Solanca returns to Songspire with Dreamworld, a massive collaboration with singer-songwriter Jodie Knight. The track opens with a vocal loop and a solid, driving beat that builds anticipation for whats to come. As the energy rises, a gentle melody and warm bassline gradually unfold, paving the way for Jodies brilliant vocal performance. Dreamworld is a journey into an imagined paradise, a place of escape and perfection. Both the lyrics and Jodies voice strike an emotional chord, resonating deeply with the listener. The break offers a moment of calm, placing the vocals front and center before seamlessly transitioning into stuttering synths that build toward a powerful drop and carry the track into its final, soaring phase. Altogether, Dreamworld is a timeless masterpiece and an exquisite work of art that keeps the listener hooked from beginning to end.
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Solanca's return to Songspire with "Dreamworld," a remarkable collaboration with the talented singer-songwriter Jodie Knight, showcases a masterful blend of melodic dream progressive house infused with technical prowess and refined production techniques. The track, clocking in at an energetic 124 BPM, epitomizes the quintessential summer anthem, perfect for vibrant, sun-soaked nights. The production begins with an entrancing vocal loop, meticulously processed with subtle reverb and delay effects to create spatial depth. This loop is layered over a solid, driving beat crafted with precision kick drums and tight hi-hat patterns, programmed to build rhythmic anticipation. As the track progresses, a gentle melody emerges, constructed with warm, analog-style synths, complemented by a lush bassline that provides harmonic support and dynamic warmth. Jodie Knight's stunning vocal performance is the emotional centerpiece of "Dreamworld." The vocals are treated with delicate compression and EQ to enhance clarity while retaining their natural resonance. Subtle vocal layering and harmonization techniques add depth, enriching the sonic texture without overwhelming the mix. The track’s break section serves as a moment of introspective calm, stripping back the instrumentation to highlight Jodie's evocative vocals. Here, Solanca employs atmospheric pads and smooth filter sweeps to maintain a sense of continuity. The transition from the break is seamless, utilizing stuttering synth techniques—achieved through gated effects and rhythmic automation—to build tension leading into the powerful drop. This climactic moment features soaring synth leads, intricately side-chained to the kick drum for a dynamic, pulsating effect, characteristic of progressive house. Throughout "Dreamworld," Solanca demonstrates meticulous attention to detail in sound design and arrangement. The track’s structure is thoughtfully crafted to maintain listener engagement, with each section flowing organically into the next. The final phase is a culmination of all elements, blending melodic richness with rhythmic intensity, leaving a lasting impact. In conclusion, "Dreamworld" is not just a song but an immersive auditory journey—an exquisite piece of art that showcases Solanca's technical expertise and artistic vision. It's a timeless masterpiece that resonates both emotionally and sonically, securing its place as a standout track in the melodic progressive house genre. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

Last years released ‘Marimba’ by GHEIST receives a transformative treatment in the hands of the seasoned electronic wizard Robag Wruhme who always delivers something special. He recently remixed Dominik Eulberg, Matthew Herbert and Sven Vath and this time works his magic on ‘Marimba’. Taking the magical melody from the original and creating a dreamy atmosphere with stutter vocals and unique sounds drawing the listener into its enigmatic world. The original is skillfully manipulated, with Wruhme employing nuanced effects to create a sense of fluidity and dimension. The remix maintains a delicate balance between simplicity and complexity, allowing each layer to breathe and contribute to the overall auditory journey. Embrace yourself for Robag Wruhme’s ‘Dimona Negeff NB’ remix which stands out as a testament to artistic innovation. The remix skillfully balances intricate production techniques, rhythmic inventiveness, emotional depth, and spatial awareness. It's a work of art that invites repeated exploration, revealing new nuances with each listen. Wruhme's remix not only pays homage to the original but elevates it to a new level, solidifying its place as a standout piece in contemporary electronic music.
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]GHEIST's Marimba was a superb track that now moves to the next level thanks to Robag Wruhme Dimona Negeff NB remix. Tribal grooves, deep haunting pulsating basslines, distorted dystopian synthy riffs, ethereal voices, cinematic melancholic strings and of course the well known melody of the original. If you love melodramatic tracks that work like a treat in big festivals because of their detailed sound design that successfully absorbs and immerses the listener then this version has calming relaxing story but with an epic feel perfect for those DJs who love to take their audience for a journey. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

Truth be told, nothing quite describes the sound of Envotion.
Consisting of Hugo Alberts, Laurens Alberts and Stijn Halfens, the Dutch trio has been sporting that signature sound since their founding year (2004). Easily one of the most unique acts in the current electronic music landscape, they touched down on leading labels such as Armada Electronic Elements, Anjunadeep and Extrema Records, remixed the likes of Alexey Sonar, Michael Cassette and Way Out West, and saw studio magicians such as Jody Wisternoff, C-Jay, 16 Bit Lolitas, Proff and Haxxy deliver on remix duty in return.
Their music takes the very best from ‘emotion’, ‘devotion’ and ‘motion’ and marks a journey best shared with friends and a smile. If you dig it, you’re Envoted. So welcome to the club.
The release of their second album Omega on Songspire is the perfect occasion to request an interview from them and we are glad that they replied to it. Enjoy their very informative answers.
1-From your releases so far please choose your absolute top 5 tracks and give us a short comment on why you feel these specific tracks are so special and defining of what Envotion stands for.
Envotion: 1.The last wave still has a very special place in our hearts. When you see the clip on youtube the track is complete.
2. Pragmatics from our last album. Pragmatics was very different before. And after mixing this track down to it's essence we knew what to do with the rest of the album.
3. Streetwise. Just have a look at the great vibe these people are having to know why this track has a special place in our hearts. https://www.instagram.com/p/B01eN1-ACjw/
4. Our remix for Michael Cassette - Pangea. It's our most listened to track and somehow it still has everything we stand for.
5. Our remix for Way out West - Tales of the Rabid monks. Even after all this time, we still like the way the track feels like R&B after the break.
2-Dimitris: It would be fantastic to talk about your latest album Omega on Songspire. Please tell us how the idea of the album came about and is there any particular concept that runs through it?
Envotion: We had a few tracks (Where it all began and Omega) that -in the end- did not fit our last album, We Are. We also had 'We Come From The Stars' quite early and these three gave direction to a few experiments (read: tracks) later on. We have always been big fans of Bladerunner-like movies. This set the mood for the tracks of the album.
3-Dimitris: How long it took you to produce Omega and can u describe the production process of the album in simple steps?
Envotion: Some tracks are more than 10 years old :) Most important in our production process is that we do not have a deadline. If asked to remix a track in 1 month we kindly reject... The main musical idea usually happens quite fast Hugo usually makes that. But there are loads of little tweaks later on. Mixing also influences our tracks pretty much. It's always about getting to the essence of the track.
Sometimes we also take a wrong turn. This happened to 'We Come from the Stars'. We changed the masters on all streaming platforms just two days before the release because a follower reminded us of a better version :)
4-Dimitris: Did you had any particular difficulties accomplishing Omega or any specific production challenges that you had to overcome?
Envotion: Mixing is always the most challenging. Sometimes a track sounds great, but there are simply to many subjects in the mix. If you play it loud, it hurts your ears. Keeping just enough in, but at the same time reducing clutter is challenging in our style because we have quite a lot of layers. Especially in the 80's influenced high energy tracks.
In the end making the album only took us 4 years and for some tracks more than 10. So it was quite easy :)
5-Dimitris: Albums are always a very hard and difficult goal to achieve. Did you had moments that you lost your motivation for it and what thoughts have persuade you to continue till the end?
Envotion: Our goal is to have fun while making music. We have no deadline on being famous soon ;) That greatly helps. Also we are three. If one feels a bit lower in energy, we can elevate him.
6-Dimitris: Can you pick your top 3 tracks from the album and tell us for each one a short comment?
Envotion: 1: Where it all began. This is actually where it all began. And it is a very personal track. Also recording it live with Elke Smeets was magic.
2: Eidos, because this style was a bit new to us.
3: We Come From The Stars, the break is just mayhem. Looking forward to hearing this track on a big system.
7-Dimitris: Your singles include some top remixes. Can u talk a little bit about the remixers and how it was the experience to work with them.
Envotion: Jerome Isma Ae has delivered a simply stunning remix. He really improved the track. We analysed what he did in the studio and learned a lot :)
Jody is such a chill guy.. We have played with him before and what can I say... Listen to his music. It's friendly, soft, warm, open. This is his character too. We are honoured to have him on the remixes! By the way, Alexey Sonar made that happen. Credits go to him.
8- Dimitris: Which music composition software or hardware you prefer and why? What is your opinion of the latest movement to produce music with more analogue equipment and with less or without any digital software?
Envotion: It's the never ending discussion :) In our opinion there is no better. Only better knowledge of the gear you use. We have a lot of analogue gear, but use software too.
Actually Laurens made his own synth which just got released. It's the gradient, from Constructs of Time. https://constructsoftime.com
Actually this synth was used a lot on the album!
9-Dimitris: Omega is releases on Songspire? Tell us your opinion about that particular label and your connection with them.
Envotion: We know Onno for a very long time. He even came to our studio once, which is on the other side of the country. That he took effort back then to travel that far still says a lot about him. He is a positive guy that has great taste!
10-Dimitris:How much time do you spend promoting yourself in your social media and you see this as essential tool for self promotion and getting bookings too? Which social media is the one that seems to work better for you?
Envotion: It's probably SUPER important. But we do not like to do it too much. At the same time it's the only way to let people see more about you, so we try :) Lately Insta is our main platform.
11-Dimitris: Are you going to perform the tracks in any form as live band or as DJs?
Envotion: We can DJ. But we'd have to get booked :)
We have performed in all major cities in Russia, but because of the war we cannot go there anymore.
12-Dimitris: Are you enjoying to visit music conferences such as ADE and what is your opinion about it?:
Envotion: ADE is a great way to meet people. the vibe in the city is great. Miami is in our dreams ;)
13-Dimitris: Please note for all the new talents that read this interview to get some inspiration from you any technical tips in relation to your DJing or music productions. Also any piece of personal or music business' advice that has helped you to progress even further and is worth telling to the new upcoming talents.
Envotion: Somebody one told us that it's 80% perseverance, 20% talent. Probably (in most cases) he was right. If you want to pursue a musical career: make music every day. And save everything in project versions. Store/save your mixdowns. No matter if full day of making music sucked. You'll see that after a few years (or sooner), you will use something from the mess you made :)
14-Dimitris: Is there a club classic that you would like to remix or rework in 2023? Do you attempt often to do your own bootlegs of classics?
Envotion: We are working on a 80's hit bootleg... Hope that one works out.
15-Dimitris: Do you believe that music genres or styles are still relevant today and is possible Omega to place in a particular one?
Envotion: Genres are relevant. It's the way we can give words to what something is other that in music. Trying to be a genre -because you think you need to- is not what we would do. Omega is something we made because we made music within a certain feeling. Maybe that became Cinematic Progressive? Would that be a new Genre next to 'melodic'?
16-Dimitris: Finally tell us if you are able to make a leaving out of your music business and if not what other jobs are you doing in order to make a decent leaving?
Envotion: LOL We make a life... We do not make music for the money. And if we did we would be very poor. All three have other jobs (Software engineer, Internet platform owner, film producer.)
Dimitris: Your message & wishes for Flux Bpm Online readers.
Envotion: You are Envoted!
Thanks so much to Envotion for their time to answer so beautifully this interview. We love you guys.
Thanks so much to Onno van Kemmenade from Songspire Records for organising this interview.
The 200th release on Songspire Records is a fact and what better way to celebrate this with our first full length artist album from label favorites Envotion. Envotion's latest release, OMEGA, is a masterful exploration of the intersection between electronica and progressive music. The album's 11 tracks showcase the Dutch trio's talent for crafting deeply emotional and hypnotic soundscapes that effortlessly traverse genres and moods.
From the opening track We Come From The Stars to the hauntingly beautiful Where It All Began Envotion sets the tone for a journey through a world of lush textures, intricate rhythms, and floating melodies. The album's diverse range of sounds is evident in the playful and upbeat Eidos and the hypnotic and otherworldly After Burner, both of which highlight the group's mastery of progressive house.
Yet, OMEGA is not simply a showcase of Envotion's prowess in one genre. The album's end section takes listeners on a trip through the depths of indie dance and downtempo music. Omega and Humanoid are two standout tracks that demonstrate the group's ability to craft ethereal soundscapes within the music that transport listeners to another dimension.
Throughout the album, Envotion demonstrates a deft touch with sound design, blending organic and electronic elements to create a rich and dynamic sound. The production is pristine, with each sound carefully placed and expertly mixed to create a fully immersive experience for the listener.
But what truly sets OMEGA apart is its emotional depth. The album's closing track, Humanoid is a testament to the power of music to evoke the full spectrum of human emotion. With its cinematic vibe, the track captures a feeling of both hope and melancholy, leaving the listener with a sense of wonder and awe.
To conclude, Envotion's OMEGA is a stunning achievement, showcasing the group's immense talent and versatility. With its combination of progressive house, electronica and downtempo music, the album is a masterclass in genre-bending and an immersive experience that transports listeners to another world.
We welcome Italian mastermind Pakkio Sans for his first release on Songspire titled PLAN B, a rich progressive tech production that with its wobbling bass and special machine sounding samples create an astonishing groovy record. On remix duties we have Weird Sounding Dude who after several big releases on Anjunadeep and Mango Alley gives the original his deep hypnotic prog sound we all love so much. Rich of spacey elements and driven by a prodigious bassline this remix creates the perfect alternative version of PLAN B and makes sure both versions will sparkle during the upcoming festival season.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Pakkio Sans composes PLAN B very strong melodic house production with playful chunky grooves,, thumping deep basslines, warm strings on top, spacey effects and cool spoken vocal sample with psychedelic reggae origins. Minimal synthy lines repeated to build anticipation and after the spoken vocal moves to the second part working on the same hypnotic way. It's one of those surprising tunes that simply works wonders on the dancefloor. Weird Sounding Dude Remix moves in the deep melodic techno direction with very nice moody techno style groove while on top the various melodic layers and the cheeky vocals along with synths and epic strings build the tension pushing all the right buttons. His climax is involving and evolving with all the layers allowed to shine and build the very optimistic intense sweaty soundscapes. #PureGold Love IT[/content]
One of our favorite German producers Ron Flatter is debuting on Songspire with a three track EP full of big dancefloor mayhem. Each separate track can tear up every club at every given moment of the night. Jostos, Chidie and Shuwee each own a strength to reel you in the story of the tune. All records contain a deep attractive bassline and groove that distinguish it from others and leads towards a build-up and energy that sets it apart like you would never expect, this EP is one of a kind and one that will be supported for a long time to come.

Thinking Of Someone Else adopts a very cool pumping style groove along with organic percussion, nice drums, piano's and xylophone melodies along with little vocal snippets that works really well to create an uplifting melodic house beauty that will shine bright on any deep/organic house set. Ineni is the deeper moodier piece with melancholic edge with excellent organic percussion, warm piano chords, distorted synthy lovely hooks and fantastic ethnic style vocal samples that I really like and always manage to transfer your mind to another place and time. Perfect chilling calming cinematic music to turn this lousy world into a peaceful one. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
Envotion's latest release, the second single of their upcoming album OMEGA is titled Seven, is a true masterpiece of electronic music with old-school influences. The original is a perfect combination of pulsing beats, lush 80's vibe sounding synths and strings that cuts right through everything to give the track that raw and cool edge. The remix comes from Erdi Irmak who takes the track to another level, with a more upbeat tempo and sweet organic sounding touch, the sound Erdi is well known for and always touches our hearts with. He completes this strong release perfectly so we have two diverse versions to play out loud.

Classic track Universal Nation is a piece of art like no other. The impactful melody leans itself perfectly for a melodic house and techno take and that's what Minos One brings with great elegance. The familiar melodies of the original are present and accounted for and the updated production values give them a deep and groovy feel.
It pays homage to the original while bringing its own fresh perspective and is sure to be a hit for a long time to come. One of the standout features of this new version is the expansive soundstage, which really allows the various elements of the track to shine. The bass is deep and powerful, the drums are crisp and punchy, and the synths are bright and vivid. The overall effect is a track that is both highly danceable and emotionally resonant. Another notable aspect is the expertly crafted breakdown, which manages to be both suspenseful and uplifting at the same time. The tension builds slowly but surely, culminating in a drop that is sure to send any crowd into a frenzy.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Minus One attempts successfully to recreate in his own style the all-time trance classic and even can become Belgium's National Anthem Universal Nation. His version is around 5 minutes long and beautifully brings those epic anthemic melodies in the deep haunting direction. It's calming, soothing, dreaming, tripping and imaginative perfect to make everybody scream when they will become aware of the classic riff that moves and shakes inside the very impressive sound design that Minus One did for us. It will be played often in the coming months as it hits all the right spots and places. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
