Armand Van Helden, a name synonymous with House music. A true pioneer and a DJ/Producer who has consistently given us amazing music over the past two decades.

New York based Van Helden was born in Boston to a Dutch/Indonesian father and a French/Lebanese mother. He travelled around the world as a child spending time in Holland, Turkey & Italy. He bought a drum machine when he was still a teenager and started DJing two years later.

Armand spends many hours ‘digging in the crates’ looking for samples and hooks from old funk, soul, dancehall & hip-hop records to re-create and turn into modern gems. It’s fair to say he has been mighty successful at this.

With huge releases including, Witch Doktor, Flowerz, My My My, I Want Your Soul, Hear My Name, When The Lights Go Down, NYC Beat & The Funk Phenomena plus the chart topping classic ‘You Don’t Know Me’ and ‘Bonkers’ with Dizzee Rascal. Plus, huge remixes for the likes of Daft Punk, The Rolling Stones, Sam Smith & the genre-creating monster Tori Amos ‘Professional Widow’.

He has also found time to collaborate with A-Trak on a side project ‘Duck Sauce’. Again reaching huge club, radio and chart success with; Barbra Streisand, Anyway & Big Bad Wolf.

Armand is back with a brand new single ‘I Need A Painkiller’. Yet another unique production from Armand that just grabs you instantly and set to be the soundtrack to many dancefloors.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The exceptional house legend Armand Van Helden collaborates with Butter Rush for the magnificent I Need A Painkiller. If you like your house pure and uncompromising then you will definitely not need painkillers. You can expect fat bouncy thumping drums, dark moody basslines, old school synthy organ riffs and superb vocals that will stay in your head for days and will be impossible not to get highly infected from those great lyrics. The groove and rhythm is old school but so futuristic at the same time. You simply play the track and the crowd goes insane. No Painkillers included should be purchased separately. #PureGold Love iT[/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]L’Tric are back in town with their global success The Way You Are. I loved very much the original and now the remixes are the finest you can expect on a commercial oriented release. Firstly the legend Todd Terry does what he knows best. He plays beautifully with metallic old school bassline along with tribal uplifting style drums along with playful application of synths and vocals. The result is infectious to the maximum with that old school house flavour. Zander deliver the very deep melodic smooth and groovy melodic summer chilling house version with great balearic touches and eternal Ibiza sunsets written all over it.  Pirupa goes for the underground minded version by keeping vocals distorted to the minimum and focusing more on the dark grooves and thumping bassline that wiggles and smashes it big time. Max Leise is doing the cool chilling French disco house version with long intro and main part that is melodic and playful with great carefree attitude written all over it. If you like things tough and groovy then you should park on the Tom Starr space. He does a powerful full on banging, booming and shaking full on version with basslines that crank the stereo systems. This is a package not to be missed. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

Strictly Rhythm is back on track after a summer hiatus with a double header from one of the most exciting producers in house music right now:  the UK’s Josh Butler.  What is Real? and Innocence showcase Butler’s talent at blending his love of classic house with fresh flavours cut for today’s dancefloors.

With over a dozen record releases to his name in a short career, Josh Butler is on the up.  He’s notched up notable partnerships with the likes of MTA, Noir, Cajual and MadTech, turned the heads of house music heavyweights Kerri Chandler, Marshall Jefferson and Pete Tong and made himself an essential fixture on the international DJ circuit.

Butler broke through in 2013 with Got A Feeling on Chase & Status’ MTA label, for which he picked up a beatport award, and followed it up with the No Frills EP on Kerri Chandler’s MadTech imprint, The Situation and Portable EPs on Cajmere’s Cajual, Feelings on Noir and a remix of Fatboy Slim feat Macy Grey’s Love Life.  He was awarded the prestigious Best Breakthrough Producer by DJ Mag for 2104.

The DJ diary isn’t too shabby either, with a posting supporting the legendary Chic on tour and two full summers in Ibiza at Sankeys under his belt, plus a US tour and clutch of festival appearances at the likes  of SW4, Parklife and Secret Garden Party.

The new EP includes the brilliant Innocence which is a laid back early house set track with stunning saxophone riffs and spacious old school raw basslines and simple but effective drums like being back in the analog era. The rhythm is infectious and will awake up your sexual desires. The vocal snippet Set Me Free will definitely make you feel ready to let the inhibitions go and start the dance. Here the first titbits of British duo Antony & Cleopatra. "Love Is A Lonely Dancer" is a blend of '70s disco,' 80s US House and '90s diva vocals. Anita Blay and Alexander Burnett, hiding behind 'Antony & Cleopatra' hide, make it clever to combine different House styles with rhythmic breakbeats and cosmic synth chords and so to create a completely new, modern sound.

Putting his signature sound firmly on the map with every ensuing release, Dave Winnel is not one to shy away from hard-hitting drums or raw bass sounds. With shuffling beats, magnificent chords, and a ravaging bassline at the helm, 'Don't Stop' marks yet another dance floor destroyer, made possible by the Aussie prodigy.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Dave Winnel is on board for the latest release on Armada Music. The track is the massive Don't Stop that can be summarized into a massive dirty bassline heavy future house banger with superb arrangement. Pounding drums, pulsating distorted basslines combined with relaxing breakdown that includes old school breaks and the MC style vocal sample that simply works and can make you feel really high for sure. The drop is   irresistible with the infectious monster bassline getting your control so there is no time to waste for resistance. Tiger MIAMI WMC Power Anthem! Hot Cake! 舞

Mark Knight - Ironing Man / Feel Good Now

Dimitri Kechagias review: Tiger records in collaboration with the top UK based label Toolroom records presents the brand new EP of the label owner and house legend Mark Knight. The tracks included are Ironing Man and Feel Good Now. Both are destined to get many plays at the WMC conference so you know the score. Firstly is the superb Ironing Man. Mr Knight on this one combines driving energetic old school infused bassline with danceable punchy groove while on top he decorates it with old school synthy hooks, vintage organ riffs and chopped vocal samples that work perfectly to drive your crowd wild and let them enjoy themselves without any inhibitions. If you believe in the power of pure house music don't miss this prime time weapon. Second high class track is Feel Good Now. For this track Mark shows his diversity and ability to deliver wide variety of styles and demanding sounds. This track is deeper, darker, moody and more vicious with certain Roger Sanchez influences. The old school pounding raw techno bassline merged with rocking tough drums while he adds successfully old school organ riffs and distorted vocal samples. The result is a hypnotic relentlessly building hour cracker that will explode on many clubfloors and festival stages. #PureGold 100% Miami Tiger Weapons, Love It

Full Intention are the Grammy nominated master production and remix duo of Michael Gray and Jon Pearn. Together as Full Intention, they have been a pioneering force on the global house scene for over 15 years, and remain the undisputed masters of the remix.

Spreading their dominating sound for the last 18 years they have been a pioneering force on the global House music scene. The pair has secured a seemingly non-stop string of successful releases and remixes, escalating the twosome to true global status. They produced numerous huge club and charts hits, nearly all of them became all-time classics. Their innovating sound had a huge impact on the worldwide scene and influenced many other producers.

Full Intention has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, like The Jacksons, Whitney Houston, Jamiroquai, Jennifer Lopez, Barbara Tucker, Junior Jack, Ultra Nate, Sugababes and Bob Sincla - and not to forget the Grammy nomination for their remix of George Michael’s “Amazing”.

After the great success with „I’ll Be“ last Year, which was a high seller and on top of each downloading portal, we proudly present the follow up „So Confused“ with the brilliant voice of Mira.

The Remix comes from the German duo PIEMONT, grown up in Hamburg, spreading their dominating sound to the world over the last 18 years ,are they a pioneering force of the global House music scene.

Enjoy ...

Dimitri Kechagias review: BluFin for 10 years now brings some of the finest techno and tech house anthems around. The label though has an openminded forward thinking music policy and presents tracks that can be called deep house as well. The latest release by Full Intention is an underground hit in the making that has potential to get frequent radio play as well. Firstly is the stunning original mix that the beloved duo do what they know best with chunky techy grooves, old schools 90's infused basslines, superb percussion and drum programming, warm cinematic strings, airy pads and the stunning vocals by Mira who simply shines with her sensitive passionate performance that make you want to run on the dancefloor and swing your sexy thing around. The high class PIEMONT transform the original into a beautiful sweet and tender melodic deep house version that is smooth, relaxing, lazy and packed with Ibiza attitude as well. Brand new minimal techy grooves, funky deep basslines, sexy melodies, jazzy undertones, distorted pitched down vocals and hypnotic atmosphere makes this remix so special. Close your eyes and let the late night journey begin without any compromise. Lastly Full Intention deliver the Mentum remix that is tougher and more upfront with metallic basslines, 90's style sounds and futuristic house tendencies. Mira's vocal is chopped and squeezed around and still sounds like the perfect icing at the top of the tasty cake. #PureGold Love It

Dimitri Kechagias review: The amazing Gorgon City are back with their exceptional single Go All Night. Their album Sirens got mixed reactions from the press particularly from those who wanted a much more darker album with less vocals and more underground credibility. Gorgon City produce music for the dancefloor and of course they don't pretend to be out of the mainstream. Their latest track Go All Night is a wonderful celebration of the new British sound that explodes everywhere at the moment. With 90's house influences, UK dark garage touches and feel good positive piano that works perfectly with the soulful singer and diva Jennifer Hudson who simply can wake up so many emotions while she performs with her sweet voice the straight forward lyrics that will talk to any clubber from early 90's till 3000 and beyond. The remix package is the finest that you can ask for. First of all the beloved Berlin based duo Booka Shade deliver one of those epic deep house versions packed with incredible textures, cinematic atmosphere and of course less of the vocal and more of the sexy naughty dirty groove. This is body moving music that will hypnotise your senses and take you for a night trip. Illus & Barrientos remix moves on the classic deep house direction with raw grooves, metallic basslines, rave style samples and warm synths while from the vocals they use just the chorus. Aquillo remix  is an interesting mixture of funk house with electro beats and great atmospherics perfect for the late night sets with overall organic feel. The Warehouse Dub sounds so 90's with just basic 2 basics sound layers, chopped vocal samples, acid house touches and early rave elements mixed with house bouncy grooves and percussive melodies. Drew Hill remix starts with great relaxing intro with heavily echoed vocals and slow lazy Sunday afternoon grooves. The house beats strike quite late but early enough to bring havoc on any house floor. Finally the drum n bass fans are treated first class with Wilkinson  translation that starts with atmospheric sweet intro with the beautiful Jennifer Hudson vocal. The energetic drums and basses are melted into one with fantastic piano chords in the breakdown followed by the spacey liquid like drop that will travel your mind to magic places. #PureGold Love It
