Progressive Review: Various Artists - Anjunabeats Rising 18 out on Anjunabeats

J Ribbon, maybe and Yeadon make their label debut on Anjunabeats Rising 18.

Anjunabeats Rising has introduced over 40 new acts to the label since its inception in 2021, including Alex Sonata & TheRio, Amy Wiles, Leena Punks, Naz and many more. The series is now back for its 18th volume, with new music from emerging UK producers J Ribbon, maybe and Yeadon.

Progressive house producer Johnny Paul Newman signed to Pete Tong’s renowned label FFRR Records when he was just 15. Now releasing under his new alias J Ribbon, the 20-year old is already making waves in the Ibiza club circuit as a Hï Ibiza resident DJ opening for Eric Prydz this summer, alongside upcoming shows at Ushuaïa opening for Armin van Buuren.

J Ribbon is also one half of dance duo Rathbone Place, whose 2021 single 'Be Free' saw support from Mark Knight, Jax Jones, Sigala, Bakermat and Martin Garrix, as well as BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Annie Mac, Arielle Free and more.

London-based artist Harry Mabbutt, aka maybe, drops his hypnotic debut release ‘Intoxicated’ on Anjunabeats Rising 18. The eclectic DJ and producer played a head-turning set at our Anjunabeats Summer Social in London last month alongside label favourites Darren Tate and Oliver Smith, and we’re excited to see what’s next from the burgeoning talent.

Manchester-based artist Yeadon boasts a string of successful releases on Stress Records, Global Underground, UV and his own label 10 Steps North. Inspired by late 90’s and early 00’s trance records, he’s achieved several Beatport Top 10 singles in recent years and amassed millions of streams across his catalogue.
