[item value="10"]Kryder - Time [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Kryder’s reimagining of Hans Zimmer’s legendary track “Time” is a masterclass in modern melodic house and techno production. At 126 BPM, the track strikes the perfect balance between trance-like euphoria and hypnotic progressive drive. From the very first moments, the production showcases a pristine use of dynamic range and spatial design. Layers of atmospheric pads and reverberated piano lines introduce the piece, honoring Zimmer’s cinematic essence, while the low-end groove slowly unfolds with an impeccably engineered kick and sub-bass relationship that ensures perfect club and festival translation. The sound design reflects an incredible attention to detail. Kryder employs a combination of analog-modeled synths for the warm melodic hooks and digital precision for the percussive elements, achieving seamless harmonic layering. The transitions and build-ups rely heavily on sidechain compression, filter sweeps, and carefully modulated reverb tails to create a sense of anticipation and release. Spatial effects, including stereo delays and panoramic shimmers, expand the listening field, enveloping the audience in an immersive journey through time and space. Each drop is strategically designed with spectral balance in mind, ensuring that no frequency clashes occur while maintaining the emotional resonance of Zimmer’s original score. From a structural perspective, Kryder’s arrangement demonstrates exceptional cohesion and storytelling. The intro is DJ-friendly, built with loopable percussive elements and subtle melodic cues for seamless integration into a set. The energy flow is meticulously crafted; each breakdown, drop, and bridge maintains forward momentum while allowing breathing room for emotional buildup. The outro mirrors the intro’s design, providing safe cue points for performance mixing and excellent loop potential for extended festival sets. This arrangement makes the track not only a peak-time monster but also a versatile tool for live and recorded sets. Scientific studies have demonstrated that rhythmic, melodic, and emotionally powerful music can significantly enhance mood and reduce stress. Research published in Frontiers in Psychology (Thoma et al., 2013) shows that listening to emotionally engaging music lowers cortisol levels and promotes relaxation. The driving beat and harmonic content of Kryder’s “Time” remix align with findings from Journal of Music Therapy (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012), where rhythmic synchronization has been shown to improve physical performance and endurance in fitness and wellness classes. Furthermore, the trance-like qualities and cinematic progression of the track can induce a state of flow and mental immersion, which researchers in Psychology of Music (2019) associate with improved cognitive focus and emotional regulation. What sets this rework apart is its ability to transform an already iconic theme into a modern electronic experience that touches both the heart and body. By preserving the grandiose emotional weight of Zimmer’s original composition while enhancing it with hypnotic grooves, Kryder has created a track that operates as both a dancefloor weapon and an emotional release. Listeners report that such music evokes feelings of awe and joy, which studies on music-induced chills (Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience, 2016) have linked to dopamine release and heightened emotional well-being. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

01. Fonzerelli x Kryder - Moonlight Party (Extended Mix)
02. Fonzerelli x Kryder - Moonlight Party (Fan Favourite OG Mix)
03. Fonzerelli x Kryder - Moonlight Party (Fan Favourite OG Mix)

If you clubbed-it across the grand span of European dancefloors in the mid-noughties, chances are what you’re looking at here will have put a goofily nostalgic grin on your face. If not, hey, welcome to that ‘Party’!!

When Aaron ‘Fonzerelli’ McClelland debuted back in ’06, he did so in about the biggest way imaginable. Through Tiesto’s ‘In Search Of Sunrise 5: Los Angeles’ album and the Dutchman’s weekly Clublife radio show, ‘Moonlight Party’ broke in a major way, turning it into a European chart hit.

The irresistible groove that sits behind it has barely dated a day since, but that hasn’t stopped Fonzerelli teaming up with Kryder to give ‘Moonlight Party’ a remodelling!

‘Moonlight’ bounces back in two distinct flavours, with F & K’s new Extended Mix dropping some knowingly-retro Todd Terry-ish kick ‘n’ hi-hat business, before the bass and its naggingly infectious pianos take charge. One drop of its haunting “dance till sunrise” vocal hook and you’ll be straight back to those more innocent of clubfloor times!

A nod to the track’s enduring appeal, Kryder and Aaron’s have also fashioned a ‘Fan Favourite OG Mix’, which brings that thumping piano loop right to the forefront of the production. Filters, phasers and all those early Axwell ‘n’ Prydzy-type feels will have the floor “dancing in the moonlight” and “waiting for the sunrise” all over again.

Laced with relentless good cheer, Fonzerelli x Kryder’s bringback is ready to fire up the EOY ‘Party’ season that’s all but upon us! Find it through all good streaming and sales channels here.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Aaron ‘Fonzerelli’ McClelland debuted in 2006 with ‘Moonlight Party,’ which became a European chart hit through Tiesto’s album and radio show. The irresistible groove hasn’t aged, but Fonzerelli teamed up with Kryder to remix it. Moonlight Party’ has two distinct flavors. The Extended Mix starts with a knowingly retro Todd Terry-ish kick ’n’ hi-hat, before the bass and infectious pianos take charge. The haunting “dance till sunrise” vocal hook will transport you back to those carefree clubfloor times. Kryder and Aaron’s ‘Fan Favourite OG Mix’ brings the thumping piano loop to the forefront, evoking the same dance floor magic as their earlier tracks. Overall, Aaron ‘Fonzerelli’ McClelland’s “Moonlight Party” Kryder remix features two distinct flavors: the Extended Mix with a retro kick and infectious pianos, and the OG Mix with a thumping piano loop. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

Tom Staar and Kryder, two major electronic music artists currently signed to Armada Music, are launching their new, collaborative album as the exclusive soundtrack of Maladroids, the hotly anticipated video game that recently saw its release. Every month for the six months following the release of the game, Tom Staar and Kryder will release two new album tracks into Maladroids’ curated in-game radio station (powered by Styngr), co-creating the game’s user experience on an audial level. During the album campaign, more levels and other features will also be added to the game.

A first-ever move for the video game industry, the launch of this entire collaborative album into the game bridges the gap between the worlds of dance music and blockchain gaming. The music activation, for which Armada Music joined forces with gaming music integration platform Styngr (the first B2B gaming and metaverse arm for indie and major labels) and Maladroids’ developer onXRP (the leading ecosystem for NFTs and crypto currency on the XRP Ledger), is a huge leap forward in the wild new world of blockchains and (audio) NFTs and will be discussed at length during a panel at this October’s Amsterdam Dance Event: ‘Dance music crossing the metaverse, gaming and Web3’, with Michel Peek (Armada Music), Kaj Leroy (CEO of onXRP) and Alex Tarrand (COO of Styngr) as panelists.

On the same day as the panel (Wednesday, October 19), Styngr, onXRP and Armada Music will also host a a game tournament and the Styngr Maladroids House kick-off party at The Arcade Hotel in Amsterdam, where Tom Staar and Kryder will perform an exclusive set to share some of the upcoming music. The show will also be livestreamed in the blockchain-built virtual reality world Decentraland.

Produced on the same premise of out-of-the-box thinking that inspired the creators of Maladroids to bring the video game to life, the soundtrack proves just how versatile its producers are, with album track ‘Aquaplane’ (due October 7) as a sterling example. The record, which also features in Maladroids’ game teaser, blends rocky, guitar-like synths with digital plucks, organic pads and a strong breakbeat rhythm, forming a soundscape that perfectly matches the adventurous theme of the ten-person battle royale obstacle run game.

U.K.-born, Ibiza-based DJ and producer Tom Staar has been one of dance music’s household names since he started gracing major-league labels such Armada, Axtone, Size and Spinnin’ Records almost ten years ago, bagging numerous Beatport Top 10 records (including huge collaborations with David Guetta and Armin van Buuren) and an International Dance Music Award for his and Kryder’s ‘De Puta Madre’. His 2022 release ‘Not Over’ has been an Ibiza anthem across the summer, gaining huge support from artists such as Solardo, Camelphat, Alan Fitzpatrick and more. 2022 has seen Tom regularly perform on the Ibiza shows of David Guetta at Ushuaia, along with international performances at globally renowned festivals such as Tomorrowland and Creamfields.

The past few years have been exceptionally good to Kryder. His invigorating take on big room firepower has found a massive audience on the dance floor and within the dance music industry, leading to releases on renowned labels such as Armada Music, Axtone, Size Records, Spinnin’ and Subliminal in addition to collaborations with the likes of Steve Angello and Erick Morillo. Aside from making waves as one of the industry’s top producers, Kryder continues to juggle performances at premier festivals such as Creamfields, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, Dance Valley, Ultra, Tomorrowland, Sensation, Electric Love and Medusa with heading up his own label group and hosting his own Kryteria radio show, which is syndicated to over 100 FM stations worldwide.

Made in tandem with English producer Jay Robinson and Aussie songstress Nazzereene, 'Touching Skin' is Kryder's next piano house bomb on Armada Music. Sporting silky vocals, thick bass and staccato-like chord stabs that rev up the groove, this track is the reason people continue clubbing till the first morning light.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] Kryder  is one of the most consistent producers on Armada delivering original and remixes that stand out. After the superb Tourmaline comes his collaboration with Jay Robinson featuring the stand out vocals by Nazzereene with Touching Skin. The track has an old school early rave feel with some basic grooves and chunky basslines while on top summery synthy layers added along with the brilliant vocals. The climax unleashes the euphoric piano chords to pump up the proceedings and start bouncing and shaking around. The hypnotic delivery of the vocals in a jazzy tone contrasts well  with that premium piano melody.  The result is unique house banger with that retro feel. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

After focusing on stellar original compositions for the first two Kryteria releases, launching alongside Steve Angello with ‘Romani’ before teaming up with Colombian rising star Cato Anaya on ‘La Cumbiambera’, Kryder demonstrates his ability to rework anthems into modern bangers, as he drafts in long-time production partner Tom Staar to remix arguably one of Basement Jaxx’s defining musical offerings ‘Bingo Bango’, originally released on their debut album ‘Remedy’ which reached #13 in the UK chart and #1 in the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.

With previous collaborative efforts coming in the form of remixes for the likes of Armin Van Buuren as well as originals on labels such as Spinnin’, SIZE and the pair’s label Cartel, it was only fitting that the pair joined forces to remix such an esteemed track.

The remix expertly brings the original into 2018, maintaining the charm of the original with the infectious “bingo bango” vocal and piano midsection while bearing the unmistakable hallmarks of Kryder and Tom Staar’s trademark house grooves. The latin influences of the original are kept intact, complemented by tribal rhythms that ensure the remix is primed for the dancefloor, and bring the track to the present day in the process.

Once again, the Kryder and Tom Staar combination is a match made in heaven, and with support on previous collaborations coming from a broad spectrum of heavyweight names such as Steve Angello, Hardwell, David Guetta, Axwell, ARTY, Martin Garrix and Annie Mac, you can guarantee to hear the pair’s ‘Bingo Bango’ remix everywhere in the coming months, from the radio to the club, as Kryteria continues to go from strength to strength.
