Anjunabeats celebrates its 25th anniversary with a series of mixes curated by a handpicked selection of artists. Drawing on 25 years of defining trance and progressive history, each artist will deliver a personal and unique mix of their all-time favourite Anjunabeats releases.
Now, Trance Wax will deliver the ninth mix in the series.
"I’ve taken a trip down memory lane for this mix, trying to deep dive into the trance history of the label concentrating on the 2000-2010 era. Tracks like Aalto 'Rush' I remember buying on vinyl in high school and putting them on a mix CD to give to my mates. I remember being shouted at in biology class for not listening because I was listening to OceanLab 'Clear Blue Water' on repeat.Matt Hardwick used to be the Gatecrasher resident DJ and I really looked up to the guys playing these clubs every week and building warm up sets to get the night ready for the main trance DJs at the time. 'Nimbus' is also my favourite Oliver Smith track. All the other tracks I’ve owned and played, and this 60 mins mix is me trying to create a mosaic of the roots of this great label.
