BEST OF 2019 Interview with John Gregory


John Gregory is a DJ & Producer from the UK, He first came on to the scene in 2011, producing anything from progressive Trance to deep house, John has already started to make a name for himself in the music scene. signed to Above all records, Mondo Records, Blue Soho, D.Max recordings, Addictive sounds, OHM Music, Nueva Recordings, Spring tube, Mistique music and more, Most recent gigs include Trance Sanctuary, Elevation Audio at Ministry of Sound as well as O2 Academy, and also playing gigs abroad in Ibiza, Amsterdam and Prague, and has since represented the UK in the recent world Trance radio event. His track *Illuminate * got in the Beatport trance top 100 releases which was played by Kristina Sky at *In Trance we trust* in Hollywood, other support from artist include..Chris Schambacher, Anna Lee, Roger Shah, Dankann, Ozzy XPM, M.I.K.E, Alex M.O.R.P.H, Luna Light, Omair Mirza, Andski and more.



Dimitris: Your biggest music career achievements in 2019:
John Gregory: One of my biggest achievements was being signed to OHM Music, a label that I have previously done remix work for and for me has to be one of the labels to watch out for in the future.



1) Best of 2019 personal productions with short comment about them:
John Gregory: All The Rain on the Street is a track which is due to be released with OHM Music that i am really excited about and will be looking forward to you all hearing it.

I also recently did a EP called *With You* which is currently released with Nueva Recordings, the EP its self had alot of good feedback from other top Artist.



Navagio is Another track that was released under mondo records, it was a collab with another great Artist called Dez Miller, the track itself was supported on Roger Shahs Radio.



2) Best Artist in 2019(DJ & producer) with short comment:
John Gregory: I have to say Solid Stone, his productions have always inspired me.



3) Best Remix(es) from other fellow artists in 2019 with short comment :
John Gregory: One of my favourite remixes currently is Danilo Ercole, Omair, Bev Wild ( Network X remix)  OHM music go check it out its an amazing remix.



4) YOUR Best Remix which you have produced in 2019 with short comment?
John Gregory: I have not done much remix work this year so I can't comment, but one of my best is a remix I did for OHM music - Destiny FT Spencer Lloyd

John Gregory: Network X, his remix for OHM is very well done.

John Gregory: Mumbai mixed and Compiled by SkyKnock,  on Nueva a really nice Compilation with a variety of genres



9) Best artwork about single / album/compilation or promotional campaign in 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory: AC Lights - fearless on OHM music, it really does tell a story.



10) Best vocalist/singer on electronic dance music track in 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory: Jennifer Rene, very talented singer and has worked with alot of big Artist.



11) Best electronic dance music label for 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory:  OHM music releasing a lot of good music at the minute.



12) Best online social media for 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory: Facebook for me as nearly everybody is on it and is very good for advertising your future releases. 

13) Best music composition software in 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory: I use Logic pro X but others are good as well, Abelton, Cubase etc they all have there own unique way.

14) Best music related website in 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory: Beatport, a good music platform.

15) Best production or DJ equipment (a)software & (b) hardware) in 2019 with short comment:
John Gregory: I am using a lot of native instruments for my productions at the minute, and also spire & massive. 



16) Best technical tips that you learnt in 2019 in relation to your DJing or music productions:
John Gregory: Make sure there is a main hook in your track that grabs the listeners attention.

17) Best piece of personal or music business advice you got in relation to your career in 2019 and has helped you to progress even further:
John Gregory: Nothing much but one advice I can give to fellow artist is always go back to your productions after a few days rest for music, fresh ears and you will have more ideas.

18) Best travel tips in 2019 to survive the long travelling hours and jetlag:
John Gregory: The furthest I have travelled outside the UK is 4 hours on a plane, not exactly long.

19) Best hobby or creative activity except music production in 2019:
John Gregory: Football 

Dimitris: Do you have any concrete plans for 2020 regarding future releases, tracks, albums, collaborations, DJ gigs? Please provide us the juicy details.
John Gregory: I have alot more tracks that will be ready for release in 2020 and hopefully more Gigs, maybe America one day.
