[item value="10"]Alexander Popov - When The Sun (YORK Remix) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]York’s 2025 re-imagination of Alexander Popov’s 2012 classic When The Sun is a masterclass in progressive trance production. This remix is a lush auditory journey, balancing meticulous technical craftsmanship with profound emotional resonance. The track opens with serene pads and atmospheric textures, establishing an immersive spatial field. Layered acoustic guitar phrases interweave with smooth arps, while a pulsating bassline anchors the piece with rhythmic clarity. The kick drum is tight and punchy, reinforced by subtle sidechain compression that creates a breathing, dynamic groove, maintaining energy without overcrowding the mix. The track showcases York’s signature production finesse. The EQ work ensures each frequency range is well defined: the low-end is warm and controlled, midrange elements are crisp for melodic hooks, and the highs sparkle with clarity without harshness. Spatial design is achieved through stereo widening, carefully automated reverb tails, and panning effects that give the track a three-dimensional feel. The breakdown is a testament to expert sound design—vocals are isolated with lush reverb and delay, followed by a gradual reintroduction of percussive layers, leading into a euphoric, harmonically rich drop. Dynamic range is preserved, making the track vibrant for both club systems and personal listening. Research indicates that uptempo electronic music, particularly trance, can enhance mood regulation, reduce stress, and improve focus (Thompson et al., 2019). The 132 BPM flow of this remix aligns well with heart rate rhythms during light cardio, making it suitable for fitness and wellness classes. The track’s positive harmonic structure, with major-key progressions and uplifting chord resolutions, stimulates dopamine release and promotes emotional resilience (Salimpoor et al., 2011). Furthermore, the immersive rhythmic layering assists in achieving a state of flow, which has been linked to improved mental health outcomes in music therapy contexts (Koelsch, 2014). Beyond technical excellence, this remix excels in storytelling and emotional resonance. The interplay between the airy vocals and euphoric lead synths evokes a sense of release and hopefulness, making it ideal for personal reflection, group exercise, or festival moments. From the smooth transitions to the climactic build-ups, the track demonstrates York’s ability to create a cohesive auditory narrative that is both meditative and energizing. Overall, York’s remix of When The Sun not only delivers a technical and emotional masterpiece but also contributes positively to mental wellness and fitness environments. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

[item value="10"]DJ Sakin & Friends, Dan Cooper & Torsten Stenzel - Protect Your Mind (Braveheart) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]This reinvigorated version of DJ Sakin & Friends' "Protect Your Mind" showcases the collaborative prowess of Dan Cooper and Torsten Stenzel, also known as York. This remix is not just an uplifting banger but a technical masterpiece that redefines the original's essence with contemporary sound design. At its core, the track operates at a brisk 140 BPM, characteristic of high-energy euphoric trance. What sets this version apart is the integration of a harder techno kick, meticulously layered to provide a punchy, driving force that anchors the composition. The bassline is intentionally rough and raw, crafted through analog synthesis techniques that add warmth and grit, enhancing the track's depth. This rawness contrasts beautifully with the soaring melodic elements, creating a dynamic interplay that captivates listeners. The pounding drums are intricately programmed, utilizing a combination of classic 909 samples and modern drum synthesis to achieve a balance between nostalgic trance vibes and cutting-edge techno energy. The iconic melody, inspired by the film Braveheart, is reimagined through lush, expansive synths. These synth layers are enriched with reverb and delay effects, designed meticulously to evoke a sense of vastness and emotional resonance. In its final section, the track transitions into a more aggressive, techno-focused realm. This shift is achieved through the strategic use of filter automation, distortion effects, and percussive elements that build intensity. The production technique here ensures a seamless flow while catering to the tastes of the new generation of tech trance enthusiasts. Overall, this rendition is not just a remix but a testament to innovative production techniques and thoughtful musical arrangement. It honors the original while pushing boundaries, making it a potential classic in its own right. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

York, the musical moniker of Torsten Stenzel, stands as a groundbreaking name in the realm of trance music, celebrated for his unique sound and substantial impact on the genre. His decades-spanning career continues to enthrall and motivate audiences worldwide.

Specializing in Trance, Chill, and House with a distinctive organic flair, York began as a collaboration in the early days between Torsten and his brother Jörg Stenzel. Founded in 1997, this project became a pioneer in guitar-driven electronic music, with Torsten managing production while Jörg contributed most of the guitar parts—a significant element of their success. York's debut release, "The Awakening," achieved massive chart success in 1998. In 1999, York released "On The Beach," a cover of Chris Rea's classic, which soared into the top five of the U.K. singles chart. Concurrently, York was featured on ATB's popular trance single "The Fields Of Love."

York's early hit singles, including "Reachers of Civilisation," were compiled on their 2001 debut album "Experience," followed by a second album, "Peace," in 2004, and reissued in 2006 with the single "Mercury Rising." By 2007, Torsten relocated his family to Antigua, naturally leading York to become more of a solo venture, although the brothers continued to collaborate on select tracks.

In 2012, the album "Islanders" was released, heavily influenced by Caribbean sounds and featuring an array of guest artists like Mike Oldfield and Jennifer Paige. York's fourth album, "Traveller," was released in 2016, featuring renowned electronic acts such as Rank 1, Ferry Tayle, Ayla, and Taucher. In 2023, York began releasing a series of singles on Armada Music, culminating in an album. He is also working on exciting collaborations for the current year and is increasingly active as a DJ, performing at various gigs.

Planet Love is releasing the first of two digital products of the Ibiza classic 'Sweet Suffering' by Asheni.

The Original DJ Sin Plomo Mix of this song was a cult track in Ibiza and was played daily at the famous Café del Mar bar. It made it on the Terrace Mix by DJ Toni Simonen in 2013 that was released on a double CD back in the day.

This new remix by Carbiolet Paris (Steve Brian) and Torsten Stenzel gives it a more house and danceable approach, still featuring the killer vocals of Neo Jazz Singer Asheni 😀

"Faded picture in a frame

And the whisper of your name

So silently

The velvet of your skin, the air I’m breathing in

Sweet suffering"
