REVIEW: Arkham Knights - Fall From Innocence E.P. out on Coldharbour

If one undertakes a thorough examination of the ever changing and evolving landscape of trance music this decade, few have made as impactful and long-lasting impression as Arkham Knights. An engaging breakthrough is countered with expectation; passed impressively through cumulative years, and through experience, the breadth of soundscape and storytelling widens.

The brothers Ben and Stuart Turner are ready to unveil their most extensive release to date - the five-track length Fall from Innocence EP - showcasing their drive and passion harnessed in the journey from bedroom producer to festival contributor.

As their subscriber base has expanded, through support and guidance from mentor Markus Schulz, their studio versatility becomes reflected in their increasing roles as DJs - whether headlining Coldharbour's club nights or being the warmup act for major international stars.

The Fall from Innocence EP reflects these experiences, as well as their love for the art; and all staying true to their core sound of dark, techno-inspired trance.

From their rabbithole inducing title track, to the peaks of Se7en Seconds Until Transfer; and from the scene-setting First Light to the hypnotic Renaissance, the Fall from Innocence EP ticks all the boxes those who love the full spectrum that trance fans and Coldharbour fans adore. The vocal-driven aspect is also included, as the boys revisited their remix of Solid Stone & Jennifer Rene's Pushing Up to provide a Dark Path alternative.

From the long, murky nights of London and Montreal, to the bright lights of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the Arkham Knights journey is one to be proudly watched. And indeed, The Fall from Innocence EP is a significant milestone.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Arkham Knights is one of the most consistent duo servicing stunning productions. Their latest Fall From Innocence E.P. includes 5 massive tracks that would be impossible not to spot them in DJ sets in the coming months. Firstly Fall From Innocence has chunky groove, electro style dark basslines, massive swirling synths, well-known vocal samples in the background and very moody atmosphere. Great warm up material to build tension.  First Light can become your perfect into track with its nearly 3 minutes ambient intro with melodramatic strings while the beats and basslines come inside with that very dark and spacious theme on top. Can you imagine to play this track when the First Light of the day slowly comes and absorb darkness? Renaissance is driving dark progressive trance with haunting warped synthy lines on top while the breakdown is long and atmospheric with cinematic strings and strong melodramatic touches. The climax continues on the same driving pattern with that dark synthy line that is rocking the crowds. Se7en Seconds Until Transfer is the most upfront and powerful full on energetic dark pumping and bouncy as we like it to be. The melody recalls the good old trance days with MIKE Push influences all over it. The breakdown allows the melody to spread all over the place and the climax is full on and waving hands in the air. Lastly as the title of the remix suggests Solid Stone & Jennifer Rene's classic Pushing Up gets the Arkham Knights Dark Path Remix. This version goes even darker with certain melodic techno infusions to it with tribal thumping grooves, strong solid percussion and long and teasing breakdown blessed with luscious synthy hook  that highlights Jennifer performance. Overall this EP covers different moments of your DJ sets so definitely is a must add in your basket item. #PureGold Love IT[/content]
