Anjunabeats headliners Andrew Bayer and Oliver Smith join forces on 'Rude Boyz'.
Fan favourites Andrew Bayer and Oliver Smith have been releasing on Anjunabeats for over a decade. As both producers developed into mainstays in the trance and progressive house scene, they became close friends. Now, the duo make their collaborative debut with 'Rude Boyz', a track that combines both artists' love for the UK bass scene of the '90s and '00s, brought into the modern era with their signature trance and progressive styles.
Championed already by Above & Beyond at multiple shows in 2024, including at iconic London venue Drumsheds, 'Rude Boyz' is a track that pays homage to Oliver and Andrew's musical roots.
GRAMMY-nominated producer Andrew Bayer has been responsible for some of the most experimental artist albums on Anjunabeats. His 2011 debut 'It's Artificial' merged glitch-hop, electronica and prog house, while his fourth studio album, 'Duality', was one of his most ambitious works to date; climbing to #1 on the US / Canada iTunes Dance chart and attracting support from Sirius XM's Diplo and Liquid Todd, BBC Radio 1's Annie Nightingale and KCRW's Jason Bentley.
Last year, Andrew followed up the success of 'Duality' with a far-reaching North American tour and made an appearance at Above & Beyond's Group Therapy Weekender festivities at The Gorge. He also collaborated with Gabriel & Dresden and Sub Teal on 'Other Eye', which saw spins from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Cosmic Gate, Farius, Mark Sixma, Andrew Rayel and Kyau & Albert.
Oliver Smith has amassed over 20 million streams across his entire catalogue. As Anjunabeats' first signing and one of our label's oldest and dearest friends, he mixed the Anjunabeats Worldwide 08 compilation in 2018; featuring ten of his own tracks, it reached the #1 spot on the iTunes dance chart in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and more.
Oliver kicked off 2024 by releasing 'Everything', a collaborative single with Tom Bailey that featured on the highly-anticipated Anjunabeats Worldwide 11 compilation, mixed by Alex Sonata & TheRio. He also embarked on an international tour with stops in LA, New York, London, Delhi, Mumbai and beyond.
