[item value="10"]Disco Dice - Silver Surfer (Sunny Lax Remix & Lexy Chae remixes) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Disco Dice’s reinterpretation of Silver Surfer, coupled with Sunny Lax and Lexy Chae’s remixes, delivers an extraordinary package of sonic engineering. The Sunny Lax remix at 134 BPM embodies the essence of classic uplifting trance, with driving basslines and tight rhythmic grooves that lock the listener into a seamless flow. Its punchy drums and thumping kicks create a rhythmic foundation that is both dynamic and responsive, enabling smooth transitions and fluid energy flow throughout the track. The careful layering of melodic hooks and harmonic progressions enhances the track’s emotional resonance while maintaining a cohesive structure that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. The production quality is top-tier, demonstrating exceptional sound design, spatial imaging, and dynamic range. Sunny Lax’s attention to the balance of frequencies ensures that every element—from the airy leads to the sub-bass foundation—sits perfectly in the mix. Transitions, drops, and build-ups unfold naturally, with subtle use of effects and automation to heighten tension and create satisfying releases of energy. The result is a remix that feels immersive and atmospheric, drawing the listener into a journey that effortlessly combines technical mastery with creative expression. Lexy Chae’s 150 BPM remix offers a different but equally captivating experience, leaning into the hard dance and hands-up territory with metallic kicks, rough basslines, and high-energy percussion. The higher tempo injects an intense energy flow and momentum that is perfectly suited for fitness and wellness environments, such as high-intensity interval training or cycling classes. Scientific studies have shown that music above 140 BPM can enhance exercise performance, prolong endurance, and improve mood by stimulating dopaminergic pathways in the brain (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012; Thaut et al., 2015). The hard dance interpretation’s dynamic energy, coupled with familiar melodies, ensures strong crowd reaction potential and powerful emotional resonance, making it a perfect fit for both club and festival settings. Both remixes excel in originality of arrangement and artistic identity. They respect the melody of the original while reinventing it for modern audiences, demonstrating expert use of effects, spatial design, and looping potential for DJs. The consistency in BPM and careful intro/outro structures make both versions highly performance-friendly, offering cue points and seamless sync capabilities for professional sets. Additionally, the tracks present a cohesive narrative arc, encouraging listeners to experience a journey rather than a static repetition of motifs. From a wellness perspective, music of this caliber has been linked to improved mood, reduced stress, and enhanced cognitive performance. Trance and hard dance in particular can provide a meditative, euphoric effect, supporting mental health by reducing cortisol levels and engaging the brain’s reward centers (Lin et al., 2019). In group exercise settings, the synchronization of movement to high-energy beats can foster a sense of community, increase adherence to physical activity, and heighten overall enjoyment. Ultimately, this package is a masterclass in electronic music production, with tracks that are as technically proficient as they are emotionally and physically stimulating. The combination of high production standards, innovative arrangements, and scientifically supported wellness benefits makes these remixes a top-tier addition to both personal playlists and professional DJ sets. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

[item value="10"]Sunny Lax - Eternal Return[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Sunny Lax’s Eternal Return EP is a masterclass in progressive trance production, demonstrating not just melodic sensibility but also a deep understanding of modern mixing and sound design. Across its four tracks, Sunny Lax leverages precise arrangement techniques, advanced synthesis, and spatial engineering to craft a release that DJs will enthusiastically embrace for its club-ready structures and dynamic sonic palette. 1. Amadeus, Opening the EP at 128 BPM, Amadeus immediately sets a high production standard. The track is driven by a layered sub and mid-bass combination, carefully sidechained to the kick to maintain low-end clarity. Sunny Lax utilizes a mix of analog-modeled plucks and airy arpeggiators, enhanced with wide stereo imaging and long-tail reverb sends to create a cinematic sense of space. The percussion design is crisp yet unobtrusive, with transient shaping used to allow the hats and claps to cut through without masking the melodic elements. DJs will appreciate the extended intro and outro sections, which feature filtered elements and consistent energy, making this track exceptionally easy to mix into a set. 2. Samsara, Continuing the journey with hypnotic intensity, Samsara thrives on a rolling bassline that subtly morphs via modulation automation, adding movement without overloading the mix. The hi-hat programming evolves across the arrangement, starting with closed, dry textures and opening into brighter, more washy hats during the peak sections. Sound design here leans on FM pads and granular layers to create a euphoric yet controlled atmosphere, perfect for mid-set progression. DJs will love the track’s energy curve: smooth frequency builds, tasteful uplifters, and breakdowns that resolve into satisfying drops without abrupt transitions. 3. Eternal Return, The title track is the emotional centerpiece of the EP. Built on a foundation of deep, rolling low-end, Sunny Lax employs multi-band compression to keep the bass tight while leaving room for soaring leads in the upper spectrum. The breakdown showcases his cinematic instincts, stripping back to lush pads, reversed effects, and melodic swells that bloom into a wide stereo field. Subtle automation of reverb and delay parameters gives the leads a floating quality that resonates on large sound systems. Its carefully structured phrasing ensures DJs can cue and loop the track’s climactic sections with ease, making it a reliable peak-time weapon. 4. Troth, Closing the EP at a slightly slower 125 BPM, Troth delves into darker territory. The basslines are gritty and lightly saturated, achieving warmth through harmonic layering rather than sheer volume. Minimal percussion—accented by precisely timed shakers, rim hits, and short reverb tails—creates tension while leaving headroom for the moody melodic motifs to unfold. LFO-driven filter sweeps and subtle automation inject life into the arrangement, rewarding attentive listeners while providing DJs with a versatile transition track to bridge into deeper progressive or melodic techno segments. Why DJs Will Adore This EP: Club-Optimized Structure: Each track features extended intros and outros, giving DJs plenty of room for seamless mixing. Dynamic Energy Curves: The EP balances hypnotic progression with powerful drops, ideal for constructing fluid set narratives. Polished Production: Crystal-clear mixing and careful frequency management ensure these tracks translate perfectly from headphones to large festival systems. Emotional Versatility: From euphoric peaks to moody closers, the EP offers tools for different moments in a set. Sunny Lax’s Eternal Return is not only a testament to his technical expertise but also an EP that speaks directly to DJs seeking tracks that combine musicality, functionality, and immersive sound design. #PureGold Love iT [/content]

Seventeen years after his first release on the label, Sunny Lax brings fans his debut album, 'Crystals', out now on Anjunabeats.

Levente Márton, known worldwide as Sunny Lax, has been a mainstay on the Anjunabeats roster since making his label debut with 'P.U.M.A. / Casseopeia' back in 2006. Over thirty releases later, he delivers his first official LP.

'Crystals' marks the pinnacle of a story that began in November 2022 with the release of Sunny's 'Emerald EP'. His 'Ruby' and 'Amethyst' EPs, which followed in early 2023, were the next stages in an expanding and evolving body of work. Now, combined with five new tracks, 'Crystals' sees Sunny unify these EPs into a 14 track album.

Levente was born in Romania to Hungarian parents and moved to Dunaharaszti, a small town near Budapest, when he was four. His musical journey began when he was just 13. Levente's sister worked in the city library and brought home CDs for him to listen to. "There were a lot of artists from different genres," he explains. He learnt how to produce after watching tutorials on free CDs from magazines, and soon spent his spare time perfecting chord progressions and melodies.

Levente wasn't initially interested in clubbing, and didn't learn to DJ until after his first release in 2006. "Back in those days you had to send CDs to labels in the post," Márton says. "I sent 'Cassiopeia' and 'P.U.M.A.' to 9 or 10 different labels, and Anjuna loved them." Above & Beyond played 'P.U.M.A.' four times in a row on their Trance Around The World radio show.
As festival bookings racked up and his career grew, Levente continued to work at his local library, enjoying the stability of his day job alongside the excitement and pace of his life in music. But after releasing his track 'Enceladus' in 2015, everything changed. "That's still my most popular track," he says. "So many big artists played it at huge events."
The success of 'Enceladus' was unplanned. Levente remembers messing around in his studio, relaxed, happy and with no intention of producing a hit. "Sometimes when you're in that state something pure and effortless comes out," he says. "I think trance is an excellent tool to share emotions," he says. "I know my productions are my way of channelling my emotions."
'Crystals' is inspired by Levente's increased spiritual awareness as a result of the pandemic. "Everything is a vibration, and there's an organising pattern behind everything," he says. "Certain crystal structures can elevate and heal, some can impact your mood."
"My debut album, 'Crystals,' is a musical journey as colourful as the different minerals found in the earth. It's a collection of distinct musical gems, each with its own unique attributes and energy. I poured my heart, soul, and 20+ years of musical experience into crafting this mix. It's a tribute to the power of music to heal, uplift, unite, and transport us to different worlds. Through heartwarming melodies, heavy rhythms, and experimental sounds, I invite you to join me on a journey of self-discovery and inspiration. It's a celebration of the ups and downs of life, of the beauty and challenges we all face, and of the resilience of the human spirit. Let the music take you on a journey and create memories that will last a lifetime." - Sunny Lax

Sunny Lax releases the ‘Amethyst EP’, out now on Anjunabeats.

One of our most beloved artists, Levente Márton, aka Sunny Lax, has been part of our family since 'P.U.M.A / Cassiopeia' in 2006. “Back in those days you had to send CDs to labels in the post,” Márton says. “I sent ‘Cassiopeia’ and ‘P.U.M.A’ to nine or ten different labels, and Anjuna loved them.” Above & Beyond played ‘P.U.M.A’ four times in a row on their Trance Around The World radio show, and Armin van Buuren subsequently made ‘P.U.M.A’ the Record Of The Week and featured it on his ASOT Yearmix Album in 2005. A star was born.

Since then, Sunny Lax has grown and flourished alongside Anjunabeats. “Back then I produced 140BPM uplifting trance, and we did that together for six years,” Levente says. “But then everything started changing around 2011.” Spearheaded by Above & Beyond, ilan Bluestone, Oliver Smith and Sunny, a cleaner, more progressive trance sound emerged.

Many of Sunny Lax's productions in this era drove the 'trance 2.0' sound forward. 2015’s 'Enceladus' is a fine example. “That’s still my most popular track,” he says. “So many big artists played it at huge events.” The success of ‘Enceladus’ was unplanned. Levente remembers messing around in his studio, relaxed, happy and with no intention of producing a hit. “Sometimes when you’re in that state something pure and effortless comes out,” he says. Its place in Anjuna legend was cemented by Sunny dropping 'Enceladus' to 20,000 fans at Above & Beyond's Group Therapy 250 celebrations at the Gorge, alongside fellow Anjunabeats stalwart and good friend Genix.

In recent years, Sunny's trademark melodic trance sound has been a cornerstone of Anjunabeats' release schedule: highlights include 'Solar Plexus', 'Losing It', 'V.I.B.E.' and 2020's 'End Of Our Time EP'. He's headlined shows across the globe and has been a regular guest at Anjunabeats' label showcases, plus recently supporting Above & Beyond on their Anjunafamily Reunion Tour and at their Group Therapy Weekender London festival.

The ‘Amethyst EP’ is Sunny’s final release ahead of his forthcoming debut album. The follow-up to his recent ‘Ruby’ and ‘Emerald’ EPs, supported by Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Gabriel & Dresden, Tritonal and more, it showcases three more uplifting tracks from Sunny's arsenal.
“The 'Amethyst EP' is a tribute to the power of music and its ability to heal and uplift our spirits. I wanted to create a collection of tracks that not only evoke nostalgia and fond memories, but also provide a sense of joy and inner peace." - Sunny Lax
We’re excited to see Sunny behind the decks at our Anjunabeats Pool Party in Miami on March 26, as well as Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge. Tickets on sale now (https://anjunabeats.com/events).

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Sunny Lax is constantly servicing with quality club tracks that escape any easy classification as there are truly hybrids of various sounds and styles. His  Ruby EP exemplifies his ability to play with the codes and conventions of the genres and come up with something more exciting that trance and progressive fans and DJs will appreciate for sure if they are openminded of course. Archons is dark, pounding and irresistible with chunky grooves, greedy basslines, thumping percussion and cool melody that has mystery attached to it. The breakdown reveals the main large melody along with an ethnic infused sample. The climax moves merges all the elements together for an exciting ride. By my side adopts deeper basslines, wonky grooves and applies magical female vocals that work perfectly to create the blissful magical experience perfectly catering for the large sound systems with nice glorious glacier shinning sound effects and melodies. The climax goes the euphoric feel good hands in the air climax that will bring crowds together dancing and swinging along. Sunny Lax & Kyss track Harayn has superb bouncy basslines, thumping grooves, chopped vocal samples and great rhythm. Melodies are coming to create a much more upfront result that is deeper but still hopeful and full of promises for a better future. Climax to die for soaked in melodies and harmonies to fly away. "The past few years were a rollercoaster for many of us, with all its difficulties and beauties. In these times as an artist I had the chance to slow down and pay a little more attention to my inner voice. When the world was a little too mad around me, I escaped into the music - into the heartwarming melodies, and when the world became too quiet, I filled it up with loud rhythms.

The 'Emerald EP' is a first chapter of something new. This is a journey which I hope will bring you inspiration, balance, wisdom, and patience! This journey always reminds me of one thought: anything happens in our world, good or bad: it's all about the perspective - which can give us better understanding. Hope you enjoy the ride!" - Sunny Lax

One of our most beloved Anjunafamily members, Sunny has had quite the year. He released his five-track ‘End Of Our Time’ EP on Anjunabeats in May of 2020, quickly followed by his 20 Years Of Anjunabeats compilation: a mix which included many of Sunny’s accomplished additions to our discography. He has also reworked Above & Beyond’s iconic ‘Sun In Your Eyes’, a stunning finale to Anjunabeats Volume 15.

His latest Anjunabeats EP showcases all aspects of the Sunny Lax sound in 2020. Title track ‘The Fountain’ was handpicked by Above & Beyond to feature on Anjunabeats Volume 15. Three brand new tracks, ‘Road Tested’, ‘Losing It’ and ‘Reptile’, round off this package in fine fashion.

The ‘Fountain EP’ is out now.

His proglifting sound combines heavy electroish basslines, thumping beats and of course strong melodies with some huge epic synths. The Fountain is euphoric, hands in the air and peak time as it can gets. Just brilliant and super exciting to play it in any DJ sets that require injection of immediate energy. Losing It is a deeper affair of melodic progressive trance with feel good positive hypnotic vibrations and very sweet vocal snippets that work and elevate the track to the next level. Its a journey without doubts. Reptile is a powerful tech trancer with techno style basslines, dark industrial moody synths, plenty of acid overtones and hypnotic atmosphere to make you feel like travelling to another place and time. Superb EP catering for various moments of your DJ set. #PureGold #LoveIT[/content] [/review]

Seven Lions returns on his own Ophelia Records with an old friend and collaborator in tow - Fiora. Together, they release Dreamin’ - the first single off of an EP project from Seven Lions that features the vocalist liberally throughout.

Fiora as a collaborator dates back to 2012, when she was the featured vocalist on one of Seven Lions’ most beloved tracks - Days to Come.

Dreamin’ comes on the back of yet another breakout single for Seven Lions - Ocean. A track with Jason Ross and Jonathan Mendelsohn, Ocean quickly became a set staple and anthem - a true fan favorite amongst one of dance music’s most rabid and loyal fan bases.

[item value="10"]Seven Lions feat. Fiora - Dreamin' (Remixes)[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Seven Lions is one of the finest artists with his own sound that moves between dubstep and melodic styles. His track Dreamin' with  Fiora is stand out and deserves remixes. Sunny Lax is responsible to translate it for big room trance floors and he comes up with a stellar version. Punchy basslines, thumping grooves, huge euphoric climax and the Fiora vocal that definitely will hypnotise you and uplift your spirit right to the next level. Last Heroes remix moves on the melodic dubstep direction with excellent orchestral strings, big synths, heavy basslines, tough distorted grooves and Fiora's angelic dreamy performance that simply graces the track with her spiritual touch. Finally Mazare remix starts with a nice relaxing breaks like intro and the drop goes on the melodic liquid drum n bass direction for the ultimate travelling experience within the very cinematic and truly touching sonic scenery that Mazare creates in his very unique version. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

 [item value="10"]Sunny Lax & Aneym - Counter Clockwise EP[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Sunny Lax & Aneym collaborate for the instantly loved anthem Counter Clockwise. The track is a magnificent proglifting trancer with punchy electro twisted basslines, thumping grooves, uplifting synths and Aneym stunning vocals singing lyrics that I found myself singing along from the very first listen. The drop is energetic and powerful always with that melancholic little touch! Max Freegrant and Slow Fish deliver the deep progressive version with superb bubbly grooves, rolling basslines, synthy hook that runs throughout along with melodramatic undertones to heighten its intensity while the superb vocal remains in the breakdown to elevate the track to the next level. Joel Freck remains on the same proglifting side by adding a harder edgier like rock guitar riff perfect for big sound systems. Long teasing breakdown adds emotional synths but his climax remains rough and edgy perfect to jump to the sky and beyond. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

As our first release on our brand new label we are going for something old (and classic) and something new (and bang-on point). One of the most famous melodies in trance began as a vocal on a b-side of Jan Johnston's first solo single. In 1995 it found its way to BT, who first sampled it and then asked Jan to re-sing it for his Taylor project. It was initial released in the US and then on Platipus in the UK. Remixed and re-released several times in its lif. Jan re-recorded the track in 2003 and 15 years later we are pleased to have the vocal classic as our debut track.
Jan Johnson

First up is one of the 'men of the moment' on the progressive trance scene. Italy's Gai Barone introduces his trademark muscular grooves and swirling arpeggios, all finely intertwined with Jan's vocals. We crank things up and set dials for big-room-trance as UK based Peter Steele delivers his uptempo peak time grooves to fine effect.

We head off to Hungary next for Anjuna favourite Sunny Lax with his intricate and layered progressive electronic rework. Taking a step back to its original release we include the Thrillseekers trance master class and the mellow ambient pads of the Art Of Trance Chillout version. Alternate versions from Kansai and Neo and Farina are also included on the full package.

Stay tuned for more from Solar Storm and Jan Johnston.

 [item value="10"]Jan Johnson - Calling Your Name[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Jan Johnson is one of the most beloved trance singers with incredible voice. Calling Your Name is an absolutely lovable classic with stunning remixes to die for. Gai Barone goes for his exceptional deep moody sensual sound of dark progressive that adds certain darkness and cinematic tripping out dimension to the original eternal classic. Peter Steele takes the track in his solid uplifting trance territory with application of the full emotional vocal and superb synthy melodies and warm strings that will offer you the right dose of trance class for sure. Last of the new remixes is the superb Sunny Lax who does what he knows best with thumping grooves, big room pulsating basslines, piano chords, big uplifting synths and excellent use of the brilliant classic that goes deep under your skin and will haunt you for sure. This is what I call Vocal Trance! #PureGold Love IT[/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Sunny Lax is regular provider of tasty Anjunabeats dishes and his latest creations called So Long / Obsydian will definitely catch the attention of those who like to dance the night away and let all the steam of the hardworking day go out. So Long is proglifting trancer with techy drums, wobbly basslines, big room sharp synths and excellent long and teasing breakdown with sweet piano melody and massive orchestral strings to give goosebumps. The build up is slowly coming and the climax goes of the hook for that ultimate feel good positive experience. Obsydian is equally techy, punchy, playful and surprising with short intro breakdown that leads on a more aggressive techno infused main part. The breakdown is warm and tender packed with colorful synthy plucks and optimistic atmosphere that positively will embrace the audience. The climax is classic Anjunabeats euphoria with cinematic melody, melancholic piano chords and anthemic strings. Two winners in one package=good value for money #PureGold Love IT [/content]
