REVIEW: Mason - Exceeder (Remixes) out on Armada Music

Jump back in time to when electro vibes were gaining ground and starting to sweep the globe. Few songs capture the spirit of the time better than Mason’s ‘Exceeder’, and the iconic riff translates exceptionally well into 2014.

With 5 different styles, ranging from UMEK & Mike Vale’s deeper cut to Kill The Buzz’s big-room flavor and Sonny Wharton’s rolling rework, there’s no denying that this tune works just as well now as it did when it was first released.

2CV bring the funky 80s vibe, while Corderoy hammers home a slamming monster.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most recognisable electro riffs of all times included on Mason's club classic Exceeder receives the 2014 treatment with five exceptional remixes to choose from that are already part on the dj sets of the biggest djs in the planet. First of all is UMEK & Mike Vale who bring  their incredible deep tech house vibe with chunky techy grooves, deep rolling basslines, superb percussion melody and the killer electro riff that comes in the breakdown after the very cool vocal sample and lead the track to its ecstatic climax that will please the ears of the purists. Kill The Buzz are on the mission to deliver the alternative rough and cranking version with pumping booming threatening aggressive basslines, bouncy pulsating grooves, swirling synths and superb application of the magnificent electro hook line to bring shivers and enjoyment to those who will recognise it. Sonny Wharton add to the original the tribal techy grooves, deep funky  basslines while on top the main synthy hook appear to give goosebumps straight away. You can not go wrong when Sonny Wharton is on remix duties you can be left assured. Corderoy is slowly rising in the progressive house scene after his more trance oriented material with a stunning version that will deliver the goods for you. If you search for a powerful driving and highly intensive ride don't go further than this remix. The original maddening riff is here but packaged in a totally new shinning box to bring mayhem on prime time dj sets that needs the Corderoy eclectic touch! 2CV remix is an exceptional back to basics version with artists like Africa Bambaataa coming in our minds with electro funky dirty sleazy atmosphere to keep the bodies moving and shaking! Five versions that will be hammered a lot during ADE festival that's for sure. Love IT
