Over the past few years, Mahalo has demonstrated an unwavering ability to sweep listeners off their feet with his irresistible sound that sets dance floors ablaze. Today, he releases his debut album ‘Currents’ on Armada Music: an audial exploration through life’s many twists and turns.

An ode to his island roots, themes of water flow throughout the project, sonically through his signature aquatic-style pluck sounds and visually within the release artworks, logos, titles and live visuals. “The premise of water being so involved comes from the Balearic, moody island approach I try to infuse into the melodies,” says Mahalo. “Throughout the album, I embody this theme to honor the deep-rooted significance that water, and being fluid, has had in my life."

‘Currents’ takes listeners on a journey with captivating tracks such as lead single ‘Got A Friend’, which is lined with the seductive R&B-tinged vocals of Guillaume Gordon in their second single following 2021’s ‘Destination’. Working with many of this generation’s up-and-comers, the album is chock full of collaborations including ‘Think About Me’ with Swedish Red Elephant, ‘Careless’ with Milkwish feat. Lena Leon, and ‘Body Love’ with DLMT, the third linkup between the pair following their chart-topping 2019 hit, ‘So Cold’.
Mahalo adds: "Currents take us, and anything caught in them, to unexpected places. This body of work represents that sentiment. With love... and as always, Aloha."

One of the many incredible things made clear by Mahalo and DLMT’s previous two offerings on Armada Music is that their styles are of the highest complementary order, and their brand-new offering cements that notion. Anticipated since the success of ‘So Cold’ (feat. Lily Denning) in 2019 – which journeyed 15 weeks on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, eventually rising to #1 - and ‘Destination’ in 2021, ‘Body Love’ marks the pair’s third joint release and underlines their creative chemistry as artists and producers.

“Every time we get together in the studio, we get this rush of creativity that enables us to push our own boundaries”, Mahalo says. “‘Body Love’, our third collaboration together, is the product of that. It showcases both of our styles flawlessly, from DLMT’s creamy grooves to the earworm melodies and silky vocals that characterize my own sound.”
“This new single of ours stands out amongst our previous collaborations as a club-ready weapon that can thrive in any dance music environment”, DLMT adds. “We couldn't have been more excited to return to Armada Music, and we highly suggest you turn up your speakers for this one.”

About DLMT

With hard-hitting bass lines fused with euphoric and melodic vocals, DLMT’s sound has become a staple in the industry. His 2019 breakout single, ‘So Cold' (with Mahalo, feat. In the years to follow, DLMT has continued to make his stamp on the house music scene with hallmark records like ‘One Drink’ on Tchami’s Confession label and his hit collab with Afrojack ‘Wish You Were Here’ featuring Brandyn Burnette on Spinnin' Records.
