If your ‘Politics Of Dancing 3’ anticipation levels aren’t high enough already, well this will surely put them there…
In a first time production link-up, Paul van Dyk has collaborated with those trance pharaohs Aly & Fila - reteaming in the process with vocal doyen and regular muse Sue McLaren for the magnificent, astounding ‘Guardian’.
On ‘Guardian’, Sue McLaren’s sweetly sung vocals contrast with the bittersweet nature of her meditative lyrics. At its production core Paul, Aly and Fila fuse the track with a harmonic sound storm of pads, chords and synths. Cumulatively, the track’s pacific undertones and vocal enrichment amass to take clubbers & music lovers to places they may never wish to return from!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Everything is looking great for the forthcoming compilation Politics of Dancing Vol.3 that seems that will create waves in the electronic music community. The tracks released so far from it are simply perfect and now comes the next one that is very beautiful too. For this track Paul van Dyk collaborates with the beloved Aly & Fila and on vocal is the exceptional singer Sue McLaren that we hope to see her soon with personal album as well as she really deserves it. Guardian combines the two worlds of Paul van Dyk with his established melodies that recall his classic For An Angel with the tough pounding drums and energetic basslines of Aly & Fila into one coherent uplifting euphoric trancer of the highest quality. Particularly the breakdown is exceptional with warm mesmerising melodies, variety of synthy plucks, piano chords, cinematic strings with classical orchestral music influences and right at the top the magnificent goddess of trance Sue McLaren that I hope to see her performing live this track why not at the Digital Society in Leeds in March. What is also very important that Sue sings a full song with great story and not just some short top lines. Jordan Suckley is on remix duties and the upcoming and quickly rising to the top UK trance star transforms the original into his dirty dark "Damaged" style with psy trance and tech trance elements. He remix targets the full on mainstage trance sets with aggressive foundation while he uses the full vocal and again Sue McLaren sounds very much at home. His breakdown is sensitive and emotional packed with darker synthy chords and opera like chorus voices. What's more he includes very cool break beat sequence with distorted parts of the vocal. His climax as you can expect from him goes the moody tech trance direction focused on the strong basslines and the pounding metallic drums. Pedro del Mar & RIB service the deep emotional chill out version with soothing calming melodies, warm cinematic strings and loungy jazzy grooves. Now the package gets even bigger with two additional remixes that simply extend the sonic pleasure to the maximum. Sunrise mix is a magnificent warm melodic progressive trancer perfect for the warm up sets that you want to add special glow of beauty and make the proceedings really atmospheric and inspirational. Balearic grooves, sunkissed melodies and Sue McLaren with her stunning voice and her highly emotional performance. Sunset remix is an even more laid back version with minimal lazy grooves, bubbly warm basslines, orchestral strings, emotional synths and with some abstract heavenly like parts of Sue vocals. Great version if you want to concentrate on the melodies and not on the voice. This is absolutely magical! #PureClass, #PureGold Love It
