REVIEW: Gabriel & Dresden feat. Betsie Larkin - Play It Back (remixes) on Organised Nature / Armada Music

1-Maor Levi remix
2-Ken Loi remix

Now that we've had the chance to experience Gabriel & Dresden's first new vocal song in 5 years, Josh and Dave invited rising stars Ken Loi and Maor Levi to remix ‘Play It Back’ featuring Betsie Larkin - and the results take this song down two completely new and different paths.

Israeli producer Maor Levi has been the buzz on many EDM fans' lips for quite some time. Once you listen to his progged out blissful remix you'll completely understand why so many people are talking. Maor simplified the vocals to just a few choice bits while also making a top line so thick and melodic you'll have to fight yourself hard to forget it. Armin loved it so much he immediately played it on ASOT saying that Maor "killed it"

Not to be outdone, Californian DJ/producer and Tiesto protegee Ken Loi takes the song and points it squarely at peaktime on any festival dancefloor. 2 huge buildups that feature cool chops of the vocal and two bass heavy drops are certain to leave many DJ's and dancers speechless in the coming months.

Gabriel & Dresden feat. Betsie Larkin - Play It Back by Armada Music

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the hottest progressive vocal anthems of 2012 is of course the excellent Gabriel & Dresden collaboration with the sweet Betsie Larkin for the dark and thoughtful and highly addictive Play it Back. The original package is already considered as successful and now the additional remix package is unleashed on Organised Nature/Armada Music. First of all the progressive house master Ken Loi delivers his stunning ultra rough and rocking version nu rave remix ready for peak time moment action in any dj set this holiday season.  Its solid, pumping, energetic, with raw basslines, jumping shaking beats, some acid overtones at the background and on the cool relaxing breakdowns some parts of the vocal just enough to give the colour and atmosphere of the original track. Second remix for the big progressive trance sets is Maor's Levi version that is really melodic, spacey with dubstep infusions too. It starts with breaks style part and lands on a very emotional sensitive intro breakdown that the whole vocal is released with sugary electronic style melodic riffs. The huge synths will turn the track into a monster hands in the air action packed euphoric version that relentlessly builds up with rough energetic basslines, tough techy beats and the huge anthemic  synths on top. Very melodic and inspiring is definitely one of the best remixes by Maor Levi on 2012. Both versions reserve space in your playlist at the peak time for sure. Love iT
