with how the track turned out! We’re currently working on another track already!

Dimitri: Also you will co-host the ‘Enhanced Sessions Radio Show’ along with label owners Tritonal. How do you feel about this honour, and how is this going to happen? Are you going to share or host the show in turn?

Juventa: We’re hosting the show on rotation, so each week of every month you have a different host: Me, Tritonal, Estiva or Will Holland. I’ve had my own podcast for a while now but it’s really fun to also do the Enhanced Sessions radio show every now and then! It’s a nice opportunity to share some more alternative stuff with the Enhanced following.

Dimitri: Have you done any major upgrades to your studio recently and can you describe the kind of equipment and software you have at the moment?

Juventa:  I recently bought Native Instrument’s Komplete Ultimate bundle, which is a great addition to the software I already had. I have a really, really basic setup and mostly produce on my Pioneer HDJ2000 headphones (works for me!). Some of my favourite plugins are Sylenth1, Massive, Razor, Harmor, Zebra 2 and z3ta. For effects I really like all the FabFilter products!

Dimitri: Are you in favour of collaborations? If yes, do you plan any in the near future and is it possible to reveal the artists that you would like to work with?

Juventa: Absolutely. Some artists that I would LOVE to work with are Mat Zo, Dyro, Xilent, Porter Robinson, Arty and Dubvision. I’ve already got my wish of working with Tritonal fulfilled, you should be hearing the results of that collaboration later this year!

Dimitri: s possible to choose for us from the Enhanced back catalogue, the top 3 tracks that you would like to remix them in your current Juventa style?

Juventa:
Arty’s ‘Twilight Tonight’,
Willem de Roo – Datamoon and
Audien’s ‘Keep This Memory’.

Dimitri: From the clubs/festivals you have performed at so far, which performance stands out most, and in which club or festival do you aspire to perform in the future?

Juventa:  Lucky Festival and Foundation Nightclub, both in Seattle, World DJ Festival in Seoul and ASOT 600 in Den Bosch were definitely stand out shows! In the future I would love to play a festival like Ultra, EDC, Tomorrowland or EZoo. I also haven’t played in a club on Ibiza yet – that’s on my wish list too!

Thanks so much to Estiva & Juventa for taking some time to reply in my questions and let us know some of the backstage process of this fantastic must have compilation.

Thanks so much to Lauren Worthington, Publicist at Theory-X for organising these great interviews.

Thanks so much to Enhanced Music crew for their love and support in my radio shows for so many years.

After years of planning, Mat Zo is launching his new label Mad Zoo. Unlike most other labels, every Mad Zoo release will be available for free on Soundcloud for the first week alongside each release.

The first Mad Zoo release is out now and sees an official packaging of Mat Zo's recent quirky disco-house flavoured jam "Get Down 2 Get Up" (feat. The Knocks), as well as the brand new electro-breaks number "Left To Right".

"I've always wanted a quicker outlet for my music, so a while ago I decided to release some of my music for free on soundcloud. The only problem with this is if I want to license the track out, or even put the track on youtube, there has to be a label structure around it. The plans for Mad Zoo had been underway for years, so I decided to use the venture as new way for me to release music quickly, yet still have infrastructure around it. I will still continue to work with other labels in the conventional way." Mat Zo

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of those artists that deserve to get recognition and the mainstage performances that he deserves is of course Mat Zo who all remember from his magnificent trancier releases on Anjunabeats and of course from those years he moves to the sound that I believe represented him better and I feel he has the open artistic ground to be more experimental and surprise our ears. His label Mad Zoo explodes to the world of electronic dance music with his first EP that will do big damage without doubts. Get Down 2 Get Up is wonderful French disco house friendly record with great vocal parts and feel good atmosphere with funky guitar licks and irresistible groove and attractive rhythm that you know that the clubbers will feel straight away. With Daft Punk touches passed through his own filters and influences. Absolutely club and radio friendly material ready to get playlisted on the finest shows. If you want something more darker and maddening go Left To Right and you will find what you are searching for. Electro meets trap hybrid that will get many supporters in those particular scenes. Energetic with teasing elements that raise the tension and bring the track to its climax as it should be done. Good Luck Mat Zo and we are looking forward for more Mad Zoo's tunes. Love iT

Freestylers Feat. Lara Steel – Falling (AfterHours Remix)
Freestylers Feat. Lara Steel – Falling (AfterHours Instrumental)
Freestylers Feat. Lara Steel – Falling (Wickaman Remix)

On their Original version, ‘Falling’s early light-box atmospherics fade fast into whip-quick two-step snares & kicks, snapping rim-shot percussion recoil and speaker reaping distortion. Subbing up the LFO, ‘Falling’ walks the line between the viscera of its floor-capitalising jump-up drums, and the bravura of its cultured, darkly beautiful and moody bass. As the drumstep FX burns, Laura Steel’s vocal brings the track its coup-de-grace moment, sealing ‘Falling’s lightning into the bottle.

Taking the track to stylistic spaces far and wide, Stanton Warriors, AfterHours and Wickaman marshal to deliver ‘Falling’ some speaker-kicking reworks.

Firing their treatment up with chunky tribal house drums and loud, echoing percussion, through a mid-mix skim of the pitch-wheel, the Stantons’ skew ‘Falling’ back into break-beat terrain. Using its immersive opening pads & chords to underpin Laura’s vocals in the break, at the top of the drop they cut, chop & loop them to dizzyingly infectious effect.

Carving out a soulful, late-into-the-night vibe for the track, the AfterHours crew brings ‘Falling’ some deeper house juice. Playing perfectly off Laura’s vocals, through its Todd Terry-like beats and subby London Town bass, it’ll prove an irresistible tonic for Disclosure and Duke Dumont heads alike.

Recalibrating ‘Falling’ to its Original drum ’n’ bass theme, UK fast-riser Wickaman seizes the remix controls. Blowing up the tempo, he plies his mix with ram-raiding beats, swerving, mass event FX, renegade distortion and Laura’s outstanding vocals to create some seriously dark sonic matter.

Be it house, breaks or drum & bass, there’s a mix here for you. ‘Falling' drops Jan 13th.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved bass music project Freestylers stand out with their high quality output that underground clubs and UK Top 40 fans will appreciate as well. The brand new single is called Falling featuring the hypnotic vocals by Lara Steel. The original mix is a dreamy liquid drum n bass beauty that stands out with its cinematic strings, warm synths and of course the liquid drum n bass foundation that actually is quite influenced from dubstep as well with heavy bass distortion in some moments. Relaxing, erotic, travelling, exotic and highly enjoyable are some of the words that can describe the emotions that this great track evokes. Lara deeply emotional and highly expressive voice adds that pop touch to the track and will definitely support it to crossover to wider audiences. Stanton Warriors are on board for the remix package and they deliver a wonderful hybrid of breaks and old school electro beats adding an even more funky twisted sexy edge to it. Very danceable with great percussion and rhythm is super hard to stand still when this will be played in a club. Imaginative remix with many sonic surprises that invite you to discover them and take endless pleasures from them. Stanton Warriors instrumental mix is perfect for those who would like to concentrate on the great grooves and sonic soundscapes. Falling is really beautiful. The Afterlife remix will become favourite to those who love deep tech house that is melodic, romantic, sweet and retro take us back in the years of analogue music when house was underground. Very nice synths upon the deep basslines and the very strong sing a long vocals that particularly females will adore them and learn them easily by heart. Of course for the instrumentalists out there the package includes the instrumental version as well. Love iT

It must be: Anna F.  Great looks , as she rushes and approaches with flowing hair on her second-hand bike. Meeting Point is a park in Berlin, the weather could not be better . One notices immediately that she is one of those rare people that it is impossible to dislike . With their pleasant nature Anna takes an instant for herself and makes every moment with her presence to appear valuable, without having to work hard for it.  It is quite clear that you can hear on her new album "King In The Mirror " her fragility.

Just take the time to check the dreamy honest " Too Far ," in which Anna longingly sings the everlasting battle under the sign of love. Or reclined driving "Van Gogh " lived through all the parallel worlds in your head between anxiety disorders and exuberant self-confidence . Or the title song "King In The Mirror ", which  Anna co-wrote with former EMF guitarist Ian Dench, and in which it brings the feeling of discrepancy between self - perception and perception with voluminous minimalism to the point.

In general, it often goes on the record about the duality of things : truth and fiction in order to love and hate to yesterday and tomorrow , to fear, and courage to herself and to others. And so , as Anna F. combines all these opposites and "King In The Mirror " a plate of this fact forms , which makes this contrast audible, tangible , understandable , how they deny the daring path to herself with musical versatility through which she takes her audience by the hand and tells you to follow her, and though unconcerned , impartially and without fear.

"King In The Mirror , Queen Of The Shy" - Anna F. has done it on her new album to make the contradictions of life audible, visible and tangible , to give her personal stories a relevance. She express her musical vision with a face that is so beautiful and mysterious and expressive as her own. At least.

Dimitri Kechagias review: It seems that Germany is the homeland of many new talents that make international career. Get ready world to welcome the superb Anna F with her incredible track DNA. Witty super clever lyrics combined with retro house beats, electro pop sensibilities and her stunning sexy indeed voice, this stunning singer with the name Anna F is about to conquer the world. Of course she is full of positive attitude and hunger to enjoy life to the maximum. Mainly girls but also boys will easily identify with her stories and will start singing her words easily. The remix package includes two very strong remixes to please the current trend of deep tech house audiences. Bounce Terrace remix is chunky, groovy, deep tech house with early 90's balearic house infusions. Great old school piano melodies and synths will keep great company to Anna F. Perfect sunny sounds to keep the summer around a little longer. Bounce main room mix moves on the deep tribal tech house territory with much more energy and upfront atmosphere. The full vocal is included to sing with hands in the air and enjoy life if partying is inside your DNA! Anna F, You will Love HER!
