Master of the deeper/darker/cooler trance arts, John 00 Fleming began the New Year with news of his first early ‘18 operations. Top of the info-drop was confirmation of a fourth volume in his eminent ‘Editions’ compilation series. With the first three each having posted top #1 positions on Beatport’s all-genres album chart, the expectation x anticipation axis for 4 is substantial. With a mid-Feb release date locked, bet on another ground/rule-breaking four-hour-plus safari through 2018’s progressive, tribal, deeper trance and melodic soundfields.

To give ‘Editions 4’ the reception it deserves, John has lined up a singular night of clubbing for Friday Feb 16th (release weekend for the album).

‘4’ will go to the floor for a one-off OTC expedition at London’s immortal Ministry Of Sound. Long known for its fulsome weekly DJ line-ups, John will join the very-short-indeed honour roll of spinners offered an all-night-long set in The Box at The Gallery.

Trance vet? Well then you’ll know what to expect! If you’ve never witnessed one DJ hold dominion over a floor for six hours straight, this is rite of clubbing passage you owe yourself to take. One way or another, it will be a trip, and a small moment in clubbing history to boot. Tickets have gone on sale: you can secure yours here

For those looking to make a JOOF weekend of it, the word only gets better. Pushing the boundaries again, John will headline ASOT’s first ever Progressive-dedicated stage/hall on the 17th (the night after the MoS/Gallery launch). Having picked up the phone and masterminded proceedings with Armin van Buuren (hear more on what he had to say about that here), John will bring the sound he’s championed for the greater part of two decades to central Utrecht’s Jaarbeurs arena.

More info on ‘Editions 4’s tracklist, artwork and release will soon follow!

Haifa, Israel based DJ and producer Sagy Amir aka One Million Toys debuts on JOOF Aura with the impressive two tracker entitled Tensile/NKM. Sagy is an engineer by day but by night he sets his sights on DJing and producing. Using his surroundings as inspiration he juggles his work as a physicist and musician to create a unique sound intended to take you on a journey. For over 5 years he has been racking up the releases across several top labels. We did not hesitate to sign this guy up and we know his sound will fit the JOOF family perfectly.

Tensile sets out with a nice chunky kick drum and sharp, snappy snare drum as shuffling hi hats fade in. The rhythm picks up effortlessly as a solid probing bassline is introduced. An epic journey is on the cards here and we soon settle in for the ride. Striking guitar plucks and mesmeric arpeggios are lined up against a rising pad that fills out the spectrum beautifully. On the break those pads unleash a stunning melodic display that would not be amiss on a movie score. After the break we're led deeper into the groove on this epic journey making this an absolute must have track for your collection.

NLM intros with a banging kick drum and is soon joined by crispy hi hats and sharp snares. You can feel the tech vibes literally flow out the sound as a rising synth takes us to the drop were a superb analogue style bassline takes control. Space age synth shots and a hypnotic arpeggio make for a trippy sequence and on the break this couldn't be more prominent thanks to even trippier robotic voices. A fantastic and expertly crafted production that will most definitely find its way to the floors.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]JOOF Aura presents 2 very strong compositions by One Million Toys. The very talented producer delivers  Tensile & NLM. Tensile is deep moody progressive trancer with energetic synthy hook that will drive the track forward and deliver incredible atmosphere. It has groove, hypnotic rhythm and superb sounds merged to uplift your spirit. NLM is a deeper more industrial trance affair with distorted synthy hooks and dystopian dark atmosphere with certain cyber punk aggressive raw touch to it. Both of course have the psy trance infusions to make them appropriate for JOOF Aura release. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]JOOF Aura provides 3  very strong melodic deep progressive trance tracks produced by MSZ. 3 very strong deep haunting hypnotic trancers with the right ingredients to carry the audience for a journey that seems to go on forever. All 3 tracks are well produced but you get the sense that there is no big climax that will give the audience the relief or the moment of catharsis they are waiting for. Of course the sound is class, the tribal spanky groove is solid, the basslines sharp and shaking but with stronger more emphatic melodies rather than the understated ones and a sense that this journey has a point and  we looking forward for a port to arrive will make them even stronger.
