BEST OF 2019 with Daniel Wanrooy


Hailing from the flatlands of Dordrecht, Southern Holland, Daniel Wanrooy has been influencing the playlists of some of the world’s biggest & best artists for the last decade. Both as a solo artist and half of the hailed duos Progression & Odyssee, his evocative, imaginative music has successfully cross-bred virtually every subgenre of nowadays Electronic Dance Music. His music got support by Tiësto, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Sander van Doorn, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten and many more!



EDM life for Daniel started early with him putting his musical talents to the test. Experimenting with the first Tracker programs, Daniel learned to make music by the well-traversed method of trial and error. Daniel’s career really started to take off from the early 2000’s. Daniel was spotted by the mighty Tiësto, who took Daniel under his wing, supporting him around the globe. During the years the superstar DJ used a total of 5 tracks of Daniel’s work on his mega-selling “In Search of Sunrise” series. His first album “Different Day, Different Light” was credited by MTV as “two hours of fascinating music”, receiving a huge reception from press and DJs alike. His second album “Slice Of Life” was also a massive success, with the music video USA Idols finalist Blake Lewis for their single “Stay In The Moment”. During his Slice Of Life world tour he was special guest on national Malaysian television during the “Hello on 2” breakfast show for over 5.000.000 live viewers.



With this is mind its understandable that Daniel was called upon to work with some of the scenes most credible producers, with him remixing tracks for the likes of: Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5, The Crystal Method, W&W, Conjure One, Sander Kleinenberg, Allure, The thrillseekers, Super8 & Tab, Andy Moor and many more. Daniel has works with & released on such labels as Spinnin’ Records, Mixmash, Armada, Black Hole Recordings, EMI, Magik Muzik to name a few.... achievements that most artists can only dream of in such a short space of time.



A wish to see his tracks working from the perspective of the DJ booth along with a desire to travel the globe prompted Daniel to take the DJing plunge. Daniel threw himself headfirst into his performances, spinning at the legendary Heineken Hall in Amsterdam, Trance Energy - Holland, Winter Music Conference - USA, Technoparade - France, The Point - Ireland, Es Paradis in Ibiza, Eden - Ibiza, FFWD Dance Parade - Holland, Hellinikon Complex - Greece, Luxy - Taipei, Oslo Streetparade - Norway, Monday Bar Cruise - Sweden, Brixton Academy - England, Carling Academy - Scotland, Suikerrock - Belgium, Halo - South Africa, Rising Festival - Malaysia, Mysterious World - Indonesia and many many more, Daniel even toured around Europe with Tiësto - playing to over 15,000 strong crowds across the World!



Dimitris: Your biggest music career achievements in 2019:
Daniel Wanrooy: My gigs in Cyprus in Cage Club for a lot of crazy Cypriots,



 playing at Nature One Festival in Germany, sharing the stage with Ferry Corsten in Helsinki.



Markus Schulz selected my track for his new In Search Of Sunrise compilation and made his own remix of it.



Dimitris: Please rate your online presence/visibility in 2019 from 0-10?Please elaborate with short comment.
Daniel Wanrooy: 8. I have done a lot of new music and shows this year. Of course there is always room for improvement.

1) Best track(s) and short comment for each track from other fellow artists in 2019
Daniel Wanrooy: Dirty Vegas - Days Go By (CamelPhat Extended Remix) is one of my favorite tracks of this year. It has everything, it sounds great, it's different and it's exciting. Most of the trance tracks aren't very refreshing at the moment in my opinion.



2) Best of 2019 personal productions with short comment about them:
Daniel Wanrooy: My latest track "Back For More", Markus Schulz selected it for his new ISOS compilation and remixed it.



3) Best Artist in 2019(DJ & producer) with short comment:
Daniel Wanrooy: Matt Fax is making cool stuff atm and I also like Shossow's new alias Gardenstate. Fresh sounds and cool music.

Daniel Wanrooy: Dirty Vegas - Days Go By (CamelPhat Extended Remix) the one I mentioned earlier.
