Today, 60.000 visitors from 56 different countries are celebrating a sold-out edition of Mysteryland Netherlands. During this 21st edition of the Dutch electronic music, culture and arts festival, 21 stages are hosted with a roster consisting of world renowned headliners, international artists, talented up-and-comers and of course, unexpected adventures.

If you like art and electronic dance music, Mysteryland is your playground. Artists such as Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Bass Modulators and an all-encompassing amount of additional artists represent almost every style within electronic dance music. The program also features a significant amount of exposure for local, upcoming talent.

Although music plays (no pun intended, but welcomed) a large role at Mysteryland, art is equally as alluring and extensive. Over the years, the festival has focused more on a broad range of art disciplines: interactive installations, high-end art pieces, spiritual sessions, abstract performances, and a whimsical art route with plenty of space to get lost in the moment. Mysteryland is one big quest – exploring new things is of the utmost importance.

Mysteryland started in 1993 and is the world’s longest running dance music festival. The festival focuses on diverse culture, imaginative art, en thralling music, intercontinental cuisine, and earth-friendly sustainability. The festival brings their visitors to inspiring and surprising worlds where anything is possible. In 2011, Mysteryland expanded internationally to a picturesque region in Chile. In May 2014, the festival embarked on a nomadic journey to the USA to launch the first-ever Mysteryland on the iconic Bethel Woods grounds – the landscape where the ’69 Woodstock was held. Mysteryland is one of the most sustainable festivals in the world and belongs to ID&T.

This year’s inaugural Mysteryland USA left a lasting impression on the fans, artists, staff and media in attendance. The scenic beauty of the grounds and the historical significance of music culture resonated throughout the hills and in everyone’s hearts. Relive the magic of Mysteryland USA with the official aftermovie and get psyched for next year.

Mysteryland USA had countless special moments but instead of waiting for the drop, “it was about an overall experience rather than a waiting game for that ‘winner takes all’ epic moment. Every moment was epic,” described Noise Porn.

Mysteryland USA thanks all the fans, creative and music artists bringing their talents to share, and the hard-working crew making it all possible to bring this magical experience and unforgettable first edition to the USA.

Looking forward to #MLUSA2015!!

Mysteryland USA Artist Quotes:

“Even though the music is different and we don't really know if they would appreciate this kind of music. I think the vibe is the same and the reason why we are here is the same and it is about the community and the love and the revolution of kids expressing themselves through music with music.” –BRILLZ

"It's an honor for me to close out Mysteryland. In American music history this is hallowed ground. I think electronic music has a lot in common with the spirit of rock and roll and what Woodstock had going on at the time. We are kind of the new kids on the block and this music isn't accepted by everyone so we are still kind of getting into pop culture and I think its appropriate that this festival is here and kicking down the door.” –KASKADE

"I love music festivals... but I'm much more interested in festivals that can integrate music and arts, music and culture and music and spirutiality." -MOBY

"To come out here and play on Woodstock grounds, first year ever headlining on the main stage there's nothing more iconic. [Mysteryland] is one of those festivals that holds down the legacy of dance music it's been around for so many years. It's been part of what we do for so long. It kinda makes sense to bring the tradition over here to America. The festival grounds of Woodstock, that's pretty epic." -STEVE AOKI

Mysteryland USA in the Press:

[Mysteryland USA’s] musical selection also reflected the festival’s philosophy of inclusion and discovery. Aside from the now radio-familiar names such as Steve Aoki and Kaskade, who both headlined the towering Main Stage, plenty of electronic music sub-genres and niche sounds could be heard pumping throughout the grounds.” – Billboard

“Mysteryland US creates a community, instead of a crowd, during inaugural event.” -DancingAstronaut

"It wasn't just music, camping, partying, production, community or history; it was about all of it, and so much more. Everyone had their own journey... The magic of these moment surround us all; there was no one else on the planet that was apart of what a 20-year running festival and 45 years of magical festival grounds could write to history." - Daily Star

“Mysteryland’s first time in the States certainly made an impression and left its footprint in dance-music history.” – DJ Times

“What made Mysteryland so enchanting were the positive vibes, attention to detail and downright amazing music on every single stage of the festival.” – EDM.com

“Mysteryland was where we continued to define the electronic music culture as a place for peace, love, unity, and respect.” – EDM Tunes

“Mysteryland made its US debut this Memorial Day Weekend, setting a new standard for the music festival scene in America as we know it. [It] indeed pushed EDM forward this inaugural year, executing a safe, sustainable community for a uniquely immersive sensory experience.” -Elite Daily

“It was whimsical, powerful, endlessly creative and held at a gorgeous location — Bethel Woods, the site of the 1969 Woodstock.” – Rolling Stone

“When experiencing the entire day across the grounds you can't help but feel it. This sense of history, community and love for the music was present in everyone you talked to.“ - Spotify

“The wonder and pride of Mysteryland was its variety of incredibly produced, well-thought-out stages and activities throughout the grounds.” – Thump

“Together with the amazing stages and awesome scenery, it all made a perfect fantasy setting.” – Ultimate Festival Guide

“Mysteryland allows its guests to become part of a truly interactive environment, not knowing what exactly is going to happen next. You can meet people from the same place that you’re from, or from the other side of the globe. You can hear new music from acts you might not have heard of, or you can check out a favorite performer in a unique new setting.” – Upstate Live

Yesterday is history. Today is a gift. Tomorrow is a mystery.

The full program of Mysteryland Holland is announced.  Earlier mentioned artists such as Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Loco Dice, and Art Department are supplemented with newly announced artists like Kaskade, Umek, Pan-Pot, Henrik Schwarz (live), Blawan, Sadar Bahar, Bass Modulators, Pendulum DJ Set & Verse, Olivier Weiter, Julian Jordan, Black Coffee, Le Youth, DIO, to name but a few.

The 22 stages of mystery

Mysteryland’s line-up is an eclectic blend of artists that represent every nook and cranny of electronic dance music. If you like it, love it, hate it, or dream of it – we most likely offer it in our massive and diverse line-up! Internationally acclaimed artists along with newcomers will feed your musical appetite. Whether you’re into big room house, afro-beats from cheerful tropical acts, banging techno, heart-pounding hardstyle, funky jazz, bass heavy dubstep, underground house AND everything in-between – we have you covered! CLR, Hyte, Red Bull Studio Live, and Studio 80 present a promising techno program of talent and living legends. The indoor main stage, 'The Big Top,' is hosted by Don’t Let Daddy Know and programmed with big room house. Q-dance and Qult will feature harder styles that will get your body moving. Resist provides a roster of trap, bass music, and DnB. Other collaborations include L'Afrique, The Amazing Agency, and Bollywood Bar – they will take hip hop, R&B, African house, UK house, garage, deep house, and soulful house to the ears and hearts of our visitors.

Endless paths and whimsical hidden gems

Mysteryland is one big discovery trip. Besides the musical party, Mysteryland also offers tons of creative, artistic and cultural pleasures. For example, Kate Raudenbush, an American artist who is best known of her installations at Burning Man, made an exclusive creation for Mysteryland. The magic forest called ‘Sprookjesbos’ is richly filled with illuminating art, bizarre acts, little surprises, and quaint eateries. On the other side of the forest, is an oasis of…pineapples! In the Pineapple Paradise Caribbean, acts such as Trafassi, DJ Moortje, and Kuenta i Tambu will take the stage.

Stunning visual landscapes amid music and revelry

For the first time at Mysteryland, a comprehensive literary program of leading writers will be presented (more details soon). Furthermore, you can clean your chakras at the Healing Garden and dance to the sounds of world music with the grass between your toes at Totem. Just when you thought you’d seen it all, you can go crooning at the Crooning Jazz Club, get crazy with geishas in Owari No Nai, or win a gig as an “overnight” DJ at Club Godverdomme.

Collaboration with Red Bull Studios and Kunstbende

At Mysteryland, we know talent has no age number. The festival has increasingly added fresh up-and-comers to the line-up and has partnerships with the Red Bull Studios, Studio 80, and Kunstbende. Artists who have already earned their creds, choose a talent. Three acts will play at the Red Bull Studios Live and Studio 80 stage. The winner of the Kunstbende 2013 (a famous Dutch variety talent show) opens the main stage.

Good beats and delicious eats

Tasty food is the essential fuel for a day and night of dancing. At Mysteryland, you can enjoy a variety of savoury cuisine and flavourful beverages that meet every dietary need - gluten-free, lactose-free, fair trade, vegan, organic, and vegetarian delights. We are also happy to announce a Mysteryland first: a fine dining restaurant, headed by top chef Jonathan Karpatios. He cooks exclusively with products from the Haarlemmermeer region and many of its home grown delicacies.

We are green

In the past years we have made great progress in the realm of greening our event and are proud of our Industry Green certification - which we received for our sustainable efforts and involvement to date. This certification was specially developed by Julie's Bicycle, an organization devoted to helping large events become more sustainable. This prize is the highest recognition for sustainability within the creative, art, music, and theatre industry. This year, Mysteryland again invests in sustainable efforts such as CO2 emission reduction along with other major contributions to Mother Nature.

MYSTERYLAND USA TO GO CASHLESS WITH INTELLITIX AT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND FESTIVAL

The Electronic Music Culture & Arts Festival will be the first fully cashless multi-day music festival in North America

Billboard Exclusive: Mysteryland USA Set to Become First Cashless Multi-Day Music Festival in North America

Mysteryland USA, the international music and arts festival taking place this Memorial Day weekend at New York’s iconic Bethel Woods Center For The Arts – home to the legendary 1969 Woodstock Festival – will break new ground as its inaugural U.S. event will be North America’s first cashless multi-day music festival.

ID&T, whose company is also behind mega events such as TomorrowWorld and Sensation, has engaged the world’s leading RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) access control and cashless payment providers Intellitix to deploy their cashless payment system, IntelliPay, across the entire festival site.

Each of the expected 20,000 attendees, eager to see headliners Kaskade and Steve Aoki, plus a myriad of other globally renowned DJs, will be issued a Mysteryland wristband, embedded with an RFID chip, which will be the only currency accepted by vendors and merchandisers on-site across the festival.

Customers can add funds to their account pre-event, set up automatic top-ups and, crucially, receive refunds automatically on any remaining balance post-event. There will also be top up stations available across the festival site, accepting credit cards, debit cards and cash.

Spokesperson ID&T/Mysteryland, comments: “While this is the first ever U.S. Mysteryland, we have had sister events taking place in the Netherlands and Chile for over 20 years.  We’re known for continually pushing creative and technical boundaries, so the introduction of cashless payments was a natural next step.”

“It will significantly advance the fan experience by improving security, drastically cutting wait times for food & beverages, and eliminating theft and fraud. We are the first major electronic music festival to go completely cashless in the U.S. and see this as the future of all large-scale events.”

Intellitix’ Intellipay system, which will be used at the festival, is also proven to increase vendor sales by between 15% – 30% by speeding up queuing times and eliminating the need to carry and count large sums of cash.   It is certified as the world’s most secure closed loop cashless payment system, awarded the Common Criteria EAL3+ rating in 2013 which puts it into an elite group of IT products including Apple, Microsoft and IBM.

Serge Grimaux, CEO of Intellitix, comments: “This is the year when cashless payment hits the mainstream, as proven by major festivals such as Mysteryland USA who are embracing the technology and the benefits it can bring all parties. Festivals in Europe have been innovating through introducing RFID in VIP and backstage applications for the past few seasons and are now moving toward a fully cashless event.  It is fantastic to be working with the Mysteryland team, who have the vision to bring this technology to the North American market on such a grand scale.”

Mysteryland, the world’s longest-running festival, today unveils the first part of the festival line-up for the Netherlands, with a staggering array of music, art, acts, food, décor and theater and an amazing  mix of major DJs and underground artists. These include big names like Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Loco Dice, Chris Liebing, ISH & Dadara and Kate Raudenbush. Mysteryland will be kicking up a storm on August 23rd at the former Floriade site in Hoofddorp. Ticket sales start at 10 am (CET) on Saturday, April 5th

Mysteryland Exclusive – World no. 1 DJ Hardwell!

Hardwell, the world’s number one DJ, will be performing exclusively at this year’s Mysteryland and he’ll be bringing the festival to a resounding and spectacular climax. And of course, Mysteryland regular and party king Steve Aoki simply has to be there after his legendary closing set at last year’s festival. Mysteryland can also confirm that Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Nervo, Sander van Doorn and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano will all be there for the party. This year, Mysteryland has three stages offering a wide range of techno, tech-house and deep-house, offered by the likes of Loco Dice, Chris Leibing, Joris Voorn, Art Department and Ben Sims.

Traffasi in a Tropical Mood

If that’s not enough, Mysteryland has the amazing Yellow Claw, who teamed up with Frans Bauer last year to bring down the house at the Heineken Starclub.  And for those who want something with a heavier beat, dubstep demon Rusko and hardstyle heroes Frontliner and Noisecontrollers are on the Q Dance program. Or if you’re looking for something fresh, famous Caribbean act Traffasi will be laying down tunes live from a tropical pineapple island, while The Flexican & Sef will be adding a hip hop beats flavor to the nights entertainment.

Creative line-up more diverse than ever

Crazy acts, surreally-lit trees, obscure figures, maze-like routes, street theater, leading artists are just some of the visual and audial adventures Mysteryland is offering visitors this year. The art route is even bigger this year and thanks to popular demand The Healing Garden will once again be taking festival-goers to a higher plane. On top of that, we have Owari No Nai, a Japanese area full of Geishas gone wild and enough bad behavior to last a lifetime. Mysteryland has also hired world famous artists ISH and Dadara for what is set to be a fascinating joint work of art, while light artist Joris Strijbos will be experimenting with the latest mind-blowing lighting effects. Elsewhere, power-chick Kate Raudenbush – famous for her amazing installations at Burning Man – is creating something truly special for this year’s Mysteryland. And DJ, artist, pointer expert and living work of art Steven de Peven has been given his very own area to go wild in. To top all off, we also have a Boomfanfare, a Bollywood bar with swinging afro-disco and a Crooning Jazz Club.

Tasty International Eats

Mysteryland is a big believer in giving its partying guests great food and drink and this year is no different. Guests can choose from a dizzying array of organic, local, fair trade, vegetarian, vegan, gluten, and lactose-free snack and meals. Of course festival goers can grab some fast-food snacks like the famous Dutch croquet-in-a-bun or a delicious plate of pearl barley risotto. But it might be a lot more fun to pop over to the plastic terrace of the Microwave-bar and grab something that’s never been near a microwave, or pick one the many special beers on offer at beer garden. And there’s a Healthy Food Camp, complete with a nutritionist from Adams Apples, or you can sit down for a proper restaurant meal with award-winning cook book writer, columnist, TEDx talker and supremely honest chef Jonathan Karpathios. There is plenty to learn about healthy eating too at Mysteryland!

More names will be announced by the end of April.
