Greenhaven DJs is a New York based duo consisting of Nicolas Mendoza-Conner and Trevor Haimes. Having met in a neighborhood known as 'Greenhaven,' the duo embarked on a journey to learn dance music production, by first developing their taste through the art of DJing. Their early years saw a string of releases on Black Hole, Flashover, and Echelon Recordings, including their first original 'The Darkest Hour.' Arguably, the duo's breakthrough can be traced back to a gig at New York's Cielo nightclub, where they met the legendary Paul Oakenfold. Oakenfold would go on to sign their track 'Portal' to Perfecto Black, which found its second home on Cosmic Gate's compilation series “Wake Your Mind Sessions.” The duo’s musical partnership with Cosmic Gate continues to flourish to this day, particularly with the release of their first collaboration ‘Retrospection.’

[item value="10"] Greenhaven DJs - Can't Believe It[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Greenhaven DJs slowly build their reputation as one of the most promising duos in the electronic dance music scene. Their latest single Can't Believe It on Wake Your Mind targets the mainstage of the festivals and can only be played in maximum effect in your peak time moment of your dj set. The beat is tougher and rougher with driving energetic basslines, thumping kicks and pounding drums leading in the long breakdown that slowly the rave static melody comes to the surface and slowly is revealed until the beat strikes back for the massive drop packed with big beats and euphoric synthy stabs that ensure that bodies will jump instantly. It has the instant gratification factor perfect for any DJ who wish to be rest assured that his weapons are the finest for mindblowing set.   Can't Believe It is remixed by Ralph who delivers the more crunchy electro minded and playful mainstage alternative for those who search for more groove in their trance choices. Overall is one of the strongest singles of the year so far! #PureGold Love iT[/content]

Greenhaven DJs – Vagabond EP Tracklist
01: Greenhaven DJs - Vagabond
02: Cosmic Gate & Greenhaven DJs - Retrospection
03: Cosmic Gate – Analog Feel (Greenhaven DJs Remix)
04: Greenhaven DJs - Conjure

Powered by Cosmic Gate’s Wake Your Mind Records, Greenhaven DJs have always existed at the more experimental end of progressive’s spectrum. Today however, through their ‘Vagabond EP’, the duo are pushing that future-music needle all the way into the red. More creatively crafted sonics this month you simply will not find!

Further, if a full EP of Greenhaven music wasn’t good news enough, Trevor Haimes and Nicolas Mendoza Conner have framed the EPs works in a DJ set, which they livestreamed from the awe-inspiring Brooklyn Army Terminal. Advanced sonics from atmospheric spaces, you can put eyes and ears to it all now … here!
Talking about the Livestream, Greenhaven DJs commented “while writing the “Vagabond” EP, we spent several months looking for a place that would be the most fitting for our sound. We have a relatively dark, cinematic sonic, so we wanted to look for run-down/dystopian spaces that would mesh best with our music. As residents of Brooklyn, we have a strong affinity with the borough, and we had a long list of spaces we were interested in. The dystopian brutalist architecture of the Brooklyn Army Terminal however was our first and foremost! Once we started reaching out we found there were many obstacles, but through sheer luck, legwork and some connections we ultimately managed to secure it. We also had the privilege to be the first DJs to perform in the Warehouse B atrium on the main railroad tracks themselves, which was a trip in itself. We are still pinching ourselves and are incredibly grateful to all those who helped make this Livestream happen!”
First out of ‘Vagabond EP’s bag is the title track itself – a breaks-fed ether-summoner straight from the pages of ‘Northern Exposure’. As it progresses, spacey horns meet jagged little riffs, long drawn strings and the subtlest of piano aftertouches. ‘Vagabond’s followed by the Cosmic Gate x Greenhaven collab ‘Retrospection’. Drum-punch, cybery FX, saw-toothed-synths, chasm-like drops and a deeply warped bass all pressure-cook the quartet’s production.

More Cosmically attuned music is right around the EP’s corner, as the Greenhaven DJs remix Nic & Bossi’s classic ‘Analog Feel’. Techily mutated synths, surging riffs and darkly artful FX contrast with harmonic waves, that play terrestrial beauty off against subterranean beast! Seeing the EP out is Greenhaven DJs own ‘Conjure’, which drops the kicks out entirely and ramps up the EQ to supply ‘Vagabond’ the most splendidly dystopian of conclusions!

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Wake Your Mind with Cosmic Gate as the label owners always manage to stay out of the box and what the industry demands to move towards on selections that will pass the test of time and remain interesting even after decades. For instance the very supported duo Greenhaven DJs is back with an excellent EP that includes two new tracks and two tracks released already in the past that now form an EP all together to showcase their incredible talent. The title track Vagabond is a perfect set starter with incredible breaks, electro and even mainstage trance influences. The cinematic dark dystopian atmosphere is well merged with the rough and razor sharp beats and the melancholic vocal chops that build tension and release moments. It's the type of track that not only DJs will play but also film directors can use in documentaries and dark Netflix series. The second collaboration track Retrospection includes strong breaks elements along with the mainstage pounding dark and haunting atmospheric club mayhem sound. Their remix of Analog Feel is dark cracking body moving and spanking version with the fat rounded bass and dominating kick along with the original melodic elements. Finally Conjure is the perfect outro to finish off and amaze your crowds. #PureGold Love IT   [/content]
