Settled in the space between dreamy folk and electronic melancholy – Haux is the smoky-eyed silhouette of Woodson Black. Growing up in the Berkshires, the photographer-turned-musician found his voice while wandering the quiet woods and rural landscapes. He narrated life through film photographs, developing a pastoral aesthetic that would go on to inspire Haux.

After wrapping up a debut headlining tour this Spring and the success of his single "Touch," Haux today shares Australian producer Thomas Jack's hypnotic remix of "Homegrown". The original single counts over 8 million Spotify streams and Thomas Jack's rework elevates the track into deep house territory, amplifying Haux's haunting vocals lending giving the single a dance friendly beat.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Some tracks need the right remix to shine and this new version by Thomas Jack on Homegrown by Haux is exactly what the track needed to become the next anthem for deep house sets. Eclectic melodic house vibes merged magnificently with the haunting mysterious vocals in order to make any deep house lover dance with closed eyes, open ears and hearts. The latest single from LA based, Russian born singer/songwriter Polina has been remixed by skilled producer Maywald.

Having been active since the 90s, Maywald is renowned for his production, mastering and mixing abilities. The German artist has previously been the mind behind many other artist’s chart successes, and he is now stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist on Ultra.

An effortlessly catchy track the clever musical layering and smooth vocals make for ideal summer listening. Maywald has added a bouncing bassline and synth melodies for a dancefloor-ready update.

Classically trained, Polina is increasingly in demand as an artist, and ‘Little Babylon’ is a testament to this.As a Grammy award winner, her recent collaboration with Felix Jaehn on ‘Book Of Love’ has whipped up more than 19.5 million combined plays on Youtube, held number 1 on the AirPlay charts for four weeks and has received gold status in Germany. Her vocal talents have also been featured on tracks from the likes of Eminem, Steve Aoki and Kaskade. Polina’s versatility has also meant live appearances at Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival and Electric Zoo amongst many club shows in the US and Europe.

Hazy yet memorable, ‘Little Babylon’ (Maywald remix) is a great piece of electronic production from two quickly rising musical talents.

Lyrics
Shadows surround you
Where’s the smile I long to see back on your face
What am I to do
In the end I only want to know you’re safe

So precious to lose
Impossible to hold when you are worlds away
A thousand thoughts of you
Who’ll protect you when the thunder rains

Maybe they’ll keep eye on earth
Promise you’ll never will be hurt
Maybe they’ll keep eye on earth
Promise you’ll never will be hurt

Shadows surround you
In the end I only want to know you’re safe
Maybe they’ll keep eye on earth
Promise you’ll never will be hurt

Paul van Dyk and Aly & Fila feat. Sue McLaren - Guardian (The Remixes) Get your copy

2014 marked the year international electronic musician PAUL VAN DYK returned to the singles realm with “Come With Me (We Are One),” a collaboration between the electronic music overlord and Turkish/Dutch wonderkind Ummet Ozcan, “Only In A Dream” with Jessus & Ahdam Ashraf featuring Tricia McTeague and “Guardian” with Aly & Fila featuring Sue McLaren--three fiercely infectious pieces of floor-propelling electronic music. Over late December/early January 2015, the original mix of “Guardian” roared across floors, claiming the #2 spot on Beatport’s trance chart in the process. Now the track has been remixed for Guardian (The Remixes), a four-track EP that is available on Ultra Music. Pre-order is available now at: smarturl.it/GuardianRMXs

Along with the release of the Guardian (The Remixes) EP, PAUL VAN DYK will return to the U.S. for a short support tour launching tomorrow, February 6 in San Francisco. Other stops planned for February include Seattle, San Antonio, Dallas, New York, San Diego and Los Angeles. PvD will also return to Miami to appear at the Ultra Music Conference in March. The full routing follows below.

“Guardian” brings together PvD, Aly & Fila, three producers long celebrated for wowing the clubbing lands with their height-of-the-night productions. For the remix EP, the trio’s Sunrise and Sunset mixes drop some expectation-subverting versions into “Guardian”’s equation. Unexpected, different, surprising even, their more recumbent tones, dovetailed to Sue McLaren’s sweetly sung vocals and bittersweet lyrics, mass to take music lovers to places they may never wish to return from. For his mix, Goodgreef’s Jordan Suckley goes pole-to-pole delivering a rework that seismically blasts “Guardian” through to the heart of 6am. Tough, on an almost cellular level, Suckley’s thunderous remap will thoroughly test the mettle of your club’s speakers. Then Pedro Del Mar & R.I.B take the track on a chilled ride to the lounge side. Linking the circle back to the Sunrise and Sunset mixes, the two deliver a richly produced, brilliantly structured revision perfect for the ride home after a long night of revelry.

LIGHTS feat. Sue McLaren - out August 14th including remixes by Giuseppe Ottaviani, Owen Westlake and Wee-O.

Following (per MIXMAG) the “captivating” long-player’s release in May, ‘Lights’ established itself as a frontrunner favourite with PvD devotees and its single release (Paul states) is “simply my response to their response!”

The single’s release is completed with a trance translation from Giuseppe Ottaviani, Wee-O’s irrepressibly uplifting, festival-minded rework, a housier creation from bright-young-thing Owen Westlake and an enigmatic, ether-steeped official vid from US features director/producer, Adam Mason.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The trance legend Paul van Dyk is back with the remix package of his fantastic single Lights featuring the beloved UK singer Sue McLaren. The remixes are the finest that you can dream of and wish to get on a such a beauty. First of all the Italian maestro Giuseppe Ottaviani proves why he is considered trance most precious asset with his uplifting driving version that follows the euphoric trance arrangement with smooth driving basslines, pounding drums and excellent application of the classic Paul van dyk style synths along with Sue shinning performance that inspire and open your heart and soul longing for more quality art. This is proper uplifting trance at its best! Wee-O Remix is transforming the original into a maintage progressive house cracker with aggressive electro sharp synthy hooks and fantastic bombastic basslines with heavenly breakdown packed with emotional travelling piano chords and warm synths that lead to the booming full throttle style uplifting house sound. Last but not least  Owen Westlake Remix brings to the table emotional melodic atmospheric deep electronic house produced with delicate edge and classy sound design that instantly make the difference and manage to hypnotise your senses and inspire your heart! #PureGold Love it

01: Paul van Dyk and Genix – For You

In the breakthrough stakes there’s been few bigger than Genix in the last six months. Recently named as one of DJ Mag’s half-dozen key players in trance music’s future, Paul’s ‘For You’ co-producer is as young-gun hot as young-gun hot gets!

Having recorded for Van Dyk’s VANDIT imprint several times in 2014, he now collaborates with the man himself on the next of ‘The Politics Of Dancing 3’s Instant Grat Tracks.

Together on ‘For You’, Paul & Genix at once embrace the best elements of genre, while at the same time subtly subverting them through judicious electro and techy subtexts.

‘For You’ is available as a ‘POD3’ IGT from today. You can pre-order ‘The Politics Of Dancing 3’
right here

Dimitri Kechagias review: Paul van Dyk presents another instant gratification track from his forthcoming Politics of Dancing vol. 3 released via Ultra (Sony) and New State in UK. The track that we enjoy to the maximum of volume is the fantastic For You in collaboration with the magician Genix. We deal here with super strong progressive trancer with chunky bubbly groove, punchy electro infused basslines, chopped vocal samples, and hints of the euphoric synthy riffs. The breakdown is truly luscious with chill out ambience decorated with emotional piano chords and wide variety of emotional synthy plucks along with beautiful female voices. The build up towards the climax is intense and finally the massive drop comes in packed with euphoric hands in the air synths and magnificently positive and sincere piano chords. The result is an exceptional progressive trancer that has depth, substance and magical atmosphere that you deserve to experience and let yourself go! #PureGold Love It

01: Paul van Dyk and Michael Tsukerman feat. Patrick Droney - What We're Livin

The combined forces of production legend Paul van Dyk, cult studio-head Michael Tsukerman and young-gun Californian indie-rocker Patrick Droney collaborate on the first of ‘The Politics Of Dancing 3’s Instant Grat Tracks.

“If we only look back then we’ll never know” is Patrick’s polemic, anthemic floor-cry on ‘What We're Livin For’. His generation-song lyrics epitomise ‘The Politics Of Dancing 3’s future-facing ‘come-together’ message to the nth degree.

Not so much ahead on the festival curve, as setting it, PvD & Polish-born/Israeli-based Michael Tsukerman’s effervescent, supremely infectious production rocks ‘Livin’ right off the grid!

‘What We're Livin For’ is available as an IGT from today, when pre-ordering ‘The Politics Of Dancing 3’.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Paul van Dyk is back with his well known compilation concept Politics of Dancing vol.3 which includes many exclusive tracks such as his collaboration with the well known dj Michael Tsukerman featuring the dynamic performance by Patrick Droney. The track  What We're Livin is a big room / mainstage progressive house meets trance smasher with heavy in your face basslines, pounding drums, thunderous kicks, swirling effects and stunning breakdown with piano chords, cinematic strings and the exceptional Patrick singing with all his heart and soul the stunning lyrics that will wake up our consciousness to see if we are heading towards the right direction and if we have a clear vision of where we want to move our life. The climax is euphoric and full on hands in the air with colourful fluorescent synths and the right amount of energy that will make the biggest summer festivals jump up and down! Straight to the point feel good fun that will unite the masses. Love It

If your ‘Politics Of Dancing 3’ anticipation levels aren’t high enough already, well this will surely put them there…

In a first time production link-up, Paul van Dyk has collaborated with those trance pharaohs Aly & Fila - reteaming in the process with vocal doyen and regular muse Sue McLaren for the magnificent, astounding ‘Guardian’.

On ‘Guardian’, Sue McLaren’s sweetly sung vocals contrast with the bittersweet nature of her meditative lyrics. At its production core Paul, Aly and Fila fuse the track with a harmonic sound storm of pads, chords and synths. Cumulatively, the track’s pacific undertones and vocal enrichment amass to take clubbers & music lovers to places they may never wish to return from!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Everything is looking great for the forthcoming compilation Politics of Dancing Vol.3 that seems that will create waves in the electronic music community. The tracks released so far from it are simply perfect and now comes the next one that is very beautiful too. For this track Paul van Dyk collaborates with the beloved Aly & Fila and on vocal is the exceptional singer Sue McLaren that we hope to see her soon with personal album as well as she really deserves it. Guardian combines the two worlds of Paul van Dyk with his established melodies that recall his classic For An Angel with the tough pounding drums and energetic basslines of Aly & Fila into one coherent uplifting euphoric trancer of the highest quality. Particularly the breakdown is exceptional with warm mesmerising melodies, variety of synthy plucks, piano chords, cinematic strings with classical orchestral music influences and right at the top the magnificent goddess of trance Sue McLaren that I hope to see her performing live this track why not at the Digital Society in Leeds in March. What is also very important that  Sue sings a full song with great story and not just some short top lines. Jordan Suckley is on remix duties and the upcoming and quickly rising to the top UK trance star transforms the original into his dirty dark "Damaged" style with psy trance and tech trance elements. He remix targets the full on mainstage trance sets with aggressive foundation while he uses the full vocal and again Sue McLaren sounds very much at home. His breakdown is sensitive and emotional packed with darker synthy chords and opera like chorus voices.  What's more he includes very cool break beat sequence with distorted parts of the vocal. His climax as you can expect from him goes the moody tech trance direction focused on the strong basslines and the pounding metallic drums. Pedro del Mar & RIB  service the deep emotional chill out version with soothing calming melodies, warm cinematic strings and loungy jazzy grooves. Now the package gets even bigger with two additional remixes that simply extend the sonic pleasure to the maximum. Sunrise mix is a magnificent warm melodic progressive trancer perfect for the warm up sets that you want to add special glow of beauty and make the proceedings really atmospheric and inspirational. Balearic grooves, sunkissed melodies and Sue McLaren with her stunning voice and her highly emotional performance. Sunset remix is an even more laid back version with minimal lazy grooves, bubbly warm basslines, orchestral strings, emotional synths and with some abstract heavenly like parts of Sue vocals. Great version if you want to concentrate on the melodies and not on the voice.  This is absolutely magical! #PureClass, #PureGold Love It

Dimitri Kechagias review: It is not a secret that one of the most awaited collaborations is between the awesome Dutch duo W & W with the fantastic hardstyle dj Headhunterz who is particularly successful in USA. The result of their hard work was premiered on summer festivals such as Tomorrowland where Headhunterz join them on stage to present the track to the massive crowd. We Control The Sound is finally released on Ultra Music and of course on W&W owned record label Mainstage Music. The track is a powerful dynamic ride of heavy in your face hardstyle basslines, pumping hard house drums and anthemic hands in the air synths. The old school spoken male vocal sample works perfectly to add atmosphere and drive the clubbers crazy. With fantastic calming at the beginning breakdown and then with release of epic hands in the air synths, classical music violin riffs followed by intense build up towards the extremely ruthless and totally unstoppable freaked out drop, We Control The Sound will have an immediate and lethal effect on your dj set. Uplifting euphoric synthy hooks, monstrous grooves, thunderous basslines and solid composition ensure that this track will become one of the biggest anthems for 2014 and beyond. Expect to hear it on W&W performances near you soon. #PureBassPower, Love It

01: Only In A Dream (Original Mix)
02: Only In A Dream (PvD Club Mix)
03: Only In A Dream (Radio Edit)

Three months after Paul van Dyk’s weeklong run at Beatport’s #1 with his Ummet Ozcan collaboration, ‘Come With Me’, the electronic music savant brings dancefloor citizens another clean-through-the-hoop slam-dunk! ‘Only In A Dream’ provides PvD fans old & new with another enticing hint as to what lies inside the forthcoming ‘The Politics Of Dancing 3’ ‘box’.

Having caught PvD’s ear in a remarkably short space of time, the co-production chair for ‘Dream’ is shared with bright-young-studio-things Jessus & Adham Ashraf. In keeping with their quickly propagating sounds, the Columbian/ Egyptian pairing channel trancier frequencies into the track.

Equipping ‘Only In A Dream’ with its embracive once-heard/never-forgotten vocal is English singer/song-writer Tricia McTeague. No stranger to music’s upper tier, she’s worked previously with esteemed producers like Nile Rodgers and Narada Michael Walden; has sung support for legends like Lionel Ritchie & Elton John and now grafts her Morissette/Vega-like expressionism, chapter & verse into Paul & Co’s, ‘Dream’.

Van Dyk’s own versions cover the homebase with the Original Mix ready to chuck the ear of radio, while its Club Mix compatriot zeroes straight to the heart of the dancefloor.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The legend and pioneer of electronic music Paul van Dyk is back with brand new single and once again he collaborates with new talents and offer them the chance to shine along with him. Paul collaborates with Jessus and Adham Ashraf for the magnificent melodic progressive trance beauty Only In A Dream. Very big part of this exceptional track is Tricia Mc Teague's magnificent voice that has that unique mesmerising tone. The original mix is a blissful warm and tender progressive trance gem with the characteristic Paul van Dyk progression that brings in your mind instantly great anthems from his glorious past. Groovy chunky drums, punchy elastic pumping basslines, emotional synths, warm strings, airy pads and variety of melodic plucks that manage to build that rich with content and texture progressive trance style that instantly grab your attention and you enjoy letting everything go and dance along or drive your car scrolling through the busy metropolitan roads with the neon lights. It has the word anthem written all over it by romantically referencing Paul van Dyk's classics. The package could not be complete without his own PVD Club energetic pumping and bouncy powerful full on prime time, main stage version with tough raw basslines, metallic pounding grooves, swirling synths and superb colourful melodies that instantly give you goosebumps and magically take you back in the early 2000. By feeling like angels in the other side we dance until the morning and we don't want to return home cause our home is where you are Paul van Dyk. Future trance classic guaranteed! #PureGold Love IT

In what promises to be the first of a cornucopia of new productions throughout the latter half of 2014, August heralds Paul van Dyk’s long-awaited return to the singles realm. ‘Come With Me (We Are One)’ finds the electronic music overlord back in the studio with Turkish/Dutch wonderkind Ummet Ozcan. The outcome is a fiercely infectious & effective piece of floor-propelling electronic music.

‘Come With Me’ will be the first club track to be taken from the highly anticipated, Autumn 2014-release ‘Politics Of Dancing 3’.

A firm fan favourite, ‘Dae Yor’ (from van Dyk’s last long-player) notched the first production cooperation between van Dyk and Ummet Ozcan. Three years later, with the righteously anthemic ‘Come With Me’, the pair have returned to the studio together to create a fittingly large follow-up.

PvD’s Festival Mix leads the release’s charge, with a stadium wowing sound-wave of trance technique and electro-leadline ascension.

Scoring early plaudits from the dance press, ‘Come With Me’ has picked up rave early reviews in MIXMAG and a Single of the Month nod from the UK’s DJ Magazine (“all the sonorous hard-struck drums & percussion, enticing chord undulation and riff conviction a Money Shot needs”, says the Mag). It’s now primed and ready to set decks and radio waves alight globally for spinners of multiple denominations.

Subtitled ‘We Are One’, the new single also fulfils the role of anthem for PvD’s annual Berlin mega event WE ARE ONE, which will take place August 16 at the famous Zitadelle Spandau in Berlin.

If you’re looking to do your floor a major solid this month, ‘Come With Me’s the one to do it with! It’s available from all download stores today.

Dimitri Kechagias review: 2014 is definitely the best year for Paul van Dyk so far. His performances behind the decks are amazing and he appeared to so many clubs and festivals that you wonder how can human have so much strength to travel all over the world for hours and be always behind the decks so lively and with so much love for his productions. Paul van Dyk combines his forces with Ummet Ozcan for the exceptional single Come With Me (We Are One). The track brings under the same roof the characteristic emotional melodies, warm summery piano chords and massive euphoric synths that Paul van Dyk knows so well to arrange and make us adore his music even more and the tough bouncy techy groove and rough agressive basslines that Ummet Ozcan is so well known to produce with huge success as well. Powerful energetic emotional hands in the air anthem that is straight forward, mainstage, peak time and super solid and condensed perfect to become the official anthem of the We Are One festival in Berlin. The package includes the even more agressive, rough and in your face hardstyle house version by Fabio Montoya. Powerful, dynamic, cranking and ready to push your adrenaline level to the maximum. If summer festival sounds is your addiction this release will give you big satisfaction! #PureGold Love it

In a collaborative effort that joins two of the most influential producers and DJs on the dance circuit, Benny Benassi and John Dahlback deliver the epic ‘Blink Again’ via Ultra Records on 18th April. Dahlback released his hugely prolific original ‘Blink’ back in 2007, drawing on inspiration from the chart-topping and highly respected Benassi, who of course is acknowledged as one of the most illustrious dance music superstars. With the video racking up millions of YouTube plays, the single launched John’s remarkable career, and remains a testament to his trademark powerful, Electro sound. It seemed only right for John to approach Benny when the idea of reworking the iconic ‘Blink’ came about.

With both Benassi and Dahlback renowned for their production, it's no surprise that ‘Blink Again’ draws you in with a thunderous, rhythmic intro. Switching things up, that subtly addictive, pulsating riff with atmospheric female vocals and accompanying strings strips things back before the commanding, head-banging beat sweeps you along again. Look out for the hugely satisfying tempo drop into a trap-infused section after the second breakdown before a frenzied climax.

Alongside this original single comes a John Dahlback remix, taking the perfectly balanced build up and giving it a techno-fuelled urgency. The combination of the bassline and refined vocal chops make for a hard-hitting dance floor sound.

Exhilarating and distinctive, ‘Blink Again’ is set to provoke the same heightened fan reactions as with the original. As a project created by two artists of such prominence, you expect nothing less.

JOHN DAHLBACK BIO
Label owner, producer, remixer and DJ: there isn’t much John Dahlback hasn’t done during his decade-young career. Now, at just 28, he sits atop the global dance scene with a forthcoming album on one of the world’s leading (and largest) electronic labels Ultra and a diary that defines the term transatlantic as he jets back and forth between America, Ibiza and beyond. Rewind just on eleven years and we find John at the start of his professional journey, signing his first releases at the tender age of 17, which even by the youthfully dominated standards of the world of dance, is remarkable.

“It wasn’t that surprising I signed a track at such a young age,” he humbly explains, “I come from a musical background so it had been a part of my life from day one. Both my parents are musicians, as are many of my immediate family, which includes my cousin Jesper who a few of you may also be aware of!”

But, this debut turned out to be the tip of the iceberg, as the release marked the birth of a four hundred title discography. Whether it was deep house and techno for legendary imprints like Kompakt or Dessous, through to the later expansion of his style to incorporate the energy of big-room electro for the likes of Spinnin’, Protocol, Toolroom, Big Beat, Phazing and Wall there are few - if any - who can boast such a varied and impressive musical CV. However, what makes this achievement even more historic is that he also found time to establish and develop not one, but two labels all of his own.

His first, Pickadoll ran for five years from 2005 to 2010 and featured some of the world’s most cutting-edge producers; alongside his own recordings, which included two artist albums, it notched-up close on fifty releases and provided John with a very clear understanding of what it takes to run a label, a knowledge he admits was invaluable come the launch of the new imprint Mutants.

“I had a real vision about Mutants. I can now hear within a couple of seconds whether a track will fit, which is important because, although I feature some of my more experimental material on there, it’s really a showcase for who I currently think are the most exciting producers in the world.”

And, just in case there was any further doubt regarding his mission statement, John’s summer highlight of 2013 is the first in a label artist led ‘Mutants Presents’ compilation series, which he personally mixed and describes as “... (a) merger of Mutant’s past, present and future... a testament to the skill and talent of the producers we’ve featured and, in some cases, discovered.” So, keep a close watch on this space, there’s no doubt John’s devotion to Mutants will continue to help cement it’s position as one of the planet’s most exciting independent dance brands, although by hid own admission it is keeping him on his toes,

“It’s a good job the process of A&Ring the label is a by-product of my DJing,” he expands,”I’m not sure where I’d find the time otherwise!” This is no understatement; John Dahlback the DJ IS a very busy boy! In recent years his diary has bloomed and taken him around the world. Repeatedly.

Most recently it has paid the ultimate acknowledgment as he secured a residency in the fast emerging clubbing Mecca of Las Vegas at the Wynn XS, which puts him in the rarified company of a handful of notable A-listers who’ve also turned to the city as a residing base.

“I’m honoured and delighted to be one of the few who get to play in America so often,” says John with glee, “Whether it’s Vegas or beyond the crowd’s are always amazing and enthusiastic.” When not acquainting himself with one of the fifty states, John’s equally happy touring the globe, establishing himself at seminal venues and festivals such as Pacha & Ushuia Ibiza; MoS, London; Mansion & Liv, Miami; Tomorrowlands Belgium, Tomorrow World Altanta, Dance Valley, Holland; Green Valley Brazil, EMPO Mexico, Stereosonic Australia and so the list goes on...

Despite the fact John can only play one city in one country a night, he keeps his global fanbase happy (over 200k Facebook likes and counting) with his weekly Mutants Radio Podcast. Whilst John thinks being in front of a microphone ‘feels weird’, he’s fully embraced the importance of digital and social media and uses it as way to interact with his fans as much as possible as he explains,

“Feedback’s really important to me. It helps shape my output and decide on future endeavours. I know it’s been said before, but I wouldn’t be where I am without my fans so their voice is crucial. They’re the future really.” Wise and fitting words indeed: John Dahlback and the future are two things that undoubtedly go hand in hand.

MARCO BENASSI BIO
Milan born Italian DJ/producer stalwart Benny Benassi – real name Marco Benassi – is widely regarded as one of the most charming, down to earth, internationally respected and treasured artists in the music industry. With over a decade to his illustrious career already, the chart-topping megastar has wholly managed to capture the hearts of multiple generations of EDM fans across the world with his flawless trademark tech/electro/house infused sounds and charismatic performance flair. Whether he’s behind the booth or in the studio, there’s never a dull moment when Benny’s around and fortunately for us, he’s showing no signs of slowing down whatsoever. Let’s indulge in a little bit of history di Benassi…

Obviously no account of Mr Benassi’s star-spangled career could pass without special mention of the international hit single that was ‘Satisfaction’. Unleashed on the world back in 2002, this globally celebrated record catapulted Benny from a once humble dance act into a world-famous artist almost overnight. Masterfully conjured up with first cousin and production partner in crime Alessandro ‘Alle’ Benassi (the pair openly work together on all of Benny’s musical output to this day) the record saw huge success especially in Europe, as it shot to #1 in the Official Dance Chart in France for over four weeks, #2 in the Official UK Top 40 singles chart and #2 in the Official Dance Chart in Germany to name but a few. His ensuing debut solo album ‘Hypnotica’ naturally followed suit, reaching Top 20 status in the Official Album Sales Chart in France and remaining there for over a month, peaking at #5. The critically acclaimed LP was subsequently awarded the ‘European Border Breakers Award’ for racking up the most record sales for an Italian album outside of Italy.

2003 saw the irrepressible Benassi go on to win a whole host of accolades and noteworthy recognition. Bagging DJ Mag’s ‘Tune of the Year’, ‘Revelation of the Year’ in the Italian Dance Music Awards, ‘Dance Revelation of the Year’ in the Danish Music Awards – not forgetting his nomination for NRJ Radio’s International Revelation of the Year’ (France) – it started to become increasingly clear that Benny Benassi had arrived in a seriously big way.

Having hit #18 (highest new entry) in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll the previous year, 2005 then saw Benny release his second studio album ‘Phobia’ – another titanic ‘Benassi Bros’ collaboration that instantly hit the Top 20 of the French Album Sales Chart. With 2 albums and some exceptional groundwork already in place, Benny then used the latter part of the ‘noughties’ to further cement his spot as one of the most in-demand DJs in the industry. Headline performances at countless festivals around the globe (Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Movement, UV Nation and Labour of Love to name just a few); a string of high-profile remixes and collaborations with the likes of Madonna, Kelis and David Bowie; a third artist album ‘Rock n Rave’ (2008); and a brand new radio show on Sirius XM’s Electric Area were just a handful of stellar achievements – all of which bore worthy testament to the might of this truly class act. Most noteworthy of all, however, was on 10th February 2008, when Benny was awarded one of the most coveted accolades in music – a Grammy, for his exceptional rework of Public Enemy’s monster track Bring the Noise. This official recognition, coupled with his steady stream of success and achievement from the past decade would soon grab the attention of the most eminent names in music, and take the Italian to previously unbeknownst heights.

Sure enough, in 2011 Benny Benassi hit the big time. Having teamed up with Kelis, Apl.de.ap and Jean-Baptsiste for the colossal ‘Spaceship’ single – the first to be taken from his 5th studio album ‘Electroman’ – Benny then went on to join forces with R&B megastar Chris Brown to produce one of the biggest crossover records of the year. Reaching the Top 10 in the Official Singles charts in the UK and numerous other territories around the world ‘Beautiful People’ shot the popular Italian maestro to undeniable international recognition.

Just a few months later came the partnership with star vocalist Gary Go that gave us ‘Cinema’. A chart-destroying EP of epic proportions, the original radio edit went Gold in the USA and Platinum in both Australia and Canada, with Skrillex’s thunderous remix occupying the iTunes US Dance Top 10 for over 6 months and swooping a Grammy for ‘Best Remixed Recording’ in the process. The successes continued to flood in as Benny soon received a call up from the queen of pop herself, Madonna. Released worldwide at the end of March 2012, Madonna’s controversially titled twelfth studio album ‘MDNA’ featured 3 tracks produced by Benny and Alle Benassi, including the single “Girl Gone Wild” – a true honour for the Italian cousins.

If we’ve come to learn one thing about Benny Benassi it’s to expect the unexpected. Whether it’s electrifying tens of thousands of EDM lovers with his world-beating skill behind the decks, or conjuring up award winning, platinum-selling productions in the comfort of his home studio with his cousin and producer, Alle Benassi, by combining his innate raw talent with the hard work, diligence and determination to everything he touches, Benny has wholly justified his position as one of the most beloved entertainers the industry has to offer. Rest assured, there’ll be much more where this came from.

Dimitri Kechagias review: When two legends meet in the studio the result can only be outstanding. The Swedish superstar John Dahlbäck & and the Italian power master Benny Benassi deliver on Ultra Music the sure powersmasher Blink Again. We deal here with a thunderous electro meets progressive house banger that has all the ingredients to become summer festival favourite without doubts and hesitations. It starts all chunky and groovy and nicely lands on the first melodic sweet breakdown that the classical music theme is combined nicely with the female vocal that is chopped, squeezed and twisted to the max. From the background comes the hugely distorted electro smashed synthy lead that actually drives the track to the first drop that is anthemic, jumping and sweating. Quality club beats continue on the 2nd longer breakdown with short trap sequence as well combined with the huge euphoric synthy stabs that give you shivers, goosebumps and the ultimate euphoric experience. When that manic mindblowing lead strikes back you can easily guess how the crowds will react to it! Party Banger Guaranteed. Love iT
