[item value="10"]PARAFRAME & PUROFY - Feel The Silence[/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"] “Feel The Silence” by PARAFRAME & PUROFY exemplifies the cutting edge of melodic techno production. Clocking in at 126 BPM, the track leverages a meticulously balanced mix of deep, pulsating basslines and punchy, side-chained kicks that anchor the rhythm with authority. The sound design demonstrates advanced layering techniques: melancholic synths interweave with spacey string pads, while atmospheric textures provide a sense of vastness and immersion. The drop is characterized by a crisp transient snap and a resonant low-end impact, achieved through precise EQ sculpting and parallel compression. Spatial production plays a critical role in the track’s allure. Delays and reverbs are applied with subtle automation to create evolving stereo fields, producing a three-dimensional listening environment. The vocal processing is minimal yet effective, using light saturation and mid-side EQ to ensure clarity and emotional depth without overshadowing instrumental elements. Transitions between sections are seamless, employing rising white noise sweeps, filtered percussion, and harmonic layering to build momentum organically. From a psychological perspective, “Feel The Silence” holds notable value for mental wellness and fitness environments. Studies indicate that electronic music with a steady tempo between 120–130 BPM can stimulate endorphin release, improve cardiovascular endurance, and enhance workout performance (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). Furthermore, melodic techno’s repetitive rhythmic patterns can induce a meditative state, reducing stress and promoting mental clarity, akin to the effects observed in rhythmic entrainment therapies (Thaut et al., 1999). In wellness and yoga classes, the deep harmonic layers and atmospheric textures offer an immersive soundscape that encourages mindfulness and flow. The track’s melancholic yet uplifting progressions can evoke emotional release, fostering a positive mood—supported by research linking music-induced dopamine release to enhanced emotional regulation (Salimpoor et al., 2011). “Feel The Silence” is a masterclass in modern melodic techno production, offering both auditory excitement for the dancefloor and therapeutic benefits for mental and physical wellness. Its high replay value, polished sound design, and emotional resonance make it a standout track for DJs, fitness instructors, and wellness practitioners alike. #PureGold Love IT[/content]

[item value="10"]BT - Flaming June (PARAFRAME Remix) [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]BT's legendary "Flaming June" makes a triumphant return through the masterful lens of PARAFRAME with a remix that is as technically compelling as it is emotionally resonant. This 128 BPM powerhouse seamlessly fuses elements of melodic deep and raw progressive trance with a contemporary twist of melodic house and techno, creating an auditory experience that feels both timeless and futuristic. The remix kicks off with a meticulously crafted intro, rich in atmospheric pads and subtle percussive textures that set an enigmatic mood. The rhythmic backbone is defined by crisp, punchy kicks layered with tightly programmed hi-hats and shuffling shakers, which provide a dynamic yet steady groove. The bassline is a standout feature—deep, rolling, and analog in texture, it provides an undercurrent of warmth and drive that anchors the track. PARAFRAME excels in intricate sound design. The remix showcases lush, evolving synth pads and ethereal arps that gradually build tension. The hallmark of "Flaming June," its anthemic, euphoric synth riffs, are reimagined with modern sound design techniques. These riffs are crafted using layered supersaws with carefully modulated filters, creating that iconic, hair-raising effect. The use of reverb and delay effects is both expansive and controlled, ensuring spatial depth without muddying the mix. The mix is exceptionally clean, with each element occupying its own sonic space. The dynamic range is preserved, allowing for the track’s crescendos to truly soar. High-frequency elements sparkle without harshness, while the low-end remains solid and defined. The mastering process retains the warmth and analog feel of the original while enhancing it with the punch and clarity expected in modern productions. This remix shines because it masterfully retains PARAFRAME’s signature deep, mysterious sound while paying homage to BT's euphoric synth-driven anthems. The fusion of old and new, classic and futuristic, results in a track that not only gives goosebumps but also reaffirms the timelessness of "Flaming June." #PureGold #LoveIT [/content]

01: Avis Vox - Breaking Out (Original Mix)
02: Avis Vox - Breaking Out (Extended Mix)

2024 proved to be a big 365 for Avis Vox. It saw the release of ‘Skin’, her debut longplayer, which surpassed its first million Spotify streams within months of release. Off the back of it came hits like ‘Block Rocking Beats’, (which found turntable favour with Solomun at his recent Sphere LV show) and ‘Illusion’, which racked up 700,000 TikTok views. In and around, the supremely talented artist has kept airwaves and turntables alight, through the likes of her A*S*Y*S* collaboration ‘Body, Mind & Soul’ (which spent six weeks in the Beatport peaktime techno chart), ‘Silent’ alongside Miss Monique and ‘Bird Life’, which featured on PARAFRAME’s ‘Metropolis’ album earlier in the year.

In name and nature ‘Breaking Out’s exactly what she’s doing with her latest though, as Avis once again assumes full lyrical, vocal and studio control to deliver a firestarting new release.

From the off, ‘Breaking Out’ pulses with hypnotically subby bass and rhythmic percussives, while its techy FX and scything sub-riffs add to its darker energy. Through her song, Avis’s explores themes of self-expression, personal identity and permanence. “This is who I want to be … for life”, she affirms, as ‘Breaking Out’s curling 303 creeps out of its double-deep drop to deliver a wild ride conclusion.

Floor-bound, start-through-finish, Avis Vox expands the room today with ‘Breaking Out’. Find it wherever the quality electronic music is streamed or sold. HERE

[item value="10"]Avis Vox - Breaking Out [/item]
[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Avis Vox’s latest release on Black Hole Recordings, "Breaking Out," is an exceptional melodic techno anthem clocking in at 130 BPM, exemplifying peak-time energy with a meticulous production process. The track is anchored by deep, resonant basslines that are finely tuned to create a pulsating drive, complemented by thumping kicks that maintain a consistent, heart-thumping rhythm. The punchy percussion layers are crafted with precision, offering crisp, syncopated hits that enhance the track’s dynamic flow. Diving into the technical details, "Breaking Out" showcases a masterful use of synthesis and sound design, likely utilizing analog synths and digital plugins to achieve its rich, textured soundscape. The basslines exhibit a warm, analog feel, possibly shaped through subtractive synthesis techniques, while the leads and atmospheric pads suggest the use of reverb and delay effects to create expansive sonic spaces. Influences from Moonbeam and Paraframe are evident in the track’s intelligent arrangement and emotive undertones, blending seamlessly with the nostalgic essence of the late 90s German trance scene, reminiscent of Jam & Spoon’s monumental sound. The track structure is meticulously crafted, with builds and drops that are both predictable yet thrilling, maintaining listener engagement through subtle variations and evolving motifs. Avis Vox’s vocal performance adds a distinctive character to "Breaking Out." The vocals are processed with effects such as slight pitch modulation, reverb, and delay, enhancing their ethereal quality without overshadowing the instrumental elements. The breakdown section is particularly memorable, featuring a haunting melody that lingers long after the track concludes—a testament to its compelling harmonic progression and catchy phrasing.Overall, "Breaking Out" is not just a track but an immersive auditory experience, showcasing Avis Vox’s talent in blending technical proficiency with emotional resonance. It’s a single poised to resonate on dance floors and in personal playlists alike, marking a significant step in her artistic journey. #PureGold Love iT [/content]

The Future is what Pavel Khvaleev does … until perhaps he doesn’t. Are we about to shatter a decade-long universal truth? Well, a little bit. Pavel’s fifth longform takes both name and inspiration from Fritz Lang’s iconic Metropolis - a breathtaking vision of retro-modern grandeur, meeting expressionist dystopia, high above cloudscraping edifices and stark industrial backdrops. That however was as so close to a hundred years ago as to make little difference. Pavel, by contrast, only began work on his ‘Metropolis’ after the release of his last two studio albums (‘Inhale’ and ‘Exhale’), back in 2021.

To do so, he’s drawn on a wellspring of collaborators from the pool of actors, singers, songwriters and voice artists he’s built up over twenty years of film and musicmaking. To put that into ‘Metropolis’s context, it includes Ryan Masson (soon to be seen in season 2 of The Last of Us) and the recently Grammy nominated singer Haley Johnsen.

A dazzling collage of progressive and melodic house, fringed with techno, February 2025 finds him ready to release this singular reimagining. Welcome to the world of PARAFRAME’S ‘Metropolis’.

1927’s Metropolis was a fusion of visual storytelling, uncanny silent era ether and strikingly toned music - a modus that Khvaleev’s respectfully channelled into his interpretation. When composing, his mind’s eye will take him places visually very specific indeed. To spaces that could be, well … anywhere but here. Naturally though, the frustration was he was ‘there’, but his audience wasn’t. Waiting for technology to catch up has long been the bane of the visionary, but historically the payoff is it gets there in the end. That was where Pavel finally found himself three years ago, and is also where he has broken step with Lang. The ‘playground’ that 3D engine technology now afforded him allowed him to place himself, not in front of ‘Metropolis’s towering structures, but inside them - within them. And to do that, he used Unreal Engine - the same tool that studios employ to visually power games like Fortnite and shows like The Mandalorian.

The Frankfurt-based artist goes on to explain. “I already had good experience creating short 3D animations with Unreal Engine, so I decided to work on a conceptual, hour-long film, which integrated my live performances and that of my vocalists. 3D designer Vasiliy Poryagin sent me concept ideas for futuristic locations, that I then rebuilt and refined through Unreal, adapting them to become the visual component of ‘Metropolis’. I changed entire buildings, rearranged architecture and added wildlife, all the while being able to see the results rendered in real-time.”

Completing the project also required a collaborative troop of players, something Pavel already had close at hand. “Aside from their talent’, he continues, ‘many of these artists have fascinating backgrounds. Ryan Masson for example is a successful Hollywood actor, with one of his latest roles being in the new season of HBO's The Last of Us. The wonderful and charming Haley Johnsen was nominated for a Grammy last year with her solo project.

Boticka, whose voice can be heard in the track ‘We Are The Only Ones’, has the most captivating and sensual tone in the world—or at the very least France! The guys from Denton Thrift were simply born to sing, and this is already our second collaboration together. Avis Vox, my wife, is essential to every one of my albums; I couldn’t imagine releasing one without her involvement.”

From one to the next, ‘Metropolis’s metropoles each vary in their aesthetic. From the worn and industrialized to the borderline pristine, each tonally reflects the audioscape PARAFRAME’s composed for it The technotic drive of recent single ‘Mermaids’ leans into, if not quite the apocalyptic, then certainly the worn and dystopian. By contrast, ‘Breathe’ models a refreshingly colourful, hyper-modern vision of mechanised industria. “I spent almost three years working on this album’ concludes Pavel.’ It was a long journey because sometimes it’s hard to know when a track is truly finished and ready to share. Each song has its own story and unique feel, but at the same time, they’re all connected by ‘Metropolis’s overarching vibe and atmosphere.”

01: PARAFRAME - Panic (Original Mix)
02: PARAFRAME - Panic (Extended Mix)

In 2021 Pavel Khvaleev advanced a bold new vision that began to challenge the very idea of what an electronic music release was. Created as much for eye as ear, his multisensory ‘Exhale’ album launched the Pavel Khvaleev Presents PARAFRAME experience.

From its commencement Pavel’s intention was always to un-dock his name from the project and let PARAFRAME exist in its own universe. At the start of this summer the Denton Swift collab ‘Solid Breaker’ began that process and it continues today with the release of PARAFRAME’s first solo outing, ‘Panic’,

Echoing the unique methodology behind PARAFRAME, ‘Panic’ nestles organically within a nexus of several musical sub-genres. House-patterned drums & rhythmic percussives, technoir bass & harmonics and FX’d electronica are blended into a ceaselessly hypnotic piece, that’s as addictive as it is floor-driving.

The music is only half of ‘Panic’s genius though. Pavel’s mind has envisioned an every-bit-as imaginative visual component to sit alongside its sonics. A work of art itself, its accompanying imagery is part Avant Garde film, part provocative music video and part Dalì-esque artistic canvas.

So, the question is … should you ‘Panic’?? The answer is most definitely ‘yes’
