Combining ‘bites’ and ‘beats’ to create the newest and most innovative culinary trend

Las Vegas has partnered with internationally renowned music festival, Tomorrowland, to create an innovative new gastronomic festival concept – B-EAT, bringing together some of the world’s leading chefs and DJs to celebrate the fusion of food and music. Performing side by side across two weekends (weekend one: 21st July – 23rd July and weekend two: 28th July – 30th July) some of Las Vegas’ most exciting chefs will share the stage with world class DJs, to create the ultimate sensory experience – bites and beats combined.

Each session will last for an hour and will include a three course tasting menu including sea urchin in fine gelee of lemon, veel cheek and tropical cheesecake.  Diners will be treated to an open kitchen experience as they watch the chefs, from Las Vegas restaurants such as Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand and Le Cirque at the Bellagio, create incredible dishes to music from internationally renowned DJs.

Among the top chefs hosting B-EATS sessions will be Christophe De Lellis (Executive Chef at Joël Robuchon, at the MGM Grand),Will Bergerhausen (Executive Chef at Le Cirque, at the Bellagio), Jamall Taherzadeh (Executive Chef at Libertine Social at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino), Joshua Smith (Executive Chef at Bardot Brasserie at Aria), Jonah Resnick (Executive Chef at Carbone at Aria) and Anthony Amoroso (Corporate Executive Chef at MGM Resorts International).

Known as one of the world's largest and most notable music festival, Tomorrowland will welcome renowned DJs including David Guetta, Eric Prydz, Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5 and Fat Boy Slim across two weekends, many of whom have residencies in Las Vegas thourghout the year. A number of these top performers will parther with Las Vegas’ culinary talent for a sensory experience like no other.

Extra information about the other restaurant concepts at Tomorrowland:

At Tomorrowland, you can enjoy sublime dining in five different restaurants at unique locations. The Tomorrowland restaurant has a magical view of the impressive mainstage and the valley. Following chefs such as Wout Bru, Viki Geunes and Seppe Nobels, this year another Michelin chef,  Hans van Wolde (Beluga, Maastricht, The Netherlands) will be leading the kitchen brigade for the restaurant.

The Steak House, run by the butcher’s shop De Laet & Van Haver, has developed into a regular feature of Tomorrowland and serves the most delectable steaks with Belgian fries and a creamy dollop of mayonnaise. For the third year in a row, De Oesterput will bring ‘the sea’ to Tomorrowland. In the Sea Food Restaurant, you can indulge in mussels and lobster.

A brand-new feature this year is the Tastes of The World Restaurant. Tomorrowland spent the past few weeks selecting six passionate international chefs/foodies and their inspiring creations. Together with the Flanders Kitchen Rebels (VisitFlanders) chefs, these six will serve innovative global fare in a beautiful orangerie at the foot of the One World bridge.

Tastes of the World Restaurant & Flanders Kitchen Rebels :
21/7 – Tom Van Lyssebettens (Cochon De Luxe)
22/7 – Broes Tavernier (De Vijf Seizoenen)
23/7 – Nils Proost (Petit Cuistot)
28/7 – Laurence Haegeman (De Vijf Seizoenen)
29/7 – Floris Panckoucke (Floris)
30/7 – Frederik Deceuninck (Sel Gris)

& international Tomorrowland foodies :

lijah Martinez (22) - USA – Albuquerque
George Capristan (33) - Peru – Lima

But of course you can also visit our restaurants & bars during the other days. Check tastesoftheworld.com to explore our delicious food & drinks menu. #Tastesoftheworld

LAS VEGAS CHEF BIOGS
CHRISTOPHE DE LELLIS, EXECUTIVE CHEF AT JOEL ROBUCHON
Christophe De Lellis became the executive chef of Joël Robuchon at the age of 27, making him one of the youngest chefs to head up the kitchen under the Chef of the Century.

Chef Christophe De Lellis was born in Paris and finished first of his class at one of the best culinary programs in France: Ecole Gregoire Ferrandi.

While studying through his tenure at the school, he cooked at a Parisian venue named Le Cardinal, before being brought to the Paris’s Marriot Hotel to be on the opening team of La Brasserie Renaissance; a two-year stint which ultimately led to his crossing the Atlantic to join Chef Joël Robuchon’s eponymous Michelin Three-Star restaurant. During the following four years as a Sous Chef in the award-winning kitchen De Lellis rotated through each of the stations, learning the ins and outs of their prep, entremet, garde manger, fish and meat stations, becoming one of the leaders in the kitchen as he trained the next generation of cooks in the kitchen.

In 2014, De Lellis left the kitchen to become Chef de Cuisine at the James Beard award winning restaurant SAGE at Aria Resort & Casino, working with Shawn McClain in his acclaimed Las Vegas venue and putting his leadership and culinary skills to the test in a new – and quite different – American cuisine.

Within a year, he got the call to return to Joël Robuchon Restaurant as Chef de Cuisine, a move predetermined to position him as the Executive Chef of the celebrated restaurant only a few short months later, at the ripe age of 27.

WILFRIED BERGERHAUSEN, EXECUTIVE CHEF AT LE CIRQUE
The French native began his pursuit of a culinary career in 2001 when he earned his certificate of cooking (B.E.P.) at the prestigious Paul Augier in Nice, France. He went on to earn a bachelor degree in culinary arts management. While working towards this complementary distinction in catering, he trained with “Le Nôtre” and was chosen to assist M.O.F. Chef Eric Finon at the National Competition of Artistic Cooking in France which was a preliminary qualifier for ‘The Bocuse d’Or’.

He began working as commis de cuisine at “Le Sud” in 2001 and then moved on to the training at restaurant “Villa Des Lys” in 2002.

He worked as a commis de cuisine and apprentice for “Le Nôtre” from 2004-2006. It was in this setting that he was able to experience cooking for large amounts of people in different environments from private dinner parties in villas to banquets on yachts.

Finally, he worked from 2006 to 2008 as sous chef de partie at restaurant “L’Oasis” in La Napoule, one of the most prestigious restaurants in France. The Michelin two-star restaurant is known for having a variety of now celebrity chefs working their way up through their kitchen.

In 2008 Bergerhausen visited Las Vegas on holiday, during his stay he visited the MGM Grand to see Joël Robuchon’s new restaurant as he had read an article about it whilst he was in France. In a twist of fate he received a tour of the restaurant and not one month later he returned to Las Vegas to begin work at the restaurant. Bergerhausen worked as sous chef and kitchen manager for Joël Robuchon Restaurant from 2008 to 2012. It was during this time that he began to learn English.

In 2013, Bergerhausen made the move from Joel Robuchon to serve as executive sous-chef and chef de cuisine of MICHAEL MINA restaurant at Bellagio. In this role he was responsible for creating, researching and developing new menu concepts as well as all meal preparation and overseeing culinary operations at the restaurant.

Now, at 28 years young, Bergerhausen is serving as the Executive Chef of Le Cirque at Bellagio. In his first position as the head of a kitchen, Bergerhausen admits that he is living his dream every single day. Little did he know at the age of 22 that what he thought would be one year in Las Vegas would turn into six and that he would be managing one of the most prestigious kitchens on The Strip. His traditional French background contributes heavily to the success of the restaurant as he embarks on this journey towards continued success.

Although the festival only kicks-off tomorrow, already a lot of people felt the magic of Tomorrowland today. At Brussels Airport flights full with festivalgoers from all over the world arrived, as well as AMARE, the Tomorrowland plane. Hundreds of busses en trains with destination ‘Boom’ shuttled the festivalgoers to their hotel or Dreamville (the name of the campsite at Tomorrowland). 38.000 campers just discovered . While the sun is going down, all 38.000 campers are enjoying themselves during The Gathering, the pre-party at Dreamville: a small taste of what is coming tomorrow.

Before getting on the plane with destination Tomorrowland, festival goers were treated to a pre-party at the gate at 24 departure airports. 47 flights took the party up in the air with music on board, of which 8 flights even host a live DJ-set at 30.000 feet.

The Gathering
The 38.000 campers just raised their own tent or discovered their Easy Tents, DreamLodges or Cabanas. They took a refreshing shower or did some shopping at the bakery or the supermarket, all situated in the central Marketplace. The festivalgoers got already a preview for the next days with a big pre-party: called The Gathering. Behind the dj-booth: Belgian proud Yves V, Romeo Blanco and Sem Thomasson. Campers got surprised by a surprise act of Afrojack.

Belgian Journey
Today Brussels became even more multicultural than usual. Festival goers were immersed in the magic of Tomorrowland at the Grote Markt. For this occasion, the square was only accessible to people with a Tomorrowland bracelet. While a dj played music, there were all kind of activities around the “Grande Place”. In the evening the party continued at Tours & Taxis. What a way to kick things off…!

GLOBAL JOURNEY: FIRST TOMORROWLAND FESTIVAL GOERS ARRIVED ON WEDNESDAY  AT BRUSSELS AIRPORT

This year, Tomorrowland celebrates its 13th edition. The festival will welcome 200.000 festivalgoers per weekend. The global interest for the ticket sale was overwhelming once again. People from all over the world will visit the festival and make Tomorrowland the most international event on the planet.

This year 30.000 people from around the world will take part in Global Journey, the largest ever travel undertaking by a festival worldwide. Next to the Brussels Airlines flights, we also have guests who travel by train and bus. 38.000 guests are staying at DreamVille or others are sleeping in one of our 27 Tomorrowland hotels in Brussels.

Festivalgoers can also extend the unique global connection of Tomorrowland with an amazing travel package that takes them across Europe : Discover Europe. The People of Tomorrow get the chance to visit next to Tomorrowland also Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona, Ibiza and Budapest.

For the sixth year in a row, Brussels Airlines flies thousands of festival goers from around the globe to Tomorrowland.  This year, Brussels Airlines brings more than 10.000 festival goers to Belgium to celebrate at Tomorrowland in Boom. All these music lovers come to Belgium on 236 different flights from 79 cities all over the world. The most popular departure cities are Geneva, Madrid and Barcelona. About 500 Tomorrowland goers chose a Discover Europe Package, in which they can combine the festival with a visit to several European cities.

Before getting on the plane, festival goers were treated to a pre-party at the gate at 24 departure airports.. 47 flights take the party up in the air with music on board, of which 8 flights even host a live DJ-set at 30.000 feet. This year, Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland proudly organize party flights with Amare, the fourth Airbus A320 in the  airline’s Belgian Icon series, dedicated to Tomorrowland.  Amare was chosen as the fourth special livery plane because Tomorrowland really has become one of Belgium’s icons, the festival being infamous around the globe. Guests on board of Amare will be in the Tomorrowland mood right from their departure, with its special mood lighting and music installation on board.  On some of the flights, Tomorrowland brings along the Flemish Kitchen Rebels (VisitFlanders), chefs who will introduce festival guests to Belgium’s fine cuisine.

Wednesday DJ Yves V played a live DJ set on board when Amare flies 180 Discover Europe party goers from Ibiza to Brussels Airport. Michelin star chef Roger Van Damme served a special Tomorrowland dessert for everyone on board.

New this year is that we will test a baggage drop off point at the Dreamville, so Tomorrowland goers don’t have to carry their bags and tents to the airport themselves and can have a relaxed trip home or can enjoy a nice day of sightseeing before heading to the airport.

At the festival site, Brussels Airlines brings everyone with their heads in the clouds, with The Loop, a ferris wheel that offers the best view over the magnificent landscape of Tomorrowland and far beyond.  A ride on The Loop  is, like every year, free for every Tomorrowland visitor.

Monday at the stroke of 2 PM, Tomorrowland tipped their hand about the 2017 edition for the first time. A mysterious video animation with a deck of magic cards revealed the first artist who will grace the Mainstage on Friday 21 July: Carl Cox. The term "Daybreak Sessions" was created by Tomorrowland for the 10-year anniversary edition of the festival. The concept highlights the rich musical palette offered at Tomorrowland and is an inspiring way to make the transition from the quiet magic as the doors open to the pure energy (Madness) that breaks loose in the evenings on the MainStage.

During the Daybreak Sessions, a headliner gets the opportunity to create a 3-hour DJ set of his or her favourite deep and tech house, starting when the first visitors make their way into the valley until the MainStage area fills up three hours later.

This musical journey is a way for festival-goers to discover that these artists have much more to offer than what they’re best known for, and the artists themselves are hugely enthusiastic about the chance to do something completely different.

Clichés are shattered, artists get to spread their wings and the audience is invited on a journey in an unforgettable, magical setting.

A few hours later, the deck was shuffled again and a hand was dealt featuring a variety of artists. Major names such as Alison Wonderland, Alok, Armin van Buuren, Axwell & Ingrosso, Chris Liebing, Claptone, Dave Clarke, Eats Everything, Edu Imbernon, Eric Prydz, Flux Pavilion, Frequencerz, Hard Driver, Jauz, Kölsch, Netsky, Nic Fanciulli, Oliver Heldens, Pan-Pot, Paul Kalkbrenner, Paul Van Dyk, Roger Sanchez, Solomun, and Sub Zero Project were unveiled in a mesmerising sequence.

Every name, new names will be revealed each day via a video

The Dutchman Afrojack has been a part of Tomorrowland for years, but now for the first time he will be hosting his own ‘Jacked’ stage. Also on hand will be drum and bass pioneer Andy C, co-founder of Ram Records which, together with Star Warz will be celebrating the label's 25th birthday at Tomorrowland. As will the Bonzai All Stars, who will be marking the very same milestone for their legendary label Bonzai Records. The label has let slip that 2017 has lots of surprises in store.

The Canadian Art Department will be back again at Tomorrowland. Joris Voorn, just like Carl Cox, will be playing a 3-hour Daybreak Session (and will also appear more than once, stay tuned). The Japanese grand master of techno Ken Ishii will be back on the scene, as will the melodious Kollektiv Turmstrasse.

And there will be no shortage of female DJ talent: Krewella, techno queen Nicole Moudaber and Lauren Lane have confirmed that they will be there to show the boys a thing or two. Also, get ready for Loco Dice, Lost Frequencies, and Maceo Plex, while Mark Knight will host his own stage, Toolroom LIVE.

The current number-one DJ Martin Garrix will for the first time be presenting his own STMPD RCRDS stage. Martin Solveig will be returning with his irresistible My House concept. The German Matthias Tanzmann released a stunning new album and will be playing his tunes at De Schorre. Radical Redemption and Zatox will pump up the adrenaline with their driving beats. The multitalented Seven Lions will be in attendance, while for the first time, DJ Snake will be bringing his energy to the Mainstage. According to annual tradition, Sven Väth will be back with his Cocoon family to present their finest techno selection on vinyl. The French artisan Technasia will be returning and will play on his customary 3 decks. The Magician will be casting his spells on his own Potion stage.
