[item value="10"]D.O.D & Hayley May – Closure[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]D.O.D & Hayley May’s “Closure” is an outstanding dance-pop production that immediately establishes its rhythmic authority with a tight 128 BPM groove, high-energy percussive layers, and a driving bassline that keeps the track’s forward motion relentless. The rhythm, groove, and drive are meticulously engineered to create a pulsating yet fluid flow, with the kick drum, hi-hats, and syncopated claps forming a foundation that both club and fitness environments will thrive on. The melodic hooks and harmonic layers are carefully interwoven, with bright synth stabs, evolving pads, and complementary countermelodies that add richness to the sonic spectrum, ensuring the track remains immersive from start to finish. Transitions, drops, and build-ups are executed with precision and artistry. Filter sweeps, risers, and subtle use of white noise create dynamic tension before explosive drops release energy in a euphoric surge, perfectly suited for festival mainstages and high-intensity workout sessions. The energy flow and momentum maintain a delicate balance between anticipation and satisfaction, keeping listeners engaged without fatigue. From a production standpoint, the sound design and overall quality are exceptional. Each element occupies its own frequency space, allowing clarity and punch, while the spatial design gives the track an expansive and open feel, enhanced by tasteful reverb and stereo imaging techniques. The arrangement demonstrates originality and cohesion, seamlessly telling the story of a relationship’s push and pull, embodying the emotional resonance of Hayley May’s vocal performance. Her voice, simultaneously playful and heartfelt, delivers lyrics that are both relatable and cathartic, enhancing the track’s creative identity and ensuring replay value. The emotional peaks are amplified by precise dynamic range and loudness balance, avoiding overcompression while maintaining a festival-ready loudness. The intro and outro structures are DJ-friendly, with loopable sections and clear cue points that support seamless integration into club or fitness mixes. Its BPM consistency and predictable structure make it a versatile tool for DJs, trainers, and wellness instructors alike. From a psychological and wellness perspective, “Closure” exemplifies music’s positive impact on mental health and physical performance. Research published in the Journal of Positive Psychology and Frontiers in Psychology has shown that upbeat dance music with strong rhythmic drive can elevate mood, reduce perceived exertion during exercise, and promote dopamine and serotonin release (Thoma et al., 2013; Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). The track’s euphoric melodies and high-energy production can thus enhance motivation in fitness environments and contribute to stress reduction in wellness classes. Its immersive atmosphere and contagious positivity align with studies demonstrating music’s role in emotional regulation and social connection, making “Closure” not just a club hit, but a sonic tool for holistic well-being. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

The track’s melodic hooks and harmonic layers stand out, with a playful interpolation of “Kiss Me” serving as a nostalgic anchor, supported by lush synths, airy pads, and well-placed harmonic counterlines that give the track depth and color. Transitions, drops, and build-ups are executed with pristine attention to timing and energy management. Meet Akylas (Akylas Mytilinaios), the 26-year-old artist representing Greece at Eurovision 2026 in Vienna. A breakout star of the Greek indie-pop scene, he secured his ticket after a landslide victory in the national final, Sing for Greece, earning the top score from both juries and the public.

Background: Born in Serres in 1999, Akylas is a self-made musician who honed his skills at the Serres Music School and through theater workshops. He spent two years performing on cruise ships, which he credits as his "great school" for mastering everything from disco to rock.

The Song: His entry, "Ferto" (Bring It), is an upbeat electro-pop anthem with a hidden depth. Co-written with Orfeas Nonis and produced by Papatanice and TEO.x3 (a 2014 Eurovision veteran), the track critiques consumerism and greed. It is deeply personal, inspired by his childhood economic struggles and dedicated to his mother.

Artistic Identity: Identifying as a queer artist, Akylas champions authenticity and self-acceptance. He first gained viral fame on TikTok with ukulele covers before a memorable stint on The Voice of Greece.

Eurovision Prep: For the big stage in May, he will be collaborating with legendary director Fokas Evangelinos to revamp his performance, which will likely feature his signature beanie and a new headset-mic setup to allow for more choreography.

[item value="10"]Akylas - Ferto [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Akylas’ “Ferto (Bring It),” a euphoric electro-pop anthem stands out both for its production quality and emotional depth. The track immediately captures attention with its driving rhythm, groove, and relentless 150 BPM pace, which expertly fuels energy flow and momentum across its entire duration. The fast psy-trance basslines, combined with heavy raw kicks and metallic percussion, create a pulse that keeps the listener actively engaged while maintaining BPM consistency and seamless synchronization, making it an ideal choice for DJs and festival sets. The transitions, drops, and build-ups are masterfully executed, ensuring that the energy remains dynamic without ever feeling monotonous, and each sequence feels like a natural evolution of the previous one. This makes the track not only club-ready but also perfectly suited for high-intensity fitness sessions and dance-based wellness classes, where music with strong rhythmic drive has been shown to enhance physical performance and endurance (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). From a melodic and harmonic standpoint, “Ferto” shines with memorable hooks and intricate layers that intertwine electronic textures with the nostalgic touch of old-school Atari tones and the cultural richness of the Greek lyra. The piano break and vinyl scratches in the breakdown add a surprising emotional depth, creating a sense of storytelling that enhances the overall cohesion of the track. These elements contribute to its emotional resonance, allowing listeners to connect on both a physical and psychological level. Music with strong melodic and harmonic content has been shown to stimulate the brain’s reward systems and evoke positive emotional responses, which can improve mood and reduce stress (Blood & Zatorre, 2001). The production quality of “Ferto” is exemplary. The sound design and spatial effects are immaculately crafted, giving the track a vibrant, immersive atmosphere that feels alive in both headphones and large club systems. The dynamic range and loudness balance are carefully managed, allowing the track to hit with festival-level intensity without overwhelming the ears, while its use of effects and layering demonstrates a refined artistic identity. This thoughtful balance also enhances its suitability for fitness and wellness classes, as consistent energy combined with clean production can improve focus and motivation during physical activity (Terry et al., 2020). Akylas' vocal performance is fresh, youthful, and perfectly aligned with the character he embodies in the song. His delivery amplifies the song’s message of awareness toward consumerism and greed, inviting listeners to engage with its deeper meaning while still enjoying its surface-level energy and catchiness. The emotional lift provided by the lyrics and vocal clarity further supports the track’s potential to positively impact mental well-being by fostering a sense of connection and catharsis through music (Juslin & Västfjäll, 2008). The replay value is exceptionally high, as the combination of intricate structure, crowd reaction potential, and seamless intro/outro design makes it a festival and club favorite, while also lending itself to repeated listening in personal workouts or wellness routines. Overall, “Ferto” is not just a technically flawless production but also a track that leverages the science of music’s influence on the body and mind. Its energetic flow supports physical activity, its melodic storytelling nurtures emotional engagement, and its cultural elements create a unique, immersive experience. This alignment of artistic creativity with human-centered benefits solidifies its place as a track with both entertainment and wellness value. #PureGold Loveit [/content]

Operating at 128 BPM, the track strikes an ideal balance between rhythmic drive and melodic vibrancy, creating a sonic landscape that resonates both in personal listening environments and on festival main stages. Each layer of the production contributes to a tightly woven rhythmic and harmonic framework: the groove is propelled by dynamic percussion patterns and punchy kick drums, while the bassline provides a smooth yet assertive undercurrent that maintains consistent energy flow and momentum throughout the track. The melodic elements, highlighted by radiant piano chords and playful harmonic textures, give the piece a nostalgic yet modern flair that instantly captivates audiences. The track’s transitions, drops, and build-ups are structured with exemplary attention to detail, ensuring seamless energy shifts that keep listeners engaged. Each rise and fall in intensity is supported by meticulous sound design choices—filters sweep with precision, reverbs bloom naturally, and spatial effects expand the stereo field to create a fully immersive experience. The use of effects is never gratuitous; instead, it enhances the perception of depth and movement, producing a dynamic range that allows both the instrumental and vocal elements to breathe. Poppy Baskcomb’s vocal performance sits perfectly in the mix, her emotive delivery cutting through the instrumental arrangement with clarity, warmth, and lyrical resonance, ultimately contributing to the track’s high replay value and instant memorability. With tracks under his belt such as 'Easy' (with Porter Robinson), 'Rebound' (with ARTY), 'The Sky' and 'Superman', Matan Zohar, formally known as Mat Zo, is one of Anjunabeats’ most celebrated artists. His GRAMMY-nominated debut album, ‘Damage Control,’ released in 2013, gave Mat’s avant-garde approach to production its full expression. Featuring break-out hit ‘Easy’, the track took Mat mainstream: a BBC Radio 1 A-List addition, Sirius XM BPM listing, a #1 Billboard Heatseeking record, an Essential Mix of the year nomination, and, ultimately, a GRAMMY nomination for best dance and electronic recording.

The British producer’s latest studio album, ‘Illusion of Depth,’ was released on the label in October 2020. The album has garnered over 25 million streams and produced the singles 'The Next Chapter,' 'Problems,' and 'Colours’; the latter of which was placed in the soundtrack for the 2021 racing video game Forza Horizon 5.

Last year, Mat Zo released the ‘ZOCASE EP’, a series of three lengthy tracks with cutting-edge sounds; each track a genre-less display, spacing between progressive house, breakbeat and techno.

Kicking off 2025 with ‘Wounded’, an official cover of Fleet Foxes 2020 track, ‘Can I Believe You’, the renowned producer followed up with another single, ‘Stupid O’Clock’ in early September. A showcase of masterful sound design, these singles provide a unique sonic experience that demonstrates Mat’s widely respected production skills. Now, he returns with his latest genre-defying production, ‘A Long Time’. Reminiscent of his emerging years and ongoing reputation for musical experimentation, ‘A Long Time’ shows off an extended journey of twists and turns through almost eight minutes.

Dimitris Kechagias Review:

[item value="10"]Mat Zo - A Long Time[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Mat Zo’s A Long Time is a striking example of contemporary electronic music production that demonstrates a sophisticated blend of technical precision and creative daring. At a steady 124 BPM, the track unfolds over nearly eight minutes, moving fluidly through progressive, trance, and indie dance elements. Its sonic architecture showcases advanced layering techniques, with basslines that interlock seamlessly with rhythmic percussion patterns and atmospheric harmonic textures. The use of stereo imaging, reverb tails, and spatial effects creates a three-dimensional listening environment, giving the track a festival-ready, immersive quality. From a production standpoint, A Long Time highlights meticulous attention to detail in its transitions and drops. Automated filter sweeps, volume modulation, and sidechain compression ensure that each build-up flows into its corresponding release with impact and clarity. The dynamic range is carefully managed, maintaining an energetic loudness level without sacrificing tonal balance. Mat Zo’s signature approach to sound design—merging raw, analog-inspired synths with polished digital timbres—makes the track both innovative and club-friendly. Its intro and outro structures are DJ-conscious, offering sync-friendly cue points and looping potential for set integration. Beyond its technical merits, the track has profound positive effects on mental health and wellness environments. Scientific studies have shown that rhythmic entrainment at moderate tempos (110–130 BPM) can enhance mood regulation, reduce stress, and improve focus (Thoma et al., 2013). The uplifting melodic hooks and harmonic progressions in A Long Time stimulate dopamine release, contributing to emotional uplift (Salimpoor et al., 2011). In fitness and movement-based wellness classes, such music supports sustained physical activity by promoting a natural synchronization of movement with rhythm, which has been linked to improved exercise performance and enjoyment (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). For meditation or relaxation sessions focused on active mindfulness, its evolving sonic journey can encourage flow states, offering both cognitive stimulation and emotional relief. In human-centered terms, A Long Time demonstrates how well-crafted electronic music can transcend entertainment, acting as a tool for mental health support, physical engagement, and emotional well-being. Mat Zo’s balance of technical mastery and expressive artistry creates not just a track for the dance floor but an experiential soundscape that resonates with listeners on multiple levels. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

Channeling pure summer essence, ‘Back To Blue’ marks the sun-soaked debut of Valentino Indy alongside Edward Maya and Klavdia. Reminiscent of the classic Romanian Eurodance and Popcorn hits reappear in the Shazam charts every year, this vocal-driven heater heater is melodious, eargasmic and instantly contagious.

Lyrics
I was fine before i met you
now i'm chasing every ghost in my room
got your name still burning on my skin
like a secret i keep caving in,

Tried to drown it in the noise
but your silence is louder than my voice
i rewind, i replay
guess i never learned to walk away.

And now i'm dancing with the memory of you
in a crowd but i'm alone, it's true
every beat just pulls me deeper through
I'm falling
Falling back to blue
You're the high i hate to lose
but i keep crashing into you

All the "what if's" keep me wide awake
Wish i never let my heart escape
your echo's in the way i breathe
you left, but you're still haunting me

maybe i loved a version that was never real
projected every dream onto the way you made me feel
now i'm spinning in a loop i can't undo
and every road just leads me back to you.

And yeah i'm dancing with the memory of you
in the dark where can't break through
every beat just paints me black & blue
Still falling
Falling back to blue
You're the lie i wish was true
but i keep holding on like fools... do

Can't move on, can't push through
… Still falling, falling

One year after their explosive debut collaboration, dance music heavyweights Steve Aoki and Gabry Ponte reunite to unleash new single ‘Stewpid’ on Armada Music.

Channelling festival season energy 365 days a year, ‘Stewpid’ is an upbeat dancefloor anthem that thrives on party adrenaline and zero self-consciousness. Lucious dance-pop vocals leave a lasting impression with smooth breakbeats nodding to a warm glow of nostalgia, and an irresistibly uplifting four-to-the-floor rhythm.

“Gabry and I always have a blast together,” says Steve Aoki. “Last year’s collab lit up dancefloors, and when our paths crossed again, we knew we had to run it back. Stewpid is pure fun, high-energy chaos.”

In today’s hyper-curated, Insta-worthy era, ‘Stewpid’ is a reminder that dance music has always been about those unfiltered moments of pure, unapologetic fun. Getting lost in the beat and experiencing lifelong dancefloor memories, taking place in real-time.

Gabry Ponte recalls early demos immediately sparking a core summer memory: “That sunny, euphoric energy instantly brought me back to the night Steve and I shared the stage at Praja in Gallipoli. Letting loose, soaking up the crowd’s energy, and feeling dance music in its purest form.”

Adding: “I’m stoked for the release of my new collab with Steve! Working with him last year was an absolute blast. We poured our hearts into this new track, and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be lit!”

If anyone can shake up dancefloors, it’s Steve Aoki and Gabry Ponte. Two-time Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, fashion designer and entrepreneur Steve Aoki is a modern icon of electronic music. Notoriously adored for his serotonin-surging live performances, the Dim Mak label boss is a must-see headliner at the world’s biggest events from Tomorrowland to Coachella, and a go-to name in the studio amongst fellow revered collaborators, from David Guetta, AFROJACK and Armin van Buuren to Kid Cudi and Linkin Park.

Of the same legendary status is Gabry Ponte. A founding member of Eiffel 65, responsible for the Grammy-nominated record ‘Blue (Da Ba Dee),’ Gabry Ponte remains at the top of his league with over 6 billion streams to his name and a catalogue of A-list collaborations with Tïesto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and more. 2025 has proven a record-breaking year so far for Italy’s highest streamed DJ/producer, leading San Marino to the grand finale of The Eurovision Song Contest, before becoming the first DJ to headline Milan’s iconic San Siro stadium to a sold-out crowd of 56,000 party-goers.

Steve Aoki x Gabry Ponte ‘Stewpid’ is out now on Armada Music.

Two Dutch dance heavyweights, multiplatinum-selling chart topping Dutch DJ and producer Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren join forces to release their new single 'Sleepless Nights' via Armada Music.

Despite their long friendship, this is the first time they’ve merged their signature styles into a single track. Built around Libby Whitehouse’s remarkable vocal performance 'Sleepless Nights' blends Martin’s modern production with Armin’s trance DNA, creating a track that captures the restless energy of late-night dance floors and the euphoria of losing yourself until the first morning light.

The duo premiered the track live during back-to-back performances at Ultra Miami. The track has become a mainstay in both Martin & Armin’s solo sets and they have continued to perform it together at other major festivals, including EDC Las Vegas, Cape Town, and Johannesburg. Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix have each claimed the number one spot in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll five times, jointly holding the record for the most wins.

Martin Garrix recently performed at the iconic L.A State Historic Park, his first time playing in LA since 2016. Garrix is the first ever artist to perform three nights at L.A State Historic Park. He immediately sold-out 40,000 tickets for two shows & added the third due to high demand. Earlier in June, Martin Garrix spent four nights in Las Vegas, playing shows at OMNIA, TAO Beach Club, and EDC. Adding to his highly sought after shows, Garrix recently sold out two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO for October.

Earlier this year, Garrix released 'Peace of Mind' with Citadelle. Garrix also teamed up with Lauv to release 'MAD.' He recently released two collaborations with Arijit Singh, 'Angels for Each Other' & 'Weightless'. 'Angels for Each Other' marked the first time Garrix was featured singing on his own record.

Armin van Buuren kicked off 2025 by premiering his innovative Pillars of Creation live concept in the desert dunes of Ras Al Khaimah. He hosted the annual A State of Trance Festival in Rotterdam (February) and London (July), with the festival set to make its debut in Mexico this November. This summer, Armin launched his 9-show Ushuaïa Ibiza residency with a rare six-hour open-to-close set, followed by weekly shows featuring guests like Cosmic Gate and Vini Vici. Meanwhile, he continues touring worldwide with his immersive The Orb live show.

In June, Armin released his ninth studio album, ‘Breathe’, a 51-track journey exploring mental health, personal growth, and creative freedom. To mark the album’s release, he appeared on the cover of Men’s Health, highlighting how his physical transformation has fueled his creative evolution. The album features the lead single ‘Let It Be For Love’ ft. JAI RYU. Armin recently released standout tracks ‘Keep The Faith’ with Bon Jovi, ‘Heavy’ with JOA, ‘Dream A Little Dream’ with Sam Gray, and ‘Sound of You’ with Pendulum and Rob Swire.

[item value="10"]Armin van Buuren & Martin Garrix - Sleepless Night [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren, two titans of Dutch electronic dance music, have finally united their signature sounds in the electrifying single "Sleepless Nights," released via Armada Music. This collaboration, years in the making given their long-standing friendship, delivers a seamless fusion of Garrix’s cutting-edge production techniques and van Buuren’s trance heritage, creating a track that is both innovative and nostalgically euphoric. "Sleepless Nights" is constructed around a solid 138 BPM, positioning it squarely within the uplifting trance and euphoric pop dance spectrum. The tempo selection amplifies the track's high-energy appeal, making it ideal for both festival mainstages and intimate club settings. The track is characterized by a sophisticated layering of synths, dynamic basslines, and intricate rhythmic patterns. The use of sidechain compression allows the kick to punch through the mix, providing that quintessential dancefloor drive. The production showcases Garrix’s modern EDM prowess intertwined with van Buuren’s trance sensibilities. The track opens with atmospheric pads and subtle percussive elements, gradually building tension as Libby Whitehouse’s captivating vocals enter. Her voice is treated with a delicate balance of reverb and delay effects, enhancing its ethereal quality without overshadowing the instrumental layers. The breakdown is where the classical influence shines, featuring a beautifully arranged violin melody. This orchestral touch adds an emotional depth, contrasting with the subsequent drop, which explodes with distorted, rave-infused synths. The warped synth hook is crafted using advanced modulation techniques, likely involving frequency distortion and dynamic filtering to achieve its mind-energizing texture. The meticulous attention to detail in the production process is evident. The track likely involved multiple stages of sound design, with Garrix focusing on the punchy, festival-ready elements while van Buuren infused the arrangement with trance-inspired arpeggios and harmonic progressions. The mixing process ensures clarity, with each element occupying its defined space within the stereo field. The mastering stage adds the final polish, enhancing the track’s loudness and dynamic range suitable for large sound systems. "Sleepless Nights" is more than just a collaboration; it’s a masterclass in blending genres and production styles. The synergy between Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren, coupled with Libby Whitehouse’s irresistible vocals, results in a track that’s both technically impressive and emotionally resonant. The euphoric climax, rich in melodic hooks and sing-along potential, cements "Sleepless Nights" as a future classic in the dance music landscape. #PureGold #MustListen #LoveiT [/content]

Lyrics
For all those lost and broken hearted ones
Dancing away all your sorrow
Chasing highs and always on the run
Save your tears for tomorrow

We’re the ones that will love way too hard till we fall apart and maybe
we’ll never learn

And bridges burn we get hurt and we go back to the start and that’s just the way it works

Ohh
Heaven knows that you’re wild one
And I can see you burning through the night
Don’t ever hide your super powers
Don’t ever hide your love
Ohh
Heaven knows that you’re wild one
Yeah you keep living like you’ll never die
Don’t ever hide your super powers
Don’t ever hide your love

Don’t ever hide your love

For all those nights when you don’t get no sleep
When there’s no way to let go
When all your dreams are somewhere hard to reach
All you can hear is the echo

We’re the ones that will love way too hard till we fall apart and maybe we’ll never learn
And bridges burn we get hurt and we go back to the start and that’s just the way it works

Ohh
Heaven knows that you’re wild one
And I can see you burning through the night
Don’t ever hide your super powers
Don’t ever hide your love

Don’t ever hide your love
Don’t ever hide your love
Don’t ever hide your love
Don’t ever hide your love

[item value="10"]TELYKAST x Oaks - Super Powers (Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix)[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Giuseppe Ottaviani's remix of ‘Super Powers’ by TELYKAST and Oaks is a masterful reinterpretation that infuses the original with an electrifying 135 BPM mainstage trance energy. Ottaviani, a stalwart in the trance scene known for his meticulous production techniques, elevates the track through a combination of dynamic sound design and expert arrangement. The remix opens with a robust, rolling bassline that sets a firm foundation, immediately pulling the listener into its driving rhythm. Ottaviani employs a powerful kick drum layered with tight, punchy percussion, creating a sense of relentless momentum. The bass is sculpted using sidechain compression, allowing it to breathe in sync with the kick, maintaining clarity even at high energy levels. As the track progresses, Oaks’ emotive vocals are seamlessly integrated, treated with subtle reverb and delay to create a spacious, atmospheric feel without losing intimacy. Ottaviani uses vocal chops and pitch modulation techniques to enhance the dynamic range, adding layers of texture and emotional depth. The euphoric synth hook is a standout feature, crafted with rich, detuned saw waves that are characteristic of classic trance. Through the use of advanced modulation, including LFO-controlled filter sweeps and automated reverb tails, Ottaviani injects a sense of ascending energy that peaks during the drop. The melodic progression is both uplifting and anthemic, supported by harmonically rich pads and arpeggiated sequences that cascade with brilliance. In the breakdown, Ottaviani strategically strips back the elements, allowing the melody and vocals to shine. He employs reverb swells and white noise risers, enhancing the build-up's tension before the final drop explodes with full force. The careful EQing and stereo imaging techniques ensure each element occupies its space, resulting in a polished, festival-ready sound. This remix is a testament to Ottaviani’s production prowess, blending technical precision with emotional resonance. It's a track designed to captivate audiences on the world’s biggest stages, embodying the essence of mainstage trance with #PureGold execution. LoveIT[/content]
