Body-Shock's 2000 slice Full Moon is our next special Bonzai Classics remix and at the helm this time we've got Freaked Frequency & The Digital Enzyme with an absolute gem of a track firmly rooted in the psy arena. Bjorn Wendelen (DJ Ghost) and Laurent Veronnez (L-Vee) formed Body-Shock in 2000 and their first release - Sleepless - had this superb effort as the B-side. Full Moon quickly became a trance anthem in the super club era and was notably included on John 00 Fleming's For Your Ears Only 3 x vinyl compilation. After several releases Yves Deruyter came on board to continue a string of top club hits that are still very much at the heart of classic nostalgia sets. The Body-Shock sound never disappoints, it derives intensity and that feeling of full on, non-stop thumping music.

Freaked Frequency aka Serbian psy trance aficionado Milojko Jaric joins forces once again with Bournemouth, UK based artist The Digital Enzyme aka Martin J Frewer to deliver a rip roaring slice to get the energy flowing. The guys have collaborated on several other psy projects in the past and they certainly form a formidable partnership in the studio. Milojko started to produce electronic music in his early teens and over 10 years he gained great success and popularity on the trance scene worldwide. His sound is recognizable and very unique with a harmony of various elements and positive vibes. DJ and producer Martin is known for his quality sets that sends the floors crazy. In recent years he has found himself in the studio knocking out slamming tracks and no doubt he will continue to provide the soundtrack to many venues in the future. On the remix here we get nothing short of a raucous psy fuelled energetic monster of a track that will most definitely tear up the floors. From the very first few bars you get locked on thanks to classic psy sounds on top of a mesmerizing bassline. A cool breaks style beat leads us up to the full on experience complete with pumping kicks and a chugging bass covered in sharp synth hits. The energy levels continue to rise as the original melody comes through which works beautifully with the contemporary structure and sound. A definite must have for sure, not to be missed.

A classic remix series just would not be the same without a dose of one of our most famous cuts. The First Rebirth is by far the top of the pile when it comes to the Bonzai sound. Epitomised by countless remixes crossing several genres, the infectious melodies ring true no matter what style they're reproduced in. To give the track it's 2017 makeover we've brought in the amazing Talla 2XLC and boy does he deliver. Talla 2XLC aka Andreas Tomalla is a powerhouse in electronic music, since the mid 80's he's been at the cutting edge, providing the soundtrack to the discerning clubber and the masses alike with his pioneering techno sound born out of his House and New Beat roots. He co-founded the famous Technoclub event at the Dorian Gray in Frankfurt and from there he practically dominated the world. He has worked with a plethora of artists over the years and has amassed quite a respectable back catalogue under various guises. After successes with different labels he re-devoted himself to DJing and by the mid 90's he settled as one of the biggest artists in Europe and beyond. This year (2017) he will be part of our 25 years party line-up and this won't be the first time he's been associated with Bonzai, since 1998 he headed up our Bonzai Germany division. A true master in his field and the perfect choice for this legendary remix.

In 1993 The First Rebirth physically shook the whole dance music scene to its core, in particular the Hard Trance scene. The original still commands a lot of respect and has been the topic of much musical debate among a vast array of different people with different tastes. Some call it chaotic confusion, others call it sublime melodic trance, but no-one can deny that this piece strikes the balance between pumping hardcore beats and energetic melody driven trance. Its creators, Frank Sels aka Franky Jones and David Brants aka Axel Stephenson, had unleashed a masterpiece that propelled not only their own profiles but that of Bonzai as well. On the remix, Talla 2XLC gives the track a wonderful contemporary flavour to rival all remixes that have gone before. Right from the off we feel the energy coming out of the pumping kick drums and the tightly wound bassline synth. After a few short bars we find the first of many climaxes contained within the arrangement which leads us to a solid driving bassline. Soft melodic pads float in the background contrasting with the harder edged groove before the track crashes to the break to reveal that beautiful melodic sequence wrapped up in modern super saw synths. After a mega build up the main groove kicks back in with a vengeance to rip up the floors, sending the crowd into a frenzy. A definite must for the collection.

This new rework injects the real pure trance uplifting trance power to the original and it turns the beloved original into a bomb that will drive the crowds into oblivion and beyond. Very well produced with solid driving basslines, fat thumping drums and excellent rework with uplifting synths of the original melody. The climax goes off the roof and it will elevate festival crowds right at the top of the mountains. To keep the 25 years celebrations we've commissioned another series of remixes of some of our memorable classic cuts. In 1996 we launched the Bonzai Classics label and delivered the top tunes of the day on vinyl, CD and later on digital platforms. The success of the label was outstanding and this was due to the forward thinking, in-depth knowledge of the electronic music scene from within the Bonzai family. Over the last number of years we've been busy filling up the Bonzai Classics digital catalogue, it's now possible to download hundreds of your favourite Bonzai retro gems via Beatport. Keep your eyes peeled for more in the run up to 18th November 2017 at Waagnatie where our year long party comes to a climax.

To kick start this new series we've enlisted the supreme talents of Blufeld, a very much revered Bonzai artist for almost a decade, who will be utilising his remixing skills on Airwave's When Things Go Wrong. With an ever evolving sound, Blufeld is the perfect match up for this one as the original contains beautiful melodic parts for him to play around with. There can be no doubt that Airwave is a hugely influential figure in the progressive and trance scenes. For over 20 years he has consistently provided us with anthemic tracks filled with raw emotion and drive. Released in 2003 this explosive melodic trancer rose to prominence in a very short space of time. Such a simplistic structure that seems to unleash a wave of emotion with every listen. If there was ever a defining moment in emotional, melodic trance, then the original is right up there. On the remix Blufeld has done the track justice, bringing the sound in to the modern era in a deeper progressive style. The intro comes at us with mesmerizing synth which is followed by a solid chugging bass and tight beat construction that stays the course for the duration. The beauty of this track lies in the raw proggy groove that draws you in as the layers build. Blufeld creates a tension the builds effortlessly and climaxing with that infectious melody we know and love. A simply stunning contemporary take on a classic that will give the floors a good time.
