[item value="10"]Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano - Amazone Project [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s Amazone Project is a masterclass in contemporary house music production, delivering a deeply immersive listening experience that excels across all aspects of technical and artistic execution. From the very first track, “Raiz Brasileira (Extended Mix)” featuring Bruno Martini, Carlinhos Brown, and Bruna Magalhães, the duo sets a vibrant and rhythmically layered tone. The track’s intricate percussive elements and rich harmonic progression establish a cohesive soundscape that flows effortlessly into “Du Du Dum (Extended Mix),” maintaining both energy and musicality. Each subsequent composition demonstrates remarkable attention to track transitions and pacing. The extended mixes are meticulously crafted to sustain momentum without feeling repetitive, ensuring that the listener remains fully engaged throughout the journey. The musical diversity and variety on the album is evident in how the duo blends traditional Afro-Latin elements with modern electronic production techniques. Tracks like “Bira (Extended Mix)” with Idd Aziz and “Uyankenteza (Extended Mix)” with Afro Warriors & Toshi highlight the duo’s mastery in fusing authentic world rhythms with contemporary club energy. This diversity is paired with melodic hooks and harmonic sophistication that create instant emotional resonance. In particular, “Good Life (Extended Mix)” with Inner City channels a nostalgic yet refreshing vibe, evoking a sense of euphoria that is both timeless and modern. The rhythm and groove consistency remains impeccable throughout, with basslines and percussion that are both danceable and hypnotic, providing a perfect balance between movement and musicality. From a production quality standpoint, the project demonstrates exceptional sound design and spatial awareness. Every element—from kick drums to atmospheric effects—is carefully sculpted to occupy its own space in the mix, achieving both clarity and fullness. Dynamic range and loudness balance are expertly managed, which is critical for both club play and streaming platforms. The application of effects, reverbs, and delays adds a three-dimensional quality to the music, immersing the listener in a sonic landscape that is both expansive and intimate. Technical consistency and mastering quality are uniformly strong across all tracks, demonstrating a cohesive sonic identity that reinforces the duo’s artistic vision. Conceptually, the Amazone Project tells a compelling musical story, transporting listeners through an emotional and cultural journey that resonates deeply. The energy of the tracks not only ignites dancefloors but also has significant positive effects on mental and physical well-being. Research in music therapy and neuroscience indicates that rhythmic, high-energy music with positive harmonic overtones can reduce stress, enhance mood, and even improve cognitive performance (Thoma et al., 2013; Koelsch, 2010). For fitness and wellness classes, the consistent BPM and powerful grooves of tracks like “Jambole (Extended Mix)” and “Friday Night (Extended Mix)” can improve exercise adherence and intensity by stimulating dopamine and endorphin release (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). The music’s immersive atmosphere facilitates a flow state, enhancing both focus and motivation during physical activity or mindfulness routines. The emotional resonance and catchiness of the project ensure high replay value, while its innovation and genre contribution reaffirm Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s standing as forward-thinking producers in the house and tribal electronic scene. By integrating global cultural elements with cutting-edge production techniques, the duo not only crafts music tailored for clubs and festivals but also contributes to the broader movement of music as a tool for wellness, community, and emotional upliftment. #PureGold LoveIt [/content]

[item value="10"]Dragonette, Moeaike, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano & Cat Dealers - Summer Thing [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]'Summer Thing,' originally a sun-soaked hit from Dragonette, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Cat Dealers, and Bruno Martini, receives a masterful genre transformation by Moeaike. This remix ventures into the realm of afrohouse, characterized by its hypnotic 120 BPM tempo, which perfectly balances energy and groove, making it ideal for late-night dance floors. Technically, Moeaike’s production showcases meticulous attention to sonic detail. The deep basslines are robust yet controlled, providing a solid foundation that anchors the track without overpowering the other elements. The tribal percussion is layered with precision, incorporating congas, shakers, and intricate rhythmic patterns that add a dynamic, organic feel, enhancing the afrohouse aesthetic. The warm sonic textures are crafted through expert use of reverb and delay effects, creating an expansive soundscape that envelops the listener. Synth pads with rich harmonic content subtly fill the background, adding depth and emotional resonance. Moeaike’s choice of analog synth sounds contributes to the track’s warm, immersive vibe, distinguishing it from more sterile digital productions. Vocally, the remix retains the essence of the original but enhances it with strategic processing. The vocals are mixed prominently, with slight reverb and delay to integrate seamlessly into the atmospheric backdrop while still standing out. The use of occasional vocal chops adds a modern, club-ready flair without detracting from the song’s emotive core. In terms of production techniques, sidechain compression is subtly applied, particularly on the bass and pads, to create a pulsing effect that complements the rhythmic drive. The arrangement is thoughtfully crafted, with tension and release moments that maintain listener engagement, expertly transitioning between breakdowns and drops. Overall, Moeaike’s rendition of 'Summer Thing' is a technically sophisticated, emotionally resonant afrohouse track that reimagines the original with finesse. Its production values and techniques not only highlight Moeaike’s prowess but also ensure it resonates powerfully in club environments. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

The first release of an exciting collaborative EP by Tomorrowland Music and SIZE Records

In a collaborative triumph, dynamic Dutch duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Dutch powerhouse producer Magnificence have joined forces for their 2023 rework of Steve Angello’s legendary house record ‘Monday’, co-released on Tomorrowland Music and SIZE Records today! Celebrating 20 years of SIZE Records this year, label boss and one third of Swedish House Mafia Steve Angello tapped into the Dutch producers to give a modern update to his iconic track from 2009. Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s and Magnificence’s rework keeps the original’s memorable bassline intact while giving the classic house cut a fresh and funky tribal sound feel – a fun and highly energetic tune full of summer appeal.

The 2023 rework of ‘Monday’ marks the first release of an exciting collaborative EP by Tomorrowland’s imprint and SIZE Records, landing right on time for Steve Angello’s highly-anticipated special 20 year celebration set ‘Steve Angello presents SIZE XX’ on Tomorrowland’s Freedom stage on Sunday July 30.

Steve Angello about the collaboration with Tomorrowland Music: "We've always had a thing with Tomorrowland, because we are like-minded and we work for something that we love. Working together with the family of Tomorrowland, I feel like it's meant to be. For us to work with their artists and musical platform, just put out great records, have fun together, perform and enjoy, make people smile - that's what it's all about!"
About Steve Angello

Long before garnering GRAMMY® Award nominations, performing to millions of fans on multiple continents, crashing charts worldwide, and tallying streams in the billions, artist, DJ, producer, and Swedish House Mafia Co-Founder Steve Angello realized his purpose as a kid in Sweden. He collaborated with childhood friend Sebastian Ingrosso before launching his own label Size during 2003. He also teamed up with Axwell in Supermode, landing a hit with “Tell Me Why.” In 2008, he co-founded Swedish House Mafia with Axwell and Ingrosso. They garnered consecutive GRAMMY® nods for “Best Dance Recording” with the platinum “Save the World” in 2012 and quintuple-platinum “Don’t You Worry Child” in 2013. They sold out legendary venues—including Milton Keynes Bowl and Madison Square Garden—and delivered historic sets at Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, and beyond. Plus, Steve asserted himself as a solo force of nature. He occupied a spot on DJ Mag’s coveted “Top 100 DJs” list for fourteen consecutive years and received two DJ Awards. He has delivered official remixes for everyone from Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, and Depeche Mode to Fergie and Moby. Following his full- length debut Wild Youth, he ascended to another creative peak on his 2018 sophomore offering, Human, collaborating with Bishop T.D. Jakes on “Rejoice,” Pusha T on “Freedom,” Barns Courtney on “Dopamine,” and more. 2021 marked the momentous comeback of Swedish House Mafia with their long-awaited debut LP, Paradise Again, clinching #1 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and UK Dance Albums Chart. They launched the blockbuster Paradise Again World Tour, canvasing 29 cities in 11 countries across two continents for five months. As always, Steve will be unleashing more music and shifting perspectives further in 2023.

About Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano

The electronic music landscape has changed a fair bit since Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano started their journey, but the stature and widespread dance floor appeal of the iconic duo has remained undeniably grand. From their earliest releases on Size Records and Spinnin’ to the recent batch of incendiary tracks released on their own imprint (SONO Music), the pair’s distinct signature style has not only helped them cultivate a large and dedicated global following, but also enabled them to uphold a commendable reputation across international borders.

Drawn into their craft by influential figures such as Masters At Work, Erick Morillo, Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig and DJ Gregory, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano were quick to notice their musical chemistry after a chance meeting in 2006. DJ Mag, the dance music outlet that saw the pair claim a position in the 2021 and 2022 edition of their annual Top 100 DJs poll, provided an accurate description: “James and Marciano represent the perfect storm; together delivering a vibrant onstage energy, a polished approach behind the decks, a sexy image that’s a no-brainer to market, as well as a sound that’s a perfectly stirred fusion of house and techno, Latin and tribal percussion.”

It didn’t take Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano long to become one of the most prolific electronic outfits from the Netherlands. Showcasing their unrestrained energy from the get-go with a diverse selection of releases and early linkups with the likes of Hardwell, Chocolate Puma, DubVision and Sander van Doorn, the Dutchmen began to infect the live circuit with their tribal rhythms, soon gracing the mainstage line-ups of the in-demand festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, EDC Las Vegas, Mysteryland, AMF, Kingsland and Creamfields. And as the global call for Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano began to grow louder, so did their commitment to the scene as one of its trailblazing acts.

Taking their responsibilities seriously, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano founded their SONO Music label in 2017 to provide the next generation of dance music superstars with a platform to release from. An integral member of the Armada Music family, the label continues to uphold its founders’ core values, valuing artistry and authenticity over pigeonholed products. A vast proportion of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s own work has found a home on the imprint, as well as tracks from Armin van Buuren, Sofi Tukker, Dragonette, Cat Dealers, Bruno Martini and rising talents Novak, YAX.X, Leon Benesty, Valexx and many more. The duo have big ambitions for the Label going forward.

Coexisting with their demanding tour schedule and frequent studio sessions, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano’s weekly radio show has been an integral aspect of their artistic careers since its launch in the early-2010s. Since then, Sexy by Nature (SBN) has not only delighted at-home listeners, but also expanded to stages at major festivals such as Tomorrowland. The radio show is currently syndicated to over 20 countries and 36 radio stations, besides their weekly prime-time Friday night show on 538 in The Netherlands and a monthly show on One World Radio (Tomorrowland).

Throughout their endeavours, whether that’s hosting a SONO label night during Amsterdam Dance Event, heading up ground-breaking livestreams or pushing the envelope with critically acclaimed singles such as ‘Summer Thing’ and ‘Better Things’ and setting a new benchmark with their highly acclaimed and gold-status debut album, ‘Fundamentals’ , Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano have proven themselves to be a step ahead of the game. And as they move into 2023 , expect the unexpected. That’s been the SJRM trademark since day one.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The summer is officially over but manage to left over some great tracks like the 4 great tunes included on the Affective EP of our beloved super sexy adrenaline charged Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Tribal grooves, punchy drums, tropical house influences, exotic feel good chilling melodies, warm piano chords and superb vocals with lyrics that have something very current and interesting to sing a long. All 4 have the right energy to stand in big clubs but also daytime radio stations will have big pleasure to playlisted and recall some great holiday memories. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

A staple in the many live sets of Armin van Buuren and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano this summer, 'You Are Too' is the next evolution of the Dutchmen's recent Ibiza anthem. Fresh from spoiling the crowd at Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, Untold Festival, Neversea Festival, and of course HI Ibiza, this cut brings the heat in twofold.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The very clever and extremely infectious big room anthem You Are by Armin van Buuren and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano returns big time in its You Are Too. Now the track has the signature sound of label heads Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano who know how to build a banging version. Tribal house beats, heavy Latin drums, exhilarating bass, uplifting synthy hook, sexy naughty groove, carefree rhythm and very strong lyrics that simply stuck in your brain for ages. Quality arrangement that keep the dancefloor busy and the mainstages burning without second though! You Are Classy for sure! #PureGold #PureBomb Love iT[/content]
