GRAMMY-nominated producers Andrew Bayer and Gabriel & Dresden join forces with GRAMMY-nominated songwriter and vocalist Sub Teal on ‘Other Eye’, out now on Anjunabeats.

Andrew Bayer, Gabriel & Dresden & Sub Teal have been integral parts of the trance scene for over a decade. They make their collaborative debut on ‘Other Eye’, a track played extensively by Above & Beyond in recent performances at Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest and more.

Andrew Bayer has been responsible for the most experimental and ambitious artist albums on Anjunabeats. His 2011 debut ‘It’s Artificial’ merged glitch-hop, electronica and prog house, while on 2013’s ‘If It Were You, We’d Never Leave’ he pushed the envelope further with a critically-acclaimed journey of electronica and sunny, instrumental hip-hop. 2018's ‘In My Last Life’ wove the emotive songwriting of Ane Brun and Alison May into a modern alt-pop masterpiece. His fourth studio album, ‘Duality’, is one of his most ambitious works to date; climbing to #1 on the US / Canada iTunes Dance chart and attracting support from Sirius XM's Diplo and Liquid Todd, BBC Radio 1's Annie Nightingale and KCRW's Jason Bentley.

This year, Andrew followed up the success of ‘Duality’ with a far-reaching North American tour and made an appearance at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festivities at The Gorge. He also joined Seven Lions on his ‘Journey III’ tour with stops at The Greek Theatre, MGM Hall, Avant Gardner (Brooklyn Mirage), Downtown Las Vegas Event Center, Santa Barbara Bowl and beyond.

Josh Gabriel & Dave Dresden, aka Gabriel & Dresden, have built an enduring legacy across their 20+ year career. Known for their unique brand of ‘emotional dance music,’ the DJ and producer duo helped define the sound of modern trance music with hits like ‘As The Rush Comes’, ‘Beautiful Things’ and ’Tracking Treasure Down.’ The pair also created three essential mixes on BBC Radio 1, won Best American DJ, Best Producers and Best Remixers at the IDMA Awards, scored 21 #1’s on the Billboard Dance Chart, peaked at #20 on DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll and have performed in over 40 countries.

Gabriel & Dresden made their ‘The Only Road’ and ‘Remedy’ albums off the back of Kickstarter campaigns released on Anjunabeats in 2017 and 2020 respectively. Title track ‘Only Road’,’ co-written and performed by Sub Teal, went on to be remixed by Cosmic Gate and was subsequently nominated for a GRAMMY in 2018. They stayed active during the pandemic with their Club Quarantine lockdown Twitch streams, growing a community of over 50k, and followed it up in real life with their ‘Gabriel & Dresden + Friends’ tour. The pair return to Anjunabeats after their last single on the label, ‘Bias’, which earned support from Cosmic Gate, Darude, Genix, Farius and more.

Sub Teal has been a longtime collaborator with Gabriel & Dresden as a songwriter and vocalist on ‘The Only Road’ and ‘Remedy’ albums. As a DJ, she joined Gabriel & Dresden on all dates of the ‘Gabriel & Dresden + Friends’ tour, as well as performing weekly on the Club Quarantine live stream. ‘Other Eye’ marks the first of many upcoming collaborations for this gifted singer/songwriter.

His fourth studio album ‘Duality’, is one of his most ambitious works to date. ‘Duality’ pt. 1, released on August 12, 2022, explored Bayer’s passion for downtempo and indie-pop, while ‘Duality’ pt. 2, which followed on October 26, 2022, aimed firmly at the dancefloor, exploring Bayer’s forward-thinking trance and progressive sound.

Supported by Sirius XM's Diplo and Liquid Todd, BBC Radio 1's Annie Nightingale and KCRW's Jason Bentley, ‘Duality’ was met with acclaim from fans. Tracks from the album took centre stage on Andrew’s ‘Duality’ album tour; Group Therapy 500 in Los Angeles; Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge and Dockyards London; Anjunabeats Miami and Austin, and his recent support slots for Seven Lions on the ‘Journey III’ tour.

A key theme behind ‘Duality’ is collaboration. The album featured an eclectic cast of collaborators, friends old and new: Asbjørn, Alison May, Audrey Brazelle, Dave Thomas Junior, Kaleena Zanders and more. The ‘Duality’ (Remixed) package continues this motif, with Andrew collaborating with Farius, Alex Sonata & TheRio and Elevven on club mixes of ‘Under Pressure’, ‘Equal’ and ‘Matriarch’ respectively.

Anjunabeats Rising graduate and emerging star Laura van Dam contributes a progressive mix of ‘Chaos’, while label mainstay Genix adds a techno spin to album opener ‘No Silence’ - Genix and Bayer previously released ‘The Test’ in December 2020, and worked together on a club mix of ‘Hold On To You’ from Bayer’s ‘In My Last Life’ album. Matt Lange returns to the label after nearly four years to rework ‘I Would’, and album collaborator Kaleena Zanders’ ‘Broke It’ mix offers an electronica twist on uplifting Pride anthem ‘Break The Rules’. The remix package concludes with a stripped-down version of ‘Equal’, recorded at Above & Beyond’s Hello Studios in September 2022.

For the past decade, Andrew Bayer has been a pivotal artist on Anjunabeats, influencing the trance genre and shaping the label's direction.

In 2010, while studying at Berklee College of Music, Andrew joined Above & Beyond in London, collaborating closely with them. He spent 7 transformative years in the city, building his solo career and dealing with personal challenges, including his brother's illness and coming out to his family. Stranded in London due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland, Andrew experienced isolation and grief, but eventually found love and support when he came out to his family and met his now husband, Allan.

This newfound love and acceptance profoundly impacted Andrew's music, transitioning from negative emotions to celebrating love and joy. Andrew's own album "In My Last Life" became a testament to collaboration and self-expression, celebrating friendships, the queer community, and the love he had found.

With his latest double album "Duality," Andrew aimed to present his authentic self, merging alternative, pop, and club dance music while amplifying LGBTQ voices. The songwriting collaborations, like the one with Alison May and Asbjorn, created an intimate and trusting process, allowing Andrew to embrace himself and shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes of dance music—the songwriters.

Andrew Bayer and Elevven join forces to remix ‘Matriarch’ from Andrew’s fourth studio album, 'Duality'. Shahin Kanafchian and Swapneel Ukhalkar, aka Elevven, made their Anjunabeats debut with a remix of Gabriel & Dresden's 'You', recorded in collaboration with Myon, which went on to become one of Above & Beyond's top tracks of 2018.

The pair kicked off last year with a remix of 7 Skies’ ‘Sushi’, which climbed to #2 on the Beatport Trance Chart and was debuted by Above & Beyond in their ABGT450 set at The Drumsheds in London. They followed that up with a remix of Above & Beyond’s ‘Can’t Sleep’ with Ruben de Ronde, featured on Fatum's Anjunabeats Worldwide 10. Elevven’s first original release on Anjunabeats, ‘The Distance’, was released on the label in March 2023.

Debuted by Andrew to 20,000 fans at Above & Beyond’s sold-out Group Therapy 500 celebrations in Los Angeles last October, it’s the first remix to be revealed from Andrew’s fourth studio album 'Duality'. The string-laden closer to 'Duality pt. 1', 'Equal' saw Andrew collaborate with Danish singer-songwriter Asbjørn, previously heard as the voice of his 2015 trance smash, 'Super Human'. One of two collaborations between the pair across 'Duality pt. 1', Andrew and Asbjørn performed 'Equal' together on the main stage of Group Therapy Weekender London in September 2022.

Hailing from Scotland and Italy, production duo Alex Sonata & TheRio have rapidly ascended in the global trance scene. The pair first teamed up in 2018; after several collaborations, they made it official in 2020, and Alex Sonata & TheRio was born. They've released a string of explosive club tracks on Anjunabeats including 'Breath Of The Wild', 'Cala Luna', 'Time' and 'Are We Dreaming', and performed at Creamfields and Group Therapy Weekender London last year.

On ‘Duality pt. 2’, Andrew takes the energy and BPM up a gear with ten tracks of cutting-edge club sounds - avant-garde sensibilities, aimed straight at the dancefloor. Over the past few months, Andrew has taken 'Duality pt. 2' around the world, performing at Anjunabeats star-studded takeover of New York City's Brooklyn Mirage; Above & Beyond's Group Therapy Weekender festivals at The Gorge and Dockyards London; and most recently, Group Therapy 500 at Banc of California Stadium, Los Angeles.

'Duality pt. 2' kicks off with 'Midnight', featuring vocals from long-term friend and collaborator Alison May and a go-to club smash in Above & Beyond's recent DJ sets. Red Dragons add their heavenly tones on the hypnotic ‘DNA’, before Bayer’s take on bass-lead electro with ‘Greater Chances’ (featuring OLAN).

A favourite from recent DJ sets and included on Anjunabeats Volume 16, ‘On Tape’ takes things into epic peak-time progressive trance territory. ‘I Would’ (with Alison May and Grandfather Machine) offers a beautiful downtempo moment, before ‘Break The Rules’ (with Kaleena Zanders) offers an uplifting take on self-love, personal truth and the isolation of queer identity.

Other highlights include ‘What Is Real’ (with Vök), the stunning instrumental synth crescendos of ‘If You Loop It, They Will Come’, and closing track ‘Pulse’ (with OLAN).
