1-Lunde Bros – ‘Jump Up’
2-Lunde Bros – ‘Jump Up’ (David Vrong Remix)

First heard as part of the pair’s ‘Mutants Presents’ compilation, Lunde Bros now release the spirited and wickedly catchy ‘Jump Up’ on 23rd May. The Scandinavian pair work closely with Mutants Records, and it seems the ideal platform for them to display their versatility and creativity as producers.

‘Jump Up’ is a fun-filled fusion of sounds; opening with a samba-inspired drum progression, the track’s memorable riff runs throughout as the beat intensifies. Vocal snips of “everybody “ gather speed alongside the irresistibly funky rhythm – unparalleled dancefloor groove. Each electro-tinged layer slowly unwinds as the track falls away leaving only the pattern of drums, mimicking its opening.

Alongside the original comes a wonderfully slick remix from David Vrong. Taking the tempo down a notch, it focuses on expanding each build-up, adding intensity and giving the track a synth-heavy twist.

Energised and set to fill dancefloors as it drops, ‘Jump Up’ is a gloriously well-rounded piece of production from the talented Lunde Bros. Listen and do as it urges - jump up!

Release Date: 23rd May 2014

Dimitri Kechagias review: The quality house record label Mutatnts records headed from John Dahlback's strikes back. The brilliant Swedish duo Lunde Bros rock the international dancefloors with their hit record Jump UP. The original mix is an energetic electro house stormer with great techy funky groove, electrified freaked out bassslines and fantastic attractive rhythm that engage you straight away. The main melodic hook is absolutely infectious and is pretty hard to resist its impact on the dancefloor!  The MC style  vocal sample will definitely maximise the pleasure so don't hesitate to drop Jump Up if you wish to watch your crowd loosing it and go mental. Jump Up has definitely that Latin touch as well so you can expect many djs to play it in their Ibiza sets. Very unique and fresh anthem that brings back the real house spirit that is all about endless fun, funk and groove and less about too much noise. David Vrong is on remix duties and he moves on the same electro house direction with sparkling alive and kicking beats, funky sexy electro house basslines and fantastic melody that hooks your mind and you just can not forget it easily! Massive breakdown with intense build up towards the full on crowd rocking and shaking climax. This summer everybody JUMP UP with Lunde Bros! Love iT

Mutants second mix compilation passes the baton to fast-rising Scandinavian stars Lunde Bros…

We’ve recently spoken at length about how Mutants is developing it’s own musical family. As a label it has, over the past eighteen months, continued to support and develop some of the most exciting artists in the world.

Now the label takes things to the next stage.

Marking a unique first, head honcho John Dahlback (fresh from the debut Mutants Pre-sents… last year) steps to one side to offer the ultimate platform to Scandinavia’s Lunde Bros: a mix compilation.

But hang on!

This is no ordinary compilation. In a move of sublime creativity the brothers have set about providing no less than 6 original tracks and remixes of their own material, which cleverly blurs the line between compilation and artist album. “Opportunities like this don’t come along all that often,” they explain, “So we really wanted to seize the moment and provide fans and listeners an element of unique originality. There’s so many tools to digitally mix music, not to mention platforms to present or distribute it on, we really felt it important we set the album apart from the crowd.”

I couldn’t think of anyone better to hand the ‘Mutants Presents…’ series over to,” furthers label head John Dahlback, “When you invite people to take on a compilation pro-ject you’re involvement kinda ends there; the level of creativity and overall sound is a re-flection of them so you have to step back and let the artist(s) do their thing. In this instance just reading the tracklist alone demonstrates how much effort the Lunde Bros put into the project. I couldn’t be prouder of this second instalment. ‘Presents…’ is going to be an ongoing series and the brothers have undoubtedly set the bar very high!”

Just as with John’s debut offering the compilation will come as unmixed (yep, that includes all those exclusives), plus the mixed version itself. Bargainous!

Newcastle's Felix Leiter returns with a club smash...

One of dance music's greatest strengths is the sheer volume of material out there. Jump on sites like Beatport or iTunes and hundreds, if not thousands, of new tracks go live every week. Some are, of course, very good and some very bad, yet there's no denying the vol-ume of choice. But there aren't that many bonafide classics, tracks that transcend a period in time and attain truly legendary status; these are few and far between. One such tune that qualifies for such an accolade is 2000's 'Finally' by Kings of Tomorrow, although it's hard to believe it's 13 years old, which is why Newcastle's Felix Leiter has decided to re-record and re-title it with a modern day take and is now set to captivate and bewitch a whole new generation of clubbers. "I wanted to re-imagine it for the modern dancefloors I'm playing to," explains Felix, "To inject my own harder, melodic edge and bring it bang up to date."

Enter Penny Foster, a brilliant vocalist who Felix has worked with before. "The key to get-ting the track right was the vocals and I knew Penny would be perfect," Felix continues, "I needed someone with an exceptional voice to carry this off and do it justice and Penny re-ally stepped up."

Flipping the title to the more simple 'Paradise' the track is indeed a monster of truly eu-phoric proportions; the sort or record that has end of set written all over it. When the crowds call for 'one more tune', expect this to be the 'go to' for quite a few of the planet's professional DJ population over the coming months. Even if we do say so ourselves, it's a bit special, which Felix had more than an inkling of in recent road tests. "I played it to over 5000 at the Mint Festival and the roof nearly came off the tent!," he says, "I know paradise is different things to different people, but standing there and seeing that reaction from such a massive crowd came fittingly close for me!"

Dimitri Kechagias review:  The exceptional and quickly rising UK based dj & producer Felix Leiter lands on the top house imprint Mutant records with his 2nd release and this time he offer us a slice of tasty uplifting Paradise. The brand new single features the stand out and very powerful vocals by Penny Foster who enhanced with her voice the whole track. Paradise is an uplifting progressive house at its most Swedish house friendly. Bouncy beats, rough basslines and uplifting synths for the very melodic and hands in the air climax that will bring eargasms for sure. The first breakdown is really good with rock guitar riffs that create a moody atmosphere for Penny's voice to come in and shine like a rainbow after the rain. Her voice has that retro romantic quality reminding you something but you can not figure out what is it exactly. The 2nd breakdown is equally heartfelt with that indie rock edge to keep it interesting and when the drop arrives better call your friends to come over cause its time for party hard nights. Paradise is clean cut, polished and ready for club and radio action as well. Love iT

Two of the most exciting names in dance come together for a rather special Mutant’s exclusive...

Whilst the debate about the ethics of file sharing in the modern digital age continues to rage it’s very easy to forget it can be an equal force for good and a useful part of the creative process, of which Kid Massive and Disfunktion’s ‘Amrock’ is a prime example; had the technology not been available there’s little chance the track could have been made. For, although they’d been friends for the best part of five years, the two hail from entirely different countries.

Kid Massive - aka Ben Pedersen - is Danish by birth, but now resides in London, whilst Disfunktion’s Bart and Mike are from Amsterdam. Between them they have a near complete CV that takes in all the world’s most important labels, charts and artists; think of any titanic dance brand or DJ and odds on they will have worked, produced or remixed with them in some way. Such exposure doesn’t come without demand though, which in the case of Amrock further compounded the logistics of its production as KM explains, “We agreed to do a collaboration off the back of our long-standing friendship, but didn’t realise what a labour of love it was going to turn out to be! We’re both fortunate to have DJ careers that take us around the globe, between that, our other studio commitments and being in different countries we were really up against it. Were it not for modern technology and being able to zap files back and forth between each other there’s no way ‘Amrock’ could have happened!”

The resulting tune is, as you’d expect from a collaboration of such pedigree, really rather special indeed; one of those rarities where the bass line is every bit as infectious as the melody, which is teased into the track as it drives toward a climactic breakdown of energetic beauty. “In hindsight being in different studios in different countries worked really well,” expand Disfunktion, “By sending it back and forth we were both able to tweak and feed off each others work. Be it the bass, kick or all important riff the track was continually refined over a period of months till we knew we were happy and ready to Amrock it!”

Dimitri Kechagias review: The awesome record label Mutants continue to rock with another excellent release not to be missed. Get ready for the collaboration we all expecting to get and bring some love to the dancefloor. The always on great shape Kid Massive does his best to impress along with Disfunktion who rock the world with whatever they are touching and tweeking around. Amrock has the cool unforgettable synthy melody in the breakdown, the big epic hands in the air synths and the massive electro climax that is playful packed with funky twists and turns. You don't want to stop to move and shake all around the clock with this monster anthem in the making. Club anthem alert. Love IT
