[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]17 Steps is about to unleash their excellent compilation Floor to Floor and in our hands we have the first top notch sampler. If you adore futuristic techno meets house sounds then this top compilation is for you. Velvit with Looking Glass provide a very nice tribalish tech house anthem with strong percussions, soaring synths and whispering vocals on the background. Hypnotic grooves that push and push even deeper. Dusky with Mount Belzoni go back to Detroit heritage with classic organs and basslines along with spooky vocal samples and moody atmosphere with touch of suspense and horror. Tooth Decay is tough old school techno affair with rave like synthy riff that performs a very memorable dominating highly addictive melody.  Trevino with ‘Ojak' is an early 90's infused futuristic punchy booming track that smashes the speakers so be sure to play it loud and proud. Techno with difference! #PureGold Love It[/content]

Very excited to present 'Ingrid Is a Hybrid’, the first single from our forthcoming artist album 'Outer'.

We’ve been working on ‘Outer’ for a while now and have put a lot of love into it. We can’t wait to share it in full later this year. Through the album process, we’ve explored a lot of our wider tastes and influences, collaborated with artists we respect and also conceived the live show that we’re debuting tomorrow at Village Underground.

‘Ingrid Is a Hybrid’ is a break from the 4/4 templates we’re known for, but represents a lot of what Dusky means to us. Enjoy! Nick and Alife

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Ingrid Is A Hybrid  comes from the forthcoming album of the classy act Dusky and is going to surprise you as they abandon temporarily their straight forward house sound by allowing other influences to come to the surface as well. It starts with emotional dreamy intro and them moves into the electro and break sequences while on top the eurodance style vocals add the 90's atmosphere to it. Spacey sound effects in the breakdown while the dancing comes back again when the electro climax is revealed and is destined to give you goosebumps as you go back in the 90s but in a very clever hybrid way. #PureGold Love it[/content]

Having recently played an eight hour set to a sold-out crowd at London’s Oval Space, the prolific Dusky drop a trio of moody club tool tracks on 17 Steps as they continue their European Autumn/Winter tour.

A club tool in the most effective sense, lead track ’Lydia’ is dark, nagging acid groover that builds and builds throughout its 6 hypnotic minutes. With all the melodic material based around the Lydian scale, ‘Lydia’ was originally inspired by a bizarre, trippy dream Alfie had in which everything was all based on the Lydian scale.

A homage to classic techno, ‘Bitter Lake’ is a hard-hitting surge of looping, percussive energy and Detroit-nodding rave stabs that build to a hoover-fuelled breakdown release.

Rounding off the trio, the brilliantly titled and uniquely composed ‘Infinite Libido’ again explores Dusky’s more percussive tendencies and has been a regular feature in their DJ sets for the past year.

Beatport Exclusive - lnk.to/LydiaEP

Dimitri Kechagias review: The awesomeness of Dusky continues with another 3 serious cuts of pounding techno and tech house vibes that you can not afford to miss. The London duo deliver 3 real club smashers for your pleasure and enjoyment. Lydia is a truly addictive tune that updates the legacy of acid house with wonky basslines, wobbly grooves and melodramatic sounds that make this experience simply out of this world. Sparkling sounds that despite its darkness has some strobe lights at the end of the tunnel. Bitter Lake adopts a rather classic early 90's old school bassline with pulsating drums and vintage piano synths that stay true to its techno roots. Fat, cranking, booming and energetic to the bone so this is definitely how we like to party! Lastly Infinite Libido is deep tech house with great atmospherics upon the classic groove and the very naughty sexy female vocal snippets that simply works and adds attitude. The percussive melodies, the hypnotic groove and the vintage elements make this the right pumping tool! You can not go wrong with Dusky!#PureGold Love It

Dimitri Kechagias review: 17 Steps is the magnificent Dusky record label. The latest release comes from the label owners Dusky with Skin Deep that is part of their Ordinary World EP. The record is simply mindblowing with massive Ibiza influenced synthy organ along with playful 90's infused basslines, chunky sexy groove and irresistible rhythm. The breakdown is simply delicious with warm airy pads, chill out atmosphere and great pitched down vocal snippets that are soulful and tender perfect for any Ibiza deep house set. Great build up and rocking drop that will make the ladies go super crazy without doubts. Quality always wins when it comes to review a Dusky record so this is huge for deep house aficionados. #PureGold Love It
