On the 25th anniversary of his UK #1 hit single “You Don’t Know Me”, Armand Van Helden returns to FFRR with another summer anthem in the making: “I Won’t Stop”.

“I Won’t Stop” (out August 18th) is a return to the high energy, vocal-driven house sound that made Armand Van Helden a name synonymous with game-changing music that stands the test of time. Already securing staunch support from tastemakers including Danny Howard (BBC Radio 1), Gorgon City, Fisher, David Guetta and Barry Can’t Swim, it’s safe to say that “I Won’t Stop” is set to be a firm festival favourite this summer.

Armed with one of the season’s catchiest vocal hooks, “I Won’t Stop” is a throwback to the golden era of rave – a love letter sealed with a kiss of sirens and old school synths. Straddling the fine line between club weapon and crossover hit, “I Won’t Stop” is a timely reminder of the unique position Armand Van Helden has held within electronic music for over two decades.
“I’d been experimenting with American freestyle music and trying to tap into the sound for a long time, so this record is a mash up of American freestyle and old, big New York club music from 1993 - that’s what I was trying to spin with this track. It’s a song that is ridiculous and I want people to be lit up and live in the ridiculousness when they hear ‘I Won’t Stop’.” – Armand Van Helden
In 1999, “You Don’t Know Me” - Armand’s first outing on FFRR - secured the #1 spot on the UK singles chart and was a top 10 hit in France, Germany and Italy; the release’s overnight success has left a lasting impression on the scene, rightfully earning its spot as one of house music’s most iconic and timeless tracks. Along with that unmistakable NYC swagger and an ear for a chart crossover, subsequent #1s with Dizzee Rascal and a remix of Tori Amos’ “Professional Widow” helped secure Armand’s place as the undisputed king of the late 90s and early 00s.
“I’ve always felt that Armand Van Helden was synonymous with FFRR, thanks to records and remixes like “U Don’t Know Me” and “Sugar is Sweeter” which I played to death as a wannabe DJ back in the day. I’ve always been mindful to have a focus on the future with the full acknowledgment and appreciation of the past, so to welcome Armand back to the label after 25 years with an incredible brand-new record that feels utterly current but classic at the same time, is a dream come true.” – Andy Daniell – FFRR

It feels right, then, that Armand Van Helden should return to FFRR on the 25th anniversary of “You Don’t Know Me” to solidify his place at the top and share a statement with one clear and undeniable message to electronic music: “I Won’t Stop”.

FFRR was founded in 1986. The label has brought countless culturally important records across the dance music spectrum over the years including Orbital, Armand Van Helden, Salt ‘N’ Pepa, Lil Louis, Goldie to name but a few.

We continue to build on that heritage with new & exciting cutting-edge music. Since the beginning of 2020, FFRR has enjoyed success with Diplo & SIDEPIECE’s “On My Mind”, Alan Fitzpatrick vs Patrice Rushen’s “Haven’t You Heard” and Obskür’s “Bayside”. They have also welcomed artists such as Eats Everything, Sam Gellaitry and Sonny Fodera to the FFRR family.
Our mission is to release Music That Moves You.

Blonde have released a 3-track remix package for their latest single, ‘Me, Myself & I’ featuring Bryn Christopher. The UK duo have recruited the likes of Joe Stone, Friend Within and Vanilla Ace to rework their infectious track.

Released this summer, ‘Me, Myself & I’ has gained almost 4 million Spotify streams to date, peaked in the Top 5 of the UK Shazam Dance Chart and has received strong radio support from Kiss and BBC Radio 1.  The track earned Scott Mills’ ‘Tune of The Week’ and became a solid fixture in Mistajam’s Saturday Dance Anthems show.

Blonde are hot!
The infectious energy of ‘Me, Myself & I’ has now been reimagined by Dutch DJ Joe Stone, who laces his remix with deep piano-led melodies and bouncy basslines. Joe’s rework is of stark contrast to the darker feel offered by London-based producer Vanilla Ace.

Introducing brooding chord-patterns into the mix, Vanilla Ace, who has previously released on several iconic labels including Toolroom and Simma Black, brings vibrant twists to his interpretation. Friend Within’s own offering maintains Bryn Christopher’s addictive vocal hook, as he spins sumptuous basslines into the mix to deliver a real dancefloor filler.

Having amassed over 200 million streams in their career so far, UK pair Blonde have previously scored major success in the shape of ‘All Cried Out’ (UK number #4), ‘I Loved You’ (UK number #7) and Craig David collab ‘Nothing Like This’ (UK number #15) – which were all A-listed at BBC Radio 1, racking up over 1.5 million domestic sales, in the process.

Blonde recently performed at London’s Archspace venue for a sold out show in association with Club MTV. Next month, the duo will be special guests at YouTube channel Selected’s 5 Years party alongside the likes of Friend Within, The Magician and TCTS

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Blonde is definitely one of the hottest house duo at the moment and with true star quality in them.  Me, Myself & I ft. Bryn Christopher is their brand new track that has been played already by many well known DJs and got instant recognition. Now the remix package extends our pleasure from it. Firstly is Friend Within remix with chunky beats, funky basslines, disco infusions, uplifting piano riffs and on the drop a very energetic wobbly synthy line that adds extra clubbing feeling to the result and of course the excellent application of the full vocal for those singalong get together moments.  Joe Stone remix is very pretty with mainstream appeal as it has future and tropical infusions for the perfect commercial crossover house sound. Lastly Vanilla Ace remix takes things in a more minimal direction with superb dark basslines, electronic synthy riffs, strong drum percussion, superb guitar riffs and fantastic use of the perfect vocal. The result is a very credible underground version that is easy to cross over as well.  Top house versions for sure. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

The Magician strikes gold again with his new single ‘Sunlight’ in collaboration with Years & Years singer Olly Alexander, released late Summer 2014 via The Magician’s own label Potion.

A bonafide hands-in-the-air Summer record that will definitely not sound out of place echoing throughout the Balearic Isles, ‘Sunlight’ is built for sun-flecked terraces with it’s rolling up-tempo bassline that pushes Years & Years vocals deep into smile-firmly-on-the-face territory. Make no mistake, The Magician has dug deep for gold in aural form with‘Sunlight’.

Long associated with energetic dance releases, The Magician has taken things into a new plane with ‘Sunlight’. Previously a member of revered Balearic disco duo, Aeroplane, The Magician struck out on his own in 2010 for a raft of collaborations with Yuksek and epic remixes such as Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’ and Lykke Li’s ‘Follow Rivers’ which has since topped the 40 million views on YouTube mark: no mean feat for any DJ/producer.

Arguably best known to an army of modern-day music lovers through his monthly MagicTapes, The Magician regularly sifts through new music - exclusives from other artists plus music from fans - crafting these tracks into a new DJ mix tape which is seen as a barometer of what’s hot and what’s not, With the ability to break an upcoming artist, he’s gained a cult following of disco, pop and house fans.

To coincide with the launch of 'Sunlight' The Magician has also announced the first of his personally curated 'POTION' events, beginning in London & Paris with more European dates set to be announced.

Saturday 18th October – Paris, Showcase, Port des Champs Elysées

Dimitri Kechagias review: The Magician is definitely the next big thing from the deep house scene that will get the mainstream recognition that he deserves. His superb single Sunlight features the soulful vocals by Years & Years singer Olly Alexander. The track is a wonderful deep late night house feel good relaxing and soothing anthem with vocals that are simply excellent and most appropriate for this fantastic record. Deep haunting moody basslines, pumping bouncy kicks, warm strings, electronic music influences and quality soulful vocals. It's one of those records that you play again and again when you want to recall some of the finest moments of your summer holidays. Blonde remix is deep UK garage house infused version with 90's style basslines, tribal groove, cool organ riffs and piano chords that crawl under your skin pretty easily. Darius remix is the relaxing soothing groove chilling version for those after club moments when you relax while you drive your car back home. Watermät in his remix follows his signature sound with cool relaxing intro with the full vocal followed by the more upfront dark techno house sequence that will put many clubs on fire so better have handy the telephone of the fire brigade. Hit record guaranteed already UK Top 10 anthem. #PureGold Love IT
