Genix returns to Anjunabeats with 'Rave Digger EP', a collection of dance-floor anthems.

With the success of his album, 'YOU.ME.NOW', totalling over 9M streams to date and a subsequent tour with more than 20 headline dates, 2024 was a massive year for Genix. Just early this year, he joined Anjunabeats at multiple label shows, including the Anjunabeats Showcase in Austin, Texas, the Anjunabeats Miami Pool Party and most recently the Anjuna25 showcase in New York City at Avant Gardner in May.

After marking his return in early July with trance banger ‘Amnesia’, a tribute to the legendary Ibiza nightclub, the British producer then followed up with the title track, 'Rave Digger'. A rework of MC Lethal's 1992 hit, the track originally debuted during Genix's set at iconic London venue, Battersea Power Station, and has since become a staple part of his sets for the past year.

Alongside singles 'Amnesia' and 'Rave Digger', the EP also features 'Dreams', a collaboration with British DJ and producer James Dean, who played the track at Creamfields Festival last year. The trance floor-filler features a nostalgic vocal sample from the 1980's Chaka Khan hit 'Clouds'. The EP also features a breakbeat rework of 'Rave Digger'.

[item value="10"]Genix - Rave Digger EP [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The Genix Rave Digger EP is a compelling collection that seamlessly bridges the nostalgic energy of early rave culture with contemporary electronic production techniques. This EP features four tracks: "Rave Digger," "Amnesia," "Dreams with James Dean," and a breaks mix of "Rave Digger." Each track offers a distinct sonic journey, infused with trance, house, and techno influences that harken back to the euphoric sounds of the '90s while embracing modern dynamics and clarity. 1. Rave Digger: This title track is a powerful homage to the golden days of rave, encapsulating the raw, euphoric energy that defined the era. The track opens with driving, punchy kick drums and crisp hi-hats, layered with a rolling bassline that evokes classic acid house vibes. The melodic lead, drenched in bright, staccato synth stabs, carries a trance-like quality, creating an atmospheric build-up that bursts into an infectious drop. The production showcases meticulous attention to detail with subtle reverb effects and expertly crafted filters that maintain dynamic flow throughout the track. 2. Amnesia: "Amnesia" takes a deeper, more introspective turn while still upholding the EP's rave essence. The track blends ethereal pads with a hypnotic, looping melody, reminiscent of early progressive trance. The bassline is sub-heavy yet smooth, complemented by crisp percussive elements that add rhythmic complexity. The use of delay and reverb effects on the synth lines creates a spacious, immersive soundscape. Production-wise, "Amnesia" demonstrates Genix's skill in balancing melodic elements with a solid, dancefloor-ready groove. 3. Dreams with James Dean: Perhaps the most emotionally charged track on the EP, "Dreams with James Dean" features soulful vocal chops layered over lush, resonant chord progressions. The track effortlessly fuses trance's emotive melodies with the rhythmic drive of house. The kick is warm and rounded, sitting perfectly in the mix alongside a groovy, syncopated bassline. The breakdown introduces a cinematic quality, with sweeping pads and a subtle crescendo that leads back into a euphoric drop. The production shines through in the clarity of each element, ensuring none are lost in the mix. 4. Rave Digger (Breaks Mix): This breaks interpretation of "Rave Digger" offers a refreshing twist, replacing the standard four-on-the-floor beat with intricate breakbeat patterns. The track retains the rave stabs and melodic motifs of the original but infuses them with a grittier, more underground feel. The breakbeat drums are punchy and well-layered, with snappy snares and rolling hi-hats that add dynamic movement. The use of glitch effects and chopped samples showcases Genix's experimental side, while the tight production ensures the track remains cohesive and energetic. Across the EP, Genix demonstrates a masterful grasp of modern production techniques. The sound design is rich and textured, with a balance of analog warmth and digital precision. EQing is meticulous, allowing each element its own space within the mix. Compression is used effectively to add punch without squashing dynamics, and the stereo field is thoughtfully utilized to create width and depth. The seamless blending of nostalgic rave elements with contemporary sounds speaks to Genix's deep understanding of both the history and future of electronic music. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

A growing talent on the label, Blake has amassed a captive audience in recent years owing to his uniquely playful and often breakbeat-driven sound. After debuting on Anjunadeep in March 2023 with the ‘High Fidelity EP’, Blake was quick to follow up with the ‘Eyes Ablaze EP’. The highly sought-after title track became an instant fan favourite after featuring on label compilation Anjunadeep 14. ‘Eyes Ablaze’ is Blake’s creative interpretation of Blue Foundation’s cult classic single ‘Eyes On Fire’, (a track prominently featured in 2008 film ‘Twilight’), and showcased Blake’s unusual artistic inspirations.

Blake made his Anjunadeep touring debut at Explorations Festival 2024, playing a two-hour set on the Splendor stage followed by a six-hour poolside b2b with label legend Jody Wisternoff, with whom Blake collaborated with to create 2024 single ‘BLAM’. His touring has since exploded, kicking off the year with a set at The Mothership in Auckland, New Zealand, followed by an appearance at Anjunadeep Open Air Dubai and all three stops on Anjunadeep’s debut Australia tour, touching down in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. He made a triumphant return to the Splendor stage at Anjunadeep Explorations 2025, delivering a standout set packed with original music. Alongside announcing his forthcoming LP, ‘From Sydney With Love’, Blake is set to embark on a multi-date album tour across Australia, taking place towards the end of August and throughout September. He will stop off in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane amongst other key cities, with an exciting hometown show booked for Civic Underground in Sydney.

Blake.08’s debut album is the culmination of 15 years’ worth of creative passion and a deep desire to bring happiness to people through music. Written and produced entirely in his home studio, it captures the emotional highs and lows of that journey alongside countless long nights chasing the feeling that the music was finally right. ‘From Sydney With Love’ is Blake’s tribute to the city and community that made him who he is, from the beaches and harbour to the winding roads of Sydney’s Royal National Park. A lifelong motorsport enthusiast, Blake’s love of fast drives and late-night cruises became a core part of the album’s energy and artistic direction. First introduced to Anjunabeats and later Anjunadeep through artists like Mat Zo and Above & Beyond, their BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes would accompany him on college trips, and in later life on night-time drives around the city. Featuring a range of collaborators such as Claxy, Nathan Ball, Seduna, Soschi and Gaz, Blake’s debut album is music designed for movement, whether driving or dancing. It’s emotionally charged, rhythmically driven, and reflective of a life lived in Sydney.

Blake Gilray was born in Maroubra, a beachside suburb of Sydney, and started producing music at a young age, first launching as one half of the duo Human Movement. In 2021, Blake decided to strike out on his own to produce breaks and electro as Blake.08, a moniker inspired by his beloved Roland TR-808 drum machine. Two years later, he made his label debut on Anjunadeep. While our relationship with Blake is still pretty fresh, he’s already made quite the impact. He’s released three EPs, several singles and two collaborations with Anjuna legends Jody Wisternoff and Qrion.

His debut album, ‘From Sydney With Love’, borrows its name from the title of the very first demo playlist Blake sent to us, and is the culmination of 15 years of creative passion. Written and produced entirely in his home studio, the album is a tribute to the city and community that made him who he is, from the beaches and harbour to the winding roads of Sydney’s Royal National Park that he is so fond of driving. Blake is something of a motorsports nut, and this creatively inspires a lot of his music.

His first releases as Blake.08 all feature artwork with cars on, and the particularly keen-eared among you will hear that in his Anjunadeep single ‘Star Sender’, you can hear a piece of dialogue from Japanese street-racing anime Initial D. Blake’s love of fast drives and late-night cruises became a core part of the energy and artistic direction of ‘From Sydney With Love’. Blake’s debut album is emotionally-charged, rhythmically-driven and designed for movement, whether on the dancefloor or behind the wheel…
“With ‘From Sydney With Love’ I set out to craft a sound that felt entirely my own, as free from outside influences as I could manage and rooted in the raw connection between rhythm and emotion. It’s music designed for movement, be it driving or dancing. I hope those who listen find themselves experiencing introspection and joy. Sydney is my city, it’s where I’ve moved through so many phases of life. Without Sydney, the culture, the people, my family, the beaches, the harbour…I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”
Blake will be taking his album on a tour around his home country.

Through tracks like ‘Higher State’ and even more recently, ‘Never Leave U’ and ‘Homelands’, Deep State label boss Grum has been affecting a return to his musical roots of late. Following that natural progression, the DJ/producer has revisited one of the tracks that drew him into the electronic music space in the first instance. To round out a truly flaming June, the Scot has given BT’s immortal ‘Godspeed’ a dazzlingly layered and sonically rich reimagining.

Spooling up the sub-bass and breakbeats, Grum begins to tease the floor with BT’s celestially haunting, female harmonies. Through echoing melodies and coastal atmospherics, he gives his rework an aerodynamic structure — tight, pulsing, and technologically intricate, yet one that’s every bit as much emotional and yearning. The restless rhythms of his breaks play off against shimmering digital textures, as its soaring tones deliver an anthemic hail to summers past … and future.

Everyone should have a ‘first time I heard ‘Godspeed’ story. Grum would love this will be yours! Find it here, and wherever quality music is sold or streamed.

[item value="10"] BT - Godspeed (Grum Remix) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Grum’s reimagining of BT’s timeless ‘Godspeed’ stands as a testament to both technical prowess and emotive resonance in electronic music production. Delving deep into the arrangement, Grum employs a meticulous layering approach, beginning with a robust foundation of sub-bass. This element isn’t just present to enhance low-end frequencies; it interacts dynamically with the breakbeat patterns, creating a compelling rhythmic structure that anchors the track. The breakbeats themselves are crafted with precision, featuring crisp snares, syncopated hi-hats, and subtle percussive fills that inject energy while maintaining a balanced flow. Grum’s choice to retain BT’s ethereal, female vocal harmonies adds a haunting, celestial quality. These harmonics are treated with reverb and delay effects, creating an expansive, atmospheric depth that contrasts beautifully with the track’s tighter rhythmic elements. Melodically, Grum introduces echoing synth lines that ripple across the sonic landscape, underpinned by coastal atmospherics that evoke imagery of vast, open spaces. This not only gives the track an aerodynamic structure but also adds an emotional dimension, blending technological intricacy with heartfelt yearning. The synth textures are meticulously sculpted using modulation techniques, filter sweeps, and automation that evolve throughout the track, ensuring continuous movement and interest. In terms of production values, Grum’s rework shines through its high-definition sound design. The mix is clean and spacious, with each element occupying its own frequency range, allowing clarity and punch. The dynamics are carefully controlled, with strategic use of compression to maintain energy without sacrificing the natural ebb and flow of the arrangement. The climax of the track is a masterclass in tension and release. Grum navigates the build-up with rising synth arpeggios, subtle pitch shifts, and escalating percussive intensity, culminating in a euphoric drop that feels both inevitable and exhilarating. This superb climax serves as a powerful nod to summers past and future, encapsulating the nostalgic yet forward-looking spirit of the piece. Ultimately, Grum’s rendition of ‘Godspeed’ is more than just a remix—it’s a reimagined journey through sound, showcasing his ability to blend technical sophistication with emotional storytelling. #PureGold indeed. #LoveIT [/content]

This collection features fresh reworks from Argentinian producer Ezequiel Arias, Brazilian producer Maty Owl, and recent Explorations signing Klangsberg.

First up, rising progressive house talent Ezequiel Arias makes his mark on ‘Mui’. Jody and James Grant premiered the remix during their performance at Anjunadeep Open Air Mexico, where it received a fantastic reception. Ezequiel's remix stands out for its intricate sound design, blending arpeggios with a driving bassline to deliver a captivating progress house rework that demonstrates why he’s been championed by Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Eelke Kleijn.

Brazilian producer Maty Owl brings his melodic house touch to 'The Sky Below’. ‘Atmosphere’ and ‘mood’: in relation to Solarstone’s upcoming (May 2025) artist LP, ‘innermost’, they’re going to be two descriptives you’ll be hearing a lot of.

Overturing the album itself, opening its singles account (and indeed the first track Solarstone completed for ‘innermost’) is ‘shivelight’. With it, he affords a first look/listen at a longplayer that differs in structure, tone and feel from any that have come before it.

The single is Richard’s musical encapsulation of the shivelight effect, the one created when shafts of sunlight filter through trees, creating a dappled or shimmering result.

Shadowed by his pads and chords, it opens to deep, resonant baritone guitar strums, which callback to the hook of ‘Falling’ - Julee Cruise’s timeless Twin Peaks theme. Wistful sub-melodies hauntingly echo the call of its siren song harmonies, while breakbeats reinforce the track’s sombre etherealism. As it progresses, delicate fleeting notes break through its otherworldly shade, bringing the track an innate feeling of ‘hope being kept alive’.

Today’s the day ‘shivelight’ sees the light. You can find it through all the finest sales and streaming platforms ‘here’

[item value="10"]Solarstone - shivelight [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Richard’s latest single, "Shivelight," is a masterfully crafted sonic experience that transcends mere auditory pleasure, diving deep into the technical prowess and intricate production values that define it. Drawing inspiration from the natural phenomenon of shivelight—those radiant shafts of sunlight piercing through foliage—Richard translates this visual poetry into an immersive auditory journey. The track’s foundation is built upon meticulously layered pads and lush chord progressions that create a shadowy, ambient backdrop. This sets the stage for the striking entrance of deep, resonant baritone guitar strums. The tonal quality of the guitar, rich with harmonics and subtle reverb, evokes a nostalgic callback to the iconic hook of Julee Cruise’s "Falling," yet reimagined within a modern trance framework. Sub-melodies ripple throughout the composition, crafted with precision to echo the haunting allure of siren song harmonies. These motifs weave seamlessly with ethereal vocal chops, processed with granular synthesis techniques that provide both texture and depth. The breakbeats are meticulously programmed, their crisp transients and dynamic range reinforcing the track’s somber yet luminous ethereal quality. As "Shivelight" evolves, Richard introduces fleeting melodic arpeggios that glimmer like rays of sunlight breaking through dense canopy—a nod to the track’s conceptual inspiration. The careful modulation of these notes, combined with strategic filtering and reverb automation, injects an innate feeling of hope and vitality. Clocking in at 138 BPM, this breaks-trance fusion is adorned with Balearic influences—its rhythmic structure and melodic phrasing exude a coastal, sun-drenched warmth. The production’s clarity is impeccable; each element occupies its distinct space within the stereo field, thanks to advanced mixing techniques like mid/side processing and meticulous EQ sculpting. "Shivelight" is versatile in its application—whether as an atmospheric opener, a euphoric closer, or a hypnotic centerpiece in an adventurous DJ’s trance set. Its hypnotic, moody layers and exquisite production techniques reflect Richard’s ability to blend technical excellence with emotive resonance, making it an undeniable #PureGold masterpiece. Dutch DJ and producer Nordfold brings us the Pathways EP.

First arriving on Anjunadeep in April 2020 with double A-side ‘Venus / Trondheim’, Nordfold has been a consistent label staple this decade with four other solo releases and numerous compilation appearances to his name. His music has earned him spots on Anjunadeep compilations 11, 12, 13 and 15 with EP title track ‘Pathways’ selected by James Grant and Jody Wisternoff for this year’s edition.

This year, Nordfold remixed Simon Roth’s ‘Ultraviolet’, appearing on the second volume of new compilation series ‘Movement’ accompanied by a livestream filmed along the beautiful coastline of Cape Town. In November he joins Anjunadeep for the London stop on our Autumn 2024 club tour alongside the likes of Qrion, Rezident and Ezequiel Arias.

Nordfold’s ‘Pathways EP’ lands November 8 on Anjunadeep.

Bristol dance music legend Jody Wisternoff has announced his highly-anticipated third studio album, 'Welcome To My World'. The announcement arrives alongside the release of the album's lead single 'Mui'; a collaboration with James Grant, PROFF, and Takeshi Furukawa, featuring the evocative vocals of Siobhan Wilson.

Wisternoff, a pivotal figure in the UK's rave scene since the early '90s, is renowned for his keen ear for talent and his role in shaping the sound of the Anjunadeep label, where he co-curates the chart-topping annual compilation series.

His career began back in 1986 at the age of 13 as a finalist in the DMC World DJ Championship, and he quickly became a mainstay of the UK rave scene, performing at legendary venues like the Lakota club in Bristol and for iconic promoters such as Fantazia and Universe.

A chance meeting with Nick Warren in a record store led to the formation of Way Out West, the pioneering duo behind several UK-charting singles and the UK dance number one hit 'Mindcircus'. Their 1997 self-titled album garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success, and 20 years later, their Anjunadeep album 'Tuesday Maybe', became a firm favourite among the Anjuna fanbase and saw popular reworks from electronic music royalty including Guy J and Ben Böhmer.

Since then, Jody has released two solo studio albums on Anjunadeep, including the acclaimed 'Nightwhisper', which has garnered over 20 million streams and received support from BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM Chill. Across his distinguished catalogue, Wisternoff has amassed over 70 million streams, with his tracks earning praise from industry heavyweights like Eelke Kleijn, John Digweed, Nora En Pure, Chicane, and more.

Now, on new album 'Welcome To My World', Jody Wisternoff dives deeper into his extensive musical journey, and reflects the eclectic influences that have shaped his career. Across its 14 tracks, the album features his signature blend of emotive, intricate melodies and dynamic production techniques, punctuated by his trademark breaks.

'Mui', the lead single, is a fresh interpretation of award winning composer and conductor Takeshi Furukawa's 'Shutdown', originally composed for the Planet of Lana video game. After hearing Siobhan Wilson's soulful vocals on the track, Jody, James Grant, and PROFF were inspired to create their unique version, which first appeared on Anjunadeep 15 and quickly became a fan favourite.

The album also features standout tracks such as 'Tales From Beyond' with Nox Vahn and Natascha Polke, 'Rain' featuring Sian Evans, and 'Ease Yourself', all of which showcase Wisternoff's refined production skills that have earned him support from the likes of SiriusXM Chill and BBC Radio 1.

Jody Wisternoff has also unveiled a global tour spanning 29 dates across North America, the UK, Asia, and Australia, with stops in major cities including London, New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney. Tickets are on sale here.

'Welcome To My World' will be released on December 6 via Anjunadeep.

Are we looking at the final artist album from John Askew?? It is after all his first since his ‘Z List Uber Star’, which is currently closing in on its 20th anniversary. Add to that the duality of ‘A Room Full Of Pros & Cons’s title; the faintly Last Supper-ish lean of its cover, not to mention some flagrant nose-thumbing of LP conventions, and, well, the question could at least be asked.

As with so much in life though there’s more to that than meets the eye. Between John’s production schedule (breakneck), day to day roles in artist management, international touring (both as a DJ and live act), label management, event organising and his ‘open-all-hours’ industry rep, the man’s had his hands way full. Lesser wonder then that it’s taken him five years to close all the ‘P’s and curve all the ‘C’s on ‘A Room Full Of Pros & Cons’.

The title’s John’s summation of half a lifetime’s worth of observations and experiences, garnered at the business end of the electronic music industry. One that hopscotched him from England’s unchained free party scene to Ministry of Sound resident, and from being managed by the biggest agencies to, himself, managing legendary names. All the while mind you, refusing to compromise on absolutely anything … ever. That’s always going to leave a mark, all of which has been poured into this album.

In ways big and small, subtle or big-print, ‘A Room Full Of Pros & Cons’s track titles (‘Running In The Dark’, ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’, ‘Take A Breath’, ‘When Darkness Comes’, ‘I Want Your Soul’ and ‘Afterburner’ to mention a few) each speak to its theme. Many are fueled by John’s signature sound, one as dependably immediate, tenacious, and floorward-thinking as any DJ from his bloc. Key to their potency is the intuitively high-wire balancing act Askew strikes between darkness and light, the subtle and the visceral, always ensuring there’s nuance and alchemic colour (or shadow!) in every floor roar.

Others tracks project their power through alternate studio methods. ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’ (featuring singer Lyonheart) is a soul searing, breakbeat scattered affair, while ‘Grave Digger’ features a cavernous feel and apocalyptic polemic (voiced by Askew), straight from the darkest ‘Cons’ corner of the ‘Room’. Regarding that “flagrant convention nose-thumbing”, ’00.00’ sees John slide some doors with the album’s originally envisioned overture. Now track 5, it forms a brilliant palate-cleanse, ahead of the transcendental ‘Take A Breath’, (a collaboration with Sikh singer, songwriter and philanthropist, Manika Kaur) and the instantly infectious hook of ‘Running In The Dark’.

Artists of John’s ilk don’t tend to have vocal muses, and it’s debatable whether Ohio-born/Nashville-based singer Shelby Merry fills that role. As you cross John’s Room’ though, vocally, lyrically and significantly she features three times, each track with its own individual tone and something-to-say tale.

So, if this does prove to be John’s last LP hurrah, what’s he leaving us with? Well at the very least, 15 brilliantly honed pieces of music, fused together to create a cohesive, journeying bravura, that’ll delight his diehards, while drawing others to the flame. Half industry cheer, half-cautionary tale, ‘A Room Full Of Pros & Cons’ arrives on physical and digital formats Sept 27. Now … don’t say you weren’t warned.  FIND HERE

01. Kate Morgan - Pretty Delusions (Myon Remix)
02. Kate Morgan - Pretty Delusions (Myon Extended Remix)

With only a handful of releases to her name, (‘Pretty Delusions’ representing the second), through the left eye Kate Morgan’s a newcomer. Through the right? She’s amongst electronic music’s most prolific collaborators, having written, co-written and provided vocal aspects for some of its biggest names. Amongst them are The Chainsmokers, blackbear, Cher Lloyd, ILLENIUM, ZHU, DVBBS, Lena, and Gryffin, while she’s also scored a Dance Radio #1, with her co-write of Anabel Englund’s “Midnight Rapture”.

RIDE boss Myon sees her more through the left; an artist in her own right, at the earliest stages of her career, and with talent to burn. Having fallen for ‘Pretty Delusions’ within days of its spring release, he offered to lend it a remix-hand.

Never losing sight of “Pretty Delusions” folk-flecked, guitar-tinged hometown reflections, Myon’s given it both the canniest and most heartfelt of floor treatments. Charged by a skipping breakbeat flow, undulant bass, and big sky melodies, it sonically patches a degree of the original’s days-gone-by lament with some future-perfect feels.
Talking about the thoughts behind ‘Pretty Delusions’, Kate says: “as an artist my journey started playing local open mics and busking, and for a long time I wanted to run from that place. I suppose that represents some of my own “pretty delusions”. I always thought ‘happy’ would be another place, or level of success. As I’ve gotten older though, no matter where I go or what I do, part of me still feels like that teenager, desperate to know more of myself and the world. Stepping back into releasing my own music I wanted to touch base with that girl, and I sure am proud of this pretty place I call home.”
RIDE hits its 125th release in style, with Myon’s killer rework of ‘Pretty Delusions’. You can find it here from today …HERE
