Anjunadeep’s landmark compilation, 25 Years of Anjuna, stands as a testament to the label’s profound influence on the electronic music landscape over the last quarter century. From its origins as the deep and melodic offshoot of Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep has grown into a global touchstone for emotive, forward-thinking house music. Over the years, it has cultivated an international community of artists and listeners who share a deep connection to melodic storytelling on the dancefloor. The label’s sound, often described as warm, introspective, and timeless, has shaped the trajectory of progressive and deep house, solidifying Anjunadeep as a guiding presence for both emerging producers and seasoned veterans.

For this twelfth entry in the Anjuna25 series, co-founder James Grant distills a quarter century of music into an immersive three-hour journey. Each track is a carefully selected gem, reflecting the label’s ethos and its evolution across eras:

“Distilling 25 years of Anjuna into a single mix was a pretty daunting task and one which took me a while to wrap my head around, which is probably why I was so late to deliver it, just before the turn of the year. I was never going to be able to keep the mix down to an hour or two, so please grab yourself a cuppa and settle in for three hours of listening. I’ve tried to cover a lot of bases in the mix, spanning various eras of the label and including a good number of hidden gems alongside some of our more celebrated releases. But the common thread for all the inclusions, I hope, is that they capture the true feeling of Anjuna over the last quarter century. Thank you for supporting us on the journey so far and I hope you enjoy the mix." James Grant

With a career spanning more than three decades, Jody Wisternoff has evolved from a teenage breakbeat prodigy to one of the most celebrated curators of modern deep and melodic house music. Hailing from Bristol, UK, Wisternoff first gained attention in the 1990s as one half of Way Out West alongside Nick Warren. Their genre-defying productions and emotive approach to electronic music paved the way for his later solo work, which has become synonymous with the warm, melodic sound of the Anjunadeep label.

Jody’s presence at Anjunadeep is more than that of a featured artist—he is a guiding figure in the label’s aesthetic. Through his collaborations with James Grant and his carefully crafted mixes, Wisternoff shapes the sonic narrative that defines Anjunadeep’s releases. His ability to seamlessly blend deep grooves with cinematic melodies has made him a cornerstone of the label’s identity.

"From the very first compilation, Anjunadeep has heavily influenced my musical DNA. The label has been the soundtrack to much of my life.

To celebrate 25 years of Anjunadeep, I’ve crafted a mix that’s both a tribute and a personal journey. There were way too many tracks to choose from, but I’ve tried to select music that has impacted me most and shaped my connection to the label.

I’ve also sprinkled in a few of my own works, including a remix of “Counting Down The Days” that not many people have heard before!

Here’s to 25 years of a truly special label, one that has blessed so many lives, sparked friendships, and made the harder days a little easier to get through." -Marsh

Anjunabeats celebrates its 25th anniversary with a series of mixes curated by a handpicked selection of artists. Drawing on 25 years of defining trance and progressive history, each artist will deliver a personal and unique mix of their all-time favourite Anjunabeats releases.

Now, Trance Wax will deliver the ninth mix in the series.
"I’ve taken a trip down memory lane for this mix, trying to deep dive into the trance history of the label concentrating on the 2000-2010 era. Tracks like Aalto 'Rush' I remember buying on vinyl in high school and putting them on a mix CD to give to my mates. I remember being shouted at in biology class for not listening because I was listening to OceanLab 'Clear Blue Water' on repeat.

Matt Hardwick used to be the Gatecrasher resident DJ and I really looked up to the guys playing these clubs every week and building warm up sets to get the night ready for the main trance DJs at the time. 'Nimbus' is also my favourite Oliver Smith track. All the other tracks I’ve owned and played, and this 60 mins mix is me trying to create a mosaic of the roots of this great label. Thanks for letting me take part in the 25 years of Anjunabeats series, I hope you enjoy." - Trance Wax

Anjunadeep celebrates 25 years of Anjuna with a series of mixes curated by a handpicked selection of artists. Drawing on the label’s 20 years of defining deep and melodic house, each artist will deliver a personal and unique mix of their all-time favourite Anjunadeep releases.

Now is the turn for Martin Roth to deliver the ninth mix in the series.
"Creating this mix felt like opening an old photo album—each track carrying memories of my own releases, the timeless gems that shaped Anjunadeep’s journey, and countless nights in clubs and festivals where this music truly came alive. Over the years I’ve contributed a fair share to the catalogue, but curating them together made me realize how these pieces form a larger story we’ve been writing collectively for 25 years. What struck me most is how alive and relevant the music still feels today—these aren’t just echoes of the past, but sounds that continue to move dancefloors now and will long into the future. That’s the essence of Anjunadeep: music that outlives the moment." -Martin Roth

Introducing Anjunachill

We’ve always felt that the best music is timeless. It has a certain power. Ambient music has been a part of Anjuna and Above & Beyond from the start, since our first album ‘Tri-State’. On most of our albums we’ve had some beatless or ambient pieces. It felt right.

Music can be really comforting and healing, especially living in this hectic world. More ambient and peaceful music has always helped us stay grounded and find peace.

It’s quite amazing looking back over these 25 years and seeing so many timeless pieces of work on our labels and how they still have that same feeling.

Ambient and beatless music has been integral to Anjuna’s story so far. It deserves a whole label. It deserves a big part in the Anjuna universe.

So we’re kickstarting our 25th anniversary and bringing our labels together. Our ambient imprint Reflections becomes Anjunachill and shows how important chillout music is to us as a label.

The first track on Anjunachill is something from us, aptly named ‘Shall We Begin’. Pre-save it here

We’re really excited about this new phase of Anjunachill and can’t wait to share it with you.

Jono, Paavo and Tony x
