Jan Blomqvist expands the world of MUTE with new remixes from Helsloot, Ae:ther and Xinobi, each offering a fresh perspective on the albums introspective core. Joined by earlier reinterpretations from Animal Trainer, Andrea Oliva and Arodes, the collection reshapes MUTE into a deeper, more dynamic journey while staying true to its reflective spirit.

[item value="10"]Jan Blomqvist - MUTE Remixed [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Jan Blomqvist’s MUTE Remixed is a masterclass in modern electronic production, offering a vivid exploration of melodic house and techno that demonstrates both technical precision and emotional depth. The new remixes by Helsloot, Ae:ther, and Xinobi expand the original album into a multi-faceted soundscape, each track highlighting a different aspect of Blomqvist’s introspective core. Helsloot’s 125 BPM version leans into a driving, cinematic melodic house and techno arrangement, with crystalline synth layers, tightly compressed percussion, and subtle sidechained pads that create a forward-moving kinetic energy. Ae:ther follows at 122 BPM with a dreamy, groovy, and harmonically rich interpretation, where reverb-drenched plucks and warm low-end frequencies evoke an immersive, late-night atmosphere. Xinobi’s 123 BPM take brings a deeper house influence, focusing on syncopated basslines, intricate hi-hat programming, and balanced stereo imaging to enhance the track’s spatial design. Each remix exemplifies high-level sound design and modern production techniques. The dynamic range management is notable, ensuring that the tracks maintain clarity even at peak club volumes while preserving headroom for drops and transitions. Elements such as filtered risers, granular texture layers, and stereo-panned arpeggios contribute to the feeling of 3D immersion. The remixes also excel in their use of spatial effects—delays and reverbs are automated to create evolving environments that guide the listener through each musical chapter. The BPM consistency across the remixes makes them highly mixable for DJs, and their intros and outros are thoughtfully structured to integrate seamlessly into live sets. Research in music therapy and cognitive neuroscience suggests that rhythmic, melodic, and harmonically rich electronic music can reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance focus. Studies by Thoma et al. (2013) and Koelsch (2015) have shown that immersive music experiences can lower cortisol levels and activate brain regions associated with emotional regulation. The steady BPM range of MUTE Remixed tracks aligns well with the optimal tempo for moderate cardiovascular exercise and yoga flow sessions, making them suitable for fitness and wellness environments. The hypnotic repetition, combined with evolving harmonic layers, encourages a meditative mental state, which has been linked to increased endorphin release and improved mental clarity. In the context of group fitness classes or wellness activities, this music fosters a sense of collective energy while also allowing space for introspection. Its deep, cinematic textures promote mindfulness, while the rhythmically engaging structure supports synchronized movement in dance or exercise routines. Blomqvist’s remixes thus occupy a dual role: they energize the body and soothe the mind, embodying the therapeutic potential of melodic electronic music. #PureGold Love iT [/content]

South African AfroTech powerhouses Karyendasoul and Drega unite on ‘Don Rosado’, a landmark collaboration between two of the genre’s most forward-thinking artists.

A defining voice in modern South African dance music, Karyendasoul continues to shape the sound of contemporary AfroTech. Behind the RiSA-certified platinum hit ‘iMali’ featuring Nana Atta which spent five weeks at #1 on South African radio, he’s become a trusted name for both club-driven and emotionally rich productions. His ‘Oh, Hello EP’ released in 2025 drew heavyweight support from Black Coffee, Zakes Bantwini, Francis Mercier, Shimza, and Marsh, while he remains a regular fixture across major editorial playlists such as Spotify’s AfroTech Now. On the live front, Karyendasoul’s profile has surged through key appearances at Tomorrowland in 2024, a recent Shimza & Friends event at the 10,000-capacity Durban Exhibition Centre, and the Black Coffee Foundation Benefit Concert held at Melrose Arch in November 2025. Upcoming Anjunadeep shows for Karyendasoul include open air events in Johannesburg and Cape Town in April, plus a 2026 return to Anjunadeep Explorations Festival in Albania.

A groundbreaking producer with global reach, Drega brings equally impressive credentials. His production work on Nomcebo Zikode, Wouter Kellerman and Zakes Bantwini’s ‘Bayethe’ earned him GRAMMY-Award winning status at the 65th annual ceremony in 2023, with the record picking up ‘Best Global Music Performance’. His recent Kharnju II EP garnered support from Black Coffee, and he continues to expand his international footprint with exciting activations like a filmed DJ set recorded at KODA in Nairobi in November 2025. Drega closes out the year with a headline performance at Wanderbay Festival on new year’s eve alongside Karyendasoul. Both artists stand at the forefront of AfroTech’s global rise, each with recent projects championed by key tastemakers on a global scale.

Karyendasoul and Drega’s ‘Don Rosado’ is out now on Anjunadeep.

[review top="1"]
[item value="10"] Karyendasoul & Drega - Don Rosado[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Karyendasoul and Drega’s collaboration on Don Rosado is a stunning example of AfroTech mastery, fusing deep tribal grooves with highly emotive melodic structures. The track sits comfortably at 120 BPM, positioning it as both an introspective listening experience and a dancefloor-ready piece. From the opening bars, the production showcases a meticulously layered foundation of pulsating basslines, syncopated percussions, and cinematic chorus voices that immediately establish a moody yet uplifting atmosphere. The use of tribal drums and rhythmic shakers creates a driving groove that is immersive and texturally rich, perfectly supporting the track’s harmonic and melodic layers. From a technical perspective, the sound design and production quality are exceptional. The low-end energy is carefully balanced with the mid-range melodic elements, resulting in a warm, full-bodied mix that retains clarity throughout its dynamic range. Beautiful piano chords provide harmonic depth, while subtle reverb and delay effects create a spacious, three-dimensional soundscape. The track’s transitions and build-ups are executed with precision, using filtering automation and dynamic layering to maintain energy flow and momentum. This ensures that each drop lands with maximum emotional and rhythmic impact, ideal for club and festival environments. Additionally, the mix demonstrates a superb loudness balance, avoiding over-compression while maintaining a polished and professional sonic signature. The arrangement is a testament to both originality and cohesion. Karyendasoul and Drega employ progressive layering techniques to guide the listener through a journey that feels both cinematic and deeply personal. The track’s intro and outro structures are DJ-friendly, offering clean cue points and loop potential for seamless integration into live sets. This makes Don Rosado not only a rewarding listening experience but also a versatile tool for professional DJs seeking dynamic energy flow in their performances. Beyond its technical excellence, Don Rosado can have profound positive effects on mental health and overall well-being. Research has shown that rhythmic music at moderate tempos, especially in the 110–125 BPM range, can enhance mood, reduce anxiety, and improve focus (Thoma et al., 2013). The track’s combination of driving beats and emotive harmonies is ideal for fitness and wellness classes, including yoga flow or dance-based cardio sessions, where music synchronization with movement enhances physical performance and perceived exertion (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). Furthermore, the atmospheric and immersive qualities of AfroTech music can facilitate meditative states, promoting relaxation and cognitive restoration (Koelsch, 2010). In group settings, tracks like Don Rosado can foster a sense of communal euphoria, which has been linked to the release of endorphins and improved overall social bonding (Dunbar et al., 2012). Emotional resonance is perhaps the strongest aspect of this release. The track’s melancholic yet hopeful tone elicits a deep visceral response, making it highly replayable and memorable. For audiences seeking both mental engagement and physical stimulation, Don Rosado succeeds as a work of art and as a tool for enhancing human experience through music. #PureGold Loveit[/content]

A long-time fan favorite, the track has been setting the pace as the duo’s go-to opener at major shows – from 909 Festival in Amsterdam to London’s fabric and their BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

Having stunned crowds for the past few months with this track as their set opener, Grammy-winning electronic music pioneers Deep Dish return with their highly anticipated second single following the end of a decade-long hiatus: ‘Dreaming’, featuring the hauntingly beautiful vocals, written and performed by acclaimed singer-songwriter Malou.

Continuing the momentum of their comeback, Deep Dish made a memorable debut at Glastonbury this year, playing two standout sets at the world-renowned festival last month. During their set at the Glade Area stage, Malou joined the pair for the first-ever live edition of ‘Dreaming’, met with an ecstatic crowd eager for their mind-melding performance.

The track effortlessly blends Deep Dish’s iconic driving, melodic grooves with Malou’s melancholic vocal, resulting in a powerful and immersive soundscape. The track evokes a sense of nostalgia while pushing forward with a modern production edge, delivering an instant classic for fans of timeless electronic music.
“We wanted to create something that reflects where we’ve been, where we are, and where we're going,” said Deep Dish. “Working with Malou was incredibly inspiring; her voice brought an entirely new dimension to this project. And which better place to play it live together for the first time than at Glastonbury?
Malou adds: "I love the song Dreaming! When I was in the room with Deep Dish we created so many good songs but Dreaming is definitely the one where I feel most myself! One of my favorites."
Deep Dish, comprised of Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi, have been at the forefront of electronic music for over two decades. Known for their influential remixes and genre-defining originals, their return to the studio – and the stage – has been met with global excitement from the dance music scene.

About Deep Dish

It’s hard to believe, but the Grammy-winning Washington D.C. duo Deep Dish are now three decades into their storied production career.

Their seminal debut album Junk Science home to classics like ‘Stay Gold’ and the Everything But The Girl collaboration ‘The Future of the Future’ has long been a staple on streaming platforms. But in summer 2024, their chart-topping second album ‘George Is On’ finally made its long-awaited digital debut. Thanks to a new partnership with Armada Music, fan favourites like ‘Say Hello’, ‘Dreams’ and ‘Flashdance’, along with remixes by Steve Angello, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta and more, are now available on all major streaming and download services for the first time.

And that was only the beginning…

Spring 2025 marks a bold new era for Deep Dish as they release their first original music in over a decade. ‘Midnight’, the lead single from a forthcoming series, signals a return not just to form, but to forward motion - new music, fresh collaborators, evolving styles, and a revitalized tour schedule.

This next phase isn’t just a reunion, it’s a reinvention. With eyes on the future and roots planted firmly in their legacy, Deep Dish are ready to write the next chapter in their ongoing journey through sound. Exciting times lie ahead.

Anjunadeep finally share the brilliant second album from Japanese producer Momiji Tsukada, aka Qrion. ‘We Are Always Under The Same Sky’ is an uplifting and confident work that was challenging to make, but perhaps all the better for it…

Momi was born in Sapporo, Japan to a family who supported her passions and told her that “being different is okay, and even cool” - particularly powerful in a culture that Momi describes as conformist. It was not all plain sailing though, and the death of her father took a toll on the whole family. Making music began to function for her as something akin to “exposure therapy”, a way to “connect with her memories in a meaningful way”.

It’s been a decade since Momi moved to America, having initially visited and fallen in love with San Francisco on a fortnight-long visit. It was here that she made a lot of friends, including Spencer Brown, and eventually joined the Anjunadeep fold with her ‘Sapporo EP’. Just two years later, her debut album ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’ was released to great acclaim, and her impact on the label was cemented.

After this however, Momi’s struggles with addiction worsened and she found herself unable to create for over 18 months. She went to rehab, and subsequently got sober - a wonderful development in her personal life, but one that left her asking herself, if “sadness and loneliness” were her biggest sources of inspiration, would she still be able to create music if she was stable and happy?

In 2024, she tackled this question head-on, and cites the year as a “turning point and wake-up call to learn to love [herself]”. Today’s new album ‘We Are All Under The Same Sky’ is a stunning testament to Momi’s resilience and her journey of “overcoming challenges and forgiving [herself]”. Anjunadeep team is very proud to release it, and look forward to hearing it on the dancefloor this year.

‘We Are Always Under The Same Sky’ on Vinyl
As Momi’s new album is such an intimate work it was only fitting for our vinyl pressing to be just as personal as the music…

Featuring vibrant artwork designed by Chinese-American animator and illustrator Zee Yorke, ‘We Are Always Under The Same Sky’ is pressed to Anjuna’s first picture disc and is available exclusively on the Anjuna Music Store.

The design features flowers that Momi used to draw when she was in rehab, and the back of the vinyl is set in the Bay Area of California where she used to sit and ponder the future when she lived in San Francisco.

The vinyl also comes with a four-page recipe booklet that features three of Momi's most cherished recipes that have accompanied her throughout her life and that help her feel at home wherever on the globe she is.

After taking a well-earned break in her native Japan over the holidays, Momi is ready to bring her new album ‘We Are Always Under The Same Sky’ on tour across North America.

Opening up a new chapter with a full-length album coming in 2025

Belgian-based artist with Southern Italian roots Cellini arrives on CORE Records with his brand-new single ‘Body From Mind’. Opening up a new chapter with a full-length album coming in 2025, ‘Body From Mind’ arises from a deeply rooted curiosity about the lives and stories that could have run parallel to Cellini’s. It reflects on the choices of his grandparents, which separated him from the roots that have been anchored in Southern Italy for generations. This experience brings constant uncertainty and doubt about what home really means.

Cellini creates percussion-driven and dancefloor-ready electronic music inspired by traditional influences from the Mediterranean landscape. Celebrating diversity and cultural exchange, fusing European dancefloor-ready genres and a range of musical traditions.
Cellini: “In this in-between position, my music takes shape and thrives precisely there. Melancholy is amplified and anchored in the melodies and lyrics. On one hand, I feel a deep, spiritual connection with the mountains where my ancestors have lived for generations. On the other hand, there is the place where my new life has formed through the immigration of our family. It's an acknowledgment of the complexity of my identity and a celebration of the unique experience of balancing between different cultures and traditions.”

About Cellini

Meet Gianmarco Cellini, a Belgian-based artist with Italian roots who creates percussion-driven and dancefloor-ready electronic music.

In the past decade, Cellini has established himself as a versatile artist known for his eclectic DJ sets that take ravers in many different directions. The common thread remains a percussion-based setup that enchants new fans and seasoned ravers alike. Having already played hundreds of nightclubs and festivals around the globe, this man has a clear talent for reading the crowd and creating an energetic and engaging atmosphere in whichever style he likes.

However, his true passion is making live music where he can showcase his unique sound even better. Drawing influence from his Mediterranean roots, Cellini often finds harmony in combining traditional drums and samples with contemporary club sounds. The music is characterized by infectious flows, driving basslines, and intricate percussion – as can be heard on his latest single ‘Body From Mind’ with fellow Belgian artist AMOS. He uses a variety of instruments, including live percussion, to create a rich and textured outcome that sounds both organic and electronic.

Throughout his career, Cellini has received opportunities to play alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, including Daphni and Bonobo. In addition, he has toured extensively throughout Europe and Latin America, gaining fans and recognition for his dynamic performances.

Overall, Cellini’s music celebrates diversity and cultural exchange, fusing European dancefloor-ready genres and various musical traditions to create something new and exciting. His sound is equally modern and timeless, reflecting his unique perspective on electronic music.

Sometimes all it takes is a single thought on a red wine-soaked night, for life to take a completely new course.

Five years ago, one of these thoughts came racing through the mind of Samy Jackson, known as one half of the internationally renowned DJ duo, Animal Trainer. That was the night the song "Shells" came to life, completely different to anything else he had created with Animal Trainer: Not a song for the dance floor, but one for home.

From that moment on, Samy felt a growing desire to produce more of this type of music. Music that is not out to make people fidget. Rather, melancholic music with lots of space between the sounds, spherical and inviting as opposed to demanding.

Then, about two years ago and following a difficult time in his life, Samy decided to give in to his now urgent desire and tackle his first album under the name Iron Mayhem. It was to have 8 songs and the title "Altstetten" had already been decided. Altstetten, not only because moving to this district marked the end of a dark period in his life, but also because Altstetten is where he found love. For him it is not just a place, but a state of mind.

This new version of ALTSTETTEN (revisited) includes some previously unreleased songs & remixes.

A genre-bending anthem infused with his Dirty South roots and destined to dominate dancefloors worldwide

Hampton Roads native and dance music maestro Afriqua returns with ‘Take it 2 Da House’, a genre-bending anthem infused with his Dirty South roots and destined to dominate dancefloors worldwide. Fresh off the international buzz of ‘Da Whip’, championed by heavyweights like Seth Troxler, Pete Tong, and DJ Tennis, Afriqua pushes the boundaries anew. This time, he pulls once again on his Miami influences, and masterfully flips Trick Daddy's iconic ‘Take it to the House’, weaving it into the fabric of "the most hi-fi lo-fi house track of all time”.

Hampton Roads, Virginia might be renowned for the legendary work of The Neptunes, Timbaland, and Missy Elliot, but it's not exactly known for its dance music scene. With ‘Take it 2 Da House’, Afriqua rewrites the narrative. This modern dance floor weapon draws not only from the Miami Bass and Dirty South sounds of his youth, but also the Midwest house music traditions that shaped his sonic identity.

More than a track, ‘Take it 2 Da House’ is a statement. Afriqua, the sole Hampton Roads representative in the international dance music scene, proudly wears his southern influences while carving a future-forward soundscape. Pulsating spacey loops, gritty basslines, vocal samples, and Afriqua's signature production prowess blur the lines between genres and eras, creating a hypnotic experience destined to ignite dancefloors worldwide.

About Afriqua

For Afriqua, genre is just a limit to the imagination. Born Adam Longman Parker, Afriqua remembers being inspired by locals like Pharrell, Timbaland and Missy Elliott as he was being raised in Virginia. With the instincts of a classically trained musician and the hip-hop sensibilities of a turntablist, the Berlin-based creator blends gleaming disco with energetic house and techno for dancefloor excursions that defy classification. After his parents won a raffle for piano lessons at their synagogue, Afriqua found himself immersed in music. By age 12, he’d placed at the DMC World DJ Championship. After graduating high school, he enrolled in London’s prestigious Royal Academy of Music. From there, he traveled to Berlin where he established himself as a popular DJ in area clubs and beyong. After releasing stellar one-off singles throughout the 2010s, Afriqua continued building momentum with ‘Colored’ (2019), his debut LP on R&S records, and self-released singles like ‘Always’ (2022). His shapeshifting musicality and knack for experimentation led to his latest adventure as the first signing of CORE Records, a brand-new boutique label within Tomorrowland. With a new deal and a formidable EP at his back, Afriqua is set to reach new heights in 2023.

A blend of electronic jazz infused with diverse musical influences

CORE Records is delighted to present ‘Equinox’, the first track of the debut album from the Johannes Brecht Trio, recorded at Brewery Studios in Berlin. This album, a blend of electronic jazz infused with diverse musical influences, is a culmination of Johannes Brecht's innovative vision, brought to life with the collaboration of talented musicians. Johannes wanted to disappear from the scene in a metaphysical way and let the idea of a jazz trio rise as to replace him as a pure solo artist. Having found two magnificent jazz players that recorded the entire album with him, Antonio Farris and Matteo Capreoli are completing the trio.

Johannes Brecht: “With my trio, I'm starting something new, a new project with a debut album, but I'm also returning to my musical roots. I have always played together with other musicians, be it in classical chamber music or later in jazz in various ensembles. I am happy and grateful to be able to bring everything back together.”

The haunting ‘Equinox’ showcases the trio's ability to conjure a sound that is both ethereal and grounded, with the Fender Rhodes once again taking center stage. An equilibrium and melodic moment in the journey of the album, where shadow equals sun. Johannes Brecht's evolution as an artist is evident in this work, which promises to captivate and inspire audiences with its immersive atmosphere.

About Johannes Brecht

It is merely impossible to not call electronic producer and live act Johannes Brecht a “real musician”.

His childhood and adolescence is deeply rooted in classical music; countless first prizes in national competitions followed by stellar university degrees as Jazz bass player and pianist seemed to have forecast his fate as instrumentalist pretty clearly. But, as usual when you make plans, suddenly life happens.

In his case it’s the love for electronic music, which he discovered in 2013 – and which luckily threw all his previous plans overboard. For then, as Jazz and classical music moved way into the background, the electronic music artist Johannes Brecht was born.

First EPs on Mule Musiq, Pokerflat Recordings and Sunday Music were followed by collaborations with Stimming and Henrik Schwarz as well as multiple releases on Solomun’s label Diynamic Music.

Most notably was the elegiacally light track “Voix Grave” from 2016, which hit #1 in Beatport’s “Deep House” chart. Its successor “Page Blanche” found its way into the computer game giant “Grand Theft Auto V”.

Johannes Brecht prefers to keep his private life to himself, while his music he loves to present on all sorts of stages. Be it in a flowstone cave, devoid of all audience, for the French live streaming pioneers Cercle

or on the legendary “Turmbühne” of Fusion Festival in Germany in front of 20.000 people. His music remains the same – the electronic oeuvre never fully conceals his classical roots.

The good thing is that his string and wind arrangements are able to do much more than they were back in the days, and that is to make people dance. Some journalists refer to it as “Chamber Techno”, he just calls it “my music”.

From his native Stuttgart out into the whole world he now tours with his live set: from Exit Festival in Serbia to Tomorrowland in Belgium, from underground clubs like Trouw in Amsterdam or KaterBlau in Berlin, Cityfox events in New York City, to extensive North and South America tours. For the live act Johannes Brecht has found a home in the world of electronic music.

His affair with the piano he expresses in his “Imperfect Moments” series, which he releases exclusively on Spotify since 2018. His passion for Jazz he carries into the experimental duo “Brecht/Lillinger”.

On the great stages of this world you will always be hearing the electronic music artist Johannes Brecht, as this is where his creative energy coalesces. Almost as if it had all been planned out…
