GRAMMY®-nominated producer, DJ, and record label executive, Jax Jones, the 2nd biggest dance artist after Calvin Harris together with 2023 BRIT nominated Calum Scott make a persuasive case for giving a lover a second chance on the contagious, high-energy new single “Whistle,” released via Polydor.
Jax Jones says: “2023 will be a busy year for me; Whistle is just the start. I'm pleased I get to kick things off with a collab from Calum. His vocals are outstanding and bring so much class and emotion to Whistle.
With this run of music, I’m digging into my influences from when I was young and trying to place more of myself, my life, and my inspiration into the creative. That’s why a lot of the songs sound nostalgic and why there are lots of visual nods to my early life. For example, we shot the video for Whistle on my local buses, the 176 and the 363. I'd catch those buses nearly every day, either to my music classes or to help my mum with the shopping.
Using those routes allowed me to show my version of London, such as the multicultural aspects that influenced me musically and make up so much of who I am today. The little boy you see in the video is me. I'm travelling to my music class and I'm helping my mum with the shopping.
By showing these influences I’m exploring the idea of taking things that you grew up with and inserting yourself into them. In doing so, you're taking ownership of those things rather than putting them on a pedestal now that you're older.
I’m excited to share the new music I’ve written and produced. I hope you enjoy Whistle and remember it's just the start.”
Calum Scott says: “So happy to be collaborating with Jax on this record! I remember hearing an early demo of ‘Whistle’ and immediately wanted in with the boys to finish the song and record a vocal! Big fan of Jax as an artist but after hanging out with him and his family, I’m a big fan of him as a person too! Excited for everyone to hear ‘Whistle’!”
The official video for “Whistle” was shot in London on an old bus that Jax used to ride in Elephant & Castle, his local borough. The lives of the sundry passengers unfold as a special motion control (MoCo) camera follows them on their travels from morning until evening. Jax co-directed the video with Charlie Sarsfield (Stormzy, George Ezra).
The hitmaker recently backed the Princess of Wales campaign, supporting the development of young children and increasing the public understanding of the importance of the first five years of a child’s life alongside Fearne Cotton, Giovanna Fletcher and Professor Green.
Global hitmaker Jax enjoyed massive success in 2022 with “Where Did You Go?” a collaboration with GRAMMY® and BRIT-nominated singer, songwriter, and record producer MNEK. The track was the second biggest song of 2022 at UK radio and has amassed over 450 million combined global streams. Billboard noted, “Jones’ production manages both playfulness and soul, with MNEK’s big vocal hook showcasing the incredible shimmer of his voice.”
Calum released his second album, Bridges, which contained the hits “Heaven,” “Biblical,” “Rise” and “If You Ever Change Your Mind.” His collaboration with Lost Frequencies, “Where Are You Now,” closed out 2022 with over one billion combined global streams and attained certifications in numerous countries, including Gold in the U.S. and Platinum in the U.K. The BRIT-nominated song was one of the top 10 UK singles of the year and charted in the top 15 of Billboard’s 2022 Hot Dance/Electronic Songs tally.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Jax Jones is one of the most important hit makers of his generation with superb releases under his belt and many amazing collaborations. For his latest hit Whistle collaborates with the beloved Calum Scott. The original version is playful pop dance track with relaxing vibes for day time clubbing and beach bar summer settings. The whistle melody along with Calum delivering his exceptional performance with his sexy voice makes this an instant hit and ultra favourite anthem. Now on board is coming the one and only German sensation Robin Schulz who injects the original with his pounding drums, energetic basslines, heavy kicks and future rave synths to deliver a harder festival mainstage version that keeps alive the most important original elements and he manages to push it on that higher level. It's already a massive record all over Europe and this remix will do wonders for sure. #PureGold Love IT[/content]
David Guetta’s cutting-edge Future Rave sound returns on his new remix of La Bouche’s ‘90s classic ‘Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’ in collaboration with up-and-coming producer Hypaton.
Guetta is fresh off of a legendary run, including new smash hit ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, featuring pop megastars Anne-Marie and Coi Leray, and streaming monster ‘I’m Good (Blue)’, which hit #1 on the UK Singles chart as well as in 15 other territories including Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
‘Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’ sees the French mastermind sharing remix duties with young viral sensation Hypaton, revamping La Bouche’s 1995 original with the dark yet electrifying blend of techno and progressive house that is David Guetta’s own Future Rave sound. Since being coined by Guetta and his partner-in-crime Morten Breum, Future Rave’s futuristic mix of underground sounds with festival-sized energy has become a genre unto itself, as proved by the pair’s huge 2022 ‘Future Rave’ tour, which included a Hï Ibiza residency and an appearance at EDC, as well as November’s acclaimed Future Rave EP Episode 2.
Young production phenomenon Hypaton has picked up the Future Rave mantle, going viral with his ingenious revamps of ‘90s classics. Though he’s been producing EDM and trance since 2014, it was in 2022 that Hypaton became an Instagram reel sensation with his clever reworks, earning the attention of the mastermind behind the genre, David Guetta. His music continues to go viral, amassing over 50 million views and counting and being shared over 100,000 times by accounts for the world’s biggest football teams, news agencies, celebrities and everything in between. Armed with a plethora of new, original, cutting-edge music for 2023, Hypaton’s rise to stardom looks certain to be nothing short of meteoric.
Fast approaching 40 billion global streams in addition to this year’s ‘Producer of the Year’ win at the BRITs and DJ Mag’s #2 DJ, David Guetta has skyrocketed to #9 most streamed artist on Spotify globally, selling over 50 million records worldwide. In his career he has reached top position across I-Tunes charts over 113 countries and achieving over 25 million Spotify followers worldwide. His previous single ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ hit #1 on the UK Singles chart, #1 on Global Spotify, #1 on Spotify UK, #1 on Apple UK, #1 on Amazon Music UK, #2 on UK Shazam, #3 on Global Shazam, as well as #1 in 15 territories including Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
Last month the international icon won the ‘Dance Song of The Year’ award for his latest smash ‘I’m Good’ at the IHeartRadio Music Awards, where he was also previously named ‘Dance Act of the Year’. He also recently received awards for ‘DJ of the Year’ at the NRJ Music Awards, Producer of the Year at the Brits and #1 Producer by 1001Tracklists, continuing to cement his status at the very top of the DJ pile.
An electrifying Future Rave rework of a 90s classic, ‘Be My Lover (2023 Mix)’ shows David Guetta at the peak of his powers - and at the cutting edge of house music.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Hypaton collaborate with David Guetta to recreate in the most modern and futuristic way the classic eurodance anthem by La Bouche - Be My Lover (2023 Mix). This brand new rendition is powerful headbanging production with driving electryfying pulsating basslines, pounding drums, sharp kicks and excellent application of the iconic vocals. You can expect clubs and festivals to blow away whenever the DJ will about to drop this exceptional firestarter. The main synthy hook is dark and sinister perfect to add the underground twist. Short breakbeat section in the breakdown works really well to build anticipation along with the perfect vocals until the manic synthy hook is unleashed to give goosebumps and awake your senses. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

His first album is currently in production, the adventure has only just begun for Ridwello!
Dimitris: Your Top 3 biggest music career achievements in 2022:
Ridwello: Oh...I don't really have a TOP3 for this year... But 2022 was a great year for me in terms of music releases!
I only released "Future Rave" style tracks on a label that I really like, Sirup Music.
The first release was my track "Tomorrow" on September, and second track was "Halfway" released on December.
Just before, I released my track "Extasy" on my own label, Madafaka Music, with a good remixes pack: Scorch (FRA), Damon Grey & Arkhazium, Chic Factory remixes.
Best of 2022
1) Best track(s) and short comment for each track from other fellow artists of 2022
Ridwello: You asked me for the best track?? It's definitely one of my track!
Ahahaha I'm joking of course ;)
No, I don't have a "best track" in my head, But I like the track "Left To Right" by Odd Mob! It really is
a bomb.
2) Best of 2022 personal productions with short comment about them:
Ridwello: My best track of 2022 was my last track 'Halfway', he was playlisted by Beatport a few days after its release.
It's very difficult these days to stand out from other artists, so when a big site like Beatport puts us forward, it's always rewarding.
3) Best Artist of 2022(DJ & producer) with short comment:
Ridwello: I think it would be MORTEN! With David Guetta, they form a very innovative DUO, their sets are captivating and explosive!
4) Best Remix(es) from other fellow artists of 2022 with short comment :
Ridwello: For me, the best remix of 2022 it's 'Satisfaction' by David Guetta!
The first time I heard it, I said to myself "That's not the original at all", and I really liked the style of reverb played on the chorus, like in the "Future Rave" genre.
And when I found out it was David Guetta's remix, I immediately understood that it was in the Future Rave style ahaha
5) YOUR Best Remix which you have produced of 2022 with short comment?
Ridwello: In fact, I produced a remix yes, but I won't talk about it for the moment because I don't have the right :) It will certainly be released in the coming year, I know there was a delay, so for the moment I can't say anything more...
6) Best Remixer(s) of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: It's quite difficult to answer concretely, because there are many... I'm thinking especially of Meduza's "Tell me why" remix!
So I would answer MEDUZA for this question :)
7) Best New Talent of 2022 (DJ or producer) with short comment :
Ridwello: Why ask me this question?? If I'm here today, the question is already answered, isn't it? LOL
Every day I listen to music on Spotify, Youtube... But honestly I don't have any "new talent" in mind.
8) Best electronic dance music album of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: Definitely, Guetta & Morten's EP on their "Future Rave label" !!
This style breathes new life into the EDM sphere!
9) Best electronic dance music label of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: For me, the best electronic dance music label of 2022 it's Sirup Music!
Just listen to their catalog, everything is qualitative!
Some labels sign music, just to make news, but the quality is not there.
With Sirup Music team, I feel helped in what I do with them!
10) Best music composition software of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: Ableton Live for sure ;)
I always say...if you can't do something with Ableton, you can't do it anywhere else!
This software is super practical, whether in terms of composition, mixing, arrangements etc... Everything is easy to do with it!
And I'm not saying that because I work with it, I'm saying that because I also know Fl Studio and Logic Pro, but for me, nothing comes close to Ableton Live.
The only "regret" I have, ultimately, is its price! Quite expensive compared to the competition.
11)Best club event /festival/music conference of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: The best festival and especially in which I dream of playing on the Mainstage, is Tomorrowland !!
Everyone knows it, it's the dream of many artists to perform there.
Childrens have Disneyland, adults have Tomorrowland :) 12) Your Best personal DJ Gig & DJ performance of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: Unfortunately, I don't have the chance to play in festivals and clubs for the moment... In France, it's very complicated to play my style of music. Here, it's urban music.
I am continually looking for a manager & booking agent who believes in me and what I do. At the moment I'm alone, and it's very difficult to perform.
13) Best radio show/podcast/twitch stream or Vlog(video blog) of 2022 with short comment. It can be yours or from other artists you respect:
Ridwello: For this question I am thinking directly of Joachim Garraud, who has done more than 150 live interviews, where he presents other artists! Each live was a different artist, it was very rewarding during the covid.
14) Best production or DJ equipment (a)software & (b) hardware) of 2022 with short comment:
Ridwello: For years, I only used Pioneer. Recently, I discovered the Denon SC6000, and I must say that I am particularly amazed!
15) Best sound sample that has been used frequently in electronic dance music tracks of 2022 (personal or from other artists):
Ridwello: For my part, I love work with "Output Arcade" and "Splice". These are gold mines for every producer in 2022.
I'm not saying that you should only use this, but it helps a lot to find ideas and work around it.
16) Best technical tips that you learnt of 2022 in relation to your DJing or music productions:
Ridwello: The best advice I've learned is to not try to do what already exists! You have to do only what you love!
17)Best hobby or non music related activity of 2022.
Ridwello: My hobby, besides music, is computer hardware! I like building computers from A to Z, trying out components, discovering new the technologies of tomorrow...
18) Best ever electronic dance music track(s) of all times with short comment?
Ridwello: Without a doubt "The one" by Swedish House Mafia! This track has been giving me chills since the first day I discovered it.
And if I can allow myself a second best track of all times, I would say "Bromance" by Avicci / Tim Bergling
19) From 1 (bad) to 10(super excellent) what is your rate for 2022 in electronic dance music?
Ridwello: I will put the note of 6 concerning me. To get a 10, I would have to have a booking agency ;)
Dimitris: In which TV series, film or advert would you like to experience your track being used? Which track was the best placed on films/TV series/advert/official aftermovie of a festival from another artist?
Ridwello: Honestly, it doesn't matter where and where. Synchronization is what allows an artist to generate money, unlike streaming, and it definitely puts the artist first plan.
Dimitris: During 2022 we experienced many tracks that were hybrids of music styles & genres. Do believe that music genres or styles are still relevant today?
Ridwello: I really think that there are no more borders in music!
The base will remain house music, and on 90% of EDM producers, we all use it!
It's very difficult these days to say which style this or that music belongs to, because everything will depend on how each person feels.
It is the very principle of music, the feeling and the emotions are different for everyone ;)
Dimitris: Do you have any concrete plans for 2023 regarding future releases, tracks, albums, collaborations, DJ gigs? Please provide us the juicy details.
Ridwello: I would like to be able to have the chance to do more and more festivals / clubs, to produce more and more in order to make my music known to as many people as possible.
Making music is great, but expressing it on stage in front of an audience remains the goal of every artist!
Regarding collaborations, I have some collab planned because I'm on the production of my first album, and I really want this album to reflect who I am, so I need some singers to tranform a simple instrumentale version into a good quality dance music !
Dimitris: Your message & wishes for 2023.
Ridwello: For 2023, I really wish the best for everyone, and may the covid be behind us! Peace, happiness and health to all :)
David Guetta is releasing the last single from his upcoming 'Episode 2' with MORTEN. 'You Can't Change Me' drops with Main Stage power and moniker Future Rave innovation and freshness. The instrumental is surrounded by Raye's emotional but delicate and high vocals. The lead synth attacks with a noisy, catchy melody.

It's a highly energetic mainstage banger with thumping basslines, pounding drums and great vocals that will be super hard not to identify with and send your message to those who wish to change you and make you whatever they wish you to be. The climax reveals the fantastic euphoric synthy riff that is uplifting to the maximum taken from the early days of trance for sure. Great track for mainstages and clubs without doubts. #PureGold Love IT [/content]
One of the standouts cuts on Armin van Buuren's 'A State Of Trance 2022' mix album, the Future Rave Mix of 'Gold' is what you'd call 100% mainstage material. Produced by Belgian duo D'Angello & Francis in tandem with London-based, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Belle Humble, this vocal-infused, supercharged masterpiece will be treasured by dance music fans no matter their stylistic preference.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]While the original is deep melodic progressive trance the brilliant Future Rave mix transforms it into a huge mainstage friendly banger with punchy basslines, thumping drums, rough kicks and huge trancy synthy hooks playing that dominating melody that demands to jump and have fun while you sing-a-long with Belle Humble truly sensitive voice. #PureGold material that has strong lyrical content and rough, raw and extra powerful sounds. Love IT[/content]
Trance is my favorite music style, and future rave is more popular now. This song incorporates elements of trance and future rave to make the song more fresh and fashionable.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] The upcoming DJ and producer Aryue from China service on In My Opinion the energetic and ultra powerful banger Better Than This. Pumping basslines, thumping kicks, intense drive and cool female vocal top line that adds certain emotional touch to the track. The breakdown is atmospheric allowing the epic main synthy hook to reach to the highest highs and lead the track to its epic full on big room climax. With influences from mainstage sounds and the melodic proglifting trance Better Than This convince the dance fans and will attract them to push the repeat button many times. #PureBassPower Love iT [/content]
