[item value="10"]Ryan Lucian - Memory EP[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Ryan Lucian unveils his debut EP Memory on Enhanced Recordings, a compelling showcase of his evolving melodic dance sound. The EP is a masterclass in production finesse, blending technical prowess with emotional depth to create an immersive listening experience. The EP opens with "Run" featuring Bianca, where Lucian employs a meticulous layering of crisp percussion and dynamic synth textures. The driving rhythm is underpinned by side-chained compression techniques, creating a pulsating groove that breathes in harmony with Bianca’s emotive vocals. Lucian’s adept use of reverb and delay effects adds spatial depth, enhancing the song’s ethereal quality. The title track "Memory," featuring Jas., delves deeper into themes of nostalgia and connection. Here, Lucian showcases his expertise in sound design, using warm analog synths processed through subtle saturation to evoke a vintage feel. The track’s topline melody is crafted with precision, featuring pitch modulation and automation for dynamic expression. The beat structure integrates syncopated hi-hats with deep, resonant kicks, creating a balanced interplay between rhythm and melody. "Electric Night," a collaboration with Wastemall, introduces a grittier edge to the EP. The production leans into darker, atmospheric textures, utilizing distorted basslines and granular synthesis to generate a raw, immersive soundscape. The track’s groove is accentuated by swing quantization, lending it an irresistibly infectious rhythm perfect for dimly lit clubs and introspective listening sessions alike. Throughout Memory, Lucian demonstrates a keen attention to detail in his mixing and mastering process. Each track exhibits a polished sound, with carefully balanced frequencies and dynamic range optimization to ensure clarity and impact. His use of parallel processing techniques—such as parallel compression on drums and vocals—adds punch and presence without sacrificing natural dynamics. With Memory, Ryan Lucian cements his place as a rising voice in melodic dance music, blending heart and technical mastery across a tight, impactful three-track journey. #PureGold Love IT[/content]
