[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Parnassvs is an upcoming talent that has been recognized from the global trance scene for his very strong uplifting trance beauties. His track Conquest is a powerful highly energetic trancer with solid driving basslines, pumping kicks and metallic and sharp drums for its foundation. He sprinkles the tasty trance menu with acid overtones to give this raw edge and in his breakdown he goes for long and atmospheric production full of euphoric swirling synths and epic orchestral strings leading to the very emotional and highly exciting crescendo moment for the ride of your lifetime for sure. Clean, crisp and to the point makes this an awesome choice for your trance sets. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
Hailing from the flatlands of Dordrecht, Southern Holland, Daniel Wanrooy has been influencing the playlists of some of the world’s biggest & best artists for the last decade. Both as a solo artist and half of the hailed duos Progression & Odyssee, his evocative, imaginative music has successfully cross-bred virtually every subgenre of nowadays Electronic Dance Music. His music got support by Tiësto, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Sander van Doorn, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten and many more!
EDM life for Daniel started early with him putting his musical talents to the test. Experimenting with the first Tracker programs, Daniel learned to make music by the well-traversed method of trial and error. Daniel’s career really started to take off from the early 2000’s. Daniel was spotted by the mighty Tiësto, who took Daniel under his wing, supporting him around the globe. During the years the superstar DJ used a total of 5 tracks of Daniel’s work on his mega-selling “In Search of Sunrise” series. His first album “Different Day, Different Light” was credited by MTV as “two hours of fascinating music”, receiving a huge reception from press and DJs alike. His second album “Slice Of Life” was also a massive success, with the music video USA Idols finalist Blake Lewis for their single “Stay In The Moment”. During his Slice Of Life world tour he was special guest on national Malaysian television during the “Hello on 2” breakfast show for over 5.000.000 live viewers.
With this is mind its understandable that Daniel was called upon to work with some of the scenes most credible producers, with him remixing tracks for the likes of: Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5, The Crystal Method, W&W, Conjure One, Sander Kleinenberg, Allure, The thrillseekers, Super8 & Tab, Andy Moor and many more. Daniel has works with & released on such labels as Spinnin’ Records, Mixmash, Armada, Black Hole Recordings, EMI, Magik Muzik to name a few.... achievements that most artists can only dream of in such a short space of time.
A wish to see his tracks working from the perspective of the DJ booth along with a desire to travel the globe prompted Daniel to take the DJing plunge. Daniel threw himself headfirst into his performances, spinning at the legendary Heineken Hall in Amsterdam, Trance Energy - Holland, Winter Music Conference - USA, Technoparade - France, The Point - Ireland, Es Paradis in Ibiza, Eden - Ibiza, FFWD Dance Parade - Holland, Hellinikon Complex - Greece, Luxy - Taipei, Oslo Streetparade - Norway, Monday Bar Cruise - Sweden, Brixton Academy - England, Carling Academy - Scotland, Suikerrock - Belgium, Halo - South Africa, Rising Festival - Malaysia, Mysterious World - Indonesia and many many more, Daniel even toured around Europe with Tiësto - playing to over 15,000 strong crowds across the World!

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Grotesque is considered as true leader in the uplifting trance community. The latest by Jak Aggas called Northern Lights is a fine slice of instrumental uplifting trance as it should be done with hints of orchestral trance but so well produced that the final result sounds very unique. Heavy drums, punchy basslines, boundy drums and most importantly on top one of the strongest melodies that you could get in a trance track. Very deep and touching but at the same time so hopeful, euphoric and truly encouraging to keep on dancing till the morning light! Particularly the climax is burst with energetic emotional moments to remember for long! #PureGold Love IT [/content]
You want it pure, unmodified and exactly as the original artist intended it?! Well this time you’ll need to look elsewhere! This September the good folk at Grotesque stand ready to toot the horn of all things ‘remix’ once again!
With an airtight game plan, ‘Grotesque Reworked & Remixed 2’ serves you one mix of the best of the best from trance’s freshly released & remixed crop, whilst the other cliff-dives into the archives to rework some of the genre’s classier classics. Over 230 minutes, the release has a posse of on-point remixers to hand, with Alex M.O.R.P.H., Ferry Tayle, Jordan Suckley, Sneijder, Robert Nickson, Roger Shah just some of those flexing their remix-muscles. They’ve had a starry cast of legends to work on too, with productions from Tiësto & Armin, Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Gabriel & Dresden, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Andy Moor and Lange among those coming under the remix laser.
Having handled Volume 1’s duties solo, Master of Grotesque ceremonies RAM shakes up the album system some. For its second outing he’s drafted in head of Grotesque A&R Daniel Skyver to co-mix the edition. With RAM’s focusing on the ‘now’ and Daniel on the ‘then’, between them they’ve delivered a mixcomp that’s as big a salute to the time honoured trance remix as you’ll hear this year!
On his mix Daniel has dug deeper into the crates to focus on still remix-fresh trance heritage. A ‘Café Del Mar’/‘Greece 2000’/’1998’-rerun this is not! Over its opening half you’ll hear reworks like Ruddaz’s much-champed take on Coast 2 Coast’s ‘Home’, Roger Shah’s reimagining of ‘Somewhere Inside’ from Allure & Julie Thompson and Alex M.O.R.P.H. uptick of Kamaya Painters’ ‘Wasteland’. Further in Joy Kitikonti’s ‘Joyenergizer’ gets a lightning bolt retouch from 2nd Phase, Armin & Tiësto Pres. Major League’s ‘Wonder?’ dazzlingly comes to the remix attentions of that man Jordan Suckley and Indecent Noise overhauls DJ Wag’s Overdose classic ‘Man On The Moon’. Bringing his disc to an adrenaline-charged conclusion, Daniel lines up David Forbes’ fresh-off-the-desk remix of Hennes & Cold’s ‘The Second Trip’, while the mix and heads to the dawn with Binary Finary’s elevating spin on Mauro Picotto’s ‘Komodo’.
On Vol. 2, RAM’s tasked himself with handling the cherry-pick of 2018’s remixes and in the search has left no stone unturned. He frontends’ the mix with Robert Nickson reshaping of Giuseppe Ottaviani & Christian Burns ‘Brightheart’, Sneijder’s restoration of Lustral’s ‘Everytime’ and the Ciaran McAuley refit of Aly & Fila/Ferry Corsten collab ‘Camellia’. As the mix crosses over into its second - even more uplifting - phase, RAM spikes the punch with some reworks of his own material. ‘Forever And A Day’ and ‘Circle Of Life’ feature in their Allen Watts and Amir Hussain reinterpretations, while his and Mark Sherry ‘Nordic Nights’ gets hit by a Darren Porter rebuild. He reaches its final apex with Dan Stone’s remix of Aly & Fila’s ‘We Control The Sunlight’, Davey Asprey’s ‘Sunbreaker’ and HP Source’s H.P Lovecraft-esque take of Sneijder’s ‘Neutralize’.
Remix fun for the whole (trance) family, ‘Grotesque Reworked & Remixed 2’ is the release you need to launch your 2018 clubbing autumn the right way. Full tracklist details below, and the album’s available to pre-stream/purchase via this link now: https://reworked.choons.at/remixed2

Ciaran McAuley is starting 2018 with an amazing single ‘Serengeti’. Teaming up with talented DJ & producer RAM, both delivering a massive tune with an enchanting and hooking melody accompanied by tribal vibes that builds up to an epic climax. ‘Serengeti’ will take you on an endless trip, let's get lost in it!
Ciaran is definitely on the rise so we are happy that he has found some valuable time to reply in our questions. Read it all here..and enjoy!
Dimitri: When did you start your involvement with electronic dance music and which music style you are more affiliated with and why?
Ciaran McAuley:Funny the terms “Electronic Dance Music” only started being thrown about when Dance music blew up in the states and Djs didn’t want to be pigeon holed.. but I started producing about 10 years back with old studio partner Mark Reynolds under Walsh&McAuley. I’ve always had a broad taste in music from as far back as I can remember were most, including my friends go down the Techno and House road, I’ve stood by my Trance but still love a Techno or Progressive night out.
Dimitri: Did you had the opportunity to attend any kind of music production course or are u completely self taught? Do you consider that is essential for any artist to complete any production course?
Ciaran McAuley: Many don’t know that when I was with Mark (Walsh&McAuley) he was the hands-on guy, the engineer. It was 2014 I set out on my solo journey, it was like starting out again! Scary to be honest because in one hand I had this crazy obsession to be a DJ/Producer and in the other thinking I was never going to be able to it on my own. I remember sending my first few solo projects to big names who I was friendly with, they basically laughed. I’m a very determined person which I was able to use to my advantage. I locked myself away for three years plus teaching myself and now I’m here today playing with “the big boys”
Dimitri: In which label was your first ever release and how did you manage to attract the attention of the label?
Ciaran McAuley: My first release was “It Doesn’t Rain Forever” on Giuseppe Ottaviani’s GO On Air Recordings, Giuseppe has always been a friend from my Walsh&McAuley days, let’s just say he was one that was always honest/brutal with his feedback!!
Dimitri: Let's focus on Serengeti with RAM. Please tell us from where did you got the inspiration for the track?
Ciaran McAuley: I started working with Grotesque Music a year or so back and becoming very close with label boss RAM he approached me about doing a collaboration. I remember the day he sent me this African theme asking my thoughts, would this work? I loved it! I’m a huge fan of film scores and I could hear so much with the African vocal, I was super keen to get started.
Dimitri: Which was the biggest challenge that you faced during the production of this superb track?
Ciaran McAuley: The biggest challenge was picking which sound/style to go with. I had several directions with this track but I think we’ve went with the correct one?!
Dimitri: Is the quality of this track higher than your previous one? If yes in what ways this track sounds better than your previous one?
Ciaran McAuley: This is a tricky question, I do feel I am constantly progressing and times I look back and pick holes in each production but for now I need time away from this track!
Dimitri: Do you have any friends or relatives that you send them the track before sending it to a label or if you are DJ did you test it in your gigs? If yes did you have to do any alterations as a result of the crowd reaction?
Ciaran McAuley: Yes, I have a bunch of close friends who I like to send my music to. Sometimes they get a hash whatsapp recording from my studio when I’m buzzing.
Dimitri: Please describe to us the studio that you have produced the track? What is your favourite hardware and software set up? Do you have in mind any new gear that you wish to get in order to raise the quality of your production?
Ciaran McAuley: This is a good question especially for those wanting to start out! People think you need all this expensive equipment, but I’ve got to where I am now, several top tens and endless support on the biggest stages around the globe from my box room and a few plug inns. Only recently I’ve started to think, time to invest.
Dimitri: Do you have any future releases planned and when will be released?
Ciaran McAuley: Yes, I have a very busy release schedule. Next up we have my remix of trance classic “Salt Tank – Eugina” out 12th Feb followed by my remix of Ferry Corsten – Blueprint and Paul Oakenfold – Waterfall. My next original will be out March I believe on FSOE 😉

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]When it comes to trance the collaboration of the legend RAM and upcoming Ciaran McAuley is definitely headline in the trance press. The superb Serengeti is simply a very beautiful trance record with solid arrangement and superb atmosphere that is warm and tender but at the same time is epic and anthemic to the maximum. The Ibiza trance feel good heavenly synths are merged with very emotional melancholic strings in the breakdown and on top magnificent ethnic vocal sample that works perfectly to create the right cosmic tribal atmosphere and awake your senses. It would be impossible not to feel shivers and goosebumps and slowly sense that the ground is staying behind and you fly high like an eagle. Trance at its highest quality that respects the listener and despite the well known elements manages to stay in your memory for long. It's an experience for sure. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

[item value="10"]Vimana - We Came (Andres Sanchez Remix) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]We Came by Vimana is considered to be one of the biggest trance classics of all time and when the uplifting maestro Andres put his hand on it you can easily understand that we deal with a superb remix ready to bring the nostalgic goosebumps back once again. Tough raw metallic drums, energetic pulsating bassline and on top the well known synthy hooks applied in the finest possible way to make you scream and shout without second thought particularly in his fantastic breakdown that lead us with intensity in his climax and his playful outro that seems to follow the path of the classy original. Andres star is rising and he is slowly building his path with magnificent tracks under his belt like this one. #PureGold Love It [/content]
Allan Morrow's remix of Citation is coming on like a train at full speed with a killer bassline and soaring synths adding fan addictive ferociousness to the original version.

[item value="10"]Garry Heaney - Citation (Allan Morrow Remix)[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]One of the most iconic trance anthems returns on Grotesque Reworked. Citation by Garry Heaney is perfectly resprayed by Allan Morrow who adds tougher punchier banging basslines, powerful headbanging punchy drums and massive synthy stabs that lead to the perfectly executed breakdown with cinematic atmosphere and melodramatic touches with superb emotional strings combined with huge synthy lines and breakbeat underneath until to build the tension and lead to the ultimate euphoric explosion. The climax has tech trance touches and solid in your face arrangement that hooks the listener until there is no tomorrow! Definitely one of the remixes that is worth it to be out there. #PureGold Love iT [/content]
Had it somehow escaped your attention, of late Grotesque has been in overdrive. Within just the last month alone the label side of RAM’s marque has notched up a hat-trick of Beatport #1s. Their events arm meanwhile have just brought word of a 2018 international expansion, with Grotesque shows confirmed to tour the States, Asia and Europe. On the mix-comp front, RAM is a man whose largesse likewise knows no limits!! Fresh off the back of last month’s killer ‘Reworked & Remixed’ outing, with ‘Grotesque 300’, he’s ready to formulate another mix-spectacular into December’s equation.
To celebrate the transmission of another 50 episodes of the Grotesque Radio Show, our trance troubadour again descended on Rotterdam’s historic Maassilo compound in early December. In tow were 5000 wildly up-for-it fans, and another unforgettable crowd-wowing night was the sure-fire outcome.
A CD ‘compadre’ to its milestone celebrations, ‘300’ delivers an all-dancing all-trancing Carnival of the Grotesque companion to your door! Heading up the mixes are tech-trance legend Marco V, the Grotesque kingpin himself, RAM and one of the scene’s most rapid risers in 2017, Darren Porter. Over 3½ hours and across 43 tracks, it brings the night’s highs back into the sharpest focus. The three spinners have compiled and mixed the best, most seismic, most ‘300’-capturing trance available into it!
Over its 3 discs, you’ll discover original productions & reworks from a host of the scene’s most illustrious names. A Mardi Gras of Ferry Corsten, Darren Tate vs Jono Grant, MaRLo, PureNRG, Talla 2XLC, Stoneface & Terminal and Sean Tyas are but a handful of those involved. There’s an abundance from the newer names too, with the latest studio-weapons featured from ReOrder, Shugz, Lostly, The Noble Six, Ikorus, Dark Monks, Daniel Skyver and heaps more besides. Leaving their own inimitable marks on the discs too you can count on plenty from the production houses of Marco, Darren and RAM too.
So prepare for a fast flashback to that ‘Cirque du Trance’: Grotesque 300 - the album is available online, through physical stores and via streaming sites now here!
