Dreamstate 2025 in Long Beach, California, became a historic moment for trance enthusiasts on November 22, 2025, as Tiësto, the legendary DJ and producer, returned to his trance roots with a monumental set. The performance fused updated versions of classic anthems with cutting-edge tracks from today’s leading trance artists, creating an experience that resonated deeply with both longtime fans and a new generation of ravers.

A Setlist Bridging Past and Present

Tiësto’s carefully curated tracklist demonstrated his mastery in blending nostalgia with innovation:

Opening with Uplift: Tiësto & FORS – Bring Me To Life and Tiësto – Lost In The Ocean immediately pulled the crowd into a euphoric state.

Modernized Classics: His 2025 remixes of Worakls – Lueur and Delerium ft. Sarah McLachlan – Silence breathed new life into timeless melodies.

Mashups and Anthems: Standouts such as Tiësto Saltwater vs. Gladys Knight (Mashup) and Tiësto vs. Billy Gillies & Betsy – Suburban Train vs. Fair captivated fans by bridging the golden era of trance with today’s sound.

Peak Energy Moments: Push – Universal Nation (Tiësto Techrave Mix) and Tiësto – Adagio For Strings closed the set with the high-energy euphoria Dreamstate is known for.

The full setlist included tracks by rising talents like DJ HEARTSTRING, Benwal, and Funk Tribu, underscoring Tiësto’s commitment to supporting the future of trance while honoring its roots.

The Health and Wellness Impact of Trance Music

Beyond its emotional resonance, Tiësto’s Dreamstate performance had measurable benefits for health and wellness. Scientific research highlights several ways trance music and dance festivals can positively impact the body and mind:

Cardiovascular Fitness: Studies in the Journal of Sports Medicine (2023) show that dancing at high BPM (beats per minute) events like trance festivals can elevate heart rates to levels comparable to moderate aerobic exercise, improving cardiovascular health.

Mood Elevation and Stress Relief: Research published in Frontiers in Psychology (2022) suggests that electronic dance music triggers dopamine release and reduces cortisol, lowering stress and increasing feelings of happiness.

Mindfulness and Flow: According to the Journal of Positive Psychology (2021), repetitive beats and immersive light shows facilitate “flow states,” enhancing focus and promoting mental well-being.

Social Connection: Collective experiences, such as dancing with thousands of like-minded fans, have been linked to increases in oxytocin, the “bonding hormone,” which strengthens social and emotional health.

An Experience of Sonic Healing

As the lights pulsed and waves of sound washed over the crowd, Tiësto’s set became more than a performance—it was a session of sonic therapy. Tracks like Elements of Life and Adagio for Strings served as both an emotional climax and a meditative reset, leaving attendees energized and uplifted.

Dreamstate 2025 proved that trance is not just music—it’s a pathway to physical vitality, mental clarity, and shared joy. And with Tiësto leading the way back to the genre that defined his early career, the future of trance feels brighter than ever.

There are a couple of voices destined to become synonymous with Cosmic Gate’s ‘MOSAIIK’-advanced 2.0 sound. Diana Miro will doubtless be one, and there’s every likelihood that Nathan Nicholson’s another. Having already shone on ‘Follow You Anywhere’ - a song that got under love’s skin, to explore the fine line between devotion and obsession, he’s ready to dive emotionally deep again on ‘Just The Beginning’.

The penultimate single to herald the Mar 3 arrival of ‘MOSAIIK Chapter Two’ is released today.

Lyrically, ‘Just The Beginning’ touches on the nature of introspection, honestly and amnesty inside of a relationship, while CG’s studio-work shadows it with a coolly pensive, yet grippingly proggy fashion. The track got it’s very first airing during Cosmic Gate’s sonically and visually magnetising Feb 15 performance from Ibiza [https://www.youtube.com/live/KQ3VLy8MkwI]. Backdropped by the alluring Es Vedrà isle, Nic & Bossi performed another two-hour set, certain to join the ranks of their multi-million-viewed NYC rooftop, Puerto Vallarta beachfront and Miami balcony raves.

Over the course of the set, they also premiered new material including the Gid Sedgwick–sung ‘Emotions Of Colour’, alongside music from the likes of Grum, Tinlicker, Local Dialect, Sven Vath, Yotto and others. You can watch (or indeed re-watch!) Cosmic Gate’s sunset set from Ibiza here, now.

While it might be just the beginning for CG & Nathan’s ‘Just The Beginning’ this week, the ‘MOSAIIK’ odyssey concludes with ‘Chapter Two’ on Mar 3. The album’s available to pre-save/order on digital, streaming, CD and limited-edition double vinyl (naturally including both Chapters) versions here now.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Cosmic Gate & Nathan Nicholson collaborate for the outstanding vocal progressive trance anthem Just The Beginning. The track utilizes the superb deep progressive style of Cosmic Gate with chunky grooves, organic percussion, pounding kicks, deep pulsating basslines and strong epic synthy lines with melancholic flavor. The vocal  shines bright with great motivating hopeful lyrics and the brilliant performance of Nathan that is truly unique  with retro introspective style that is esoteric and optimistic at the same time. The climax goes full on with melodies, harmonies and pulsating beats for the ultimate hands in the air moment. Classy eclectic progressive trance at its very best! #PureGold Love IT [/content]
